You got it all wrong, world is in crisis and superpower has responsibilty on behalf of all people who are struggling on their own coutries with facisim islamisim or whatever for that matter. Just take darfur for example, if world powers don't stop it that genocide won't stop. So we are instantly war with criminals which appointed as Presidents/Prime Minsters in their own countries and do nothing but expanding brutality and beyond barbarity.

President Bush stated that the war in Afghanistan must continue or the country will become an asylum for drugs, terrorism and the organized crime. He says that we fight has toxic ideology of the Islamic extremism which threatens to become a total movement .

Afghanistan now produces 90% of the world of 'opium of S; more than any other country. The trade of drugs bursting is the direct corollary of the invasion of the USA. Nobody denies even this. Bush created the world 'narco-colony of the S largest. Is this success?
Then what about Israel And The Clash Of Civilisations?

Considering that millions of Iraq citizens have been displaced to other countries and this article compares the normal life now in the US so therefore no war, ignores the tragedies in Iraq today. It also fails to address the enormous costs by the US which otherwise would have been available to help this normal life here.
Lose of prestige around the world is another cost hard to quantify, but significant nonetheless. Other costs of this non war in Iraq include at least $1 trillion to pay for our wounded over the next 10 years. Other costs are for these returning military veterans into the population who are now trained to kill. The soldiers over there now feel they are in a real war and do ot need to come home and be told it was a non war.

What is a War President, or Prime Minister, for that matter. Churchill said it best, "Courage is Grace under Pressure." Mr. Churchill had his belly full of battle early in his life. And I believe it made him a better "Commander-in-Chief". RFK told the story of what happened in the Cabinet Room during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He related that eight out of the thirteen in the room wanted to go to war with the Russians. Kaboom. I

beieve that Jfk's resove not to fight came from his brutal experience in the Pcific Theater during WWIIbelieve th

Unfortuantely the issue is not a wartime President or the need for one. The issue is who will confront militarism in US society at large, and the readiness to use force to solve international problems. This is the real choice facing the next President as total GDP devoted to present and past wars exceeds 20% not the less than 5% often graphed as the DOD take on war and its related issues. Example, almost $500B needs top be spent on cleanup from the early atomic/nuclear age and consequent environemental damage. Even with 1000 WWII vets dying each day, new intake and needs demonstrate that VA funding should be increased by over 1/3 just to do justice ot the existing vets and those beooming vets in the near future. WARS are costly but note that Bush did fire Bruce Lindsay for predictiing Iraq alone would cost $200B a number far exceeded already.

Cont: We should not lower our standards and join the other despots of the world. Rove should realize that standing for Justice is more important than revenge. He should consider that the principles of legal representation, fair trial, hearing all the evidence against you, innocent until proven guilty, and all the other aspects of the Rule of Law are what make us an Ethical or Moral nation that rise above the muck of Tyranny. The America Rove would like to see is one that breeds dictatorship, authoritarianism, tyranny, or totalitarianism. The lack of principle Rove would wish for the American legal system is not only for foreign enemies, it was a wish he had for all Americans as well. That is the removal of the rule of law for anyone labeled an Enemy Combatant, Foreign or American. Thank any God that the Supreme Court ruled that all People are protected by the Constitution when detained by the State. A person has to be proven guilty by more than mere suspicion. All persons must be proven guilty or innocent by a court of law through a preponderance of evidence not by suspicion, not by tribunal, not by public opinion, rather by LAW, our Constitution. What is so hard to comprehend for Mr. Rove? Law?

Karl Rove appeared on the Hannidy and Colms Show (July 5th 2008) to discuss the issue of Enemy Combatants and Habeas Corpus pertaining to the recent Supreme Court ruling. When K. Rove was confronted with the underlying constitutionality of the war he kept going back to the words ???use of force.??? This is an attempt to hide behind words and their exact meaning. Only Congress can declare War. War is a far cry from a use of force. A use of force is targeted bombing or small military operations. War is an all out action. For the President to have War Powers Act qualifications Congress must label and pass a Bill of War or Declaration of War. Congress passed a bill allowing for the use of force if all other avenues had been exhausted. This is not an all out Declaration of War. We are not legally at War with Iraq. As with Vietnam we are in a Police Action in Iraq, thus the wording used by Congress, ???use of force.??? Karl Rove seems to be hiding behind the public perception that a Use of Force is equal to War. He would not use the word, ???War,??? in the exchange with Alen Colms. Why? Because he knows that in reality, No Declaration of War has been passed by Congress concerning Iraq. Yes, Congress has approved a Police Action in Iraq, which is what ???Use of Force??? legally equates to. Rove, Bush, and the Administration has abused the limited power granted by Congress and re-interpreted, ???Use of Force??? and sold it to the American people as evidence of War Powers. This is word play, abuse of public perception, and the art of deception by definition. Rove claims to stand for moral high ground, strong American principles, and Law. Well he should realize that standing for Habeas Corpus is the Temple Mount of Moral High Ground.

