This whole argument is all about Right & Left, am I a scientist no, nor do I claim to be, did I research the materials no, can I validate any of them no. So will I attempt to, no. But what I will say is this if in I have to talk to my children or my grandchildren about why no one did anything sooner I can say many spoke up loud but there were many more that were lied to and wanted to believe because they thought it was a package deal religion, politics and global warming. If there was no problem, what harm did it cause? We cleaned up the air quality, made the planet a little nicer. On the flip side if we do nothing we risk turning it into a living hell. Choice seems simple to me one has to much risk the other has little.

A high risk/high reward endeavor, weather modification offers a dilemma not unlike the splitting of the atom. Are the people who are screaming about global warming the same people that were screaming about Y2K? The rhetoric and "Chicken Little Syndrome" seem almost the same. "The world is going to come to an end!" "It's all mankinds fault"

Current technologies which will mature over the next thirty years will offer anyone who has the necessary resources the ability to modify weather patterns and their corresponding effects, at least on the local scale. Current demographic, economic, and environmental trends will create global stresses that provide the impetus necessary for many countries or groups to turn this weather modification ability into a capability. In the US, weather modification will likely become a part of national security policy with both domestic and international applications. Our government will pursue such a policy, depending on its interests, at various levels. These levels could include: unilateral actions, participation in a security framework such as NATO, membership in an international organization such as the UN, or participation in a coalition.......... our national security strategy includes weather modification, its use in our national military strategy will naturally follow. Besides the significant benefits an operational capability would provide, another motivation to pursue weather modification is to deter and counter potential adversaries.

Yes, It has to be Global Warming because apparently (according to some) this has never happened ever before in the history of man. Even the global thawing of the all the ice ages was never this bad.
Yes, tt's the fault of every pop drinking, walking, talking and breathing human, as well as every organized mass population event such as protests, concerts and public gatherings.
It's even the fault of brilliant inventors such as Einstein and the light bulb. The light bulb (according to some) is far more the cause of Global warming than that of the mercury filled, plastic (oil) based case, poison gas filled Compact Flourescent bulb. We can't have simple glass, metal and tunsgsten bulb, for even though none of those elements are toxic, they are a bane to our existence.
Even worse are all the old cars on the road that will soon be disposed of by number of millions to be replaced with all the new cars that are only made of hemp and have these amazing non-polluting batteries - oh, wait - that hasn't happened yet, so there are just going to be millions of cars disposed of (including all that non-biodegradable materials) into our lands to make way for the new cars made of the same materials - and for now, the most highly toxic and polluting super batteries (where the area around the manufacturing cannot produce any living plant or life within 10 miles). But, that's better than those old cars!
Yes, Climate Change (the new concept that unseats the term "global warming" is only because of man (let's forget about the effects of the sun and the ever changing planet, because it's just not a factor - just like the earth use to be flat).
Solution - ever person that believes that we are the cause needs to become the first responders and promise with commitment and absolution to never drink pop, run or exercise (it increases CO2 output), let another plant die, allow the leaves to decay on the ground, or let the lakes convert in temperature. Even better is the need to commit to never allow another forest fire, volcano eruption or for any matter to decay. All of which produce tremendous amounts of CO2. However, they need to also understand that cutting off the CO2 levels also starve the required air of the trees and many other plants around the globe. Better yet, since all of these are beyond the control of man (except to starve the trees locally), the best thing to do is take one last breath - and never breath again. Should also cancel all protests too, for this is a tremendous CO2 concentration event - and hypocrisy.

Hey AudieHo, how can cold air come from the south and warm air come from the north. Think you better review your facts before you speak about them. And to everyone else, nobody is saying global warming is the sole cause of all the bad weather. But it is does add alot to natural bad weather. Jhelman if your going to say that we (the over popullated world) have no effect on global warming and your just fooling yourself to make you feel better. Buy the way maybe we have to many cows (lol) to feed off of.

So very strange. Just the other night I watched a scientist explain how the magnitude of the storms we are seeing was proof that global warming isn't exactly what the alarmist (I like to call them uneducated, dope-smoking hippies) portray it to be. As he explained it, it takes a warm front and a cold front to create a storm. The cold front this year has been pushing up from the equator, which is more evidence that what they say is false. He also cited weather patterns from back in the 1950 which were nearly identical as they are now. He suggested the intensity of the flooding is not due to the weather patterns being unusual, but to the number of dams which had been contructed since the 1950s. He also reference the solar flare activity that will peak in 2012. His were more believable and made more sense than just saying "Hurricanes are more powerful because of glbal warming." This is getting to be borderline public endangerment. People will read this garbage and believe it, then a year or two down the road when it is suggested more dams be built, they will vote for it because they will believe that the dams are not the cause of the flooding but the global warming is.
