Comment: What the Obama troglodytes can't fathom is that you can't run for president and be anti-establishment. The President is leader of the establishment, and the american people see that as a position of protecting the US and it's establishment. Because the US has established the entire world, and it works.

In another 4 years, we will have forgotten about Iraq and Afghanistan, and moved on. Can anyone remember our conflict in Kosovo and Serbia? How we were doomed to an endless unwinnable war there also?

For the Bush family, destruction of endless communism, establishment of democracies in south america, eastern europe, and now the blunting of 1600 years of Jihadist holy war. Not bad for 16 years.

Comment: It seems obvious to me that the Obama troglodytes don't understand America.

The American people believe you can't lead a government you have spent most of your life disparaging and trying to be the alternative to. All the anti-war, anti-establishment rhetoric sounds great when you are running against another anti-whatever candidate, but when you run to be the leader of the establishment, it does not make sense to vote for the anti-establishment candidate. At some point, you have to be "the man".

SO, the american people have to choose between a 30 year senate veteran, or a 1.5 year senator. Who would YOU pick to lead the establishment? And the primary job of a LEADER? To pick a young, vigorous replacement. Sarah Palin will learn from McCAIN, and be president for 8 years.

Comment: I just don't understand why in this publication it would state that not voting for Obama would be racist. I see it totally different. I see Obama as a man who just happens to be black. I will choose to vote for him not because of his color but what he stands for. I have never seen so many newspapers, magizines and journalist oozy over a man. It is so one sided. That to me is rasict. He doesn't need this. You must not think that Obama can do it on his own. That is a real shame. Let him stand as a man just like McCain and let the best man win.

Comment: Why does everyone think Obama isn'r ready to lead when you have Hillary who thinks dhe was ducking bullets when she got off a plane overseas and John McCain who doesn't know how many houses he has and most of the time he can only talk about when he was a prisoner of war when asked a question. How can a person feel confidant that Hillary could remember what she discussed or what deal she made with some foreign country if she can't remember if she was doging bullets or not and the same for McCain-if he can't remember how many houses might he forget which country or foreign leader he was making a deal with?

OBAMA 8 Min VIDEO: Montage of Contradictory Statements on IRAQ

    Subliminal Messaging, or Over-Active Imaginations?
    July 18, 2008 5:54 PM

    EXCERPT:

There is a longtime tradition in political advertising to look beyond the message to the subtext -- and even to the subliminal.

In that spirit, a veteran Democratic operative offers an interesting observation of the newly released anti-Obama Web video produced by the McCain campaign. The VIDEO is an EIGHT-MINUTE montage of sometimes CONTRADICTORY statements about the Iraq war made by Sen. Barack Obama. (Continued in full article link below).

Comment: McCain???s funny joke??? And I quote??????Did you here the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die? When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her Doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, where is that marvelous ape???? Sources: Tucson Citizen, Oct. 27, 1986 and Countdown with Keith Olbermann, 07/17/08.
    McCain???s spokesman Brian Rogers???s response:
He???s long said that he???s done things in the past that he regrets???.you???ve just got to move on and be yourself- That???s what people want. They want someone who is authentic, and this kind of stuff is a good example of McCain being McCain.

    Comment: American Renaissance
    June 2001
    TOPIC: Name-Calling

When one is called a Racist, a Bigot, a White Supremacist, the arguer is not simply trying to define a person's position but is trying to define a person. When in the course of debate, one is called by someone a racist, et al, that person is not trying to clarify an argument but to end one. Racist is not an argument, it is a pejorative. Let's allow Jared Taylor of the New Century Foundation explain:

If someone calls you a RACIST s/he has completely shifted his ground and is not dealing with facts or logic anymore. He is saying You are bad!, which is PURE EMOTION. Prof. Michael Levin, author of Why Race Matters, says this kind of CHILDISH OUTBURST makes no more sense than calling someone a ???poopoo-head.??? Grownups do it only because it works, and it works only because so many whites are invertebrates.

The silliness of the RACISM charge is especially clear if you are talking about racial differences in IQ. Just point out that the only legitimate issue is how to interpret the evidence. Your conclusions are either right or wrong. If someone stops trying to explain why you are wrong and instead starts calling you names, it is a sure sign he can???t explain why you are wrong???which is because you are right.

