ALL TALK- NEVER ANY ACTION! ( When Obama refers to Kennedy then he must realize Kennedy''''s statement : "It is not what your country can do for you - but what you can do for your country" -

That should be enough to see that: OBAMA HAS DONE NOTHING FOR HIS COUNTRY, but LIE! Obama is the next BUSH, not MCCAIN.

Happily, Newsweak/Coarseman are being forced, by broad criticism, to spend much more of their precious (and thankfully, rapidly diminishing) resources, time and print lines defending their whacko leftist views. That means less resources can be utilized to espouse those views. That's good news. The free market works! Absent salvation in the form of the democrat backed "fairness doctrine" these liberals will be consigned to appearing on msnbc and viewed by a small number of kindred spirits.

MSNBC & NBC is owned by GE. GE is selling to Iran. Iran is killing us in Iraq. Pension funds in GE are losing money. GE stock has been downgraded and is going down. Dump your GE stock in your pension funds and boycott their products. Maybe Chris and Keith will be gone. They are gone for me as a few months ago anyway. Couldn't take the gushing over Obama any more.
You notice they don't report on the war any more. Thats because its going good and they don't want to admit they were wrong with their "We have lost" talk. We will not run away with our tails between our legs like we did in Viet Nam. Real Americans don't surrender.

Yet what Fineman, for some odd reason does not mention,is that NEWSWEEK polls are freighted towards Democrats by nearly the same percentage that Obama leads in their newest poll. Another reason NEWSWEAK is usually discounted. Or,in the last election,2004 Kerry v.Bush,Kerry outpolled Bush in the NEWSWEEK poll, due to this:

    Democrats polled:36%

    Republicans polled:24%

At the LA Times,it is even worse, with:

    Democrats polled:44%

    Republicans polled:26%

NEWSWEAK also wins dubious plaudits for inserting, into this race,a ''Racial Resentment Index'' which it only applies to white voters. Such a device renders their alleged ''impartiality'',moot.

Not defending the polls, but there are more registered democrats than republicans in the general population

      • Posted By: Lee Holmes @ 06/26/2008 2:39:01 PM

Just so,yet there remains a tested means,as developed by the 1940s ROPER poils and GALLUP,to deal with this problem in such a way as it creates a more proportional cross section. First, cut with the sampling of voters within a specific zip or area code. Further,no more monolithic sampling in a DC-only or New York-only or LA-only demographic. Look to regions that went heavily Republican in the 2006 midterms and those who went Democrat in the same election, this demographic being less than two years old and as such is a reasonably reliable indicator. It is thus possible to achieve a two-party/libertarian split within a two-four point margin. Those extending well over 10% create slanted polls, whether it be the liberal LA TIMES or NEWSWEEK,or the conservative GENERAL DYNAMICS,normally utilized by FOX News.

Polls don't matter, except for the media. After the Democaratic Primary, Obama has managed to regenerate some momentum by attacking mccain on his knowledge and "so called experience" in National Security. Obama may be the younger and inexperienced, but he is definitely the more intelligent candidate. That will correct the mistake we have had for 7-1/2 years, George W. Bush . McCain's platform is to similar to the current dumb ass administration.

Bush has done a great job. The economy runs on oil. Without oil our economy is gone.
Europeans pay more for gas because of the high tax on it to support their social policies.
Little old France has 28 nuclear plants and 80% of their energy is from nuclear. But oh no, not us.....you can thank the tree huggers for that one.
The middle east want to destroy us. They know they can't do it militarily so are trying to do it economically.
you know, those radical muslims we aren't supposed to mention because it isn't politically correct.
Sure we use a lot of oil. Our economy runs on it. China and Indias economy is growing by leaps and bounds thats why they are buying more oil.
It's no secret the dems want us to fail in Iraq and our economy to go heck. Thats why they haven't done their jobs in congress, so they can say its Bush's fault. Their answer to everything is tax tax tax, and think up more socialist policies as an excuse to tax some more.
Obama would burst America and brankrupt its citizens. When that happens I don't want to hear any whineing from the Bomma maniacs.
          Remember Hamas endorses Bomma too.

