Why so surprised? We see this ALL THE TIME. The idiot, on the Left, gets a big lead, and he gets so giddy, that he lets his guard down and starts telling everybody who he REALLY is. I'm sorry that he's so EMBARRESED when "Europeans" come over, and speak a whole bunch of different languages. How many languages can HE speak? So, his wife has "NEVER BEEN PROUD" of America, and now He's EMBARRASED. Sounds like the perfect first couple to me. I wonder why his numbers are going down? Idiot.

Do you think the "Help elect Obama" ad reflects an air of unbias reporting??

    • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/13/2008 5:04:45 PM

Yeah I noticed those a couple days ago....Newsweek and MSNBC is to the Dems as Fox News is to the GOP, they are both horribly biased....but I like the bloggers here even the Obama ones.... makes the time at work go by faster.

  • Posted By: Native New Yorker @ 07/12/2008 3:53:39 PM

Hopefully, America is waking up to the fact that Obama is an elist charlatan! He has flip-flopped on so many promises, he is even confused. The man, while admittedly a great orator (with a tele-promter), does not possess the skill set, savvy, expereince or qualifications to be president. My fear is the racial divisiveness that will emerge in this country, should this man win. He is more concerned about creating a new black society rather than leading the greatest country in the world. And NO, I am not a racist....I just know one when I see one....and Obama fits the profile.

    • Posted By: KenTpa @ 07/12/2008 5:41:46 PM

I guess the two dozen or so McCain flip-flops are just ducky with you.

      • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/12/2008 6:10:29 PM

        Better than Obama's 3 dozen.

        • Posted By: Latinamama @ 07/13/2008 1:47:53 PM

I like McCain's flip flops we need to be drilling for more oil along with the other alternative gas options. He also had a great resume, compared to community organizer.

          • Posted By: Zombiehero @ 07/13/2008 4:59:08 PM

Even the Governator says its good to flip flop on those issues.

    • Posted By: TheVigil @ 07/12/2008 4:57:40 PM

I think you have Obama confused with Farrakhan. And besides which, Obama's mom was white.

On what evidence do you base the notion that Obama wants to create a "new black society"?

      • Posted By: used2bdemocrat @ 07/12/2008 8:30:58 PM

Could be that obama's 20 year history in a black power, racist, marxist church would be the first clue. obama followers sure ask stupid questions.

    • Posted By: sirhc @ 07/12/2008 4:15:59 PM

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT-YOUR STATEMENT IS RIDICULOUS. YOU CANNOT "CREATE" A NEW BLACK SOCIETY. THE RACES ARE TOO MIXED(SEE: OBAMA). AFFIRMATIVE ACTION WAS SUPPOSED TO HELP BLACKS BUT ENDS UP ONLY REALLY HELPING WHITE WOMEN. YOU CAN HELP THE MIDDLE CLASS AND THE LOWER MIDDLECLASS LIKE CLINTON DID AND THAT HELPS BLACKS BECAUSE MOST OUR THAT ECONOMICALLY BUT WHAT YOU ARE SUGGESTING IS BLATANTLY IGNORANT...... AS IN WAKING UP?! 7 YEARS OF BUSH AND CHENEY? 7000 AMERICANS HAVE DIED (911 AND THE IRAQ WAR) SINCE THEY HAVE TAKEN OFFICE. YOU HAD A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT, CONGRESS AND EVEN A CONSERVATIVE LEANING SUPREME COURT IN 2001-WHAT HAPPENED? UNMITIGATED HORROR AND PERHAPS THE WORSE GOVERNING IN AMERICAN HISTORY. SORRY......THE BIGGEST FLIP GOES TO JOHN MCCAIN. HE VOTED AGAINST THE BUSH TAX CUTS TWICE CALLING THEM IRRESPONSIBLE, MAKING THE RICH RICHER AT THE MIDDLE CLASS EXPENSE AND IS NOW NOT ONLY EMBRACING THEM BUT PLANS TO MAKE THEM STRONGER..........?! WTF- IF ANYTHING THE ARGUEMENT "AGAINST" THEM SHOULD BE STRONGER. THERE IS A REASON WHY THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A TAX CUT FOR THE TOP 1% DURING WAR TIME-BECAUSE IT "F" UP THE ECONOMY. EVEN BUSH'S FATHER CALLED THIS VODOO ECONOMICS........NOW MCCAIN IS FOR DRILLING OFFSHORE-MIND YOU HE WAS AGIANST IT BECAUSE THE OIL COMPANIES HAVE 70,000+ ACRES THAT THEY WON'T DRILL ON THAT HAS ABOUT A DECADE WORTH OF OIL. THEY RATHER DRILL OFFSHORE BECAUSE THEY WOULD MAKE MORE BILLIONS. YOU ADD ON DR. PHIL "A NATION OF WHINERS, MENTAL RECESSION" GRAMM AND HIS ENRON BUDDY LOOPHOLE, OIL EXECS, SPECULATORS AND THE 2 OIL WHORES IN THE WHITEHOUSE AND THERE YOU HAVE IT-HIGH GAS PRICES. AND MCCAIN KNOWS THESE THINGS(WITH HIS 10 HOUSE HAVING, 100 MILLION DOLLAR BEER HEIRESS, CHARGING HALF A MILLION A MONTH ON CREDIT CARDS......ETC. IF THAT'S NOT ELITISM WHAT IS?)....I'VE BEEN AND SEEN A FEW OBAMA RALLIES-NO TELEPROMTER AND NO NOTES-FUNNY HOW THE RIGHT LOVES REAGEN WHILE HE PRETTY MUCH GOT ELECTED BECAUSE OF HIS VERBAL SKILLS. GIVE ME THE GUY WHO WAS RAISED BY A SINGLE WOMAN ON FOODSTAMPS TO PUT HIMSELF THROUGH HARVARD LAW AND GRADUATE AT THE TOP OF HIS CLASS OVER THE GUY WHO WAS BORN TO A NAVY ADMIRAL'S FAMILY WHO GRADUATED 894 OUT OF 899 IN HIS CLASS...............I WANT A SMART PRESIDENT THIS TIME.

