My last word of the day. Only a Coward would sacrifice our troops to get elected. McCain knows he's living a lie. His supporters know they are living a lie. When they didn't know it was one thing but to vote to kill soldiers so you Republicans can salvage what's left of your corrupt party, is criminal and dispicable. To betray those who we count on to protect us could only be done by a lmouth-breathing lowlife.

The issue of who Obama's VP choice is will pale in comparison to his "close 20 year relationship" with a bigot named Reverand Wright. And the good reverand's "close relationship" with one of America's biggest racists, Louis Farrakhan. Attention people: Birds of a Feather. And most of America is starting to figure it out. Especially Hillary fans and Jewish voters. Remember, this is the same nation that re-elected a very unpopular George Bush only 3 1/2 years ago during an unpopular war. McCain will win this election.

Absolutely, Barack will have to overcome here in Florida, but it's doable I think. He seems to think so too. His campaign has set up offices in every little nook and cranny to register young and African american voters who heretofore had no interest in voting for anyone. Will it work? We'll soon know by the polls. Barack is starting his florida "getting to know you" campain here and we'll see. Rassmussen, the Republican Biased Pollster has McCain stomping Obama 51 to 39%. Let's take a look in a week or so to see whether Rassmussen changes. Florida is a tough nut to crack because of the Hillary voters like myself who feel left out. I'm over it. There is no way I'm voting for a person who would sacrifice young troops in Iraq just to get the Right Wing votes. NO FRIGGIN WAY.

ARE WE ELECTING A POPE? Who cares about how religious a candidate is. All of this talk and media coverage of religious issues is a waste of time and distracts the people from what is really important. I'm just about sick and fed up of seeing photos of Obama with his bowed down looking pious and humble. Get your a$$ to work and come up with some policies that will put America back on track instead of acting like a preacher wannabe. We need a president not a minister. How come McCain has managed to focus on the issues and leave all this religious crap alone?

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/04/2008 11:03:23 PM

Lol! I have to laugh at your pious comment because I have not seen Obama looking pious. Ever.

      • Posted By: Richard1327 @ 07/05/2008 9:47:52 AM

Laugh all you want, bu you missed the point of the post. All this talk about religion is distracting people from the issues. By the way, did you see the cover photo accompanying this article? If he's not looking a little pious (your word not mine), what would you call it? He basically has two looks in his photo ops - 1. He looks down trying to be humble or 2. His chin is up and he's looking off into the distance as if he sees the future and it's calling him to lead the country because it's his destiny. Either way, it's monotonous and phoney.

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/05/2008 11:14:01 AM

Okay. I did see that photo. I won't agree he looks 'pious' though. To me he looks a bit pensive. I also doubt he purposelly posed for the photos. Either way, I laughed at your comment because it was funny in the true sense of the word. I mean that in a good way. Esp. the Pope remark.

"To remove this element of his political approach would be to remove large chunks of his biography. " Barack Obama has already removed large chunks of his biography, what difference would this make? The man always reconstructs his story to fit his perception of prevailing opinion. As he said himself, he's a blank upon which people project their wishes.

The problem with faith-based government programs is that they are unconstitutional. It's not a subject for debate unless the debate is about repealing the First Amendment.

    Obama is pandering again.

    • Posted By: Obama4me @ 07/05/2008 2:46:08 PM

Obama has always, always talked about working with churches and synogogs to help people in their own communites. Not a pander. You are not informed.

At the Aberdeen Golf and Country Club on Sunday, the fountains were burbling, the man-made lakes were shining, and Shirley Weitz and Ruth Grossman were debating why Jews in this gated neighborhood of airy retirement homes feel so much trepidation about Senator Barack Obama.

The people here, liberal people, will not vote for Obama because of his attitude towards *Israel, Ms. Weitz, 83, said, lingering over brunch.

They???re going to vote for McCain,??? she said.

Ms. Grossman, 80, agreed with her friend???s conclusion, but not her reasoning.

