Barack Obama has not and will not bring any positive change. It is already obvious that Obama puts on a big show of charades and will say and do anything to get votes. There is no way of telling what he will actually do if he should get elected as president. He has done very little as a senator , i.e. voting present much of the time. Therefore, why would anyone want to vote for Obama? I certainly will not vote for Obama, but I will make my vote against Obama count. In my opinion, Obama cannot be trusted.

Lets stop calling it flip-flopping, it makes the public look idiotic. The phrase is rank with stupidity. Lets call it what it is, political expediency, and admit every politician engages in it. That is, after all, what makes them politicians.

    ***** ATTENTION DEMOCRATS *******

China is looking for one more highly inexperienced demkat to join their elite Flip-Flopping Team scheduled to perform on day one of the Olympic Opening Ceremonies.

Hey Democrats! Do you know any Green Senators that fit the bill?

CC- you support McCain, correct? If so, why not post positive tokens and comments that support him instead of constantly posting negatives about Obama? I have noticed you don't smear him as many here do. Thank you. What can I say to get you on our side, CC? Is there any chance you would vote Obama?

      • Posted By: Concerned Ctzn @ 07/09/2008 11:42:44 AM

I have! On many occasions!! But most Dems just kinda-sorta gloss over things like JM's strong points. Unless non-BO supporters post something about your Messiah, whether negative or positive, you folks won't read it. And even if you do, it goes in one eye and out the other. Let's face it ... anybody that has been fully Obamatized will not change their vote. His liberal message is very powerful to those that believe in the democratic platform (positions/ideologies). I DON'T! In fact, he's just using the same old tired line that both party's use after eight years of opposing party rule. In other words, if the situation was reversed and we were coming to the end of eight long years of Democratic rule, a lot of folks would be screaming for change as well. "Heck! We don't care what kind of change--just change!!!" Don't you remember 2000? At the end of Wild Bill's term, most people were screaming for change. "Please! Let's bring back honor, morality and integrity to the W.H. Well, "W" managed to BS most of us--most importantly the bought-off electorate--and the rest is history. So! Good or bad, the vicious cycle continues. If BO manages to steal the hearts of the electorate, he too will slip into the W.H. whether he ends up winning the pop vote or not. I hate to say this, but you Dems only need to make this race close and your Messiah will be assured the presidency. Like I've said before, if this race is close come election day, the EC will crown BO the winner just to put a Dem in office so as to fulfill their usual duty of raising taxes. The Dems and Repubs play us little people like a fine tuned violin. Both party's laugh at all of us. All the fighting! It's a big joke to them!!! They want us fighting! That's how they maintain control. Divide & Conquer! Trust me! That's why for the most part we have a two party system. They play off one another brilliantly! Why do you think I'm an Independent? Cause I have lost respect for both party's. Like a lot of folks here, I usually just vote for the less of the two BS'ers. For me! That happens to be Johnny Mac!

Bottom line: Other than the duty and/or obligation to maintain law and order, I don't believe that Big Gov. owes me a thing. Obviously Democrats feel differently. But I don't necessarily agree with all of the Republican Party line either. I'm an Independent thinker and to be perfectly honest with you P, I just don't believe any of BO's hope and change rhetoric. Sorry! I just don't!

When it comes to politics, I've lived on this planet long enough to know the difference between a big BS'er and a little to moderate BS'er. BO's the former and JM's the latter. Peace!

I am very interested in your candidates strong points? so belly up to the bar CC and lets see what you got

          • Posted By: Concerned Ctzn @ 07/09/2008 8:19:44 PM

            Hey DW,

Here's the bottom line FOR ME! John McCain '08. He's the only candidate that has both Military and Political experience. Contrary to what the mainstream media would like you to believe, John would like nothing more than to end the Iraq war ASAP. But unfortunately things aren't that easy sometimes. What Americans want AND what's reality in terms of World Peace are two different things. The bottom line is John is the candidate that we can count on to get the bulk of our troops home in the quickest, yet most responsible way possible.

Democrats, you might as well get used to the fact that we have already set-up shop in Iraq and we are going to have troops stationed there for many years to come---regardless of who gets elected!

That's why I have a lot of respect for McCain and absolutely no respect for BO's foreign policy spill. At least JM is being honest when he says we are going to have peace-keeping troops in Iraq for the next 50 - 100 years. WE ARE! And BO knows that, but he's playing you Dems like a bunch of cheap ___________. His latest BS talk about a time-table for withdrawal is purely political.

Anybody that thinks that JM will NOT implement an optimistic (best case scenario), "top-secret," time-table for withdrawal is simply naive. He will! The war veteran just won't announce it publically to the enemy like Sen. Green will. Gee, talk about being green and naive to the real world. This guy scares me!

McCain is a strong, admirable, man of character and integrity. Hussein is a crack smokin', Jr Senator, on the down-low.

