    While campaigning in Texas Hillary said, to help reduce "undocumented", illegal, immigration we should help Mexico with their economy and help them create jobs., so the people would have a reason to stay. This was one of the basis for NAFTA. She was basically saying she was for NAFTA. In Ohio, one of the places where a large part of the manufacturing sector has gone to Mexico, she was against NAFTA. In one state she was pandering for NAFTA but didn't call it that, the next state she was against NAFTA. McCain is sucking up to the christian conservatives now, a group he ignored during his previous campaigns. Obama now agrees with an individuals right to bear arms, which is 180 degrees from his previous position.

      Please read exactly his actual words on the issue. He was never against individual right to bear arms. He simply supported the right of DC to place limitations on those rights as would benefit the local community (local determination). Considering that there has never been a ruling on the issue since it was placed in the consitution in lat 1800s, the interpretation must now simply be brought into consonant with what local authorities and law enforcement can place limit to for public safety. His rlatest statement was not a jump up salute of it either he wimply said the ruling affirms the right but does not prohibit local authorities in absolute terms... get the exact wording. Its nothing close to being characterized as a 180 unless you take the summary of the news agencies rather than read the actual individuals themselves.

Bottom line: Most people here are intelligent enough to know that we (as a society) will probably never-ever totally eradicate racism or sexism. BUT!     The Republican party knew that Rove was way off the ethical base, but they knew that the only way to get a defective candidate into office was bare fanged attack, truth begone, aided by a friendly Supreme Court.     Some folks are saying that "polls don't count", and that "only the Electoral College is a true indicator".

    Hey, I agree. Polls are indicative of the present mood of a small portion of the public. Obviously, that mood could change, but it's still interesting to visualize what voter perceptions are at that moment in time.

    So, for those who don't put ANY stock in national polls, let's take a look at the Electoral Map - which the GOP worshipped for so long during the long-fought Dem. Primary. Wonder why they don't reference it much anymore....hmmmmmmmmmmm. Obama is LEADING in 5 out of the 7 "battleground states", AND, is ahead of McCain by 40 Electoral Votes. Of course, that could change, too. BUT, given that McCain has NEVER lead according to voters at the "present time of polling", OR in the Electoral College since OBAMA officially won the Primary.......

    I guess what I'm saying is...........McCain is toast!!!!!

          1) I do.
          2) Rev Wright served in the military. He appears to be a bit of an angry guy, but lets face it. He lived through some times that anyone should be angry about. On the other hand many of the crackpots that were complaining about Wright were just as bad. There is a difference between Rev Wright accusing the government of being behind the Aids virus. I don't agree that the government is, but if it was then I would certainly agree with him that it's wrong.

          When I hear someone say, no blacks in the whitehouse, I don't just disagree with them. Those people are speaking out against our country. Our country was founded based on the premis that all men (people) are created equal. Slavery may have been a stick in the eye of our country that took a while to get rid of, but clearly the founders didn't like the idea that certain people were more equal than others.

          People need to decide whether they find that acceptable or not..

      The media already went down the road of publishing everything you hate mongers made up. That's why all the comments about Obama getting a free ride were so laughable. Nobody talked about Clinton's or McCain's past, but all that was on the news was Rezko and Wright. Problem is, the questions were answered, and it turns out nothing shady happened. This was already proven. It made the media look like idiots for not checking the facts.

      Just because you find another thing Rezko did, doesn't mean anything accept you are willing to say or do anything at the expense of your own credibility for some agenda.

        I really doubt in th history of our country has any presidential candidate been under such intense scrutiny. (They) have and continue to spread rumours questioning Sen, Obama's sexuality, his marriage, his citizenship, his patriotism etc. The republicans understand that this is still a very racist country and quite a few "Americans" have a serious problem with this "Black" man running for office,

        This is not to say that Sen. Obama is not a "politician" and that he does not play some of the smae political games that have been played throughout our political histroy, as I do not believe that you can be a politician without doing so. But hopefully Obama will as he says attempt to and be able to put a more human face on our political environment. Hopefully he will be given that chance.

By the way I am not just talking about whites, you cannot deny that there has never been this type of reaction to a presidential candidate before and the majority of the scrutiny, if you will, is about his name, his heritage, fear mongering "the muslim bs, his sexuality and yes definitely racism.             So please deny it all you want, but it is a problem in this country and a lot of the special people have targeted Obama. By the way it would be the same situation if one of the candidates were Latino, Asian or Jewish. All of the nastiness comes out whenever there is an "Other" up for election.

            I love my country but it is definitely flawed.

For starters, I saw the referenced press conference, and while Obama did in fact refer to the fact that he had just answered the SAME question in a previous press conference, he patiently and KINDLY said " and I would be happy to answer again" . For this article publisher to then say he wearily re-explained his position is completely bias. Watching CNN 3 separate reporters referred to THIS EXACT reference as a strong talking point. This is THE most bias article i've read here. Ever.