The only poll that matters is the November 4, 2008 voting polls.

Everything else is BS and only tries to influence the voters.

    • Posted By: loriw @ 07/13/2008 4:47:55 PM

you are correct. I would like to hear someone with experience in push polling explain those and how they work.

    • Posted By: mhopgood123 @ 07/13/2008 4:21:08 PM

Once the candidates go face to face the voters will see that McBush is more of the same while Obama represents real opportunity for ALL Americans. The we will see who is ahead at the polls.

    • Posted By: Pia1981 @ 07/13/2008 3:53:46 PM

That's right, and Obama wins the presidency.

  • Posted By: Nor-Cal for Obama @ 07/13/2008 2:41:53 PM

What a crock....Perhaps Newsweek's skewed and historically laughable poll process is to blame?
All other polls are trending the consistent 3-12 percent leads, and poll of polls all trend about 4-7 percent.

Which, oddly, has been in play for about a month. Wear as Newseek poll is the only one madly fluctuating. Odd?

    • Posted By: ricardo4max @ 07/13/2008 4:42:04 PM

"Wear as..."??? You edgeecated lieberals are a HOOT!
BTW, Rasmussen says "McCain is now viewed favorably by 57% of voters and unfavorably by 40%. For Obama, the numbers are 54% favorable and 44% unfavorable. "

  • Posted By: Susan I @ 07/13/2008 1:37:15 PM

Believing any of these polls, especially Newsweeks, is a joke. Has anyone here ever been polled? Do you realize that they usually only poll less than 1,000 people, if they do actually poll. How does less than 1,000 people dictate what the rest of us are thinking.

And as far as using SNOPES for the truth, I have found that it isn't credible. It is plastered with Obama ads and no matter what you ask, they dispell anything bad towards BO.

    • Posted By: loriw @ 07/13/2008 4:27:25 PM

I have been polled but it was usually a push poll and recently it was a special interest group polling to see which candidate my profession would likely support but I think they were wanting to hear that I supported Hillary and nationalized medicine. I supported neither, the person making the call seemed like she might have been black by her voice and when I told her I strongly supported Obama over Hillary she seemed to get a "smile" in her voice. I don't think the group that initiated the poll got the response they wanted by the way the questions were worded. When polls are taken you can tell who initiated the poll by how the questions are "loaded". You have to right to ask any pollster who is paying for the poll to be done. If they won't tell you or you think the wording of the questions pushes you for a certain answer you can hang up.

    • Posted By: mhopgood123 @ 07/13/2008 4:12:42 PM

Polls are indicative of public sentiment. There are other polls where Obama is leading by more than 5 points. he is ahead in Missouri, a toss up state.