            NOBAMA!!!

HR, if McCain has such good character why did he cheat on, and then divorced his poor helpless disfigured and crippled wife? He left her when she needed her husband the most. How can that be a person of good character and integrity? Oh, don't get me wrong, I am grateful for his service to our country and his heroism but what he did to his first wife, was cruel and selfish and selfserving..

    • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 07/10/2008 1:08:28 PM

McCain has far more experience at it.

  • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/09/2008 10:48:19 AM

Sirhc posted below that McCain voted against Martin Luther King Day twice back in the 90's. I believe it. Now, I suspect McCain may be a racist!

    • Posted By: HolyRoller @ 07/09/2008 5:22:46 PM

And Hussein voted twice, against the born alive abortion, child protection act. This makes him a co-conspirator to murder. PLUS, he was most likely involved in the whacking, of Donald Young, in Chicago. He has no respect for life.

No one can force a woman to have an abortion. That is her decision only. Women abort their babies, not politicians.

        • Posted By: loriw @ 07/14/2008 1:16:15 AM

Pia, I am not supporting HR's position but I have to disagree with your statement "no one can force a woman to have an abortion" . Consider a young girl who becomes pregnant at 15yrs old, she might not yet have formalized her opinions on abortion but her parents who do not want an unplanned pregnancy in their unmarried daughter to "ruin her life" and embarrass them I could see the parents/ family putting pressure on her to have an abortion, a decision she may regret later.

McCain, Hillary and Obama were walking down a Washington DC street when they came upon a homeless man.

McCain gave the man his business card and told him to come to his office for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and gave it to the man.

Hillary gave him directions to the welfare office. She then reached into John McCain???s pocket and got out $20. She kept $15 for her administrative fees and gave the homeless man $5.

Barak told him to ???Have hope???change is coming?????? and gave him nothing.

Now do you understand the difference?

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/11/2008 1:42:05 PM

Barack Obama took the homeless man home to feed, clothe him and shelter him before helping him find a job.

Comment: "Barack Obama took the homeless man home to feed, clothe him and shelter him before helping him find a job".

You poor thing. You so badly need to believe in this man. You are going to be so very disappointed when you find out he is a fraud! Please read up on the events of the past two to three weeks.

Barack Obama defines himself as a "mirror in which people see in him what they want to see in him".

Take heed of the man's own words for nobody knows this man as well as he knows himself. He is telling you that he has the ability to appear to be whatever people want or need to see in him. This is a total lack of identity; ;a lack of committment; a lack of defrinition. It's little wonder we have such a hard time finding out what Barack Obama stands for. It's possible even he doesn't know the answer to this question:

BARACK OBAMA: WHAT DO YOU STAND FOR? WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IN?

        Hopefully one day he can give a straight answer, .not at all like the statement he made when addressing lesbians and gays a few months ago;

"I believe in equal rights for lesbians and gays, but I don't believe in Gay marriage".

This man says two opposite things in the same sentence.

This is NOT IDEALISM! It is called "DISHONESTY"!

Yeah judgment like voting NO for the NEW GI BILL, Hey Mr. McCain who are we suposed to be killing in Iraq, sunni or shia? What's a Kurd? And even though the US weapons inspectors said there were NO weapons, expolsives, or ammunition from Iran, and the latest NIE said Iran had backed away from uranium enrichment...why are you deterimined to take this country into another, a third war? Is it because of your "experience" and "Judgment"?

Loriw, you are a McCain supporter, are you not? Please feel free to defend him and try to post any positive tokens in your support without having to smear my candidate, Obama. You posted down below that I am the Newsweek cheerleader and that I don't post any opinions. You are wrong of course. Now go ahead and post in support of McCain. Have you anything positive about him to share with us except for his heroism?

    • Posted By: Concerned Ctzn @ 07/09/2008 11:53:56 AM

      Hey P,

With all due respect, please provide us with a "SPECIFIC LIST" of why you support Obama. I too want to know if I missing something here. Thanks!

      • Posted By: Nins @ 07/10/2008 1:15:04 AM

Pia has been on this blog for several months and in that time she has given many reasons for why she is supporting Obama. Furthermore, Pia is a positive influence here, generally pleasant and polite to other bloggers with few exceptions, and those few exceptions have been when other bloggers went after her.

Lori has been on this blog for a few months (not quite as long as Pia). Lori used to say the most vituperative things about Clinton, she practically dripped venom. Since the primaries are over and Clinton is no longer a target, Lori has turned her energy to posting derogatory comments on the blogs written by Obama supporters.

I think that Pia has a good point. Lori never seems to be able to say anything in support of her candidate. I for one would like to hear Lori's actual views of the candidates. Isn't that why we are here? Pia made her poisition clear months ago, Lori has yet to do so. She says that she is undecided, but that seems hard to believe given the amount of invective she heaps on Obama and his supporters.

