This is more evidence that the MSM is determined to make this race seem close when it may or may not be. The numbers may have shifted considerably but the latest poll does not show a "dead heat." A dead heat is a tie. To be tied, they'd have to have polled in at the exact same number. This latest poll shows Obama with a 3 point lead. That lead is within the MoE for the poll. That's all you can say from a statistical point of view. To call it a tie or dead heat statistically is simply not true. The media will do anything to prop up McCain. They're invested in him. He's their favorite.

When a liberal magazine even shows B. Hussein Obama falling the libs better run for the exits.

Now if you could find out how those with an underlying racial bias are really going to vote, you might have an more accurate poll.

Obama is a thug. Pelosi, Dean, Donna (the one with the trash mouth), Biden, Dodd, Kennedy, etc. can have their DNC and shove it. I have been a Democrat for 54 years and not anymore. I will never ever give them a dime. If Obama is the nominee I will vote for McCain, give McCain money and do everything in my power to not have Obama or his thugs in the White House.

No, butleme, Americans have not forgotten 9/11. We just rtemember things differently than the braindead Republican story line youve been brainwashed with. The 9/11 we remember, happened on George W. Bushs watch after he ignored repeated warnings of an Al Qaeda attack throughout the summer of 2001.....We also remember the botched Iraw war and the countless lies that were spun by Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rumsfeld about the smoking gun that would turn out to be a mushroom cloud. We do not trust and do not want the GOP brand of national security, which has only made America less safe and has left bin Laden and his minions on the loose.

    • Posted By: butleme @ 07/11/2008 8:51:50 PM

No harinc, I am not brainwashed. I think for myself. Yes 9/11 happened under Bush's presidency, but the Al Qaeda problem was going on way before he took office. Even Clinton knew about Al Qaeda and even had a chance to eliminate Bin Laden but wouldn't pull the trigger. As far as the Iraq war is concerned many countries had the "wrong" intelligence that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction including many prominent US Senators. So from what you have said it sounds like you prefer Obama who will cozy up to these exremists, make deals with them, and probably jeopardize our national security. It is always good to have a dialogue, even with the enemy, but this enemy is like none we've ever faced. They place no value on human life or humanity, only on their extremists views. They will stop at nothing so therefore we must stop them. You might not trust the GOP but at the same time you enjoy all the freedoms that President Bush has afforded you with his unwavering leadership against an enemy like we've never seen before.

The difference between the two Newsweek polls is quite simple. The first one oversampled Democrats by seven percentage points. This survey oversampled Republicans by three percentage points.

My question is why wasnt this same question asked about McSame? "Some people say that since Barack Obama became the presumed Democratic nominee for president, he has changed his position on key policy issues to try to gain political advantage. Do you agree or disagree?"

  • Posted By: SD_Dave @ 07/11/2008 8:42:11 PM

Since when do "real" polls ask one question about only one candidate? Question asked, "Some people say that since Barack Obama became the presumed Democratic nominee for president, he has changed
his position on key policy issues to try to gain political advantage. Do you agree or disagree?" Why was the same question not asked about John McCain? We all know he has flipped more, yet they only ask the question about Obama.

    Why

You are all idiots. McInsane's main economic guy, (Gramm) the frontrunner for Secretary of Treasury should McInsane win, tells everyone that we are all "imagining' a recession. This is the guy in charge of economic policy. He can lie all he wants and say he meant "leaders" in America, he meant the American people!
Totally delusional and out of touch with what is actually going on...Former Dems turning republicans are fools. And for you women, maybe if you're lucky and get to meet McCain in person he'll call you a "trollop" and a c**t just like he did his wife. Vote for him and you'll get what you deserve. Fools.

Newsweek reports: "26 percent believe the Democratic candidate was raised as a Muslim and 39 percent believe he attended an Islamic school as a child growing up in Indonesia. None of these things is true."

That is an outright lie by Newsweek. Between the ages of six and ten, while living in Indonesia, Barack Obama was registered in both public and Catholic school as a Muslim.

Kim Barker of the Chicago Tribune confirmed that Obama was "listed as a Muslim on the registration form for the Catholic school." A blogger who goes by "An American Expat in Southeast Asia" found that "Barack Hussein Obama was registered under the name ???Barry Soetoro' serial number 203 and entered the Franciscan Asisi Primary School on 1 January 1968 and sat in class 1B. ??? Barry's religion was listed as Islam."

