I must say I am extremely disappointed by Mbeki's attitude to that tyrant. But then again one really should'nt be too surprised by that feckless idiot. Same on him. Shame on Zimbabwe's neighbors. Shame on us all.

FINALLY! People are beginning to understand Mugabe. He is not, and never has been a democrat. He is a tyrant desperate to hold onto power at any cost. Having "elections" in Zimbabwe is a complete waste of time and money, because there can be only one result until Mugabe AND Zanu-PF are dead or destroyed.

We in the outside world should asking the MDC and other opposition parties to risk their lives, families and everything else to participate in farcicial votes that mean absolutely nothing. I am truly sad that it has taken lots of bloodshed and violence to finally convince the outside world of the venom that this man contains.

Mugabe, the African Saddam. No threat internationally but just as leathal to human rights and a picture of a false democratic government benefactor. With far less to lose, the UN will drag its feet until Mugabe dies and then just count bodies as the ZANU-PF hurl the country into a killing field until another ruthless jackal rises from its ranks to suffocate democracy. Darwinism in action.

As for China , Sudan, and South Africa, they should stop all business with the deadly dictator, Mugabe! China especially has been playing a deceptive game, always seeking excuses. It is time for China, especially before the Olympics, to show on whose side she is: the Democracies, or the Dictatorships! This is not less true of Sudan and South Africa, which bring shame on their claim of high ground in Africa, by sucking the Teet of Mugabe, the Dictator!

Is there anything redeeming in Africa? We only hear bad news about terrible violence about"necklacing" and "machetting." Was Zimbabwe not better under the colonial rule. This is what Sen. Obama appears to be saying: "Zimbabwe was the bread basket of Africa." If Mandela himself, the hero of anti-colonist fight, condemns the "free" Zimbabwe, this is a time for Africans to reassess colonialism, for clearly they aren't ready to govern themselves!

THIS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. MANY COUNTRIES IN AFRICA ARE NOT READY FOR DEMOCRACY.

It is an African problem that African counbtries will need to solve just like where Bosnia and Kosovo were European problems that had to be largely dealt with by European countries with some level of assistance by the US since it already had forces stationed closeby in Europe as part of NATO obligations. If Zimbabwe's neighbors don't like what Mugabe is doing then they can coordinate with considerable leverage against the land-locked country of Zim. Likewise if Africa does not like the way China does business in sudan and Zim then they need to coordinate together. The time for any further so-called humanitarian intervention by non-Africans (by the US at least) died after what happened in Somalia.