So, Lori, I second Pia in asking you to elucidate the reasons why you support McCain.

        • Posted By: loriw @ 07/12/2008 7:04:11 PM

          Nins and Pia,
For the umpteenth time, I DON"T HAVE A CANDIDATE YET. I'm hoping if I shout it this time you'll hear it.
I need the candidates to pick their VP's and to have some well moderated televised debates.
I have not changed my position that I detest both Hillary and Bill and will not vote for Obama if he names Hillary as his VP. You know that I am perturbed that Obama has hired Hillary's campaign staff and is now campaigning with them. The Clintons are politics as usual only worse and I do not see how joining forces with the Clintons meshes with his platform of change. I have asked people here to explain how this fits with Obama's Change campaign and no one has said anything more than he needs her to raise $ for his campaign. I have not bashed Obama in any post and I don't like McCain enough to sing his praises. I have issues that I like and dislike about both candidates. I plan to take until November to make up my mind (which is open and that is more than I can say for a lot of people on these blogs) unless...Obama makes Hillary his VP. If that happens you can count on my vote going to McCain because I do not want the Clintons anywhere near the White House ever again! Apart from that.... may the best man win!

          • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/13/2008 8:15:51 AM

Thank you lori. I respect your honesty. I hope you in return can respect Obama and Hillary and her campaign people for having joined forces. That's what loyal party members do during elections, they come together for the sole purpose of defeating the opponent.

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/10/2008 1:06:45 PM

Thank you, Nins, it's very kind of you to go out of your way for me.

      • Posted By: Concerned Ctzn @ 07/10/2008 10:04:07 AM

Good morning Pia, I'd really like you to repost your reasons for voting for BO if you don't mind. Just wondering if you have a specific list.

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/10/2008 1:34:18 PM

Well, good afternoon, CC. Sorry, I am replying late, I was swamped with work yesterday.
I see my candidate and I are getting some attention here and of course I am enjoying it. I want Obama to be elected and I have no doubts whatsoever that he will be. He is the better candidate, bar none. I am not going to get into specifics that you may be interested in like his stance on abortion or his middle east policy or healthcare, his experience whether as community organizer and Illinios state senator and of course the excellent campaign he has run etc... because right now that is not of major importance to me. My top priority now is the Iraq war. Period. I voted for he president twice and I have posted this here several times and have been beaten up over it, because of the war in Iraq, seriously, I have. I have actually been personally blamed for the war because of my vote. I am not saying this out of guilt, I am saying it out of a feeling of responsibility, but I strongly believe that the time has come to get out and let the Iraqis fight it out no matter how long it takes. The time has come for the Iraqis to take responsibility for their own country and their people. We need to leave and I am not saying we cut and run but I know that Obama will have a plamn do that sooner than McCain who months ago mentioned staying in for another 100 years or however long it takes to finish up the mission. Recently he admitted it may take only another 10 years. Only?

I did not know about McCain insulting Chelsea Clinton but I'm not surprised. The man is notorius for being callous and cruel. After all, he did cheat on his crippled and disfigured wife and then left her for a rich younger woman. The current wife gets poor treatment too, being called names like trollop and another unmentionable name. I hope women voters think long and hard before considering voting McCain.

    McCain-Killing and Drilling now
"Handsome"-kNOws it will have no immediate effect on prices and infact would take years and caot billions to even get to, cost passed on to the US in dollars on the gallon, and if there ever was oil found, NO promise from any of the US oil folks to NEVER RAISE PRICES AGAIN ABOVE 1$ a gal.

McCain-Nucular Energy Plants Now but also thinks that NE plants have root and grow in the ground
"Handsome"- tells George Bush the word is NUCLEAR...

McCain-Clean Coal Energy Now, thinks this means polishing all the little pieces of coal, insists this would be a great job for illegals.
"Handsom"-NO problem with it at all, unless you ask Sean Hannity.

McCain-Shale Oil Now, thinks that Shale is another faction of epople from Iraq, sunni Shia, Shale, and "What the hell is a Kurd."
"Handsome"-NO problem here either, wow he's on the ball.

McCain-Independent from Middle East Oil or stay in Iraq for 100 yrs? What ever comes first
Hussein-kNOws, they are out of oil in Saudi in 2015, let them dry up and blow away. along with the oil a$$es here.

McCain-American Hero, crashed 5 fighters before being shot down, cried "my daddy is an admiral" when he was caught, willingly did 32 propagnada films for the VC, earning the nickname ":Song Bird" (google it)because as soon as he was caught he started singing for the enemy, lied to America's POWs when he said he wouild never politicize his status as a "pow", and then never stopped doing it. Turned his back on our troops on the recent GI Bill Vote, where he no showed and no voted because he was to afraid to face the music and just vote against it...my hero.
Hussein-Not only out of power but DEAD and even though that was our "mission" we are still in Iraq and our children are still sying,

The race for the White House is getting a bit closer. The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows Barack Obama???s lead over John McCain down to a statistically insignificant single percentage point, 43% to 42%. Prior to today, Obama had enjoyed at least a four-point advantage every day since Hillary Clinton dropped out of the race over a month ago. This is the first time his support has fallen below the 45% level since May 31.

