Does anyone remember when Al Gore was running for president and he was pandering to the black community. With great wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth he described how he felt the pain of slavery. How it personally affected him. How sharks to this day prowl the slave ship trade routes waiting for lunch to be thrown overboard. Most people realized that although sharks may have a long memory, they don't live 150 years. Gore was the laughing stock of the country. Am I the only one to appreciate a hypocritical, buffoon comedian when I see one?

I remember when the idiot declared he invented the internet, too!

      Buffoon comedy at it's best!

That's right! Gore invented the internet too. Why didn't he get a Nobel prize for that?

It's sad how people BELIEVE that Global Warming is an excuse for people to make money, unfortunitly, those peopel are unconsciously trying to avoid the truth. But guess what? You can't move along with life if you can't face a fact or a truth. If people believe that they could keep on making up excuses, they will witness the diasterous consquences.

Global Warming, indeed is caused by mothernature as well, but those are NATURAL diasters. People need to learn that you can't always blame the causes on someone else, when in fact it's each one of us on earth that is exactly increasing this mess.

I believe it's time to face the truth, and look about for new ideas.
Electric Cars is a great example! Not only convient and you don't have to pay for the over-priced gas prices, by saving money, and as well taking a part of trying to save the planet.

Fossil Fuel is one of the main causes, and let me tell you this: IT'S GONNA RUN OUT!
And if greedy people believe FOSSIL FUEL is avaible somewhere up in the artic or antartica, they are retarded because those places are part of out MAIN FRESH WATER SUPPLIERS!

Reality check; many are making a killing off of this hype. Al Gore for example has made millions off of donations to further the cause even after he admitted to using computer generated effects in his presentations and passing them off as real. Not only that but he received the Nobel Pease prize. He is one who has sought notoriety and he got what he wanted. I agree that we should be more energy conscious and find alternative energy sources; however, using fear is the wrong answer.

I have a question.... do you think China and India really give a crap about global warming?

I don't think so with all the oil they are buying and their lack of human rights support.

Well it sure is amazing that everything that is written in God's word explains and foretold everything that is happening today. It's simply God warning us that soon He will return. Our turning away from Him and allowing all of the abominations that we allow to be permittable is a stinch in God's nostrils. Someday soon He will come back and these things must happen so the Word of God will stand true. I just pray everyone will get ready from Him.!!

You're nuts. Evolve, damn you, evolve! Step away from the caveman club... step away.

As several have pointed out, global warming is a naturally occurring event. However, I do believe we are attributing to the affects but not to the doomsday levels Newsweek and the other liberal, fear mongering rags are trying to portray. And all these global warming fanatics like Al Gore, Schwartzenflopper, and Kennedy are hypocritcal pigs flying back in forth across the country in their private jets spewing out thousands of pounds of polutants in the air; their mansions consuming 20-30 times more energy than the average American but they want US to cut back on consumption, ride bikes or take buses to work etc.

To top off they pull the "carbon off-set" scam which is nothing but paying for the "use" of trees ALREADY PLANTED, not adding to the forrest. And here's another shocker (not); Al Gore owns his own carbon off-set company! In addition, most of the millions he's made since leaving his office is through ownerships, partnerships and investments in guess what, alternative fuel type companies. From an old salesman, fear selling can really pay off especially if you're Al Gore.

P.S. Someone should deflate that windbag. He's bloated, walking blimp of hot air (or green house gas) himself!

Clearly it is plausible that the planet is in crisis (or rather humanity's well-being on this planet). It may even be likely given the industrial outputs of OTHER nations (CHINA) who are enjoying new industrialization. But to use a couple of isolated occurrences as "proof" that the global temperature is rising is outright naive. By your reckoning, one "Noachian" downpour will occur every 20 years. And if it takes 25 years I will expect you also to write an article on how the earth is then freezing. If you are going to argue the point, use some common sense! The logic upon which you base your "proof" is the same as claiming all hell is breaking loose because you caught two fish in the same hour. If I were you I would be embarrassed.

The big question isn't the global temperature but the global food supply. We have been using up stores for the last several years. Looks llike reduced corn acres, reduced soy bean acres, a poor wheeat crop in Texas and Kansas, the Irriwaddi rice crop had to be hit, central China where the earthquake hit is grain producing and there is a nasty wheat stem rust in Africa and the Middle East.

    Stupid. Absolutely stupid.
    A) Prove that we really know what a 500-year weather event looks like in this country. We haven't even been keeping records that long.
    B) More rain? Higher temps and longer growing seasons? Sounds like plants, and subsequently every living creature that feeds on plants, are loving life. It's arrogant of us to believe that this climate is the most ideal for life on this planet simply because it's the climate we have now.
    C) Which is the bigger threat: changing temps or rogue meteors? More living creatures survive the temperature fluxuations that Earth has been experiencing for the last 4 BILLION YEARS than have survived the extinction level events brought about by cosmic debris hitting us. We've got more pressing problems.
    D) Didn't Mt. St. Helen's 1980s eruption spew more CO2 into the atmosphere than humans have released during the entire industrial revolution? Hmmm... I seem to remember it LOWERING global temps...
    E) Let's bear in mind that the Earth is in no danger from humans. No matter what we do, the Earth, and life in some form will continue after we're gone. It's humans who are in danger. We need to focus on saving one another before we begin to worry about saving the planet or the animals.

