CC, Yep, sounds like that is the Wright word:

    Definition of Pandering:

In politics, pandering is to portray one's views to fit in line with a certain crowd of voters the candidate is attempting to impress, when often, these are not the candidate's true beliefs. A candidate may engage in pandering out of desperation if s/he is already losing a race, or if polls taken prior to an election show others as being in the lead.

There is a Muslim tradition in Obama's family history. It is predictable that Obama would be more friendly to Muslims than McCain. It may be a salvation for us to elect a quasi-Muslim President who can lead US to Mecca. Voters have to decide whether we should keep fighting Muslims, or live with them in harmony on the expense of Israel.

This is one thing Obama is right about. He of course can tread into a church with out being labeled a man of God which is tantamount to being called an idiot in some left wing circles. So he has the advantage of reaching out to the faithful and speaking to people who think of God as a part of thier lives without getting labeled like MCCain. What Obama understands is the people who hate him will hate him anyway and the people who like him will forgive his indiscretions so he can tread fearlessly where ever he goes. This is a quality John MCCain has also shown and if these two candidates meet in an open debate without moderator questions perhaps we will see both men for who they are and decide our next president on each's merits instead of who their pastors are.

dear Evax. Your comments cannot possibly be taken seriously. I suspect that you are trying to be provocative. Obama is not a Muslim. He is simply a liberal with an unusually grandiose ego that has been inflated by a Columbia U, Harvard U, the Autobiography of Malcolm X and demagogues from the South Side of Chicago.

I think Obama's apparent position on faith-based initiatives is simply politicking in its most basic form. You say whatever might get you the most votes and hope the backlash isn't too severe. His statement that "without a commitment to a particular community of faith, at some level I would always remain apart, and alone" actually does make me want to vomit, somewhat. Why does the community have to be "of faith?" Why not a community of reason, or charity, or knitting? These are all better than a community of magic sky fairy believers.
