This article's presumption that part of the decline in Obama's popularity is because he was quick to embrace Hillary as an ally is totally wrong. I think it is exactly the opposite. That he still refuses to pick Hillary as his running mate is alienating Hillary supporters like me. There are a lot of Democarats out there like me who would cross vote for McCain rathe than Obama because of his record of flip flopping between issues.

    • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 07/15/2008 1:49:49 PM

I agree with you about McCain not flip flopping. It is rather difficult to flip flop if you are unable to remember what you said. CNN, yes I know Obama pays them too, what a rich and powerful man he is, anyway CNN aired a segment listing everyone of McCain's statements that when asked about them by a reporter claimed to not have made those statements. Even though he is on tape making those statements.

Newsflash: Inexperience = Bad position for America's future and security. Obama's #1 and #2 Veep prospects just came out opposing Obama on off shore drilling. Reported today....

Jim Webb of Virginia wants his home state to have the right to explore for energy off Virginias coast. Webb will be voting for a bill sponsored by Republican Gov Mark Warner that will do just that. Another stunning revelation is.....Tim Kaine, another Obama Veep prospect is in line with exploring energy off the coast and will also support the same republican bill sponsored by Mark Warner.

The moral of this story is.....these men are putting politics aside to save America from all out security and economic chaos with this energy crisis. Shouldn't Obama do the same? Isn't there a time for political posturing and a time to save a nation and its people's future? How much courage does it really take to choose country first as president?

Good morning my fellow Obama supporters.
This morning on Morning with Joe, one of McCain's campaign advisor Rick Davis said that while Obama is going to be in Europe, he should be in the heartland finding out what is wrong with our economy. This is funny. The same guy who went to Columbia and Mexico and also did his European tour. Give me a break.

Hey blowhards, which ever wins, its better than the past eight years. Quite honestly, id prefer Obama; but McCain isnt some whacked out satan worshiper. Thats the whole problem with alot of you: all you do is dehumanize the other side of the isle, and to no end, and no progress. Get a grip and grow up.

The only thing that Mccain't and isn'nt able to govern" can run on is war and more war and more war and more war and more war and more war

It never ceases to amaze me what the Repugnants will do or say to legitimize this illegitimate, illegal Invasion/Occupation of a country that had nothing what so ever to do with 911. So no matter what you say is right nothing can be because it has always been wrong and always will be. We are there because of a lie and we will leave because of a lie. yes thats right when it comes time to leave our government will make up some big ass lie to cover their Good Old Boy's and Jr and the Devils Ass. of course if Mccain't and isn't able to Govern has his way we will al be dead before that happens.

The surge is not doing what it was intended to do except make it save for the oil workers to go out to Dairy Queen for an ice cream with out getting shot at more than twice in one night and extending the war so more Americans can be killed in Iraq for US Oil Companies to make more money securing no bid contracts to steal Iraq's oil reserves. How many times has "McCain't and isn't able to Govern" been wrong? Oh, Thats right he is never wrong because every-time he is the Republican Owned and Operated MSM never reports on it.

This guy has been given Carte Blanca since the beginning of his political career and to this day they still haven't reported on the over 62 Flip Flops and counting "McCain't and isn't able to Govern" (King Daddy of The Flip Floppers) has performed since he started his bid for the Presidency. Thats right performed! Everything "McCain't and isn't able to Govern" does is a performance. "McCain't and isn't able to Govern" is about as real or genuine as a half dollar bill and really not worth it. oh you say that a half dollar bill isn't worth anything? Well i guess you get the picture. There is a first time for everything. I guess you can put that one in your pipe and smoke it. it has to better than what you have been smoking!

Extend your waring PAIN with your vote for Mccain

Obama's decline - Personally I don't care what has caused Obama to slide in the polls, I hope he slides all the way to zero, but that will not happen with 97% of the blacks backing him. Way to go Obama...keep moving toward the middle....you are nothing but a corrupt, radical, racist, bigoted liberal with a political machine that will and does tell you what to do.

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/13/2008 6:55:25 PM

Oh, ConservativeChick, you accuse Obama of being a racist. He is not. But your candidate may be. Are you aware that McCain voted against Martin Luther King Day twice in the 90's? Now why else would he want to do that? Humm? This is the only holiday I know of in our country that celebrates a black American hero. The only one, and McCain tried to get rid of it. Shameful.