But the point is that: Denmocrats have been the biggest proponents for seperation of church and state: taking prayer from schools, public events, biblical references (like Ten Commandments) out of Court Houses or other goverment locales. Now the nominee for that party is proposing taking tax dollars (state) and giving them to faith based programs (church). Now just how hypocritical is that? That means that Democratic tax dollars are going to be distributed by Obama whether they are largely secular, and don't believe in doing so, or not. To have a party, who has single-handedly done more to deconstruct religion in this country than any other faction, then state they want to work with religious organization they have worked to destroy is proposterous--no matter what Obama has said.

Truth is, the 2nd amendment was written by PROTESTANTS; to protect worshiping God how people saw fit; and that is how they should have worded it--freedom to worship God. Because anyone with common sense can tell you that the people contructing the Constitution would have been more clear, if they had know that liberal Dems were going to distort those words, and use it against their own country to dilute the place of religion within our culture. I mean, how does it make sense that a group of Protestants, who were God fearing, would write something that could be used to tear God down?
        Talk about not informed.
Now that same liberal group has a leader that wants to work with churches and synogogs. LOL
        You people really are lost.
Do you believe in separation of church and state? Or do you not? It is that simple.
Or, do you just believe in whatever can help your candidate get votes from the middle to help win an election. Therefore really believing in nothing at all; which much better fits the hypcrosy of the Democratic party.

At least Repubs are consistant with their belief in God and religion.

You people still can't make up your mind. LOL

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 07/05/2008 2:09:30 PM

Maybe thats the plan. Re-write the constitution. Hmmmm

"Change you can believe in" means that whatever you want Obama to be, he will be. He is the most deceptive candidate this nation has ever seen. He is totally fake and will tell you whatever you want to hear. BUT in reality he is a left wing liberal socialist (communist). Just wait and see.

Wisconsin's unique landmarks once again find themselves in the pages of the latest novel to be presented to readers of history, thrillers and religion in a work that combines all three genres into an adventurous global conspiracy.

The Epoch Point, just released on May 1 and written by Wisconsin native Spencer Zimmerman, is a fictional novel that includes historical facts, certain to intrigue history buffs who are interested in history from the local to the international level, especially as that history thrillingly plays out into what Zimmerman describes as a worldwide "conflict between God and the devil, good and evil."

According to the book's synopsis, the lead character, Robert Davis, is "a young Airman fresh out of Air Force basic training," reflective of Zimmerman's own recent service in the Air Force. "After being held captive in China, (Davis) suddenly finds himself unraveling the most immense conspiracy in history...soon uncovering hidden facts suggesting Russian and Iraqi involvement...discovering the diary of Lee Harvey Oswald...As the clues surface, an evil emerges powerful enough to rewrite the entire history of humanity...before long the conspiracy takes on a supernatural form, marked by [natural disasters] and the wrath of God...Nothing [prepares] (Davis) for the final suspenseful twist the story takes, a da Vinci style revelation that reaffirms his belief in Christ."

  • Posted By: The_epoch_point @ 07/05/2008 10:27:00 PM

Zimmerman, having lived in several locations around Wisconsin, including near Lake Mills and Watertown, incorporated Wisconsin locations and history into his novel, among them a Viking cathedral on Washington Island and the events surrounding Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy. Also mentioned is a small village outside of Burlington, Wisconsin, founded by a Mormon religious leader who proclaimed himself king, the only monarchy to ever occur in the forty-eight continental states in American history. Among the other Wisconsin landmarks in The Epoch Point, and most notably, the famous national landmark Aztalan is discussed at length.

Zimmerman's discussion of Aztalan in his book in part follows what Zimmerman calls the "darker" side of Aztalan, including its cannibalism and religious practices, and the instantaneous disappearance of its thriving population. Zimmerman's writing also seeks to make connections between Aztalan's existence with that of the Minoan civilization from Ancient Greece and Zoroastrian culture of the Middle East. All three peoples had similar beliefs, worshipped fire (one of Aztalan's mounds is believed to have been the abode of an "eternal" flame) and practiced human sacrifice and cannibalism.