In his autobiography, Dreams of My Father, Obama relates how he got into trouble for making faces during Koranic studies, thereby revealing he was a Muslim, for Indonesian students in his day attended religious classes according to their faith. Indeed, Obama still retains knowledge from that class: Nicholas D. Kristof of the New York Times, reports that Obama "recalled the opening lines of the Arabic call to prayer, reciting them [to Kristof] with a first-rate accent."

Obama's half-sister recalled that the family attended the mosque "for big communal events." Paul Watson of the LA TImes learned from childhood friends that "Obama sometimes went to Friday prayers at the local mosque." Barker found that "Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers." One Indonesia friend, Zulfin Adi, states that Obama "was Muslim. He went to the mosque. I remember him wearing a sarong."

Just remember...in DC, the cover-up is worse than the crime. Quite pathetic it is to deliberately misrepresent Obama's biography, when there is absolutely nothing wrong with having been raised a Muslim until 5th grade.

A history teacher that is 68 years old told me that the media will go down in the history book looking
like the biggest fools in over a 100 years. I totally never thought about that but certainly agree.

I supported Hillary enthusiastically and was disgusted with the arrogance of the party leaders, super delegates, and their self appointed one. Yes, I will support John McCain, and i believe there are many who keep silent because we can hardly wait for November and register our disdain for that whole lot.

That's b/c your other poll was flawed....

Is anyone listening to the garbage coming out of the McCain campaign: no apparent knowledge of the economy (it's in your head if you think times are just awful), birth control, can't remember from speech to speech what he has said. And take a real look at his marital past (too sordid to repeat here, even for a politician) and military record. Sure, he was very brave as a POW and a real hero in that sense, but can you count how many planes he crashed before he was shot down? And what was that eal about tunining down an admiralty star and going into politics (maybe because he had a new rich wife who could afford it ?).

    • Posted By: thehappyamerican @ 07/11/2008 7:57:14 PM

I don't need knowledge of the economy after I have lived threw over NINE Presidents...but these same economy the whole time going up and down, up and down..up and down and Americans praising or cursing the President the whole time!
It's what the Congress does or fails to do that directs the trend.

This congress, under DNC "leadership" has the lowest Approval of any I can remember. Multiple plane crashes added together by several pilots of carrier ship landings are trivial compared to the damage this congress is doing to our economy, security and prestige as a nation!
All they can do is pontificate on which Americans suck and as of when they started to! (The military goofs up! Gun Owners are a threat! Don't build a camp fire on the beach!)

This is a great country. A fine country with300 million awesome people! AWESOME people! Tthough some of our politicians have trouble with women and limos.! And they want US to feel ... AMERIGUILT. It is their escape rocket from accountability when something like a blue dress turns up!

      FROM THE GALLUP POLLING:

80% OF AMERICANS SEE MCCAIN AS CAPABLE OF HANDLING THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

      July 3, 2008
Nearly All Americans Consider Military Service PATRIOTIC

Symbolic gestures valued more highly by older Americans and the less educated

      by Lymari Morales

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Nearly two-thirds of Americans (62%) say serving in the U.S. military reveals "a great deal" about one's patriotism, ranking it second only to voting in elections among six items rated in a recent USA Today/Gallup poll. More than half of Americans (53%) say the same about reciting the pledge of allegiance, and far fewer about wearing an American flag pin.

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama spent much of this Independence Day week trying to assure voters of his patriotism, having been faulted during the Democratic primary season for at times not wearing an American flag pin, and for not placing his hand over his heart during the national anthem on at least one occasion. Obama's speech on Monday, entitled "The America We Love," included praise for Republican rival John McCain's service to his country in Vietnam, in response to retired Gen. Wesley Clark's statement that McCain's experience as a Navy pilot and prisoner of war does not necessarily qualify him to be commander in chief.

McCain's service in Vietnam is generally considered an advantage in this wartime election against Obama, who has never served in the military, and a key reason why:

80% OF AMERICANS SEE MCCAIN AS CAPABLE OF HANDLING THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMANDER IN CHIEF:

The Gallup data reveal that Americans do in fact consider military service in general to be a sign of patriotism. While Republicans are among the most likely of all groups to say serving in the military reveals a great deal about one's patriotism, more than half of both Democrats and independents agree. Republicans also tend to place more value on saying the pledge of allegiance and wearing an American flag pin, while independents align more closely with Democrats, who are generally less likely to place a high value on each action.

I've just decided that eight years of George Bush wasn't enough. I want more. Give me John McCain. Look, if the media is supporting John McCain, he can't be all bad. And with Phil Gramm advising him on the economy, we'll all be on easy street. I can't wait!

Obama's moved toward the center is alienating some of his base. I know I'm starting to think twice.