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/13/2008 7:23:14 PM

I thought you of all people wouldn't stoop to that level.

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/13/2008 9:21:55 PM

All right Zombie, I am sorry but I didn't post that he was. I posted he may be? As a question. I don't think he is though, however, why would he vote against MLK Day? That is the only black American hero holiday we have. Why am I wrong about any of this? How about all the times Obama has been accused of being racist? Why is it fine for Obama to be accused of being a racist every day and if there is even a hint of McCain, you get all upset about it? ConservativeChick accused O of being racist in her post somewhere here. Did you defend Obama?

          • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/14/2008 5:25:22 AM

            Yet you brought it up.

            • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/14/2008 7:09:31 AM

No Z, I didn't bring it up about McCain's vote against MKL Day. A blogger posted it last week and was I surprised. I had no idea.

              • Posted By: sirhc @ 07/14/2008 9:48:23 PM

I BROUGHT IT UP BECAUSE IT'S THE "F" TRUTH. IF PEOPEL CAN CALL OBAMA RACIST BECAUSE OF 'WORDS" FROM ANOTHER MAN-THEN MCCAIN CAN BE CALLED RACIST FROM HIS OWN "ACTIONS." WHERE IS YOUR MIND SET TO VOTE AGAINST MARTIN LUTHER KING -TWICE-IN THE 90'S NOT THE 50'S, 60'S OR EVEN 70'S-BUT THE 90'S?! COME THE "F" ON..... HE WAS ONE OF THE ONLY TO DO IT.....NOW HE WENT WHERE MLK WAS ASSASSINATED AND APOLOGIZED AND CALLED IT HIS WORSE ERROR? WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THAT IN 1999,2000,2001,2002,2003....ETC. THERE ISN'T A DEGREE OF SEPERATION THERE LIKE HIS PASTOR SAID IT, ONE OF HIS SUPPORTERS OR EVEN HIS WIFE- HE "VOTED" -HIS "ACTIONS" -MLK WAS CALLED THE SAME THINGS OBAMA IS BEING CALLED NOW-A RACIST, A COMMUNIST, A SOCIALIST, AND THEY CALLED HIM A FAKE MESSIAH AND THE DEVIL.................SEEMS LIKE HISTORY IS REPEATING TSELF. NO WONDER THERE WAS SO MUCH ASSASSINATION INNUENDOS A MONTH AGO.

        • Posted By: ConservativeChick @ 07/13/2008 7:30:40 PM

To bad that MLK Day was voted in....but, the blacks did need a martyr. Tired of seeing every main thoroughfare in large cities named MLK Blvd.....McCain was right in voting against MLK day....MLK caused a great deal of violence during his non-violent reign.

          • Posted By: Mimi13 @ 07/13/2008 11:29:22 PM

people calmly walking down a street in peaceful protest do not cause violence. Bullies with badges and fire hoses cause violence. Civil right workers trying to register people to vote do not cause violence. The bigots who murdered them cause violence.

            • Posted By: oldschoolwhiteguy @ 07/14/2008 4:52:57 PM

Try and walk calmly down MLK after dark and see how far you get. There is one steadfast rule, if you see MLK stay away.

          • Posted By: dking312 @ 07/13/2008 9:35:01 PM

MLK caused violence? Are you smokin crack? Got to be. Or just dumb.

MLK tried to solve things through peace, but racist hillbillies couldn't stand treating others like equals.

No, all white people aren't hillibillies. All blacks ain't ni**as either. But both equal stupid and ignorant.

            What does that equal class?

            • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/13/2008 9:45:29 PM

She's delusional commenting that MKL holiday caused violence and she is also shaming other conservatives with her comments.

Too bad? Thank you for confirming that you are the one who is a racist. Not Obama, not McCain either, but you are. You make me ashamed to be a conservative. I'm so glad I'm going Inde. Thank God I'm voting Obama! Oh, here is some info for you to digest, the Reps will never, ever get the black vote because of this voting against MLK Day! The Reps don't believe he was a hero. I know because my black friends tell me all the time why they don't vote Rep!

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/13/2008 7:22:29 PM

          • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/13/2008 9:35:39 PM

I don't believe it and don't want to. But I am disappointed in McCain for doing what he did. Tell me Z, why he voted against MKL Day then. MLK is a national hero. One holiday, that's all the blacks have. But this holiday is for all of us to reflect and celebrate the life of a good man who was trying to help us all. Then he was murdered. Very tragic. One holiday. That is all they have. The blacks don't ask of anything more.