Fineman explains the discrepancy between the Newsweek/LA Times polls and & almost ALL other national Pres. polls, showing Obama with a lead of zero to 6 pts. Fineman says his firm "always asks the 'horserace' question first.. Since "horserace" questions favor the Dems night now, Newsweek is poisoning the well. Since you don't have "horserace" questions in the voting booth, Newsweek is skewing the results right now.

Only the LA Times poll of 6/23 and the Newsweek poll of 6/19 show this as a blowout for Obama in the 12 to 15 range. No other recent poll comes close.

So, what's going on with the LA Times and Newsweek?????

You are not kidding about the media. Im sure this is contributing:

      Media mogul Murdoch praises Obama

      EXCERPT:

The worlds most powerful media mogul and owner of *Fox News and the Wall Street Journal, the hard-line conservative Rupert Murdoch last night admitted he had told one of his publications to back Democratic candidate Barack Obama. Could this be the start of a home run for Obama?

A political communication analyst tells us why he should be wary.

CEO and chairman of News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch has a HUGE STAKE in the WORLD PRESS, including dozens of newspapers, magazines, television channels and websites.

He has been criticized for a biased and overbearing influence, especially coming from his American news channel *Fox News. In the UK, he owns almost all of the conservative written press and is thought by many to be the reason behind Tony Blair???s landslide victory in 1997. Last night, speaking at a technology conference supported by the Wall Street Journal, the media tycoon praised Barack Obama, calling him a STAR.

*SHARENEWS COMMENT: Fox News is the one news media that was designated by Murdoch to not be as biased in support of Obama. Thus, the reason why Obama supporters flipping out when they see Fox News referenced anywhere in these blogs.

John McCain can't make up his mind where he sits on this fence. He claims to be a "Mavrick," but the only thing mavrick about John McCain is his inconsistency. Despite McCain's honors as a war verteran, the fact is that he graduated as a flunky (894 of 899) from the Naval Academy. His greatest pre-politics achievement seems to have been as a light weight boxer in his academy days. And while we can honor McCain's perseverance as a war hero, we should not forget he was shot down twice in his career, after only his 23 missions over Viet Nam. Experienced fighter pilots in that war flew many hundreds hundreds of missions. Some pilots often flew 3 and 4 sorties a day. By that count, McCain lasted all of a week in Viet Nam. Other than touting his war record - who is John McCain? Does he have the "smarts" and intelligence, and mental capacity to lead as president, or is he likely to be another "Bush" - puppet of the Authoritarian

    • Posted By: jarhead @ 06/26/2008 1:28:46 PM

Being a retired Marine of 20 years, and a Viet Nam era vet, I can say this. Wether McCain lasted a week or a day he was there for the call to duty. I appreciate that fact. He has a son at the Naval
Academy and one in Iraq. There are those that may have had a more sucessful flying record or graduated higher in their class but the point is "he was there'. How about you? Have you done anything for this country other than down somebody for their service? Don't talk the talk until you walk the walk.

      • Posted By: dubldoc @ 06/26/2008 2:00:25 PM

Jarhead, ummmm, just curious, but I'm sure you are well aware that much of the Bush team had "better things to do" than go to Vietnam (shall I list all the deferments of various individuals?), and Shrub himself used family political contacts to jump the line and get his sorry ass into the Texas Air National Guard..a virtual guarentee that you wouldnt be sent to battle (not like THESE days).

And as far as 'experience' goes, look at the wonderful results we got from the decades of 'experience' from guys like Cheney,Rumsfeld,Ashcroft,Gozales,Libby...and Bush. If this is why we want experience, I'll take a political novice ANY DAY! Oh, yeah, I'm a retired Army (2005) 0-4

Your right major, I did not know about the Bush crew and how they got out of not serving. I was merely defending the fact that McCain did in fact serve his country and the number of missions he flew or his class standing should not take away from that. I get somewhat aggrivated (as you shoul) and on the defensive when people who have not served passes judgement on those who have.

As far as the Bush crew you mentioned. Pieces of Sh*t. I have nothing more to say on them.

          Don't forget - VOTE McCAIN !!!!!!!!!

