Yes, China produces some products that has quality problems. But I think Importers and distributors have to be very careful when they sell products to consumers because it is their job to make sure whether products are dangerous or not before they're selling it to the public, it is also their job in purchasing products from qualify manufacturers in whether China or other countries.

The metals that produce the colors are toxic. Fireworks can be made of nitrocellulose instead of carbon, producing less smoke and fine particles that can cause respiratiory problems.

Yes, China is blamed again, because they don't balance profits with safety. But they are slowly beginning to be more responsible, because they have to do so if they want ot export their products and not poison their own people.

To get a "powder" licence is just like getting a pistol permit. The government fears any citizen capable of carrying anything that goes boom and could cause an unintended fecal discharge.

I'll agree with the Darwin Awards! Apparently too many of our state legislators have been recipients in the past so today we get to play with cap guns and smoke balls. I wonder how the colonists would have endured the British kings rule had they been only allowed to keep firecrackers about them? Better yet, what if the settlers had to dial 911 for assistance with thieves and murderers. Do you think they would have stood for that kind of treatment?

Maybe our mommies and daddies in the government can make us even more safe by allowing only "homeopathic" fireworks. BTW, the dummy in the picture getting his head blown off made me think of the Darwin Awards.