    NOBAMA!!!

  • Posted By: sirhc @ 07/09/2008 7:39:40 AM

The reasons McCain will lose-and it maybe a blowout

    1. NO ECONOMIST IS SUPPORTING HIS ECONOMIC PLAN. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. HE IS NOW EMBRACING THE TAX CUTS FOR THE TOP 1% HE VOTED AGAINST IN 2001, 2003 STATING THEY WERE FINANCIALLY IRRESPONSIBLE, MADE THE RICH-RICHER AT THE EXPENSE OF THE MIDDLE CLASS. NOW HE'S OKAY WITH THEM? A MATTER OF FACT HE WILL MAKE THEM BIGGER?

    2. HE SUPPORTS DRILLING WHICH NO ONE WOULD GET ANY POSITIVE AFFECTS FROM FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS -ONLY THEOIL EXECS WILL MAKE MONEY NOW. THE OIL PRICE IS HIGH BECAUSE OF HIS BUDDY BILL GRAMM WHO INVENTED THE ENRON LOOPHOLE, OIL EXECX, SPECULATORS AND IT'S NOT A CONCIDENCE THAT THERE ARE 2 OIL BOYS IN THE WHITHOUSE.

    3. MAYBE CIGARETTES WILL KILL THE IRANIANS, BOMB, BOMB, BOMB, IRAN....ETC. HIS CALLOUSNESS TOWARDS DEATH AND WAR IS REMINISCENT OF BUSH GOING INTO IRAQ. WITHOUT A DOUBT-HE WILL GO INTO IRAN AS PRESIDENT RATHER IT'S A GOOD IDEA OR NOT. SO WE WOULD BE IN IRAQ AND IRAN WITH PRESUMABLY NO REASON. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THAT WILL COST US IN LIVES AND BILLIONS OF DOLLARS?!

    4. A 0 RATING ON WOMEN'S RIGHTS. HE EVEN SAID HE WON'T FIGHT PRO LIFERS ON RAPE AND INCEST.

    5. HE VOTED AGAINST THE MLK DAY-TWICE IN THE 90'S.

    6. THE BIRDS OF A FEATHER ARGUEMENT IS HILARIOUS BECAUSE MCCAIN SOUGHT HAGEE AND PARSELY ENDORSEMENT "AFTER" THEY SAID CATHOLICISM WAS A "CULT" AND "THE GREAT WHORE". IT'S NOT A RELATIONSHIP FROM DECADES BACK WHERE SOMEONE MAY HAVE GROWN MORE AND MORE WAYWARD. ALSO-LOOK UP MCCAIN'S CRAZY NUTCASE FRIEND -G. GORDON LIDDY.

Now, for me I pick McCain over Obama. I can't really praise either one. I think we screwed ourselves all around by putting these two chuckleheads in this position. But, although it has come to be a cliche, it is a matter of the lesser of two evils for me. I personnally feel that Obama is way too far to the extreme liberal left. I had the chance to talk to McCain while we protected him in Iraq. He is more intelligent than most give him credit for in these blogs. (look a compliment). But he too has some extreme ideas. So I am back to peg one.... pick the one that I feel will be better for the country. (Not that either one is great). As a side note, I really haven't seen too many praises for Obama from anyone either. The main focus seems to be tearing down the other guy, not selling the best guy. Even the posts which attempt to paint Obama as "good" doesn't do it for me. Many of the philosophies expressed only strengthens my resolve against him. As bad as Carter (or even Ford) was, I just can't remember any presidential candidates as being this bad of a choice.... (Nixon kind of got the shaft simply because he got caught doing what they all did anyway... but at least under him our relations with China were going pretty well...)

He he, I will have the last laugh in Nov. though! But seriously CC, tell me why you want McCain? What can he do for you that Obama would not or could not. What can Obama do now to get you to consider to support him? I believe you may already be thinking about voting Obama.

          • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 07/09/2008 10:17:02 PM

It goes back to what I see as marxist, socialist, communist philosophy. The things Obama says he wants to do, the things he supports. That is what makes the difference for me. I don't really care much for McCain, but at least he has a semblance of keeping our country a democracy rather than a socialized country. Granted, one man is not going to change things to that extreme, but when one appears to lean in a crazy direction, I for one tend to steer away from him....

