Since some of you are so obsessed with names, why was it fine to refer to Hillary Rodham Clinton and use negatives about her husband to bring her down? Should she have been referred to as Hillary Rodham? I think not. So it is the same for Barak Obama. And really, how many persons actually referred to him other than Obama. In the great realm of things, very few.

Why are Obama supporters stuck on this racist thing? Obama wants that to go on because that was his plan in the beginning. If you have no substance, you attack with meaningless slurs. Why can you Obamaites see that with the resume Obama has he could not win if he were a white man. That has been shown many times. It is like saying the only thing this man has going for him is the color of his skin. If you people who support him thought he had any positives you would try to point those out but, no, you keep coming back to his skin color. so that must be all you feel is outstanding about him. Those of us who oppose him have gotten past that. We look to his arrogance, to his lies, to his backtracking and flipflopping on issues, to his acts of entitlement (his fake presidential seal, etc), and you keep coming back to race. Is it you who are the racists and feel his entitlement along with him and his wife because they belong to the black community.? He wants it both ways----he wants his black entitlement but also his pass into the white community. If he wants to unite the party in November, he better get his supporters to decide if he wants to be black to take advantage of those constituents or a man of all the people and stop this racist nonsense.

McCain can't win. The majority of Dems will vote their party and that's a very good thing.

Schlang ,for Your own good Knowledge and Education purposes I would like to explains why Sen Obama having the double lead over MCcain....not just like your "Walk of Rubbish Talk" without substance as many GOP pro-life have proven themselves exactly signed the blank check without asking the reasons. His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These inculded 1.
    1. **the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 - became law,
2.**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, - became law,
3.**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
4.**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, - became law,
    5. **The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, In committee, and many more.
In all, since entering the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096.
An impressive record, for someone who supposedly has no record according to some who would prefer that this comparison not be made public.
    He's not just a talker.
    He's a doer.

    • Posted By: Proud SC Republican @ 06/27/2008 3:51:56 PM

You need to recheck your facts; in reality, Obama voted Present on 98% of the votes that reached the floor since he has been in the Senate. He doesn't want to vote Yea or Nay because then he could be held accountable.

You also need to realize getting (or having) your name put on a bill means nothing. Truth is Obama is also the head of a Committee. Since he was appointed the Chairman, the committee has not met a single time. Now that's a DOER!!! Or should I say NON-DOER!!!

Quit making excuses for why you fell origianlly for this left-wing nut job and start really looking at the facts.

      • Posted By: obiedobie in PA @ 06/27/2008 10:53:40 PM

You are completely wrong. There is no present vote in the US Senate, that was in the Illinois Senate where he voted present when he had issues with how a bill was written but not with the issue itself. Secondly he is NOT the head of the committee you are discussing - Joe Biden is-- so he couldnt call any meetings. So quit making excuses, stop listening to the lies and fact check your sources--the right wing nut jobs who are scared to death that some one will actually become president who is ready to help the people who go him elected.Obama 08

denmill--is this your job? lurking and throwing nasty despicable slurs that are obviously untrue? get a life. and get used to it - president barack hussein obama is inevitable. and for the first time in my adult life, this white woman in her 40s is proud of her country. YES WE CAN! HATERS BEWARE!

John McCain can't make up his mind where he sits on this fence. He claims to be a "Mavrick," but the only thing mavrick about John McCain is his inconsistency. Despite McCain's honors as a war verteran, the fact is that he graduated as a flunky (894 of 899) from the Naval Academy. His greatest pre-politics achievement seems to have been as a light weight boxer in his academy days. And while we can honor McCain's perseverance as a war hero, we should not forget he was shot down after only his 23 missions over Viet Nam. Experienced fighter pilots in that war flew many hundreds hundreds of missions. Some pilots often flew 3 and 4 sorties a day. By that count, McCain lasted all of a week in Viet Nam. Other than touting his war record - who is John McCain? Does he have the "smarts" and intelligence, and mental capacity to lead as president, or is he likely to be another "Bush" - puppet of the Authoritarian right?