The numbers don't really get real until September. McCain is not a good match against Obama. Obama's greatest weakness is his lack of experience. Unfortunately McCain is 72 (Aug 29 birthday) and looks it on the campaign trial. So with one of our worst economic crises since the depression the choice is a young, vigorous 47 year old with limited seasoning or an old tired (and he does look tire at times) 72 year old. When you throw in George Bush's lack of popularity, McCain has a tough road to hoe. I think enough of the undecideds will shift to Obama to give him a significant electoral advantage. Bob, Chicago

Nor-cal: I noticed how you only rebute certain points...perhaps you should rebute all of us if one of us! Perhaps you're the one who lacking information. Obama is fluff on half the issues you care about. I just heard him talk today and it was more fluff like your words...

  • Posted By: Rocky Fan @ 07/13/2008 3:50:45 PM

The blush is off the rose, Obama is a great orator, but inside the voting booth,,oratory becomes a weak substitute for Presidential leadershipr of the greatest country in the world... Obama is no Jack Kenndy .and the Kennedy endorsement means little in 2008.. History\\BuffUFF 88 ..

  • Posted By: PoliticalWorld @ 07/13/2008 11:54:17 AM

There is no way that McCain can have that much support. They just want to keep these polls looking close so: A) They can Maintain Commerical Interest in Medai Coverage, and B)so that if they steal another election People won't think it is odd that McCain won. People are disgusted with what this Republican Administration, of which McCain is a part, have done to Our Nation.

    • Posted By: Jill from Florida @ 07/13/2008 12:02:14 PM

Bush's approval ratings are sky high in comparison with the neoliberal-lead Democratic Congress. They have reached an ALL TIME LOW of 9%. THAT means that 91% of the public correctly believe that CONGRESS is worse than Bush. (I never thought I'd be saying that.)

The whiney Democrats DO NOT need an absolute majority to get anything done. They need to WORK ACROSS THE AISLE. Any issue worth making law is WORTH MAKING LAW CORRECTLY.

When the neoliberal Democrats are more concerned about suing OPEC Nation states in US courts than they are in closing the Enron Loophole, it's time to fire them too!

      • Posted By: Nor-Cal for Obama @ 07/13/2008 2:56:48 PM

"At what cost?" is the question we need to ask...at what cost are we going to "change" as Obama states we need to do? At the cost of our security? At the cost of losing our national identity? At the cost of allowing more and more immigrants to dictate American laws and rights? At the cost of lowering our education level because immigrants CHOOSE not to learn our language? At the cost of asking the hard questions like: "what's the real reason for the high price of gas?" We have lost our backbone in this country and until the liberals stop fluffing and speaking to the emotions of people - no "change" will come from anything democrat.

Liberals are a walking contradiction - they complain about not having enough affordable house for the poor, yet the good ol' liberal environmentalist prevent us from building more homes. Simple economics folks - increase supply, price goes down - limit supply, price goes up! And never mind the fact the China and India are beginning to consume way more gas than us. Once again - simple economics folks - increased demand for a product increases its cost. Want to complain about gas - complaining to India and China and stop "fluffing" the emotional side of Americans and start speaking the truth!!! Complain to the liberals that continue to block our own ability to drill for oil in America! Sure glad we put those Polar Bears on the endangered-species list! 20 years ago the liberal environmentalist tried to do the same thing with only 5000 Polar Bears in Alaska. 20 yeas later and 20,000 more Polar Bears and now they make the list? (There was said to be 25,000 bears living today). What is wrong with this picture liberals??? So what is Obama really going to do but continue the rhetorical fluff of the Dems? Change - how about you change your work habits and begin to take advantage of the greatest free market in the world. Liberals - stop crying about taxes, welfare and healthcare, and get your lazy butt off the couch and go earn something in life. People come from all over the world to this country and make millions - yet many, many Americans sit and complain about "no opportunity" or "no help for the poor." How about Xu Chan or Giovanni Miaorano or Jose Gonzales coming to this country and becoming millionaires? Do you hear them complain? No - they're too busy working hard so they can achieve the "American Dream!" Don't you think it's time the lazy liberals of this country do the same? WORK HARD!!! That's the "change" Obama should be talking about! Change you lazy ways and enjoy the riches you receive.

