Skymall, the inflight catalog on most of America???s airlines, is flatly racist. Every picture of a human being in it, for page after page, is of a white human being. Even if only a hand is shown, it is carefully always a white hand. About six times/year, this tradition repeats. In a recent edition, I counted all the people (or parts of people, such as faces, hands, etc.) pictured in the first 100 pages. One young girl may be Asian American. Otherwise, the first 100 pages have images of 114 people. 113 are Caucasians.

Skymall is our most widely distributed catalog, but it is "for whites only." Not only that, it panders to those whites who would be offended by seeing a few people of color in its pages. Skymall could not have done this by accident, Having such a preponderance of white images, given that whites are "only" about 80% of the population of the nation, could happen by chance less than one time in a million. (I did the math.)

I used to be a big fan of Prada, however, after reading about the length of time for them to have a black model on the runway is a shame. It's also a shame that we are living in a new century and still race in America is still a problem. America has not come far from back then and still in fear. Has America learned anything other than fear? Women of the Black race, Asian race, Hispanic race, are known to be the largest group to spend more on products that advertise mostly of the White market. It also a shame that the European country will be the first to be break the barrier of color on the runway and the magazines before the U.S. Beauty is beauty and beautiful! Beauty comes in all colors, just as we humans are all created of all colors.