1 - Obama has no better economic plan. His "taxing" of everyone will actually make life harder
2 - Drilling may not provide "NOW" benefits, maybe it will take 8 years. But if we continue to do nothing, when do you think it will ever be fixed?
3 - Iran? Iran just test fired a missile that can reach Israel. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25596779. Has everyone forgotten the US Embassy Hostaged in the late 70's in ... IRAN? These people haven't exactly been the most hospitable towards the US.
4 - Women'r rights? This is a moral issue that we will never agree with. It is more of one of those scenareos where a person wants to engage in an act and not take responsibility for the outcome. What about the life of the child? This could go around and around and never be resolved and should not even be an issue since we will never agree. But, one comment... "It is easier for woman to run with dress up than for man to run with pants down" Don't want the consequences, use protection or abstain...
5 - MLK day? Who cares about the vote? It is a holiday so what is the issue?
7 - One thing to have friends who think differently. It is entirely another issue to spend 20 yrs going to a preacher that preaches hatred (and was his "Mentor" and "Spiritual Advisor". Apples to Oranges here.

        1. YOUR RESPONE WAS WEAK. WHY IS IT A SLEW OF ECONOMIST ARE BACKING OBAMA'S PLAN MORE THAN " I DON'T KNOW THE ECONOMY" MCCAIN? ADD TO THAT-YOU ARE WRONG-95% OF AMERICANS(WHICH IS MIDDLE CLASS AND OR LOWER) WILL HAVE TAX BREAKS WITH OBAMA'S PLAN. IT'S ON FACTCHECK. ORG

        2. OKAY-TELL THEM TO DRILL ON THE 68,000 ACRES THEY LEASE BUT WON'T TOUCH. WHY THEY WON'T TOUCH IT? BECAUSE THEY WOULD MAKE MOOOOORE BILLIONS DRILLING OFFSHORE. EVENTHOUGH THERE IS AT LEAST 10 YEARS+ WORTH OF OIL IN THOSE UNTOUCHED LEASED LANDS. THAT'S CALLED LEAGLIZE EXTORTION AND FOOLS ARE FALLING FOR IT.

        3. SO WHAT! DID THEY SHOOT THEM AT US? ISREAL HAS 120 NUKES-IRAN HAS 0. TELL THEM TO DEFEND THEIR ONSELVES. HAVEN'T WE GOTTEN INTO ENOUGH TROUBLE GETTING INTO OTHER PEOPLE'S MATTERS?! I DON'T KNOW IF YOU NOTICED BUT WE HAVE OUR OWN PROBLEMS. WE CAN' EVEN AFFORD ANOTHER WAR-CHINA IS BANKROLLING THE FREAKIN IRAQ WAR. IS ISREAL THE 51ST STATE? WHEN DID THEY START PAYING US TAXES?

        4. SO IT SHOULD BE LAW IF A 13 YEAR OLD GIRL FOR INSTANCE GETS KIDNAPPED AND GANGRAPPED AND BECOMES PREGNANT SHE HAS TO KEEP THE CHILD? THAT'S WHAT IT MEANS.......

        5. BEING ONE OF THE ONLY PEOPLE TO VOTE AGAINST IT TWICE(AMONGST VOTING FOR APARTHIED IN AFRICA) IN THE 90'S SHOW A SEVER LACK OF JUDGEMENT-HE ADMITS THIS. WHY VOTE FOR A HOLIDAY THAT WOULD SHOW RESPECT TO A MAN WHO WAS ANTI-VIOLENCE, SUPER PEACEFUL, THAT DID NOT SEE COLOR, THAT FOUGHT FOR EVERYONE'S RIGHTS WHEN ALMOST AN ENTIRE COUNTRY HATED HIM AND GOT ASSASSINATED IN BROAD DAYLIGHT BECAUSE OF HIS COURAGE? IF YOU DON'T KNOW AND YOU ARE RETIRED MILITARY THEN SHAME ON YOU. EVEN MCCAIN CALLS IT NOW HIS WORST ERROR...............DOES HE MEAN IT IS THE QUESTION?

        6. HOW DO YOU KNOW HE PREACHED LIKE THAT FOR 20 YEARS EVERY SUNDAY? HOW DO YOU KNOW OBAMA WAS THERE EVERY SUNDAY OR EVEN MOST SUNDAYS WHEN HE'S NOT THERE DURING ANY OF THOSE SKITS? HANNITY KEPT DRILLING THIS STORY AND NOW HE'S GETTING DRILLED FOR ONE OF HIS CLOSE FRIENDS -NEO-NAZI HAL TURNER-FRIENDS WHO THINK DIFFERENTLY DON'T CALL ANOTHER RELIGION A CULT OR A WHORE....ALSO G. GORDON LIDDY IS A SERIOUS FELON AMONGST DEMANDING THE KILLING OF U.S. PRESIDENTS.....MAINLY THOUGH-NO MAN SHOULD BE JUDGED BY ANOTHER MAN'S WORDS OR ACTIONS.....SHOULD ALL CATHOLICS LEAVE THEIR CHURCH BECAUSE THEIR PRIESTS HAD BEEN RAPPING LITTLE ALTER BOYS FOR DECADES? THE THOUGHT PROCESS IS RETARDED.