Too many have forgotten 9/11 and that there is an enemy out there trying to kill Americans at any opportunity. Yes the economy is very important, a sound energy possible, good education for our kids, affordable health care for everyone, but if we don't have a President committed to the daily security of the American people, someone who realizes we are at war (not of our choosing) and must fight to win that war, then we won't have a need for an economy, education, health care or any of the basic issues so important to us all. The basic freedoms we all take for granted each and every day could all disappear in a cloud. The first thing I'm looking at in this years Presidential race is who can best protect and defend our country. There is no doubt in my mind that man is John McCain.

    • Posted By: raddave @ 07/11/2008 9:19:22 PM

No one has forgotten 9/11 except the Bush adminstration. They forgot that it was Al Qaeda, supported by the Government of Afghanistan, not the Government of Iraq that carried out the attacks on 9/11. So, one of the wars we are fighting now was by choice, a very wrong choice. The basic freedoms that we enjoy are slowing disappearing under the Bush adminstration. John McCain wants to continue the war of choice in Iraq, still while ignoring the real war on terror in Afghanistan.

One thing many of us have known for the past two years the huge gap between Obama's well-rehearsed mojo and any substance.

It appears the more the American electorate gets to know Obama the less they like him! No surprise here.

  • Posted By: Cantabrigian @ 07/13/2008 1:21:23 PM

"DarbyRangers" you and most political analysts have come to the same conclusion.

A Republican president and a Democratic congress is the only answer to solve Bush's short-comings.

The American electorate are coming to understand the flip-flopping Obama coupled with his lack of experience is no different than the last freshman President who forced the country into this quagmire.

"and 39 percent believe he attended an Islamic school as a child growing up in Indonesia. None of these things is true. "

Did Barrack or did he not attend a predominantly Muslim school? Why are you splitting hairs and then making unequivocal statements? It smacks of dishonesty. What? The media being dishonest, having a bias, not pursuing their professional standards in plain view? Shocking.

  • Posted By: DarbyRangers @ 07/13/2008 1:07:11 PM

You people who don't believe the Newsweek poll have yet to explain the similar result in the Rasmussen poll, namely Obama was leading for the past month but now in the last few days the race is tied.
By the way, I kept track of all the Rasmussen daily polls (they even poll on Saturdays and Sundays) and McCain has been ahead of Obama in roughly 80% of those daily measurements. And the Democrats have been ahead of Republicans in every single (monthly) generic congressional poll. Rasmussen's track record in previous elections is second to none. There can be little doubt at all about both of those trends: Republicans have usually led the daily Presidential poll, and Democrats have always led the generic congressional polls. Odds are (slightly) that we are going to have a Repulican President and (almost surely) a Demcratic congress.

Davole, Match - Time - Again.....let the (h) oops begin.

    McCain's 3 Pointers and Barack's 4 Point Conversion.

A few days before one - on - one - hoop, McCain went to see his doctor for a physical check - up. McCain's doctor told him he was in superb condition for the game, I must also let you know that you're an exceptional man; McCain, why is that Doc? believe it or not sir most men have two balls but you have three. McCain, no wonder I have been shooting those three pointers the way I do. The next day Mccain met barack for their One -on - One Hoop; McCain in bold and fresh mood, Barack I have good news for you; You know between the two of us put together we have five balls; Barack replied, you mean you only have one; McCain in a dejected voice, sorry I forgot about those 4 pointers.

Richard....as a Florida voter, I agree with you. Hell hath no fury than voters....

Perhaps the change in polls is a reflection of people figuring out that Obama is simply FOS.

    • Posted By: Richard1327 @ 07/12/2008 9:47:39 AM

There was no real change in votes. Hillary won Florida 2 to 1 over Obama and it would have given her the nomination (with MI). Dem Floridians are pissed on more levels than the rest of the country can imagine. From the GOP controlled legislature changing the primary date to the DNC/Howard Dean violating our right to have our votes fully counted is just the beginning. It's been my experience that Floridians are not racist or bitter; they just agree with Hillary's policies. If Hillary isn't the nominee, we are more conservative so McCain (a centrist) seems more in line with our views.

Florida whiners, I mean voters, should blame their own glory hog Democratic hierarchy. Also, why is the reporting so sexist, as if women who supported Hillary are on a PMS manhunt and can't rest till their emotions are satisfied? Time to beat Bush, I mean McCain. Ignorant on economics, and if he forgot half he knew he'd be half as dangersous.