    • Posted By: Jack999 @ 06/26/2008 1:05:25 PM

I think Many More deserves as WAR HERO such those pilot that fly hundreds of missions in Vietnam without being shot-down dont get the credit as john MCCain, they're unsung HERO most deserved then John Mccain himself as POW

      • Posted By: fowlowl @ 06/26/2008 1:19:15 PM

Okay, you want a Vietnam veteran pilot who never got shot down for your hero? I have one for you: Donald Rumsfeld. I'll bet you didn't know how much you adore Rumsfeld until right now.

        • Posted By: OldGamer007 @ 06/26/2008 1:39:50 PM

Speaking of being shot down in Vietnam, have you ever wondered why none of the other POW's, like Ted Guy, McCain's SRO [Senior Ranking Officer], ever received the same injuries as McCain? Seems from McCain's medical records that were just released, McCain's injuries are consistent with those you receive from not holding your arms in while being ejected from your jet.

    • Posted By: fowlowl @ 06/26/2008 1:15:57 PM

You're right, he's no prize. But, when you compare him to the dufuss he's running against, he looks like a cross between Winston Churchill and Ronald Reagan. He does seem to know that we don't have 57 states. Ponder that one for a minute. When in your life have you ever been so tired or so drunk that you would have said that we have 57 states? He's never given two speeches comparable to the one that Obama gave telling jokes about how weak and insignificant Iran is and the one less than 48 hours later where he detailed what a "grave threat" Iran is. He has nothing in his background that remotely resembles that parody of the black community called Trinity church. Strike that, Trinity is more like a parody of the Amos n' Andy Show. Yep, when you look at the competition, McCain looks like the Man of the Century..

Howard Fineman, in your panicked attempt to rescue the legitimacy of the Newsweek poll, your total lack of journalistic integrity shines through once again. It is obvious to everyone not employed by Newsweek (with the exception of Mr. Rove, of course) that it is VERY bad sign indeed that Obama did not experience a huge bump in the polls following Sen. Clinton's suspension. And now 3 weeks later he's still practically tied with McCain? You should be shaking in your boots. All signs point to a loss for Obama and the DNC apparatus in November. You may as well start writing that book about how Obama lost and why the Democrats should have nominated Sen. Clinton. That way you can publish it the day after the November election. PUMA!

    • Posted By: OldGamer007 @ 06/26/2008 12:50:59 PM

And if Obama looses, who will the fingers be pointing at? Yup, Hillary...

So, if Hillary supporters are voting for McCain because their feelings were hurt, that's one thing (Can't stand the heat, don't throw kitchen sinks). But if Hillary supporters are voting for McCain because they like Hillary and want to see her in the future, it lacks foresight in preserving her legacy, and will ruin any chance of her running again. (Tell PUMA they need to think before they leap)

      • Posted By: News and Notes @ 06/26/2008 1:01:03 PM

If Obama loses he has nobody to blame but himself. The democratic elites pushed him right through the nominating process. Hillary is now working tirelessly on his behalf, and bringing as many of her supporters with her. It's up to Obama to assure HIllary supporters if he wants their votes.

        • Posted By: OldGamer007 @ 06/26/2008 1:19:09 PM

If she is working tirelessly on his behalf as you stated, then I concede the argument. I just hope her supporters don't turn a deaf ear, being from what I have seen, he as well as others have been trying to extend the proverbial olive branch.

          • Posted By: Angelica @ 06/26/2008 1:59:39 PM

Hillary is trying hard; it shows her great character. Many of her supporters (including me) love and appreciate her; but will not vote for Obama. Obama will be equally disastrous as Bush to this country. Obama's inexperience and immatury (arrogance) refect in his daily actions. Let us get McCain for 4 yrs, then 2012 either Hillary or better democratic candidate should win.

Its surprising that McCain continues to allow Karl Rove to be an unofficial strategist for his campaing (he keeps giving his 2 cents worth all over the place), considering it reminds everybody of his connection with Bush. I guess the more McCain tries to distance himself from Bush , the more he gets caught in the Bush/Rove quagmire. The GOP is going to loose so bad across the board this year, its going to make 1984 look like a squeaker.

It is the responsibility of the supreme court to interpret the constitution, not mine. Yesterday they came out with a "liberal" opinion on death penalty, today a "conservative" one on guns.