If we were at war. There has not been any official declaration of war. James Baker and Warren Christopher should read the Constitution. Article 1, Section 8: Congress???s list of Responsibility: (Paraphrased): ???Provide for the common defence and general Welfare, regulate Commerce, coin money, Declare War, raise money to Arm and organize Armies, and to make Laws.??? They would notice the duties outlined of Congress and ???declaring war??? is left exclusively to the Congress. Baker believes that the just because the Constitution makes the president commander in chief. Yes the President is commander in chief of the military but this does not give him or her the power to ???declare war.??? The constitution never gives the President that power. Why, a little known concept called co-equal branches of government or the separation of powers. Once Congress ???declares war??? the President is the commander of how the military conducts that war. That is what a commander does, command, not declare. The War Powers Resolution of 1973 was put in place for a good reason. It is there to fortify what is already in the Constitution pertaining to Congress???s power to declare war. If Presidents continue to ignore the War Powers Act Congress should do its job and pass a law that forces the Presidents hand to obey the Law. Congress should act to hold Presidents accountable for ignoring the Constitution; rather than letting them off the hook. Getting rid of the War Powers Act would be giving in to Presidents who have no respect for the Rule of Law. Baker and Christopher should use some logic that includes the enforcement required to obey the Rule of Law, the Constitution. Just because people ignore a law is not a justification for throwing out the law. That is the art of giving in to those who break the law. ???Power makes men wanton???. It intoxicates the mind.??? Logically McCain should be such "War Time President." More than 70% of all the soldiers either enlisted or recruited were Southerner from states south of Mason-Dixon Line. Arizona's is south of M. D. Line and part of the Great Southwest. All through history regardless of whether it is world history or American history, soldiers were led by and fight with the neighbors and friends. Their morals will certainly be heighten that way.

The American President is absolutely right in calling himself a "war president". After all, his middle name is War - George War Bush! (in James Bond 007 style!)

From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'
From Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'
From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'
From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

Wisconsin's unique landmarks once again find themselves in the pages of the latest novel to be presented to readers of history, thrillers and religion in a work that combines all three genres into an adventurous global conspiracy.

The Epoch Point, just released on May 1 and written by Wisconsin native Spencer Zimmerman, is a fictional novel that includes historical facts, certain to intrigue history buffs who are interested in history from the local to the international level, especially as that history thrillingly plays out into what Zimmerman describes as a worldwide "conflict between God and the devil, good and evil."

According to the book's synopsis, the lead character, Robert Davis, is "a young Airman fresh out of Air Force basic training," reflective of Zimmerman's own recent service in the Air Force. "After being held captive in China, (Davis) suddenly finds himself unraveling the most immense conspiracy in history...soon uncovering hidden facts suggesting Russian and Iraqi involvement...discovering the diary of Lee Harvey Oswald...As the clues surface, an evil emerges powerful enough to rewrite the entire history of humanity...before long the conspiracy takes on a supernatural form, marked by [natural disasters] and the wrath of God...Nothing [prepares] (Davis) for the final suspenseful twist the story takes, a da Vinci style revelation that reaffirms his belief in Christ."

Zimmerman, having lived in several locations around Wisconsin, including near Lake Mills and Watertown, incorporated Wisconsin locations and history into his novel, among them a Viking cathedral on Washington Island and the events surrounding Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy. Also mentioned is a small village outside of Burlington, Wisconsin, founded by a Mormon religious leader who proclaimed himself king, the only monarchy to ever occur in the forty-eight continental states in American history. Among the other Wisconsin landmarks in The Epoch Point, and most notably, the famous national landmark Aztalan is discussed at length.

  • Posted By: The_epoch_point @ 07/05/2008 10:09:46 PM

Zimmerman's discussion of Aztalan in his book in part follows what Zimmerman calls the "darker" side of Aztalan, including its cannibalism and religious practices, and the instantaneous disappearance of its thriving population. Zimmerman's writing also seeks to make connections between Aztalan's existence with that of the Minoan civilization from Ancient Greece and Zoroastrian culture of the Middle East. All three peoples had similar beliefs, worshipped fire (one of Aztalan's mounds is believed to have been the abode of an "eternal" flame) and practiced human sacrifice and cannibalism.

Zimmerman noted all of these "obscure (historical) connections," which ultimately inspired him to take the connections and formulate them into an adventurous plot. Writing his book took roughly two years.

The book's chapters are titled after the sixty-six books of the Bible, and the plot progresses as Davis reads through each chapter of the Bible, opening the Bible for the first time in chapter one of The Epoch Point. Each chapter follows a "flashback" style in structure, in which the book's characters experience revelations of historical events and experiences from 4000 B.C. to the present, which allow them to observe how those events contributed to the global conspiracy they are presently confronting. Zimmerman states that the book's events begin on New Year's Eve of 2000, and end on Christmas of 2006.

