Howard Fineman, in your panicked attempt to rescue the legitimacy of the Newsweek poll, your total lack of journalistic integrity shines through once again. It is obvious to everyone not employed by Newsweek (with the exception of Mr. Rove, of course) that it is VERY bad sign indeed that Obama did not experience a huge bump in the polls following Sen. Clinton's suspension. And now 3 weeks later he's still practically tied with McCain? You should be shaking in your boots. All signs point to a loss for Obama and the DNC apparatus in November. You may as well start writing that book about how Obama lost and why the Democrats should have nominated Sen. Clinton. That way you can publish it the day after the November election. PUMA!

I just hope we dont makes the same mistake in selecting the correct president ,We Americans having a habit to select a president thats popular democracies dont always throw up the best leader, because the electrol process focuses on who is the best persuader rather then the best leader,The most important aspect of good government is having able men in charge that's difficult when you have popular elections as a candidate is not judge by his ability to govern but by his persuasive power.

Ummm. The latest Gallup tracking poll, which has a FAR better reputation for accuracy than Newsweek, shows McCain and Obama tied. The latest Rasmussen tracking poll shows Obama only 4 points ahead. These are the two polls that are really worth watching, since they are conducted by professionals and not by biased organizations like Newsweek with a political agenda of their own.

Well, Howard, since you're apparently a neophyte when it comes to polling let me explain it to you. Your Newsweek poll of "adults" isn't worth the trouble that it takes to read it. You'd get a better read from pulling petals off of flowers. As those brighter than you (a larger group than you may realize) know, Democrats always poll better than Republicans among "adults". That's because "adults" and "registered voters" include the disturbingly large group that either isn't paying attention or doesn't have the ability to filter out all of the crap that Democrats (yes, Howard, your party the Democrats) and their fellow-traveling media types put out. If you ever have a few spare minutes and want to do something useful for the country, ask your bosses why they continue to spend money on the same wildly inaccurate polls that Newsweek has published for decades. A point of historical interest: In 1984, the final Newsweek poll showed Mondale beating Reagan. The final toll of states in that one was Reagan 49, Mondale 1.

When a news publication unabashedly forfeits it's journalistic integrity as Newsweek has, the only people who will believe their polls are those who share their ideology. I use the term unabashedly, because they have always been left-leaning, but only within the last year have they become so blatant about it.

  • Posted By: think4yourself @ 06/26/2008 11:45:03 AM

Of course he does'nt! Remember this is the same magazine that predicted that Walter Mondale would beat Ronald Regan! Newsweek is a liberal magazine and so is the LA Times. The latest Gallup poll shows them tied! This is just the media's attempt to brain wash people with this proprganda garbage. Better luck next time.

guess Barack is shaken by all the bloggers and websites floating the Net because he has formed a "dream team" to help fight us! Senator Obama has formed a team to battle his negative image on the Internet. Why would he be concerned about articles that he claims are lies and misconceptions? Do you think that maybe a good percentage of those articles may speak the truth?

Is it coincidence that Obama graduated from Harvard, a school with one of the largest Muslim organizations (HIS - Harvard Islamic Society) located on campus since 1955.

Is it coincidence that Barack was repulsed by a very successful Republican President Ronald Reagan and is enamored by one of our worst Presidents in history Jimmy Carter?

Is it coincidence that Larry Sinclair is getting death threats after stating he had a drug encounter and two gay sex encounters with Obama about 8 years ago?

Is it coincidence that Obama had absolutely NO PROBLEM with his church or pastor until the year that he ran for President and then he amazingly saw the light?

Is it coincidence that Barack received donations from, visited the home of and is friends with Pentagon and Police Headquarters Bomber William Ayres? Is that Liberal enough for you?

Is it coincidence that 16 times convicted felon Tony Rezko donated thousands to Obama's campaign in Illinois, basically buying him the election, than receiving millions in Illinois contracts for himself and associates?