                    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/14/2008 1:40:36 PM

The irony is that we both know squat about each others group but know tons about blacks. I think MLK was a great man and deserves to b honored he has his day what more do you want? You want to celebrate when he took his first steps? Or When he got married? Why isn't there a day for every different culture's heros? The fact that we all know about MLK and what he stood for tells me at least that he is honored and that a day isn't needed...now that's a case for not having a day. I personally think we should have a MLK day but I also think we should have a day for every cultures hero's. Otherwise it's a double standard. Do you see what I'm saying?
In McCain's case, he initially opposed but then supported it. He was instrumental in having Arizona recognize MLK Day. You should read this article, gives less spin to the issue....
                      http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/04/the-complicated.html
You'll see that Arizonans didn't vote to make MLK Day in 1990. So were all the people of Arizona, racist then?

        • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/13/2008 9:43:35 PM

I'm sorry you feel this way about me. I am not accusing McCain, I'm questioning him and you and others who support him. Because of the Reps not truly honoring MLK by behaving as if he is not an American hero and voting against MLK Day many a time, they will never get the black vote. They haven't as of yet and now you know why. My black friends tell me this all the time. It shames me! I'm never voting Rep. again because of this and I'm white.

THAT IGNORANT RANT IS WHY AMERICA IS IN THE SPOT IT'S IN NOW AND WHY OBAMA WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT.

      1. YOU CALL OBAMA CORRUPT-COPMARED TO WHO? CHENEY , BUSH AND MCCAIN? ! HILARIOUS!! DO YOU KNOW WHAT HISTORY WILL SAY ABOUT A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO HAD A UNILATERAL WAR WITH A COUNTRY THAT DID NOTHING TO US THAT LEFT MANY OF THEIR INNOCENTS DEAD AND 4000+ OF OUR AMERICAN SOLDIERS DEAD? HALF OF WHICH WERE UNDER THE AGE OF 24? CHINA NOW BASICALLY OWNS US, PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR HOMES LEFT AND RIGHT, BUSINESSES OUR RUNNING OUT OF THIS COUNTRY THANKS TO TAX BREAKS FOR ANY COMPANY THAT LEAVES, BIN LADEN IS STILL ALIVE AND AFGHANASTAN IS NOW GOING NUTS! WTF IS YOUR DEFINITION OF CORRUPT?

      2. RADICAL? RADICAL IS STRIPPING THE CONSTITUTION AND OUR RIGHTS -WHICH CHENEY AND BUSH CONTINUALLY HAVE DONE UNDER THE VALE OF PATRIOTISM AND SECURITY. THOSE WHO ARE WILLING TO GIVE UP A LITTLE BIT OF FREEDOM FOR A LITTLE BIT MORE SECURITY DESERVES NEITHER, THEREFORE THE HIGHEST FORM OF PATRIOTISM IS DISSENT- THOMAS JEFFERSON.

      3. RACIST AND BIGOTED-HOW THE "F" CAN A BLACK GUY BE RACIST OR BIGOTED WHEN HE HAS A WHITE MOM, RAISED BY WHITE GRANDPARENTS, HELPED GET A EX CARD CARRYING MEMBER OF THE KKK RELECTED, AND IS NOW PAYING OFF THE 20 MILLION DOLLAR WHITE WOMAN'S DEBT , WHO GOT INTO DEBT BY SMEARING HIM? COULD YOU CALL A WHITE GUY RACIST TOWARDS BLACKS IF THE SITUATION WAS REVERSE? RIDICULOUS...........NOW IF HE HAD VOTED FOR APARTHIED IN AFRICA AND VOTED AGAINST DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY TWICE IN THE 90'S AND AGAINST HELP FOR FLOOD VICTIMS -LIKE MCCAIN-YOU MIGHT OF HAD A POINT

      4. MACHINE THAT TELLS HIM WHAT TO DO? ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT W.? YOU HAVE TO BE. A GUY WHO GOT INTO YALE BECAUSE OF HIS NAME, BAILED OUT OF BANKRUPTCIES CONTINUALLY BY HIS BIN LADEN SUADI BUDDIES, ASCENDED TO THE PRESIDENCY BY THE SUPREME COURT-AND STILL CANNOT SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH? OR THE GUY WHO HAD TO EMBRACE THE FORMER (WHO WILL GO DOWN AS THE WORST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY) JUST TO GET THE NOMINATION WHEN JUST A FEW YEARS AGO HATED EVERYTHING THE FORMER(GEORGE W.) STOOD FOR? THAT'S DOING WHAT YOUR TOLD.

