Simple. As a people we're largely stupid & racist. If we elect McCain then we'll get what we deserve. We would elect a stuffed animal if it was aggressive, reactionary and pandering enough. Why do we even bother with elections? Just set up a program where we send all our money and we receive a plastic bag which we place over our heads until we stop breathing. Oh wait, that's big government. Okay, tell us that terrorists are coming and we need to cover our heads with special "safety bags". Whatever. I can't wait until China is in charge, at least they'll do it right.

You CAN'T wait until China is in charge because at least they'll do it right? ??? No one's stopping you from GOING to China...and leave the good old USA to those of us that LOVE it!!

Well I am sure that this article should make the several "UNDECIDEDS" very happy to believe that their candidate is winning. I doubt that this will last. some people are upset with Obama because of his stance on FISA, myself included. But not agreeing with Obama is a very very very very very long way from voting for McCain.

Maybe it means people have figured out that Obama is a dangerous idiot!

  • Posted By: Bamisasham @ 07/12/2008 6:35:18 AM

I hope this means that people are beginning to look further at Obama. The major media has given that dope a free pass and it takes more than watching the evening news to get to the truth about this fraud.

  • Posted By: Bamisasham @ 07/12/2008 6:31:19 AM

Thank God. Wise up poeple and stop drinking the Obama koolaid before it is too late!

Ohhh BoogieShoes where are you! We need the latest BoogiesShoes/Easter Bunny Poll numbers. The Glow is fading ...

It would be nice if MSNBC and other news outlets would report on McCain's incredibly daily gaffs instead of pulling for a horserace. They're already reporting on Obama's flip-flopping lunge for the center.

Regardless what the so-called polls, pundits or what this articler would like fort us to believe - anyone can make their own polling of what peole think of the GOP in general, and the bush-liar as well. I meet at least 100 new people, professionally and randomly, each week, and it is a rarity to find ANYONE who thinks of bush-cheney anything other than two high-treasonous liars and criminals, and no-one I"ve met believes the GOP is anything but complicit in their high crimes, MCBUSH included! Overwhelmingly obvious tome is that MCBUSH will be slammed in November, as will most if not all GOP congressmenup for re-election.

The Newsweek poll of a few weeks ago was a total anomaly and was far outside the average of all polls. Newsweek should cowboy up and admit their poll was flawed.

    • Posted By: tabuno @ 07/12/2008 5:49:06 AM

Finally somebody who knows something about sample polling. It's more likely that the current poll is reflecting the usually five percentage chance that the error variation is more than the percent variation for which the number of people surveyed call for. I would assume 3% to 5% and who knows what the actual variation could be...maybe 7%...10%? Which would like the actual reflection of the public about where all the polls have been reporting perhaps? Who knows? Before everybody starts running around with their heads chopped off, let's wait for another poll and examine other polls overtime before this magazine starts making broad claims as to how close this race actually is.

  • Posted By: tabuno @ 07/12/2008 5:39:34 AM

At some point sampling error is going to happen and when it does how will the media react to it? Will the national election be based on a scientific, random, probability distortion? There aren't any sampling error number nor confidence level percentages in this article. Policy and electoral speculation is being based on numbers that this news magazine may be hiding behind to generate its own publicity where the news is the news media not the election. Month to month dependence on statistics is becoming a dangerous media game. There needs to be some statistical monitor over the statistical researchers and their editor it seems.

The media gets the candidate it wants and it wants an authentic idiot! For the media thinking about implementing a certain policy is 'flip-flopping'. On the other hand the media appreciates one lie after another if the lie originates from a neocon candidate. The candidate and the media then call it "straight talk". When the media's darling says: social security for the elderly is a "total disgrace", expanding the Bush-tax cuts is "balancing the budget" - that's "straight talk". Wow! For the media that's "authentic" and the candidate is a real "maverick". Indeed McCain is a neocon maverick. He is also a confused liar and as a liar really authentic. His straight talk is bewildered talk. Look at his spastic feeble-minded grin. As the grin of the next President of the United States this grin is horrifying.

For the people who are voting for Obama should visit this website markshannon.com/republicandemocrat.htm To learn what is the difference between republican and democrat... You might be amazed at what you will learn...