Is it coincidental that Obama has all these questionable ties and with little to no political experience has received over $264 Million in campaign contributions?

Is it going to be coincidence when Democratic opponents John Edwards receives an Attorney General's position and Hillary Clinton will get a Supreme Court nomination for their quick change in support FOR Barack Hussein Obama should he be victorious in November?

Who is controlling this puppet. We may find out soon enough. I guess this article and others will put us on the Internet dream team's radar. Bring it on Obama Sheeple, you can't handle the truth!

"Is it coincidence that Obama graduated from Harvard, a school with one of the largest Muslim organizations (HIS - Harvard Islamic Society) located on campus since 1955. "

If you got accepted to Harvard Law School, would you decline because they have Muslim's there? You're a psycho islamophobic.

"Is it coincidence that Barack was repulsed by a very successful Republican President Ronald Reagan and is enamored by one of our worst Presidents in history Jimmy Carter?"

Ronald Reagan knew who Barack Obama was? By the time Obama won his first political election, Ronald Reagan's Alzheimer's was so severe that he couldn't even recognize his own wife.

Your stupid rants go on an on. You are desperate because you know that Barack Obama will win.

Is it a coincidence that you make unsubstantiated accusations and that Barack Obama is 15 POINTS ahead of your warmongering, senile, economically illiterate McBush candidate? I don't think so.

      WHAT A JOKE YOU ARE

These people doesnt have any clue what's economy all about. What's the feeling of American when we have to BORROW money even to buy ourselves Oil ,not to mention Borrowing for War? Our US dollar now at the lowest compares other country,we only values about 7 china remmibi to a dollar going futher depreciates coming months.7 remmibi what can you buy in CHINA? not even short public Bus fare ride if you travelling in china.

  • Posted By: aggie7 @ 06/26/2008 10:49:24 AM

Why question it. It makes me wonder if Senator Obama was non-African American, would folks question so much about him?

    • Posted By: amendment2man @ 06/26/2008 10:56:05 AM

I don't care if he was polka dotted with a green face. It's his stand on the issues and his arrogance along with the mindless supporters who no logic can affect no matter how factual

      • Posted By: willnotvoteobama @ 06/26/2008 11:27:50 AM

OK SO ANSWER THIS WHAT ARE HIS PLANS OF ACTION WE HEAR HIS IDEAS

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 06/26/2008 11:00:23 AM

Actually they would question him more, if he got that far. A white 47 year-old smooth talking freshman senator with only two years national experience, who never served as a governor or head of state, would not have had the audacity to run for president.

The fact that Newsweek and LA Times sampled 16% more Democrats than Republicans should tell you why there is such a disparity with the other daily tracking polls which have a more balanced and representative sampling pool.

Polls are a tricky thing, and while I don???t believe for a minute that any polling agency would fake the numbers, there are obvious ways to skew the results. Any scientist knows that research data is only accurate if it is representative of the greater population at large i.e. the bell curve concept. If the sample is skewed in one direction or the other, the results become meaningless in trying to predict what will happen in the general population.

I don???t know if it was deliberate or not, but one really needs to question the tactics and results of polls such as Newsweek and LA Times that have a disproportionate number of Democrats.

Fineman you are the best! you are the onoly one here that debunks the obama propaganda. I read your stuff but NEVER romanos as he is so obviously biased towards obama.

When the 2nd amendment block becomes mobilized against obama he will not stand a chance. We changed congress to a republican congress in the 90's. obama's message is clear: he intends to ban and enact more restrictive laws to infringe on our newly clarified individual right to keep and bear arms. has even early on reffered to our group as "bitter" as God and guns matter to us. well I have bad news for you obama. we dont all live in the country and we will NEVER vote for you.

John Mccain on the other hand has put forth a totally clear position or NO new restrictions or redundant laws.

our group along with the conservative Christians will be an Unreachable vote that obama will never be able to count on. He has already lamented this fact.

