Distorting Obama

I envision the quest for viable alternative energy sources requiring a government commitment similar to President Kennedy's goal to put man on the moon by the end of the decade.

Too much governmental interference into a free economy is bad but there are times when it is necessary. I think our energy problem is quickly going to become too serious to leave up to the free market for a solution.

I propose a NASA agency charged with developing a viable alternative for fossil fuel within ten years. It may require additional taxation but look at the amount that we are spending now just to subsidize ethanol production.

We could explore new battery technology or the liquification of coal or whatever but I am sure that there is freedom from the middle-east oil sheiks. It would almost be worth it to just be in a position to tell OPEC to stuff it knowing that we no longer needed to rely on any foreign power for our sources of energy.

Pollyanna thinking? Perhaps but I do think there is a solution and that the technology lies within the boundaries of the United States and that a government/ private industry partnership can find it within ten years.

Haven't we all heard enough use of 'Flipp Flopper'? I heard it so often during the last two elections that it makes me want to *uke everytime someone uses that inane comment. Are we so bereft of imagination to use a different term?

This piece along with some others only serve to prove that the Mccain campaign is simply scrambling to find something, whatever it could, to latch onto for a meaningful attack. Having floundered on Substantive issues, with poll numbers, though not decisive, favoring the Obama campaign, Mccain has gone straight for the play book of the same tired old politics we need deliverance from. If he continues down this slippery slope path he'll keep losing even the small number of supporters that still side him, because more and more they'll see through the emptiness of his campaign on Substantive issues, and that will only help bring about the CHANGE that works for everyone, even Mccain himself! Yes we can!!!

I think the country needs more of what we are getting. I don't care if gas goes to $5 or $6 dollars a gallon, I don't have kids, so I don't care if people can't feed them or get them to soccer practice. I don't care if people don't have health care, I do, and that is all I care about. I think that the economy going the way it is, will force people to go green by not having more children, and eating less. Most Americans are too fat anyway, and if money gets tighter, then they will stop eating so much. I don't care if they can't eat either, I am vegan. If Obama wins, that will mean people may do better and go back to their old greedy consumer ways. We cannot have that. I say we need a full fledged depression to teach these arrogant Americans to be more appreciative. Go McCain! (I am also an avid, rabid Christian, and I know McCain is the only one that can get us closer to Rapture...Oh! How glorious the day when this world is destroyed! Praise Jesus!)

Obama-the Flip Flopper
What is amazing about Obama is that he will flip flop over the course of consecutive days--as he did with the "without preconditions" argument. Or whether or not Iran is a threat. One day, it was a "small" threat. The very next day, Obama said that he had always recognized Iran as a "grave" threat.


Then his campaign will tell us what Obama really meant, which usually involves a lot of doublespeak, and vocabularly manipulation. Who knew that preconditions and preparations, for instance, mean entirely different things, but neither Obama nor his campaign can actually pinpoint the difference?


And then there's the old standby that Obama was speaking "metaphorically."


Next, the campaign will scrub the Obama website of any reference to Obama's "old" stance.


But my favorite recent Obama flip flop has to be when he said that two men heading a VP search committee for Obama did not "work for (Obama)".


But then at least one resigned the very next day. He had to resign from something--perhaps his job with the Obama campaign?

What kind of change?
All the Obamabots that flood these comment posts, I hope you go to vote in Nov. And please be civilized if your candidate loses.

As for change, McCain has been the REAL FIGHTER FOR CHANGE all his public life... at least, for the last 25 yrs. THe record is there. He has bucked the political establishment on most of the most important and controversial issues of our time. What has Obama done, beside "SACRIFICING" one year of his youth life as a street organizer in Chicago? ALthough that was smartly planned out and he has long reaped the fruits of such an investment.