seeing how most of your response was continuation of rhetoric, I won't even adress most of it. But, please tell us what "Slew of economists" back Obama's plan. We can probably come up with another "Slew" who disagree. His kind of taxation has NEVER worked. Small government is the only way they can help us. Small government and reduced spending. As for not shooting at us... if that is your reasoning for not being wary of them, then you are more nieve to real life than I thought. I don't know if you have noticed, but we weren't the ones who took Iranians hostage from their embassy (unprovoked by us I might add). How quickly people forget history. How simple a life to think... oh, they didn't do it to us so lets not worry. Would you argue that we should have not been involved in WWII in Europe? Hitler never attacked us. Your exaggeration about the young girl being raped is also laughable. Of course there are situations when abortion would be necessary and even justified. But this "Partial birth abortion" you crackheads keep pushing is beyond rediculous. For most abortions, you are talking about people willingly engaging in sexual activities but don't want to be responsible. Then you pull this crap about some 13yr old raped girl to try to prove your point. Way to go playing on fears and emotions, you liberals really have that talent perfected. At any rate, most of your responses borderline on extreme to justify a norm. Maybe actually living in the real world rather than watching TV would serve you better.

          • Posted By: sirhc @ 07/10/2008 7:34:27 AM

1.NO -YOU CANNOT FIND ANY ECONOMIST THAT SUPPORTS MCCAIN'S PLAN OVER OBAMA'S-NOT ONE.
            2. YOU ARE WRONG-THAT TAXATION WORKED IN THE 90'S VERY WELL. THE MCBUSH TAX CUTS HAVE NEVER WORKED. BUSH'S OWN FATHER CALLED THIS VODOO ECONOMIC. TAXES FOR THE TOP 1% DURING WARTIME-GENIUS!! THAT'S WHY NO PRESIDENT HAD EVER DONE IT BEFORE THIS GUY.

            3. I DON'T FORGET HISTORY MUCH LIKE THE RIGHT HAS FORGOTTEN THAT BIN LADEN DID 911 AND NOT SADDAM OR IRAN. I DON'T FORGET THAT DURING SADDAM'S WORSE ACTIONS WE WERE FRIENDLY WITH SADDAM AND HE WOULDN'T HAVE HAD AS MUCH POWER AS HE GAINED WITHOUT RONALD REAGAN'S HELP. MY POINT IS ISREAL IS THE SUPER POWER -SUPER-POWER-THEY CAN WIPE IRAN OFF THE MAP TODAY. THIS IS NOT NAZI GERMANY. IF WE DEFENDED EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IN THIS SITUATION WE WOULD BE IN AFRICA(LIKE ZIMBABWAE) FOREVER. BESIDES-IT WAS A RESPONSE TO ISREAL'S FLY OVER A MONTH AGO.

            4. I WORKED BY A WOMAN'S SHELTER. YOU PROBABLY DON'T BELIEVE HOW MANY GIRL'S AND WOMEN GET PREGNATED OFF RAPE-BUT I DO. MCCAIN STATING-"HE WOULDN'T FIGHT PRO LIFERS ON INCEST AND RAPE" IS THAT-WTF ELSE COULD IT MEAN?! ADD THAT HIS 0 RATING ON WOMEN'S RIGHTS AND I UNFORTUANTELY BELIEVE HIM. DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY GIRL'S GET RAPED, HUMILIATED AND DISTRAUGHT, DON'T WANT TO TELL ANYONE AND ALMOST CARRY THE CHILD FULL TERM? READ A "F'N" BOOK.

I COME WITH FACTS-YOUR GARBAGE IS PURE RIGHT RHETORIC. ANSWER THIS-AFTER 2001 YOU HAD A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT, CONGRESS AND EVEN CONSERVATIVE LEANING SUPREME COURT-COULD'VE DONE ANYTHING YOU WANTED(DRILLED, OVERTURN ROE V. WADE....ETC-WHAT DID THEY DO? WHAT DID THEY DO BESIDES "F" UP THE COUNTRY?

FOR SOME REASON THEY PULLED THE ARTICLE RE: JOHN MC CAIN'S COMMENT ON SOCIAL SECURITY RATHER QUICKLY. SO I THOUGHT I'D REPOST HERE:

McCain: Social Security funding now 'a disgrace'
McCain says Social Security funding is a disgrace that must be fixed, but offers no remedies
    AP
    Jul 9, 2008

Comment: Re: McCains latest comment on Social Security

Speaking to reporters on his campaign bus Wednesday in Ohio, McCain went into greater detail. Young workers, he said, "are paying into a system that they won't receive benefits from on the present track that it's on. That's the point. I don't think it's fair. I think it's terrible."