Keep dreaming and coloring in your coloring books obamites. it's a nice dream for you but thats all it is a dream and for most of us a nightmare that we will wake up from and see thats its not real.

After reading some of your post, I've decided that like McCain, you're either delusional or crazy or both! Isn't there some nice planet that you can go to & seethe away?????

  • Posted By: whipple @ 06/26/2008 11:23:06 AM

Looks like someone likes the Bush years and the mess he has gotten this country in. Why would anyone want anymore of the same.

  • Posted By: lamm01 @ 06/26/2008 10:55:52 AM

I would be concerned with the Newsweek poll if it was accurate, however, as it is showing a 12 point lead in Obama's favor, it indicates to me that once again your publication is biased towards him and are trying to manipulate not only the polling numbers but the American public as well. As it stands, I'll wait until November when the numbers really matter.

Dear MrUn, Barack Obama discusses the failure of communism and socialism in his book Audacity of Hope. Far from loving him, any real communist would be pretty aggravated with what Obama wrote about communism. Obama believes that democracy is the greatest form of government on the planet. If you really are a communist, you need to gets your facts straight. But more likely you are a good ol' boy member of Operation Chaos, trying to smear Obama. Nice try, but no one is buying it.

Typical wing nut. Say it with me, "President Obama"!

  • Posted By: doctorfixit @ 06/26/2008 9:25:22 AM

Newsweak is so pathetically biased. Look if anyone asks I'll say I'm voting Obama because I don't want to get spit on as a racist. ACtually I'm not voting. It's a farce. They are both liberal fascist scum. The quicker we get to civil war the quicker we get it over with & get rid of liberal fascism.

    • Posted By: Tappy McWidestance @ 06/26/2008 9:46:30 AM

You really ought to read the definition of fascism. Facism is what we already have thanks to Gov. Bush. And when the civil war comes, we'll be able to get rid of the fake relegious wing nuts who are intent to drive this country into bankruptcy while the top 1% skates off into the sunset.

      • Posted By: amendment2man @ 06/26/2008 10:37:56 AM

I don't think you know what facism is widestance. We are still the greatest nation on Earth. if a civil war comes I think that all you idealistic liberals would loose to the "Bitter" people who value God and guns. we would have them but you wouldnt as your liberal orientation would have already legislated yourselves right out of contention.

How could you even articulate such a scenario?!! it just goes to show you how idealistic you all are(obamites). If there was really a repeat of such a catastrophic event ; do you think it would be you group which would emerge victorious???? just goes to show you how actually delusional the obama crowd is.

Its sad day for America if Americans still votes for the Candidates that persists of carry on meaningless expensive War,by borrowing money from other country just to stay in IRAQ,even at the expense of own people miseries at home with many uncertainty. This really makes me wonder, are these prejudice conservative white americans happy going to help and join forces with BIN LADEN to make it happened LETS IT BE "America going burst and bankrupt."?

  • Posted By: GWALDO @ 06/26/2008 10:22:18 AM

I will give you credit--you did mention Mondale's 18 point lead at one point. However, you failed to mention Dukakis's 17 point lead and Kerry's 19 point lead (or was it 19 and 17 respectively). In short, for a Democrat to be this much ahead at this point actually predicts a Republican victory in the Fall!!! The only exception to this was Carter's 30 point lead which was reduced to 3 points by election day. No wonder you people were so concerned about what happened to Baghdad Bob, you have a lot in common.

  • Posted By: amendment2man @ 06/26/2008 9:58:14 AM

Enough about Bush you would think he is a candidate again! well if he was he's got my vote! ANYONE is better than the clown obama!

    • Posted By: News and Notes @ 06/26/2008 10:20:48 AM

Bush is very much a part of this election. His destruction and indifference have set us back decades. People are trying to link McCain, not always justifiably, to Bush's horrendous policies. We will be going on about Bush for decades as we try to clean up his mess, and he lives off his oil royalties