Here is an interesting article arguing against McCain not being Bush III

      STUMPER
      Posted Monday, June 16, 2008 6:40 PM
Why McCain Wouldn't Be Bush III (Sorry, Barack)
      Andrew Romano

      EXCERPT:

Yes, McCain is a Republican. Yes, he--like Bush--has Republican positions. And yes, you should vote against him if you disagree with the Republican Party on the issues. My only point here is that McCain, based on his bipartisan past, is probably one of the Republicans least likely to govern like Bush--and thus least deserving of the inevitable "Bush III" label. None of this is to say that McCain would be a perfect president, or even a good one. I'll let the voters decide that. Maybe you think he's too old. Maybe you think he's too conservative. Maybe you think he's squandered his honor for political gain. Maybe you just like Obama better. Any reason is fine, as long, that is, as the crucial comparison is between Obama and McCain--their policies, their personalities and the problems they'll face as president--and not between Obama and Bush. Because even though 43 has done some preposterous things during his time in the White House, he's not defying the Twenty-Second Amendment to run for a third term--despite what Obama says.

You, sir, are an ignorant piece of crap. John McCain has been in politics for about 35 years so knows pretty much all there is to know. Who cares where he graduated in his class? And your insinuation that his war record is less than stellar because he got shot down shows your absolute ignorance of war. You can be shot down on your first flight. He wasn't playing a damn video game!

      Stupid turd.

Let's hear it for "Citizens of the World" - we need more of them in the United States. Perhaps our electorate would be smarter.

The only clowns in this whole political season are the supporters of the rusty, creaky "machine" called the GOP. Don't be fooled by a conservative in sheep's clothing - that would be McBAAAAHHHHCain't!

Obama has proven again to be the true chameleon that he is. Once again he thinks that he can buy the american people vote. He flip flopped against the new campaign finance reform bill so that he could pay Hillary debts under cover and create a scam "unity" in Unity, NH. I think the perfect setting would be a meeting in Looneyville, TX. or Lonneyville, WV. for "lunatic". Another appropriate setting would be the town of Deception, Quebec in Canada for "fishy business south Chicago style". His egocentricity has blinded his reasoning and his audacious arrogance has made him believe that his intelligence is above everyone. He truly thinks that he can manipulate anybody by playing the frivole next door attitude. Barack Hussein Obama eventhough you are a chameleon, you can fool some of the people some of the times, but not all of the people all of the times.

  • Posted By: denmill @ 06/27/2008 1:22:18 PM

Just another leftist tactic as an attempt to sway vote. These leftist liberal journalists tends to redefine the true role of a journalist which is to "report facts" into the new role of "reporting fabricated facts" and "being leftist activists". We wonder why the subscription of newspapers and magazines such as Newsweek is down the toilet. Howard! you and yor so called experts surveyors pals, can continue with your unreliable polls all you want, but guess what? you are not going to change the mind of the "American People." Please, do not count John Mcain out. Remember the leftist media was trashing him in the primaries, but he came on top. The same thing is going to happen in the November election. you cannot possibly think that the American people are going to vote for an egomaniac flip flopper like Obama especially in a time of uncertainty. We are on the eve of a 3rd world war, where the conflict being Israel and the terrorist Hamas is on the verge of becoming bloodier than ever, and we will not elect a closet muslin who is trying to redefine himself and his wife obvious hate and disrespect for America in order to satisfy his own ego. The man has not even won the election of 2008, but he is already preparing for 2012. This is a trait of a true dictator. We cannot afford his anti american view, but you would not know that because you are a part of the "so called egocentric elite" who spits on America and on Americans every days with your words and your writtings and your polls. You and Obama are more citizen of the world that you are citizen of the good old USA , that does allow you to print your nasty words and unaccurate polls daily. Go to Cuba and talk bad about Castro, your neck would be cut off before you could even say your first name. Oh no, I forget, Castro is your pen pal!!!!! You are an enemy within just like the rest of your communist friends!!!

Obama is a man of such vast intelligence that when he becomes President, I propose that he be graded and known universally as the "The AA President".

    AA standing for "Affirmative Action".

Obama must be extremely intelligent to have fooled so many extremely unintelligent followers.

He is actually a prancing, pathetic clown who had feeble opposition from PC victims like poor Hillary who were afraid to attack him hard lest they be called racist.