Comment: Melanie Phillips is the most recent commentator to draw attention to the massive body of evidence that leaves no doubt that Barak Hussein Obama was born a Muslim (Islam is patrilineal) and raised a Muslim (so registered in school, acknowledging attending Islamic classes, reported accompanying his step-father to the mosque, and able to recite the Koran in the original Arabic).

Reuven Koret, Aaron Klein and Daniel Pipes have previously pointed to the attempts by Obama and his campaign to conceal the candidate's Muslim background. The well documented evidence draws upon the on-the-ground interviews by researchers in Indonesia and Kenya, published quotations of Obama's childhood friends and his school records, as well as the candidate's own autobiography.

It is not clear whether Barack Obama will now disown his half-brother Malik, or throw him under the campaign bus, for acknowledging that shared family background. In any case, some one should notify "Fight the Smear" tout de suite. Perhaps they can get him with the program.

Comment: You know, people do convert to Christianity. Even if Obama was not a Christian at one time, he confesses the Christian faith now. I really don't understand why some people think that this is such a potentially explosive story. It is barking up the wrong tree. There is a whole forest full of worthwhile trees up which one could bark when it comes to Obama, so move on to one of them instead.

      • Posted By: thehappyamerican @ 07/19/2008 2:42:33 PM

Comment: Because he may be a MOCK-CHRISTIAN for only political purposes as a calculation and his church is out there in mimmic-mode of what some believe a Christian church is, or is like!
Much about Obama is sham! Appearences. Who is he...what is he? Chicago-style politics does not explain away much which bothers many Americans about Obama. Who does he clown for?
Americans like Gore,Kennedy and Biden?Should we be electing anyones clown to the highest office in the land?

        • Posted By: IELeibowitz @ 07/20/2008 9:36:13 PM

Comment: I repeat, people do become Christians, and I'll add that you are in position to judge Obama's heart in this matter (unless you want to claim knowledge that Christians believe belongs only to God).

I agree that much about Obama is more hype than reality, and more power to you if you want to expose this gap with facts. Here, however, you are asking that people prove something impossible, and it is not becoming of Christian charity.

Yes, Obama's faith can be relavant to the extent that it sheds light on how he might shape policy. Yes, former pastors who have been close confidantes and advisors for many years can be relavant for similar reasons. You are not trying to analyze these things, however -- you are just trying to keep throwing out a charge that can't ever be disproven to your satisfaction in the hopes that it will stick.

Comment: Seems that there's no exchanges on this blog about the ISSUE of Obama losing his MOJO!!! There is a plain and simple reason...He's done everything humanly possible to batch this election for HIMSELF..starting with his associations with people of questionable patritism....He's OLD NEWS..he's about as deep as my toenail and not nearly as pretty....He was something different for awhile, but when people are FORCED to look for substance...there is NONE..He's changed his mind more often than most people change underwear..every day there's a NEW VIEW..
Personally, I think that he's doing something EXTREMELY stupid...going to Iraq. The troops clearly understand that he is neither PROUD nor LOYAL to the patriots that are the boots on the ground preserving our nations' FREEDOM and SAFETY. Not to mention, the peoplel of Iraq are not quite ready for our troops to be returned home..SO, who's to say that he's not going over with a huge target on his back....Heck, with the 50 caliber sniper weapons, he could easily be picked off from a mile and a half away...It would be so easy and I am surprised that he's not smarter than that....Stupid is as stupid does..Mccain is the ONLY CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT....

    Comment:

Senator McJackie the McJokeman, will prove to be even less serious and dignified in the role of Smirker-in-Chiefthen then what we have on the table right now. If that were even possible.

Last week, in response to a serious question about Iran, the Republican presumptive nominee joked about killing Iranians with weaponized cancer. This week, it's news about a joke involving gorillas and rape.

"Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die? When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, 'Where is that marvelous ape?"

In days past, it's been jokes about wife-beating, bombing Iran, Chelsea Clinton's looks, and Alzheimer's Disease. Based on these precedents, I can only imagine Senator McCain's forthcoming zingers about still-births, burn victims and Thalidomide.

Get a clue McCain Women don't like to be beaten and raped and also don't like to made jokes of on the subject

Wow Ho all of you people who are thinking about voting for "McCain't and isn't able to Govern"

So you want another Smirking Chimp for your next president?

