(HELLO!!!)Teen pregnancy is disgusting no matter who the teen is. The fact that someone paid a million dollars for the little bastard(because that's what it is)photo makes it more disgusting, of course it is sending the wrong message. That million dollars could have been donated towards more education on how not to treat your vagina like a hole in the wall. More educations in school to are young ladies that you have all the time in world why rush. Jamie Lynn(to me) is know more then a common street walker and her mama is her pimp. My prayers go out to that poor little baby.

It is done and over now she just needs support. I don't see any gain in crucifying her.

It don't matter if Jamie Lynn is on the cover of a magazine as a teenage mom or not! Teenage pregnancy is growing everyday and this is not the cause of it. If you don't want your child to be a teenage parent then maybe you should be a little more strict with them and know what they are doing!!!

also.. i just want to say after reading earlier comments.. everyone is judging her...many teens get pregnant ..but DOES ANYONE WANNA GIVE HER CREDIT FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING? IF SHE HAD AN ABORTION EVERYONE WOULD BE TELLING HER IT WA S WRONG AND IMMORAL.. IF SHE GAVE MADDIE UP FOR ADOPTION.. THE POPARAZZI WOULD NEVER LET THAT CHILD SLEEP...JAMIE LYNN DID THE RIGHT THING!!!

Jamie Lynn's pregnacy was never glorified by her,nor family She was the first to say she was wrong .and it should not have happened ,at her age but at least she took responsible and is finacially able to support a child. The glorification is the press and it is directed at the older unwed celebrities .Don't get married just multiply.. Hey ! she is now legally married.

i believe ok! magazine did a great job with jamie lynn. she has worked hard and made the right decisions. teenage pregnancy is becoming more of a norm these days..and like the mag said this isnt a highschool story and shes not worried about paying her electricity bill. if you can buy your own house and have the father stick by your side. who is there to tell her that her pregnancy was wrong. AND BY THE WAY USER GOILLINOIS BE CAREFULL WHAT YOU SAY IT MIGHT JUST HAPPEN TO YOU.. WHAT GOES AROUND COMES BACK AROUND!!!!!!

Congratulations to Jamie lynn! I have to say that she is being responsible and I admire her for taking the responsibility of parenting. People need to wake up to the fact that Teens will have sex and they have since the beginning of time...and I admire Jamie for setting a standard that she will raise her child and be a good mom. Dont compare her to her sister or her own mother, she is not either of those people...She is her own person and will raise her baby the way she wants.

I was also 16 when I got pregnant. A Junior in High School. I got married 2 months after the baby was born, and I have been married to my high school sweetie for 13 years now, and we have 5 kids. We still love eachother more than the day we married, and I am so thankful I didnt listen to all the jerks in my life that said I should get an abortion or give the baby up for adoption so I could live my life! I am so sick of everyone bashing teen aged pregnancy! If you work hard and you really want to support yourself, you can do it. I am proof! I am a true believer of Positive words. If everyone would stop being so negative all the time, this world would be so different. I do know that other people dont have it as good as I do, and it is a struggle when you have a baby at a young age, but I know it can be done...I dont think irresponsible people that party or that do drugs should be parents...but that is not the case here.

If Jamie Lynn ever reads this, or any of her family, I say CHEERS! Have a beautiful life, and stay positive happy and Joyful. God is good, and he will help you along the way....His grace is sufficient...Enjoy your baby and enjoy your life!

The comment from 1girljm1 is proof that this article glamorizes teen pregnancy. Look, a real teen who is barely literate excitedly talking about how having a baby shows the world that it's your own decision and that you're sure of what you're doing. Or should I say "sure of wat UR doing". Absolutely horrid.

I am DISGUSTED with this magazine!! So much attention has been given to teenage pregnancy in the last months that is appalling!!! Instead of focusing on the fact that these babies have now brought babies into this world when they are ill prepared and turning it into a fad is just beyond my comprehension. I am extremely hard pressed to think that a girl at 16 years old is physically, emotionally, and financially prepared to be a parent. (Yes, in Jamie Lynne's case she does have quite a bit of funding at her disposal, but that does NOT mean that she will use it wisely). Media is not the only one to blame for this, parents hold the blame as well. Why aren't they teaching their children that there is more to the world than bringing in a baby when you aren't even old enough to vote, drink, rent a car, have a credit card, travel across state lines without a parent, you name it.

To the comment (krisesbabygirl) it is 'through' (not throw) and 'college' (not collage), please stop defending teenage pregnancy and read a book.

