I thought this was supposed to test political knowledge anyway. That's what the link read.

OK, a literacy test based on visual media? How does that make sense?

  • Posted By: mwolda @ 08/27/2008 1:43:28 PM

It's not going into the quiz. I posted a comment; is that what it wants? I clicked on "ok, take the quiz now!" and nothing.

You should change the name of this quiz, instead of "Global" it should be "US-centric" Literacy Quiz...

to twoshady: if George Bush was so damn good to be elected twice by us what does that say about us asan electorate now that his popularity is hovering around 20%.

Better than Joe Biden and Obama that have an approval rating of 9%

      • Posted By: msmaryanne @ 08/26/2008 11:31:30 AM

Don't foreget the Democratic Congress with 6%

We actually do not know what litteracy really is,its not about degrees,it is all about social values

After reading some of these comments I have no doubt that we, as Americans, are definitely failing the literacy test. This is troubling because we cannot expect to remain a world power if our citizens are functionally illiterate.

Sweetblue330, do you think that has something to do with our country's dedication to handing out college degrees to people who really haven't earned them? Some of those people are teaching our children!

  • Posted By: sweetblue330 @ 08/24/2008 1:35:20 AM

After reading some of these comments I can see that, as Americans, we are definitely failing the basic literacy test.

I just hope that all those people who voted for George Bush solely on the basis of his promise to overturn Roe v. Wade remember that it hasn't been done in his 8 years of office. I don't want to get into a morals debate, but it would be very challenging for the current Supreme Court to overturn a previous Supreme Courts's decision. Let's move beyond a single issue. This country has other serious problems.

Obama and Biden are a great ticket to finally get this ignorant, bigoted, war mongering, corrupt, administration on the right track. Admittedly, I was never for the Cheney- Bush ticket to begin with, but I dannot believe that well-meaning people could possibly want to continue in this vein....and that is what McCain promises....John McCain is an insencere and power-hungry candidate who will do whatever it takes to win...including being completely dishonest and willing to put himself "beholdin" to the Cheney-Bush enablers.

The same way Obama and Biden supporters voted for a Wife cheaten perjury committing skank previously, that left our troops for slaughter in the Black hawk down, bombed an empty warehouse after USS cole.

THE UNITED STATES WILL BE MUCH BETTER OFF WITH BUSH/CHENEY OUT OF OFFICE. HOWEVER I DO NOT THINK A LOT OF MCCAIN BECAUSE HE SEEMS TO BE FOLLOWING PRETTY MUCH IN BUSH'S FOOTSTEPS AND THAT IS NOT GOOD.