While writing novels remains at present a hobby for Zimmerman, he already has ideas for a second novel that he anticipates will follow a more scientific fiction path. The Epoch Point is currently available through Amazon.com, and Zimmerman is hoping to get copies of the book into some of Lake Mills's downtown novelty shops.

Comment: Barack Obama had the right as a U.S. Senator to go to look at Iraq. He did not. Then, one of his big vote getters was a promise to get us the hell out of Iraq. Now, nominated, he plans to go to Iraq to see if he needs to change his mind. I voted for him principally because he promised to get us the hell out of there. If he goes there and comes back to endorse staying there, then I reserve the right to flush my Obama vote down the toilet.

HERES PROOF THAT THE OBAMA MESSIAH IS FALLING APART!

This section of DiscoverTheNetworks examines Barack Obama's connections to a number of key individuals and organizations. In some cases, these affiliates are notable for the leftist views and objectives they share with Obama. In other cases, they are notable for their collaboration with Obama in controversial or unethical activities. In all cases, they offer a window into Barack Obama's values and priorities. Taken as a whole, they verify Thomas Sowell's observation that Obama has "spent decades aiding and abetting people who hate America."

Why did the US military cancel a news conference where they were going to display the "Iranian" weapons they found in Iraq? Because there WERE NO IRANIAN WEAPONS to display. Here are links supporting the fact that the weapons found in Iraq did not come from Iran:

    http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2008_05/013695.php
    http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2008/05/fire_next_time.html
    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/babylonbeyond/2008/05/iraq-the-elusiv.html

NOT TO MENTION that the Untied States itself has had a notable role in arming the insurgency. When the US dissolved the Iraqi Army, that flooded Iraq with weapons. More recently the Pentagon admitted that it had lost track of a third of the weapons distributed to Iraqi security forces in 2004-05, totaling 190,000 assault rifles and pistols that are currently on the streets of Iraq. The British paper that published this article got it's information straight from the US Government Accounting Office's public website:
    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/pentagon-admits-190000-weapons-missing-in-iraq-460551.html

Ask yourself, why would America want to pretend that Iran is pushing weapons in Iraq, when actually WE (the USA) has flooded Iraq's streets with weapons? Because Bush wants to declare war on Iran, and just like the fake "WMDs" in Iraq, he needs something to frighten Americans, so he comes out with this BS about Iran killing US soldiers in Iraq. He has also said that Iran is making nuclear weapons, but recent inspections have found NO EVIDENCE of nuclear weapons in Iran. JUST LIKE how repeated inspections found NO EVIDENCE of WMDs in Iraq. The reports of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN inspectors and nuclear experts at the Institute for Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) all agree that Iran DOES NOT have nuclear weapons. The IAEA report states that Iran only has "low enriched uranium, not the highly-enriched uranium necessary to produce a bomb." The ISIS reports states "It is important to note that they do not encompass the full scope of work required for a comprehensive nuclear weapons program. Missing is theoretical work on nuclear weapons, uranium metallurgy, and the development of a neutron initiator." http://www.yirmeyahureview.com/articles/2008/iaea_report_on_iran.htm#_ftn9

In case you think the idea that Bush wants to bomb Iran is reactionary, you should know that John Bolton, former US Ambassador to the UN, recently told FoxNews that he can "definitely envision Bush bombing Iran before he leaves office." By bombing Iran, Bush makes it more likely McCain will be elected. But can the US Treasury, can the US economy stand more war? Even if we could afford it, we don't have the manpower in uniform. You know what that means: draft and conscription. Vote for McCain. Watch your children come home in body bags. Watch America go into a Great Depression.

Dear OnePoke, I am far from being a proponent of Iran, nor am I unaware of the the very real, very horrible problems in that nation itself. In fact, a good close look at Iran, which is controlled by radical right wing Muslims, should remind any American of why we don't want OUR country to be controlled by radical right wing Christians. Separation of church and state is a beautiful thing.

Oh, and, just for the record, Iran is not our enemy. We are not at war with Iran at this time. Save that rhetoric for later, you're going to need it to justify the Bush-McCain circus.

        • Posted By: onepoker @ 07/03/2008 3:50:37 PM

Radical right Muslims and Radical right christians are not the same group. A nice tie in the media has been trying to create for years. The muslims don't even have a Right wing vs Left wing agenda in their system it is just a name painted on them by the left wing media to discredit right wing groups in the USA. It is no more similar than saying the Left wing americans should be kept from power because look what happened when the Nazi (socialist) party took over Germany in the 1930's.

To any Iranians who may be following this thread, I apologize unconditionally for the actions and words of my countrymen. I may have no power to decide the issue personally, but given the chance to express my views, I cannot and will not sign off on this kind of ignorance.
