Think New York City is the best place to see tall buildings? Think again. Dubai has skyscraper fever—and 25 percent of the world's cranes. More than $310 billion in construction is underway or planned, including the Burj Dubai, which will reach 160 stories at a rumored height of 2,684 feet (the competition in Dubai is so intense, the developer doesn't want to announce the actual figure for fear of being eclipsed). But size isn't everything. The Dynamic Tower will feature 80 floors that rotate—you can see the sun rise and set from the same room. Choosing the location for his "Jetsons"-worthy creation was easy, says architect David Fisher. "Dubai is the city of the future."

When all is done and the oil runs out and the exploited poor foreign workers go home and the natives are left alone and the superficial life comes to a stand still and the tall shiny buildings are unoccupied. So much wasted to be like America the idolized. O poor Dubai who will come to your rescue? America? Think again! It will be back to the hot punishing desert . Poor misguided folks!