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/13/2008 6:48:12 PM

Whatever you call him, that is your opinion and I disagree but at least we all know that Obama didn't throw his wife under the bus by leaving her for a rich, healthy and younger woman like MCain did. McCain couldn't handle living with a disfigured and crippled woman so he left her and ran away! A hero ran away. Couldn't take the responsibility. Can he as president? NO.

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/13/2008 5:31:14 PM

I wouldn't go that far, but I agree with 75 percent of what you said.

  • Posted By: mrzoid @ 07/14/2008 9:32:08 PM

Anyone with any sense knew that Obama was never up 15 bpoints, regardless of what Newsweek claimed. Nationally he is still up about 5-6 points, and id say thats probably better than being down 5-6 points.

  • Posted By: sirhc @ 07/14/2008 9:26:31 PM

MCCAIN IS THE ONE WHO IS ABSOLUTELY SCARY. HE SEEMS TO HAVE THE SAME BLIND AND BLOODY THIRST TO GO INTO IRAN THAT BUSH HAD FOR IRAQ. PLEASE BELIEVE-IF MCCAIN IS PRESIDENT-WE WILL GO INTO IRAN RATHER ITS A GOOD IDEA OR NOT. MIND YOU-IRAN IS THE WEAKEST COUNTRY IN ITS PART OF THE WORLD. EVERYONE HAS NUKES AROUND EXCEPT THEM. ISREAL IS THE SUPER POWER THERE WITH 120 NUKES. MCCAIN CAN'T GET A REAL ESITMATE OF IRAQ-LAST TIME HE WAS THERE HE HAD WORLD LIKE PROTECTION AND SHOPPED AT A PLACE AND SAID "SEE YOU CAN EVEN SHOP HERE NOW" AS SOON AS HE LEFT-THE PLACE WAS BOMBED.
WE NEED TO GET THE "F" OUT OF THERE, NOT GO INTO IRAN-AND GO INTO AFGHANASTAN WHERE THE 911 HIJACKERS WERE FROM AND WE JUST HAD THE BLOODIEST MONTH-AND ALSO-LIKE OBAMA SAID-GO INTO PAKISTAN WHERE THEY ARE HIDING......................................THE ONE, THE ONLY, THE GUY REPUBLICANS WANT YOU TO FORGET, THE ONE THE RIGHT WANTS YOU TO CONFUSE SADDAM HUSSEIN WITH, THE ONE WHO MASTERMINDED THE MURDER OF 3000+ AMERICAN SOULS ON U.S. SOIL, WHO CONTINUES TO INSPIRE OTHERS, THE ONE WHO CONTINUES TO TALK TRASH ON TAPE-OSAMA BIN LADEN!

  • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 07/14/2008 5:18:51 PM

middkid06, McCain won't be able to get a bill passed in a democratic congress that restricts women's rights. Nor would he be able to get Senate approval for a Supreme Court nominee who would overturn Roe v. Wade, because the democrats would control Congress. Moreover, McCain is a concensus builder, not a confrontational blunderbuss like Bush. He would work with democrats to balance the budget, would sign a line item veto bill, would insist on bid contracts, and would be an effective commander in chief.

Obama's actions in the past have made it clear that he is first and foremost a pay to play Chicago style politician. I do not believe that our country can withstand that kind of political corruption and influence peddling. He promises everything to everyone, and has no plan to balance the budget. Raising taxes on corporations when they are struggling to make a profit and keep their business running and their employees employed would IMO lead the country into a depression.

Because the election will be competitive, my vote for McCain will not be wasted. And I agree with his fiscally responsible actions in the Senate. As for socially responsible legislation, that would be up to Congress, which is why I would prefer that HRC decline the VP nomination if it is offered. She would be far more effective and influential on the senate floor, gaining seniority and experience.

    • Posted By: middkid06 @ 07/14/2008 5:27:25 PM

McCain will balance the budget while we're still wasting money in Iraq? Please explain that one to me. I studied economics for seven years, and I don't see how that's possible.