  • Posted By: mightybrick @ 07/03/2008 11:39:14 AM

Global warming.... what a joke. No one is able to say what the perfect or normal temperature of the Earth should be. Was the temperature in 1950 the perfect temperature? 1970? 1870? What "normal" temperature should we be at? Who's to say. The fact is, the temperature and climate of the Earth have been changing constantly for millions of years without human involvement. What is the perfect climate? These "scientists" are arrogant to attribute such power to change the climate to humans. The fact is the sun and it's constantly changing output is responsible for the changing temperatures and climate of Earth. We are in a period of relative solar inactivity, which is why temperatures are lower. During the 1990s, solar activity was higher, which caused the higher temperatures, which got the media and "scientists" in a tizzy.

Okay, so the human animal has caused all of the so called "Global Warming". HUH! How do you explaine all of the now deserts that existed before the human began walking this earth? What made the Mediterainium area of the world a desert and deposited so much decomposed matter that created the oil we use so much? If our leaders and captains of industry were not driven by ways to derive mone money from people, maybe, and a silm maybe people could get on the band wagon. Former VP Al Gore's film purportedly about global warming was very much a story about him with a few dramatic inserts about what he called global warming. Where is his credability? GIVE US ALL a break. Globale warming is driven by an emerging new way to sell something and take more money from people.

    • Posted By: fuzzpuss @ 07/03/2008 11:32:36 AM

Oh we have to cut back on Ethanol because the Mexicans can't make corn tortillas because theres not enough corn for them.We have to cut back?Since when did the Mexicans stop growing their own corn?Oh I forgot,we subsidized them and now they're too lazy to grow their own food.

By the way, Going-to-the-Sun Highway isn't open yet, latest since 1943 and that was because of WWII. Sounds like an un presidented global castrophe to me.

Heres an idea that know one has thought of,...dont build on a flood plain...You get what you pay for water and mud.

Global Warming is a complete lie. Co2 has never been proven to effect the Earths atmosphere and the largest producer of Co2 is the OCEAN!!! What are you going to do about that? These are some of the same misguided scientest's that said we were headed for another Ice Age when I was a kid. Truth is that they haven't the slightest clue as to how the Earth regenerates itself. Such arrogance is at the least laughable and at the worst very dangerious. This just a attempt to raise money to fund more of there worthless research.

    • Posted By: couchbomb @ 07/03/2008 10:06:37 AM

Its pretty hard to prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt anymore. Especially something on such a large scale. It is a FACT however, that the higher the C02 content of the air, the warmer the temperature will be. If you dont believe it, do the old bottle experiment. Now wether or not you think this translates to the scale of the earths atmosphere is another story.

      • Posted By: pHilgert @ 07/03/2008 10:28:27 AM

Exactly! That is why one of the highest recoreded Average Tempatures was at the turn of the century. Before the industrial revolution had begun! Co2 from cars, industry etc. will never amount to the amounts that are put off by the ocean, animal and plant life. So to report that our lifestyes are the cause of the distruction of the planet is just plain wrong.

        • Posted By: couchbomb @ 07/03/2008 11:28:21 AM

"Co2 has never been proven to effect the Earths atmosphere "

          - So which one is it? Does Co2 effect the atmosphere or not?

Where is the government to help these flooded peolpe, George Bush made it rain, send out Hollywood and blow the levees..........AAAAAUUUGGGHHH

This is absurd, we now are showing global stabilization to cooling, there hasn't been a hurricane hit the US for two years. Every day in Montana that it is one degree above the average the newscasters go nuts, yesterday it was 10 degrees below average and not a word. It is out of hand.

  • Posted By: mutable @ 07/03/2008 11:26:50 AM

False! Don't get me wrong. I strongly believe we should take REASONABLE steps to limit all types of polution. The problem lies with the definition of "Reasonable". "Enviromentalists" are typically quite unreasonable which makes it difficult to find a middle ground. As a result, the war continues .............

  • Posted By: cna0705 @ 07/03/2008 11:26:13 AM

Lets over throw Congress, Senate and all of the politicians getting a big fat retirement package they don't pay for! They make this stuff up as they go so that it protects their rears in their time of need and greed

  • Posted By: rick39 @ 07/03/2008 11:25:10 AM

Mr. Gore dosen't have to CUT BACK. He has enough money to BUY carbon off-sets. What a JOKE.

What a bunch of meadow muffins! About 15 years ago a prehistoric cave man was discovered in the alps. A result of the retreating alpine glacier. The global warming maniacs pointed to warming due to industrialized nations burning fossil fuels and blah blah blah as the cause of the melting glacier. Yet, to date NO ONE has said how that 10,000 year old frozen cave man got to be under the glacier in the first place. Answer - the glacier wasn't there then either! They had global warming 10,000 years ago - Yikes does Al know about this? Wake up people this is another scam to put yet another layer of government control on to the people of the world. And it will be well funded and run by a bunch of liars, crooks, con men, and thieves who will, for the right price look the other way. Unless of course it is you, heating your home with fossil fuels and then you will likely have to pay for your carbon foot print. Don't be stupid people this is a shell game to put a machine in place that will have to be fed regularly, often, and likely in increasing amounts until the end of time. And from your pocket book via taxation.