This is exactly what I was talking about you are nothing more than a republican sheep. I am an independent and if I saw democrat post a website that was a wrong as the one you posted I would call them out on the carpet also. Now before you try and rip me apart for what I have posted understand that I have some very strong republican views. So do not judge me as a liberal because I am not but understand that we need to rise above this kind of stuff.

New PRO-HILLARY website launched. Anyone who would like to sign the pledge (reiterated below and on the site), just go here: http://www.together4us.com/

THE PLEDGE OF TOGETHERNESS: SPREAD THE WORD!

We stand together with her 18 million voters in pursuit of all of the following:

Bring us together by honoring Hillary Clinton and her supporters at the Democratic National Convention in Denver by:

Placing her name into nomination (following traditional protocol)

    Ensuring a roll-call vote

Inviting her to speak, during prime-time, on August 26th, the 88th anniversary of Women's Suffrage

Bring us together by adoption of policies on the Platform Committee that Hillary Clinton has championed.

Bring us together through reform of the primary and caucus system to reflect the basic principle of one person - one vote.

Bring us together through outspoken denunciation of all gender bias, racism and other forms of discrimination.

Bring us together by making a concerted effort to retire her campaign debt.

We are being asked to embrace Party Unity without the fair representation of Hillary Clinton and her 18 million voters. Party Unity requires bilateral action. We ask Barack Obama and the DNC to respond.

to nastyfunk the way to make them more accountable to the people is to go back to the one rep per 10,000 citizens rule and outlawing lobbiests. If these lobbyest wish to influence government then they can run for US reps and then they will have to deal with thier constituency and if those corporations and organizations wish for influence they can give money to those former lobbyests to run for office. Truly our greatest problem is underrepresentation wich is almost the same reason we revolted against England.

I have spent alot of time reading the posts on this website and have come to one conclusion. We all let the media influence us in one way or another. If you listen to talk radio (both sides) then come here and read these posts it easy to see that you are all sheep. I have never been more disgusted in how easy people can be manipulated to believe the crap that both side put out. Politcians always (flip flop) why because we allow them too. Both canidates have changed their positions when it suits them! I could spend hours pointing out both of these canidates flip flops but we should spend less time playing these games of GOTCHA and spend more time figuring out how to fix the mess that we are all facing. I like most americans are struggling and wondering when the bottom is going to fall out of our great nation. I wish the politicians would care less about towing their party line and do what is best for the US. It seems that if a good idea came from a democrat a republican would vote against it for that reason alone and the same would be said if a good idea came from a republican. I think that the only way to fix this country is take make the politicians more accountable to the citizens. Now if I only had answer to that I would be everyones hero! But for now we should pause and realize that both side have great solutions for fixing our nation lets spend less time tearing each other down and fix our great country!

Shut up about Obama and McCain! THey both are awful. Th eonly choice that is really a new kind of politics is Nader and he isn't part of the party politics at all!
VOTE NADER 2008, Not the flip floppers!

"If you would take the time to read his energy policies it states that he believes in more clean coal research and nuclear power"

I love how Obama supports nuclear power, but doesn't even know what the Hanford site is, despite that it's one of the most important sites to nuclear power debate in the US, and he's voted on it 3 different times! Let's face it, Obama says what people want to hear in order to get elected. People are just starting to realize that he makes a great pop star, just not a great candidate.

    • Posted By: sharenews @ 07/12/2008 4:05:20 AM

I know, tell me this is not SCARY? He said this. This is one flip flop that no Obama supporter can respond to to deny his blatant flip flop. Although I challenge any Obama supporters that can support those first stated words that he said and then 2 days later, a different response of what he REALLY meant (yeah, right). So far after posting this Flip flop of Obama I cannot find one Obama supporter to respond to explain why he said what he said first time around and completely turned his belief around (SCARRRRRRRRY) in about 2 days . . . to say the opposite. Obviously Obama had no explanation to go from one end of the spectrum in a belief to the other. Thus, better to not comment. Sounds like I need to continue to promote this flip flop blip. : )

OBAMA WORDS: Iran, Cuba, Venezuela -- these countries are TINY compared to the Soviet Union. They DONT pose a serious threat to us!

        TWO Days later . . .

OBAMA WORDS: Iran is a GREAT threat! Iran is a GREAT threat, REALLY! Iran is a GREAT threat, I am not kidd???n here!

WHAT does Obama really believe?? What are we supposed to think if he tells us words DO matter.