      • Posted By: HDavidson @ 07/14/2008 9:17:14 PM

Not just Iraq , but he also wants to engage IRAN, where does that money come from, where do the troops come from, what about Afghanistan? He's a joke truly, and sad, strawman in WAY over his silvery head.

    • Posted By: middkid06 @ 07/14/2008 5:31:48 PM

P.S. If you see eye-to-eye with McCain on his views, then that's cool. To each his own, but balance the budget?? Seriously?? I'm looking at economic projection graphs right now and wondering if that's possible in four years, even if we do pull out of Iraq. At the very least it'll get done in more quickly if we take that course of action, but in four years?? Under McCain?? Without raising taxes? How?

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 07/14/2008 5:24:35 PM

Well, since you sound like somebody who wants a woman in the White House, what about the Green Party. I would love to hear you answer.

  • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 07/14/2008 5:52:28 PM

middkid06 I agree that McCain won't be able to do it in four years, but he will do a better job than Obama who is promising all kinds of entitlement programs, and has no experience balancing a budget.

As for getting out of Iraq, there really isn't a difference in the candidate's positions on this. Obama says 16 months, but his own advisors say not possible to safely withdraw troops before 2013, same as McCain. It takes that long to disengage and draw down, and Obama isn't even talking about cutting expenses, he's talking about redeploying those same troops to Afganistan, so there wouldn't be any money savings there.

Making Iraq the key plank of his platform is a mistake for Obama because it plays into McCain's strength. But Obama doesn't know enough about the economy to even step up and take advantage of McCain's humility about the subject.

I like the fact that McCain doesn't jump in with an answer when he isn't sure of the facts on which such decisions should be based. It is characteristic of a person who approaches issues with a measured and objective perspective. I like McCain's humility. It makes Obama appear arrogant and egotistical, elitist and aloof. If he is so certain he knows it all, then why has he been changing his mind, why is he polling democrats to find out what they want in his platform? He's just looking for excuses because he doesn't have all the answers he claims to have. For crying out loud, he copied HRC's platform for the primaries because he knew he couldn't beat her on the issues. "hope and change" and "I didn't vote for Iraq" were the only things he could offer to his supporters. It wasn't enough for me and 18 million other voters, and I doubt if it will be enough for the voters in November.

    • Posted By: HDavidson @ 07/14/2008 9:12:48 PM

Better look at the footage of McCain on his "straight talk" bus after he made that speach, getting mad at a bucnh of lady reporters for questioning his "time line" he spoke of in that speach, MCCAIN does NOT even believe or want to out by 2013...find a better example, not to mention, he may not even be around in 4yrs, let alone get anything done ;)

  • Posted By: republicrat1984 @ 07/14/2008 5:58:19 PM

why do so many of Obama's supporters, at least on this website, feel the need to insult and threaten the opposition. it just seems wrong. why can't you all just be happy attacking the things we stand for. it doesn't have to be personal.

    • Posted By: middkid06 @ 07/14/2008 6:12:14 PM

I second that emotion. Personal attacks are childish and uncalled for.

      • Posted By: HDavidson @ 07/14/2008 9:08:29 PM

Careful, your candidate is busy allowing and NOT disavowing personal attacks as we speak/write/blog ;) Might want to let him know how you feel http://www.johnmccain.com drop him a line he'll review it and get back to you...lol

  • Posted By: pearsoncrz @ 07/14/2008 6:16:20 PM

middkid06 I agree with you that people should vote for the candidate who more closely reflects their positions and beliefs. For me, as between Obama and McCain, that is McCain. I don't believe that a candidate who has admitted using cocaine for years should be running for president, much less be elected to that position. I will not vote for Obama.

As for the issues, I don't have any idea where Obama really stands. Running for Illinois senate, he's all pro-Palestine, but when he runs for national office, he's suddenly pro-Israel. He talks about working for the displaced workers when he was organizing the community, but then supports a Walmart tool over a pro-labor candidate who has the labor endorsement. His speech to the AAM was underwhelming, apparently a collectionof pro-labor talking points that didn't fly in a mixed audience. He didn't talk about women's rights until after he defeated HRC and started wooing her supporters, and his family life does not indicate a truly feminist perspective. Michelle is the obedient wife to takes the payoff board position from the Walmart affiliate, who stays home with the kids, etc. That is NOT change. She is perhaps smarter than he is, and has more actual experience in the working world, but her carreer has taken a back seat to his. All talk and no action. And his connections are simply too questionable -- Rezko et al.

