Comment: Bottom line is she didn't murder anyone, didn't rape anyone and God forbid she didn't hurt a child.
The sentence she received is crazy! The US is picking terrorist off the battle field and putting them in
Guantanamo Bay with three hot's and a comfy cot. They can practice their religion, play board game,
have the best doctors tend to their every need, and I swear are living in the best conditions they have ever seen and the US is then called torturers. People here and from many of these countries around the world demand these terrorist, these animals killing our soldiers on the battle field be given US attorneys, demand they be treated with our constitutional rights. Illegal's come to this country with drugs, do murder, do rape and do hurt children and people again DAMN America because some of us want our law's followed. Then I see that girl being treated as if she herself blew up a building killing their citizens, people calling for her execution for pot!! It made me sick. Send her home!!

Comment: If Miss Corby is guilty why would she import pot into a country that grows it by the ton and exports it all over the world. In my opinion, she was a pigeon to draw attention away from the real product being smuggled in which was probably cocaine or heroine, which is easily obtained in Indonesia. Airport, government and law enforcement should be investigated. Deport Miss Corby, she has suffered enough.

Comment: Having never heard of this case prior to watching the HBO documentary, the film in no way led us to think that she be innocent. In our opinion, her reactions shown on tape immediately after the discovery of the ganja in her bag where more representative of denial that shock and surprise.

Comment: There is also a problem that your writer mentions but glosses over, and it is simple but extremely profound. The evidence was destroyed by Indonesian officials. There were no fingerprints taken, no DNA evidence, no video, and the only witness that did not support Corby's story was a non-English speaker who changed his story. Any one of these things could have proven Corby's guilt (that is to say, guilt beyond simple possession), or exhonerated her, What's the mystery? No evidence? No fingerprints? No witnesses? No case. At least, that's the way it is in the civilized countries of the world. Corby is in prison because the right bribes were not paid to the right people. The rest is all conjecture. With this sort of incompetence, O.J. would never have even gone to trial.

Comment: Sorry Mate, If the Ganga fits you must convict! I just don't believe her or any of her family, I think that she knew for sure what she was doing and was doing it for her sister (whose birthday it was) and her brother-in-law so they could make tons of money from the 'God" weed (in the brother-in-law's own words). She was totally unconvicing and the latest news just 4 hours ago (July 3, 2008) she collapsed at a beauty salon having her hair done and getting a PEDICURE!!! So much for the harsh Indonisian penal system.

Comment: Wrong! She's been treated for deep deptression, and the saloon was supose to be therepy. She collapsed as she saw the throng of reporters waiting on her as she got to the saloon. Are you people down under that dense that you believe all that rubish the press says about this family? Just about every drug running story or "inside scoop" on Corby drug connections have later proved to be false. Do your homework "mate."

Comment: It's time to remove all the politicians that promote prohibition.
How many more lives have to be needlessly devastated or lost?
Prohibited drugs are way easier for kids to get than regulated drugs!
Prohibition never works it just causes crime and violence.

The USA spends $69 billion a year on the drug war, builds 900 new prison beds and hires 150 more correction officers every two weeks, arrests someone on a drug charge every 17 seconds, jails more people than any nation and has killed over 100,000 citizens in the drug war.

In 1914 when there were no prohibited drugs 1.3% of our population was addicted to drugs, today 1.3% of our population is still addicted to drugs but there???s way more crime and violence because of the huge profits prohibition generates. Drugs today are more potent, more readily available and less expensive than they were in the early 70???s when Richard Nixon started the war on drugs. Every time you look at the news you see more and more drug busts involving bigger and bigger quantities of drugs, not less and less... doesn't that call for change?

???Jury Nullification???, learn more here: http://fija.org If you are called for jury duty and you don???t agree with the law the person is charged with, you have the right to vote not guilty, no matter what evidence is produced. Jurors implementing this right in all non-violent drug cases will shut down the ridiculous laws of prohibition. One juror in each case is all it takes. The bottom line is a juror has the right to judge not only the accused person but the law the person is accused of breaking. Don???t be intimidated stick to your position.

There???s only been one drug success story in history, tobacco, by far the most deadly and one of the most addictive drugs. Almost half the users quit because of regulation, accurate information and medical treatment. No one went to jail and no one got killed.

The right; to freedom of religion, free speech, a free press, to keep and bear arms, to be secure in your person, house, papers and effects against unreasonable search and seizure, to life, liberty and property, to be protected from having your property taken by the government without due process of law and without just compensation, to confront the witnesses against you, to be protected from excessive bail, excessive fines, cruel and unusual punishment, to vote and many others have been denied to millions of Americans in the name of the drug war.

Comment: I've been following this case since the beginning. Anyone with an ounce of sense can see this case is bogus. 10 pounds of pot in a nylon boogie board? And she really expected to get that through customs where the penalty for getting caught is DEATH? It defies all logic, unless you figure that someone put the pot in the easily accesible bag at one end, with someone to pick it up at the other. The INSIDE of the bag was never fingerprinted. This woman was sentenced to 20 years in a bali jail, and will likely die there. The press has savaged her at every opportunity, with out and out lies... which have been proven in court. Her sister Mercadies just won a large judgement against one station. Its obvious that Corby MUST be believed to be guilty... otherwise a large image problem for Austrailian airports and passenger saftey is in question.