Extend your non-funny PAIN with your vote for McCain

Comment: Appears Hussein is a man of character, after all. I just picked up this thank you letter due to be released across the country, to all his supporters. I apologize for all my negative comments. He may well be the Messiah...........

    My fellow Americans:

As your future President I want to thank my supporters, for your mindless support of me, despite my complete lack of any legislative achievement, my pastor's relations with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan dictator Moamar Quadafi, or my blatantly leftist voting record while I present myself as some sort of bi-partisan agent of change.

I also like how my supporters claim my youthful drug use and criminal behavior somehow qualifies me for the Presidency after 8 years of claiming Bush's youthful drinking disqualifies him. Your hypocrisy is a beacon of hope shining over a sea of political posing.

I would also like to thank the Kennedy's for coming out in support of me. There's a lot of glamour behind the Kennedy name, even though JFK started the Vietnam War, his brother Robert illegally wiretapped Martin Luther King, Jr. and Teddy killed a female employee with whom he was having an extra marital affair and who was pregnant with his child. And I'm not going anywhere near the cousins, both literally and figuratively.
And I'd like to thank Oprah Winfrey for her support. Her love of meaningless empty platitudes will be the force that propels me to the White House.

Americans should vote for me, not because of my lack of experience or achievement, but because I make people feel good.
Voting for me causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined, racist guilt. I say things that sound meaningful, but don't really mean anything because Americans are tired of things having meaning. If things have meaning, then that means you have to think about them.
Americans are tired of thinking. It's time to shut down the brain and open up the heart. So when you go to vote, remember don't think, just do. And do it for me.

    Thank You.
    Barack Hussein Obama,

    NOBAMA!!!

Obama is not Muslim, nor would I want him to be one because he is Christian. Do you know how to say that rolling pin? I guess not, because you are in the health care industry, perhaps you pop stuff to keep you going 24/7. So our advice to you is to check into rehab, deal with your Islamaphobia, see your psychiatrist, have him or her prescribe you some Xanax, and you will feel better. Perhaps you need your bottle or a hug and kiss from us. Well six of us are passing our hugs and kisses to you because your brain has a big boo boo. We feel sorry for such a damaged person, you, crackhead canadian and voteno should all join in a love fest in Woodstock. Perhaps you will go back to the 60's and feel so much better. There you go, now your back there, breathe a few more puff the magic dragons, and live happily ever after. I would personally suggest stronger meds, but this will do for the moment.

Like I said, I have seen sample of some of HolyRoller's other work, and I would agree that it is offensive. I disagree that this one is. Yeah, it is satirical, and you may take issue with his interpretations or facts, but I personally think that this one is in-bounds. I figured I would mention that since I criticized the poster for something that I thought was out-of-bounds earlier. Comment: Okay people, it is time for the chill pill recipe because everyone is on edge due to the full moon arising tomorrow or today, wherever you are living. Time for all to breathe in slowly count to 10, and breathe back out and count back to 10. Please practice the breathing for at least two minutes.

Next, if you still feel stressed, please get a poochie to get some unconditional love. We can all use that. Next take your poochie out on a nice long walk for 20 to 30 minutes. When you come back, please take a warm shower, or a nice bubble bath. That will help reduce more stress.

Now come back to the blog and see if you can be nicer to each other with your postings. I do not want to go to the next level yet, unless everyone keeps biting each other with their remarks. Remember there are six of us watching how you guys/gals react to each other. My chill pill recipe is free, and benefits all who follow.

Comment: If I had six personalities, I would be in a psychiatrist office. There are six of us who's families have grown up together. We have two practicing Muslims, one non-practicing Muslim, two reform Jews, and one Christian Scientist. Our families have been through thick and thin. We have seen our kids grow up. The oldest child among our families is 22, and the youngest is 9.

The six of us decided that this election is the most important in our lifetime, especially with the conditions here in the United States. We are not going to sit and be apathetic to what is going on. We are going to be vocal.

When we see bigotry, we call the person out on his or her bs. The philosopher of the six among us, will start ripping at people who he sees being unreasonable. English is his second language and may seem silly. He is serious though because people are not kind to each other and very uptight due to many conditions, economy/mortgage/gasoline crisis, healthcare, quagmire in Iraq, etc.

