No se si ingrid leera este mensaje, estoy tratrando de conseguir un sitio donde pueda escribirle, me alegra muchisimo que este libre ingrid y que este en su casa con sus seres queridos, tambien espero que se pueda recuperar de todos los problemas psicologicos que esto pudo traer en su vida. acabo de leer en las noticias que le dieron otro premio el principe de las asturias, me alegra, de corazon por que yo tambien soy colombiana y es muy lindo cuando hablan bien de colombia, y no se porque se lo dieron de verdad, que pena decirle pero desde que usted salio ha hecho mucha publicidad, ido a roma, con el papa, con todos estos presidentes, y la verdad no se para que... todavia me pregunto QUE ESTA HACIENDO INGRID POR LOS SECUESTRADOS EN COLOMBIA??? entiendo que se haya ido de Colombia para Francia, y si se hubiera quedado callada tambien lo hubiera entendido, pero usted se gana premios, porque estubo 6 anos secuestrada, y donde estan los soldados que estuvieron 10 anos secuestrados?? porque usted tiene mas dinero que ellos, le dan premios, ellos estaban defendiendo nuestro pais cuando los secuestraron. Usted se les entrego!!!!! no dido que se merecia que la secuestraran, pero usted se lo busco, le dijeron que no fuera y se fue. pero ellos estaban trabajando por la paz de colombia cuando les quitaron la libertad y los dejaron 10 anos en la selva, y todavia estan en colombia, luchando por ella, usted???? EN FRANCIA, ITALIA, USA, hablando y hablando y ganandose premios, pero no se ve nada que haya empezado a hacer por los secuestrados. URIBE la rescato, y confiamos en que el siga rescatando y saque a colombia aun mas adelante porque este presidente es el unico que ha empezado a cambiar a colombia. Ojala que gane la otra reeleccion, y que usted en vez de hablar y ganarse premios que no se merece, deberia estar luchando por los secuestrados, y no dedicarles los premios queusted se gana, porque para ellos eso no significa nada, libertad significa todo

I know that I have to testify to all that I lived. I know it is something that has to be done, but I need time. It is not easy to talk about things that still hurt. It will probably hurt all my life. [But] I want to forgive, but forgiveness comes with forgetting. I have to forget in order to find peace in my soul and be able to forgive. But at the same time, once I have forgiven and forgotten, I will have to bring back memories [to tell others]. They will probably be filtered by time so they won't come with all the pain that I feel right now.
Sometimes people think that miracles are something that happens to others, and very seldom. I think that they happen to everybody, but we just don't understand what's happening to us and we prefer to talk about coincidence. We should give the credit to God.
Handling the trauma:
It's like the roaring of the waves; I know they are coming, and they are getting closer. [But that's why] I know that its time for me to just talk, because I don't want to be submerged by depression.
On what she will do in France:
I can transmit the love of Colombians for peace and for freedom. It is nice to feel that the world is so receptive to Colombia's suffering ... [But] no matter where you are, you can do beautiful things if you have the disposition, the devotion and the ability to work for those who are suffering, for those who don't have a place in the world.
