I thought and thought about it and they came out so close that I decided to flip a coin, two out of three, to see who wins the "most important" contest. So, I decided, "heads, Darwin wins. Tails, Lincoln wins". Two heads in a row showed on the floor. As I picked the coin up, I realized that it had a picture of Lincoln on it. A Lincoln copper penny. Then, I realized how fair the man really was.

I beg to differ. The most impact, though not yet realized, was Darwin's. The realization of that impact will or will not be when humankind realizes that the cosmos is not centered on humankind, but is the matrix that sustains it. If it is not realized and we continue our culture of consumerism as the cancer on that matrix that it has become, humankind will disappear. Though what Lincoln accomplished in preserving the union was great, that impact is somewhat less than the preservation of the species that the integration of Darwin's ideas into our paradigm offers.

I suspect that Lincoln would have appreciated Darwin.

No doubt in my mind that Lincoln's legacy and accomplishments fare surpassed Darwins. Lincols was a visionary that kept the US united amidst terrible scrutiny and failures. Darwin's theory is a great piece of scientific work but still is lacking completion. Freiman writes in Current Events, Conservative Outcomes that evolution is only the first piece of our existence. To fully understand human beings it takes the spiritual as well as the physical. I cannot think of any other US President who did more for our country and the world accept Washington. Darwin is not even in there league. Think of what the American way of life has done for billions around the world and I do not know how you could help more people. Even the Chinese communists are following are economic model now that is spreading the good life to the worlds largest country.

There will be a time when everyone will realize that the gods of the Greeks and the Romans, et. al. also includes the "god" of Judaism, Christianity, and islam. All religion is myth. When we die, our legacy is in the memory of those who choose to remember us, Starting with the nutcase Abraham, we've been led down the path to fear and subservience to those who relish power and control - those really loud talking maniacs called religious zealots.
Good grief, the herd mentality is sickening.