We have seen some great thoughts being posted, relevant, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, and outrageous. We have seen bigotry, racism, antisemitism, and every other kind of blogger under the sun. At one time there was a blogger Nins and Lori W and a third blogger where at each others throats. Our philosopher stepped in, and the fighting/bickering stopped. They all appreciated what was said, and put blogging into proper perspective with accepting that it is okay to disagree without being mean, or sarcastic.

Today when we signed on we saw you, Pia and a couple of others just ripping each other apart, and thats when our philosopher steps up to the plate and speaks. May you have a blessed day, shalom, and may life be experienced with lots of love towards each other and man/womankind.

Comment: KANSAS CITY, Missouri (CNN) ??? John McCain devoted a substantial chunk of his town hall meeting Thursday to drawing contrasts with Barack Obama on health care policy, stressing his opposition to the presumptive Democratic nominee's health care plan and noting the "great difference" between them on abortion.

McCain's strongest denunciation of Obama came when discussing the Democrat's health care plan, which would cost $50-65 billion per year but would not mandate insurance coverage for all adults, only children.

"My friends, we've seen this movie before," McCain said. "It was called 'HillaryCare' back in 1993, and we're not going to do it again. We're not going to have the government take over the health care system in America."

At a later moment in the town hall, when stressing his own bipartisan record, McCain accused Obama of generally having "the most extreme record of any member of the United States Senate."

Obama Won???t Commit to Event at Military Base
    New York Times | Kate Zernike | July 12, 2008 12:39 PM

A coalition of military groups is planning a nationally televised town-hall-style meeting with the presidential candidates near Fort Hood, Tex., the largest active-duty military installation in the country. But so far, only Senator John McCain of Arizona, the presumptive Republican nominee, has agreed to attend.

CBS has agreed to broadcast the meeting live from 9 to 11 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, Aug. 11. The candidates would face questions directly from an audience of 6,000 people, made up of veterans, service members and military families from the base.

Comment: I'm not surprise...Obama has been running away from having to stand too close to voters and chat. He knows that a realistic setting will destroy this calculated, marketed image he has been selling and so , he prefers to stand up on a podium and act out a scripted speech rather then talk to voters like a normal person. I really do think people can see this...

      • Posted By: sharenews @ 07/18/2008 2:43:05 PM

Comment: I dont get it. What else are we supposed to think? It is too bad cuz I really want to see the two of them in a sit down format answering questions from the actual voters. I have a feeling you are right. Maybe he is waiting until the democratic national convention is over when the democratic nominee is officially elected.

        • Posted By: IELeibowitz @ 07/18/2008 3:00:09 PM

Comment: I don't think so, sharenews. I have seen multiple observations made by the media that Obama seems to prefer scripted and highly controlled appearances, whereas McCain prefers unscripted ones. It has been a sticking point, I believe, in negotiations between the campaigns about debate formats. Obama wants the traditional controlled question-answer-rebuttal-followup format, whereas McCain prefers the more informal townhall format fielding questions from audience members. I doubt that these preferences by each candidate will change after the conventions.

          • Posted By: loriw @ 07/19/2008 2:35:07 AM

Comment: I want to see them answering questions side by side. So if I ran the world I would try to have them do one of each- one day they both do the town hall type and then on another day they do the moderated Q and A type. Seems fair.

      • Posted By: IELeibowitz @ 07/17/2008 4:30:29 PM

Comment: In my experience, most self-styled "brights" whom I have encountered on the Internet are especially militantly strident atheists who tend to regard anyone who publicly refers to God in anything other than derisive terms as suspect, and all believers are typically deemed by them as religious nuts since they countenance faith in anything other than their high priests Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and Daniel Dennett as a form of mental derangement. Cates may prove an exception to this attitude, but don't be surprised if accusations that Obama prays to the Flying Spaghetti Monster eventually come up.

All polls are bullshit and are only as good as the people who pay for them. Here is a numbers count that really has substances and facts. 2 to 1 people voted for Barack Obama as oposed to john McCain in the primaries and Barack Obama was competing against Clinton. if you take most of the people who voted for Clinton which will now vote for Barack Obama (Sorry all of you die hard Clinton supporters but that is a fact) it is like 4 to 1. This Isn't Even A Contest! But the Republican Owned and Operated MSM wants a horse race and if they can keep it close, Well at least a fascade of deception, it will persuade some nit wits. Also, Who knows what a little bribe here and a little promise there may result in.