  • Posted By: Krisesbabygirl @ 07/17/2008 7:58:49 PM

Hey i think everyone should just leave Jamie alone and let her be if she messes up and ends up like brit then we can say something but dont juge cause she will make it throw collage and she will make her baby happy and she willl have a happy life

NO!! The government is doing that.......in fact, it's because of the government that America is already at their knees and on their way to destruction. You can blame it on Jaimie Lynn if you want.....but you must be a member of corparate america or the government if you are pointing the fingure at her..

You SOUND 15. If you want to do something about it, then talk to your child. Stop wasting space here.

I'm nineteen-years-old, and honestly, I hate when people say that waiting for sex makes you a responsible teen. How many people -honestly- wait? Having sex doesn't mean you're irresponsible. If you do it, and you use proper protection, then you're responsible. Of course if you're 14, and you can't keep your legs closed, and refuse to use condoms or birth-control, you're being irresponsible, but what about people who are sixteen, and decide they're ready to have sex with someone they love, and they use protection? It's learning to make decisions, and how to control your own life. That's what I think. I'm nineteen, and I'm not pregnant, nor have I ever been, and I didn't wait to have sex.

      Your Lost! Wake up.

      • Posted By: MissRed @ 07/17/2008 11:46:15 AM

I, too, had sex young and you're right, it's about making the right choices.
But, you can't make those choices unless you're informed about what those choices are.
        Godliness isn't about abstinence.
This isn't about Godliness and righteous paths, it's about the reality that when your growing body, full of hormones and changes is telling you that you want to get laid, you're going to go out and look for it.
And if the end result is a baby, what next?
What if the end result is chlamydia? Or worse, AIDS?

This generation more than ever needs to be informed about choices and responsibility.
And with all this glamorizing of sex, sexiness and models that are looking younger and younger
it seems, even in that light, that more and more parents want to ignore this factor and live in the dark.

Pregnancy & sexually transmitted diseases/infections are a REALITY.
And we as parents need to supply our OWN children with this information.
Why do we fight it?? Don't we want our kids to be healthy and productive? Smart and intuitive?

Thank you 'catalystica' for bringing reality to the forefront.

Maybe these are my religious beliefs getting in the way (which I'm not trying to force on anyone, just so you know), but I didn't wait to have sex either, and I think it was a mistake on my part. I won't know what it's like to have one and only one man because I've past that. And just because you use protection doesn't mean it works. I had a friend that was on the pill and they used a condom and she still got pregnant. I believe that if God wants you to have a baby for whatever reason, you will have a baby. But we don't need to put teenage mothers on a pedastal so other teens will see it and go out and have sex just to have a baby.

      • Posted By: MissRed @ 07/17/2008 12:13:41 PM

Thank you JustAnotherWoman for not using religion as a way to shroud the reality of teen pregnancy.
This is a serious problem, it's infiltrating our schools, deepening the Welfare debt and the biggest issue is that teen dads are NOT going to stick around. There will be no child support because he doesn't even have a job!

I'm all for the strength it takes to be a single mom but, c'mon, unless there's support coming from somewhere a teen-mom is not going to have an easy time. And this Jamie-Lynn character is a complete exception: she's rich! And richer now that she has exploited her kid!

Anyway, thanks for commenting on the reality!

    • Posted By: C-chika @ 07/17/2008 11:42:30 AM

very well put, may be jamie-lynn's mother should have more of a mom then a pop-stars mom.

It is outragious for people to slam OK! Magazine! It would be wrong for OK! Magazine to publish this article and call it good.....and unlikely as well. This is just the first article....breaking the news......it's not over.
Can't people just have more faith that the dang magazine will have other articles talking about how she is coping? How things are going ? Sure she's rich, but there are real problems she is going to face. Not to metion........a gazillion more rumors than the average teen mother. Plus she has to deal with more name calling and rude comments about her than the average teen mother. She is still a real person and there will be tons more articles, that I hope you only read from OK! Magazine and not the National Enquirer. Thses articles will talk about real stuff, not how much she is spending and how much prase she is getting. Get a grip all you creeps who have nothing better to do than talk about or slam somebody you don't even know.......get a life!!!

Jamie Lynn Spears is single handedly destroying America! She's absolutely going to bring America to her knees! How disgusting!

And if you believe that, you need some help. Teen pregnancy is nothing new. I'm glad that she's a happy mother. Now let's move on with our lives.