    My comment:

With all due respect sir, don't you dare think about screwing with and/or privatizing SS. Let's face it; ever since I was a little toddler, both Dems and Repubs have been using the same old tired SCARE TACTICS about SS. Please! Just stop it!!!

You folks have been saying that SS is gonna run out money, go bankrupt, needs an overhaul, yada, yada, yada ... ever since I can remember. And I'm an old fart! It's been the same old sorry line: "If we don't do anything now SS is gonna go bankrupt by the year 19 ___. If we don't do anything right, right now SS is gonna go bankrupt by 20 __." Yeah okay! Politicians just keep extending dooms day. What a joke! Bottom line for me: Just leave it alone!

If freakin' politicians would just stop robbing the SS piggybank every time they need a little extra cash for something (pet projects?), SS would be okay.

Personally, although I have a private retirement fund, I like the fact that young kids pay into the system to help-out their elders when they need it most---the golden years. If someone has worked and contributed to SS for 35 + years, I think that person deserves to get back what he or she paid into the system. What the hells wrong with that?! That's fair! For Pete sake, let our elders enjoy retirement until death do it part.

IMHO, if Big Bro tries to privatize SS, it's gonna be a recipe for disaster in 20 years or less. Now, I'm probably going to sound like a Dem here, but I'm gonna say it anyway:

I'd like to believe that most folks would be responsible and disciplined enough to set-up their own retirement fund---heck I wish they would---but I'm a realist. I know damn well that most people won't sock away or even start-up a retirement fund if left up to the individual. And guess what that would mean 20 + years down the road? Yup, you guess it:.

More homeless senior citizens. Starving senior citizens. Senior citizens working at McDonald's until the day they die.

Bottom line! We either pay as we go (for SS) or face the ugly consequences later on down the road. DEMS AND REPUBS NEED TO LEAVE SS ALONE!!!!!!

McCain sir, if you even think about privatizing SS, I will not vote for you come November. Sorry to be so candid, but it's the God's honest truth.

    • Posted By: Driver of wagons @ 07/10/2008 1:00:13 PM

Agreed CC leave it alone. I would also like to add make it untouchable to fund other pet projects by crooked politicians and repeal the law that alows them to.

      • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 07/10/2008 3:14:21 PM

DOW, I am amazed but we have a common agreement! I fully agree that politicians should NOT be allowed to tough these funds. If we are paying into social security, NO politician has and right to touch it for any pet project. To attempt to do so should be considered a felony and heavily punishable. For them to try to dig into those funds violates the public trust in this area

We are not as different as you may think. yes we are different in our ideas for solutions to our nations problems and may not agree on the priorties but we all want to be spared more of the same.

Ambitious undertaking worthy of the effort and everyones support but regrettably, I wouldn't hold my breath for to happen (whichever party has the majority, there they will be truly bipartisan).

  • Posted By: Nins @ 07/10/2008 12:55:55 AM

Obama has always been a moderate Democrat. He has some liberal ideas and some conservative ones, but overall he is a centrist. Read his book Audacity of Hope (written more than four years ago) and you will see that he is saying the exact same things today that he was saying then.

The liberal media and the radical right have both wanted to paint Obama as a leftist liberal, each for their own reasons. They each were guilty of creating an image of Obama that simply is not accurate. Now, they are both screaming, the liberals saying "He's going centrist and abandoning the liberals!" and the right wingers saying "He's flip flopping by going moderate!"

Both factions are wrong. Obama has not changed. Obama himself referred to this problem last fall, when he said that people were going to project all kinds of ideas onto him, and that some of them were going to be disappointed, because he can only be who he is.

Obama is a moderate Democrat. Always was a moderate Democrat. End of story.

Just below here you posted a note to Driver of Wagons saying that you never call other bloggers names except when they are attacking you. How is it that this post of mine attacks you, CC? It doesn't mention you, and it is not appended to one of your blogs.

Furthermore, if you want to disagree with me about this, you should read Obama's Audacity of Hope first. Then you would see how moderate Obama really is. You still might not want him as President, but you would see that the media and the blogs have painted him as far more liberal than he really is.

Carly Fiorina is one of John McCain's chief surrogates, particularly talking him up to women. But Fiorina, who was ousted as chief of Hewlett-Packard in 2005, is not above lying to soften the edges on McCain's positions that are unpopular with women.

On Monday, Fiorina said this to a group of reporters "Let me give you a real, live example, which I've been hearing a lot about from women. There are many health insurance plans that will cover Viagra but won't cover birth control medication. Those women would like a choice." She said. And then for emphasis, she repeated "Those women would like a choice."

Clearly, women don't need to chose between birth control and Viagra. So by saying those women would like a choice, just what did Fiorina mean? Is she trying to make McCain look Pro-Choice?

This is not the first time that Fiorina has taken some license with McCain's positions. She recently told women in Columbus, Ohio that McCain "has never signed on to efforts to overturn Roe vs. Wade." This is a blatant falsehood and misrepresentation of McCain's position, since McCain's own campaign website states "John McCain believes Roe v. Wade is a flawed decision that must be overturned, and as president he will nominate judges who understand that."