But as the real numbers reveal this is not even a contest

It will answer your questions! I read it last year and it is the reason I decided to vote for him -- his love for his family and his journey through America. He is a very thoughtful, caring and intelligent man who worked hard and came from nothing to get where he is today.

      • Posted By: sharenews @ 07/18/2008 2:58:09 PM

Comment: Then there is the reality of those two books:

In my opinion Obama really wrote those two books with the definite intention of using them as political documentation to make the readers sympathetic, admiring and even in awe of him (for political gain). In other words, they were written for a self-serving purpose to present a predetermined image of himself for voters to digest with their Kool-aid. That is it in a nutshell.

        • Posted By: IELeibowitz @ 07/18/2008 3:10:44 PM

Comment: To be fair, sharenews, McCain has published books as well. It seems to becoming part of the campaign process for seeking higher office these days. Your suspicions about why Obama is writing these books, though, is still a worthwhile attitude with which to approach not only them but books by any political candidate these days. This is all part of the marketing process trying to sell a candidate to the public, and anyone with good sense should treat marketing with a healthy dose of skepticism.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jl-P1-2OKEM&feature=related

Other elements such as wright, campaign financing, rezko, nafta, gun control, only speaking English, clinging to guns and the war in iraq, further add confusion as to who and what obama stands for. I have never been confused about who he is and what he stands for, which is pandering for political self gratification.

To further antagonize the already fragile relationship between Blacks and Hispanics, obama goes before a group of Black supporters and tell them they need to learn how to speak Spanish. Who don???t know that blacks hates Hispanics and Hispanics hates blacks and for goods reasons? There is a saying in the black community that the Hispanics are the new *** in America. Less educated black blue collar workers are losing their jobs and livelihood daily to Hispanics who are willing to work for little or nothing, no health benefits, to gain these jobs. Jobs like factory workers, construction, retail, housekeeping, food service and other labor type jobs are being taken over by the Hispanics forcing Blacks to seek other types of employment in an already tight job market.

To even further antagonize the Blacks, obama says ???what we need to do is learn how to speak Spanish???. As if to say, not only do we lose our jobs to the Hispanics, we needs to learn how to speak their language because we will be subservient to them and they will one day be our boss.

He say these things to the applaud of my people. I gets so anger with my people because I can???t understand why they would applaud such statements.

Just as in wright???s church, obama sat for 20 plus years and supported it to the tune of $20,000 in 2007, while that church spewed out hate, discontent that disenfranchised my people.

In stead of lifting up a message of hope, advancement and achieving educations and goals, he sends a message of defeatism to the Blacks in Georgia and America as a whole.

Is obama that out of touch with the Black community? I continue to say I hope that Blacks are voting for obama because they want a black president, because if he gets in the white house he won???t promote any of our agendas.

Obama needs to know that yea, Words Do Matter!!!

    Comment: From CNN ticker

A lot of countries haven???t gotten a share of the spotlight at any of this week???s foreign policy-themed presidential campaign events, or shown up in any of the new national security-focused ads: most of the United States??? hemispheric neighbors, for instance, or just about any nation on the African continent.

Rating no fewer than three references in three days: the non-existent state of Czechoslovakia.

That country ??? which ceased to exist in 1993, when it split into two nations, the Czech Republic and Slovakia ??? has now been referred to as a present-day area of concern by two of the most respected current and former Senate foreign policy experts in the space of less than a week. On Monday and Tuesday, it was presumptive Republican nominee John McCain, who said he was worried about recent Russian moves to reduce energy supplies to ???Czechoslovakia.???

On Wednesday it was the Democrats??? turn, as Republicans quickly circulated a clip of former Georgia senator and current VP prospect Sam Nunn making the same slip at a mid-day national security summit, flanked by his party???s presumptive nominee Barack Obama.

??????We in this country are about to, under this government, under the Bush administration, deploy [a] missile defense system in Poland and Czechoslovakia,??? Nunn said at the Indiana event Wednesday.

So far this week, Persia, Yugoslavia and Siam have yet to come up for discussion.

A vote for Mc Cain is a vote for 4 more years of Bush policies -- 4 more years of misery.