McCain, on the other hand, has been a maverick, has taken a clear stand against government waste by opposing earmarks and making sure that taxpayers know what elected officials are doing with their money. To me that signals a core of fiscal responsibility. If elected, I beliee McCain will take significant steps to cut much of the federal waste. That won't be enough to balance the budget, but it would be a major change, something that I do not expect Obama to do. He has too many people to pay back, like he just did with his FISA vote to benefit the communications companies who have helped fund his campaign.

His position on Iraq has been based on a clear eyed appraisal of the situation and an understanding of the military organization and structure. I was against the war even before it started, but we do have an obligation there now that we have gutted their infrastructure. Would I rather we were spending it on our infrastructure? Absolutely!!! But that isn't the question that must be answered.

chndognyc, black men did have the right to vote before women. They were given the right to vote at the end of the civil war and elected many black candidates. Check Virginia state history if you don't believe me.

Women did not get the right to vote until the twentieth century. You have shown your youthful lack of knowledge. Why not do some homework

As for voting for a female candidate who has no chance of winning, I don't plan to waste my vote. It won't be because I won't vote for a black person, it will be because I do not want Obama to win.

I do not trust him, I don't trust anyone who admits using cocaine for years and then tries to deny it and downplay it as "youthful indiscretion"

    • Posted By: middkid06 @ 07/14/2008 4:22:02 PM

I'm confused. You want to vote for McCain so that Obama won't win, but what if he wins anyway? Won't that be the same wasted vote you could've cast for a female candidate. Why not just vote for her anyway rather than voting for someone whose views you don't share and will try to get Congress to vote for bills that will further restrict womens' rights?

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/14/2008 4:35:26 PM

Your wasting your vote on Obama. He's not going to win.

        • Posted By: middkid06 @ 07/14/2008 4:45:50 PM

As long as we're talking in hypotheticals and possibilities, then I feel that the question needs to be asked. However probable you think Obama winning may or not be is irrelevant. I'm talking about hypotheticals, what if? Wouldn't it amount to the same thing? I'm avoiding predictions at this point because it's impossible to say with any certainty who will win. I can't see the future. I haven't been blessed with that particular talent, so I try not to speak out of the bounds of possibilities. McCain winning is a possibility. So is Obama winning. They are both possibilities at this point in time.

          • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/14/2008 5:04:44 PM

I agree and apologize for coming off crass. The question can go both ways though. I see it as most of the Dems are voting against Bush this election, which is funny being that he isn't and can't run. So instead they project all their hatred and rage onto McCain, who is nothing like Bush. So by voting for Obama against Bush, they are in effect wasting a vote.

            • Posted By: middkid06 @ 07/14/2008 5:49:45 PM

Good point. I feel like a lot of people this year are either voting AGAINST Bush via McCain or AGAINST Obama because "Hillary got robbed". They haven't thought through what they're voting FOR. I think that if most Democrats actually looked at McCain's platforms, then some of them would surprisingly find themselves siding with him on those issues. He's not an unreasonable man. He's pushed the Republican envelope for a number of years and hasn't always blindly followed his party. I respect him for that. I guess the point I was driving at is that as long as you vote based on your personal views and convictions, instead of possibilities about who'll win or who won't, then your vote won't be wasted. It's like all those people who loved the Georgetown Hoyas or the Yankees while they were winning, but when they were losing, those folks disappeared. Win or lose, I think people should be voting for whoever they agree with the most, whoever's plans for this country resonates with them. You won't see eye-to-eye with all the issues for every candidate, but if you agree with 60% or more, then that's probably your candidate.

              • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/14/2008 8:42:29 PM

I agree with McCain on some bigger issues like Energy and Iraq, I don't agree with some of economic policies but I disagree more with Obama's. I think over all I'm more 70/30 for McCain, but for me the question of Judgment comes in and I really just don't trust Obama. Yeah your right, there a lot of fair weather fans, especially in politics.

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 07/14/2008 4:13:41 PM

If you check your record, it was the Republican that wanted blacks to vote. Everytime they tried, it got them nowhere. There votes did not count. So once again, women had the right to vote first.