Zimmerman noted all of these "obscure (historical) connections," which ultimately inspired him to take the connections and formulate them into an adventurous plot. Writing his book took roughly two years.

The book's chapters are titled after the sixty-six books of the Bible, and the plot progresses as Davis reads through each chapter of the Bible, opening the Bible for the first time in chapter one of The Epoch Point. Each chapter follows a "flashback" style in structure, in which the book's characters experience revelations of historical events and experiences from 4000 B.C. to the present, which allow them to observe how those events contributed to the global conspiracy they are presently confronting. Zimmerman states that the book's events begin on New Year's Eve of 2000, and end on Christmas of 2006.

While writing novels remains at present a hobby for Zimmerman, he already has ideas for a second novel that he anticipates will follow a more scientific fiction path. The Epoch Point is currently available through Amazon.com, and Zimmerman is hoping to get copies of the book into some of Lake Mills's downtown novelty shops.

The word "fact" in a Democrats dictionary.......
A statement or finding that can be altered at any given time for the benefit of oneself or ones political party. Usually done as shown by Senator Obama AFTER you count the votes. Rupublicans call this term flip flopping.

    • Posted By: thehappyamerican @ 07/05/2008 8:42:27 PM

The "FACT" in DNC Speak is also what comes before or after the word "BUT" in a compound sentence
Such as "I believe (______) BUT there has to be (__________). Therefor what they "believe" is not a fact and/or what they say "has to be" are FACT, but depending on who they talk to from now on! And it can change!
Liberals are BUT TALKERS! A culture of soft Government jobs produces this language! In the military and private sector the BUT TALKER is the lame person! Never give a BUT TALKER an important job to do! Or BUT TALK will be their only product! If anyone don't believe it , look at the US House or Senate today!Or read what many of the leading editors in our news industry have to say.
BUT TALKERS defend another's BUT TALK!

  • Posted By: Kaelinda @ 07/05/2008 6:52:33 PM

Since a "faith-based" initiative can include charities from all faiths - as long as they practice their charity right here in the United States instead of exporting it to another country - it seems to me that the secular left should rejoice. Let the atheists get together and start a grass-roots charity. Not like the Red Cross, which only helps out in emergencies, but like a street kitchen or a shelter, where the homeless and hungry can get immediate help, perhaps while they're being trained to hold down a job.

I will never question another mans faith. Or was that another mans patriotism oh wait maybe we just shouldnt question anything because the new Messiah preaches the overwhelming Gospel according to Barak. Jesus is good and Bush is bad. we can all agree on that can't we. So you should vote for Barak because the guy who is president now is bad. And even though MCCain has done nothing but challenge Bush for the last 8 years you shouldn't vote for him because he is another Bush. Bush is bad (applause) Cheney and the neocons kill children (applause) Rumsfeld is the Anti christ (applause) And what we all need faithful followers is for you to take that leap of faith and just Change with me my brothers and sisters(loud deafening applause) No more Bush No more Bush No more Bush.

When you frame the debate by stating that " Republicans don't own God", its usually a sure sign that you believe that they do. It further gives rise to the perception that you wish they didn't. Seems to be at least several ways to go with this. (1) You can try to impress common yokels with your bible knowlege. Howard Dean tried that and came up short when he put the book of Job in the new testament.(2) You can proclaim seperation of church and state. That one has worked in exactly 2 of the last 7 elections. (3) If you can't win this election against this weak candidate: in the middle of a war: in the middle of a gas crisis: in the middle of....well you get the point, then....there truly must be a God, and he must truly be for the other team.

That what Manson's followers thought about him too. Uh, Jim Jones, David Coresh as well--just to name a few. Being charismatic enough to lull people into followship--as the three previous prove--does not mean that your intentions are not seditious, malicious or filled with malcontent. Manson swayed people at his rallies to go and murder people. So--good for you--glad to know you are that simple minded.