    Obaam is the PC-pushed candidate.

The article is interesting, but leaves one point out, what if the polls are a general indicator of what's going to happen with the general election as far as voter turnout is concerned. Both the Bloomberg and Newsweek polls, the outliers, showed that more Democrats than Republicans participated in the poll. What could be easier than clicking a few buttons on your computer from the convenience of your own home? It'll be interesting who actually shows up to vote this year. Democrats seem to be more invested this time around.

  • Posted By: Micky Marsh @ 06/27/2008 10:14:19 AM

POLL POSITION........Barack Obama has taken the formula 2008 lead, he'll be very hard to catch.

  • Posted By: whipple @ 06/26/2008 4:59:47 PM

Bigotry is showing through for some people who cannot accept that a person of color can be President. This is not an "all white" country. Who wants McCain in the White House and and more years of this mess we are in. McCain doesn't even know how to operate a computer for pete's sakes.

    • Posted By: trimm25 @ 06/27/2008 9:46:38 AM

I am a big Obama supporter. I hate the war in Iraq and Mccains views on basically everything. But I am getting sick of hearing racist everytime someone says something bad to say about Obama. Its a election these guys are supposed to be questioned about everything.

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 06/26/2008 5:06:00 PM

Bigotry has nothing to do with it. People would be concerned about any presidential nominee who is a three-year freshman senator senator and never held statewide office. McCain has experience but he hasn't shown himself to be very impressive. We let the best candidate slip right through our hands

      • Posted By: mcleodmn @ 06/26/2008 6:54:45 PM

You still don't get it. It has little to do with the candidates, and everything to do with the parties. A matchup between ANY democrat that ran for office this year vs. ANY republican that ran would have resulted in the same landslide we are about to see this November and, no, not in the republicans favor.

  • Posted By: Ganpat @ 06/27/2008 6:31:05 AM

    Cool down everybody !

Everyone's a winner in this game.

The clown Obama will almost certainly become president and enjoy the trappings that go with it. Good luck to him.

His followers will have the delight of knowing for months it's gonna happen and being thrilled for a few months afterwards. Then they will be bitterly disillusioned, but it will have been worth the price. A good drinking session is worth a bad hangover.

Hillary's supporters will have the pleasure of knowing their candidate has an excellent chance for the presidency in 2012 as a result of America's huge huge huge embarrassing disgust with Obama.

Evevn McCain will have reason to be happy: he will have the joy of knowing he did his best in 2008 to prevent a dangerous clown from getting into the Oval Office, and that America was forced to learn a harsh lesson from its folly.
It will be a far better country for it. No more Obamas !!!

So have a nice Summer everybody !!!

  • Posted By: Ganpat @ 06/26/2008 8:32:08 AM

So what if he has a huge lead?

So what if he wins by a landslide?

all the greater the bitter disillusionment to follow.

Who will care about Obama in three years?

I am a Clinton supporter and I am prepared to wait.

I hope Hillary is not stupid enough to destroy herself by becoming this conman's VP>.

    • Posted By: Tappy McWidestance @ 06/26/2008 9:53:04 AM

I don't think you'll have to worry about Obama asking her to be his VP. He wants to change politics by bringing in honest, hard-working people. The Clintons don't qualify.

      • Posted By: Ganpat @ 06/27/2008 6:21:43 AM

        Tappy:

Many thanks for your kind reassurance that Hillary will not be that dangerous clown Obama's VP.

I was seriousl;y worried it might happen to her.

So she ought to have a good chance for president in 2012. We shal;l be voting for her together.

      • Posted By: JaneMS @ 06/26/2008 2:17:06 PM

The Clinton and Obama money people are getting together tonight to make a deal.
Obama wants Hill and Bill to campaign for him and the Clintons want the money they lost. So, the fix is in for what Hillary wants. She better becareful as it wouldn't be the first time Obama broke his word or "mis-spoke".

CHANGE ... I can CHANGE when it suits me
CHANGE ... you can believe in for a day or two
CHANGE ... you can't keep up with
CHANGE ... your underwear because you'll defecate in your pants when you wake up to find out what the left-wing liberal ideologues have done after gaining complete control of government.