Do you know why John McCain wants this Budweiser deal to go through? It's because Cindy McCain stands to make billions. Right, they are one of us and he understands. Hahahahahaha.

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/14/2008 4:59:35 PM

How much money has Obama received from his Book deals? That's right because every common American has a NY Times Bestseller and makes tons of cash from royalties and has a Grammy for the spoken word album.

      • Posted By: chindognyc @ 07/14/2008 5:16:12 PM

Zombie, we are talking about an American company that was founded in this great country about to be sold to a foreign company. Not a book deal. McCain did a book also. John McCain said that this deal must go through. Cindy McCain will make billions on this deal. I can see you don't care about the hard working Americans who will loose there jobs. Obama made 4 million off of his book. Hillary made 25 million. I don't see you getting on Hillary and her book deal. You just bring up Obama and a book deal has nothing to do with Budweiser and the thousands who will loose there jobs.

If you know anything about business, then you know that it must go through the shareholders to approve a merger. That means that the people that own the company, have to vote for or against it.
The InBev/Busch deal is different because they are going hostile, which means they are trying to outs the board of directors for a different board, its still is up to the shareholders (owners) to approve it. Go get yourself some Busch stock and you can make money off the deal too...
American will lose their jobs? What are you smoking, It will be different management. Do you think InBev is going to close all those Busch breweries? No, that would be a huge profit lose. If anything being InBev is a Belgian, company, the workers at the plants will get BETTER benefits packages as a result of the deal.
Please show me a link to support your claim that THOUSANDS are going to lose their jobs if InBev buys out Busch?

          • Posted By: chindognyc @ 07/14/2008 5:37:57 PM

It is not a merge Zombie, it is a takeover.

How dare anyone question McCain on ending his first marriage! No one outside the marriage can possibly understand the complexities that went into the decision. McCain has stood up to bullies before and will continue to do so. Anyone who thinks he is weak willed need only to remember that he stood up against Sen. Reed when he stated the Iraq War was lost and he spoke out against Pres. Bush and Rumsfeld for what he saw as grave strategic and tactical mistakes. He called for the surge and stood by his position when almost no one stood with him. He was proven right. This is the kind of leadership that we need.

I can, I have and will continue to do so as long as my candidate Obama continues to be persecuted over his character. In my world, any man who cheats on his crippled wife, has no good character.

      • Posted By: Pete Kent @ 07/14/2008 1:57:29 PM

Like a guy who cheats on his healthy wife with a man?

Believing in liar and a fraud like that Sinclair clown, doesn't say much about you. Sorry.

Obama will be "outed" by election day.

I love how HDavidson writes a post that makes not a shred of sense, is full of typos, and is basically unreadable, but all his liberal buddies chime in and tell him how wonderful he is and how they are right there with him.

LOL, what a pack of fools, with the blind & stupid leading the merely stupid

HDavidson, you are always ontop of your game.

You tell me chindognyc, what shift worker or mother of school age children could spend hours caucusing?

Less than 3000 people voted in the Iowa caucus. It was packed with pro-Obama students from the universities and black politicos from the cities.

And Obama didn't get a majority of the votes either. If Edwards and Clinton hadn't split the rural vote, Obama would not have won Iowa.

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 07/14/2008 5:39:54 PM

Ok, you don't know what your talking about. Like I said, the people in Iowa spoke and so did America. Obama will become our next President. Case closed.

      • Posted By: IELeibowitz @ 07/14/2008 6:03:54 PM

"Obama will become our next President. Case closed."

One person in this forum today gave indications of being omniscient. Now this one appears to be clairvoyant. Maybe we can get someone claiming to be telekinetic before the day ends.

There should be a movie called: "Not Another Poll!" I'll never vote for John McCain, especially after he said this: ???I think that we???ve proven that both parents are important in the success of a family so, no, I don???t believe in gay adoption." He's just too old and out of touch with the changing times. Time to move forward!

    • Posted By: chindognyc @ 07/14/2008 1:44:20 PM

Are you serious Gia, did he say that?

      • Posted By: jimbo3800 @ 07/14/2008 6:02:17 PM

If he did say it, then it is one more reason that I will be voting for John McCain in '08.

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/14/2008 2:02:59 PM

Very hypocritical of McCain, being that he divorced his first wife and the three kids.