When it comes to the birth control issue, in a rebuttal to Fiorina's Monday comments, the group Pro-Choice America was happy to point out that McCain twice voted against measures that would have required insurance companies to cover birth control -- in 2003 and in 2005.

The Republican said Wednesday that he did not recall those votes. "It's something that I had not thought much about." he added.

Now that will make him popular with women voters.

This biased support of a person who has flip flopped and is being excused for doing so is hypocritical when spoken in terms of adjusting his frame of reference according to the times and then not accepting McCains changes as well. It is so obvious and evident the propaganda for this unqualified Democrat just because of the unpopularity of Bush and not because MCCain is actually more experianced and less embarressing as a leader of a nation. People are not that stupid that they can see through the manipulation, media. The general election will prove that after we see more crazy flip flops from the only candidate who is not credible. Obama should accept that he is arong for the USA and get off the pedastal that does not suit him.

    • Posted By: NewsWkDickG @ 07/10/2008 10:38:09 AM

If you want to be accurate and factual McCain has flip-floped more times and more significantly than Obama. It seems that the media just finds Obama more newsworthy and then they even exaggerate. Actually all candidates constantly adjust their positions but if you check John McCain 2003 v John McCain 2008 and then John McCain before and after the Keating financial scandal in AZ, you will see some interesting major differences.

New PRO-HILLARY website launched today. Sign the pledge to get her name on the ballot for nomination.

Here is the new site. Check it out: http://www.together4us.com/

THE PLEDGE OF TOGETHERNESS: SPREAD THE WORD!

We stand together with her 18 million voters in pursuit of all of the following:

Bring us together by honoring Hillary Clinton and her supporters at the Democratic National Convention in Denver by:

Placing her name into nomination (following traditional protocol)

    Ensuring a roll-call vote

Inviting her to speak, during prime-time, on August 26th, the 88th anniversary of Women's Suffrage

Bring us together by adoption of policies on the Platform Committee that Hillary Clinton has championed.

Bring us together through reform of the primary and caucus system to reflect the basic principle of one person - one vote.

Bring us together through outspoken denunciation of all gender bias, racism and other forms of discrimination.

Bring us together by making a concerted effort to retire her campaign debt.

We are being asked to embrace Party Unity without the fair representation of Hillary Clinton and her 18 million voters. Party Unity requires bilateral action. We ask Barack Obama and the DNC to respond.

    • Posted By: Nins @ 07/07/2008 7:23:26 PM

Dear Share, I really understand how you fell about Hillary, but I think that this is counter-productive. You would get further if you were campaigning for her to be VP, rather than trying to get her named as the Presidential nominee. If Hillary wanted that, I'm pretty sure she would be publicly asking for it, and she is not. Hillary has come out in support of Obama, and if you love Hillary you will follow her.

Without the Republican crossover votes, which were intended to confuse and will be Republican again in November, she wouldn't have had the near strong showing she had. Forget about Hillary and concentrate on reality.

Obama is solidly commited to the DNCs menue of discrimination campaigns against Americans.(The America Sucks First menue)...and he will have to mine votes from it to become President because all of the discrimination campaigns in sum attack the majority of Americans!
His flip-flopping is a trick to fool the targets of the Discrimination campaigns into voting for him! As if NOW he is on their "side."
No,he's not! He's a Lib. He's all about Americans Suck First! The politics of division. Obama will show NO respect for Christains, Gun Owners, Achievers, Law Enforcement or Military professionals unless it's very qualified... and phony. He needs the votes.
The Left Wing does not need to worry about his flip flops because he don't mean it. It is called Lies by regular people. The odacity of raw BULL!

I just thought I would share something of interest. I have been reading the book WHAT HAPPENED, Inside the Bush White House by Scott McClellan and Scott takes some time to describe how George W Bush regularly convinces himself that lies he tells are true. Scott writes, after he describes one occasion, ???I know Bush and I know he genuinely believes what he says??? and Scott then goes on to call it ???self-deceit???. Now I have a degree in Psychology, have read probably over 50 books on the subject, and have thought for some time that George W Bush vividly displays a sociopathic personality (as I feel Karl Rove and Hillary Clinton do) and, whether Scott McClellan realizes it or not, that is likely what he is describing. The sociopathic personality has no conscience, is totally self-indulgent and will go to great lengths, without ever experiencing any guilt, to achieve what they want. As Martha Stout, in her book THE SOCIOPATH NEXT DOOR, put it ???their only goal is to win??? and they will go to any length, without ever experiencing any guilt, just to win. They simply think it is their entitlement. She adds that they are quite good at ???faking most anything???. It seems to me an interesting confirmation of what I suspected, which then goes a long way to explain things.
