My goodness gracious alive!!! You folks cannot see in front of your noses what major trash you really are, can you? Jamie Lynn is indeed beautiful and talented and all the other remarks made about her. Why in heavens name did not you just leave her alone to have a private life. I do not agree with what she did by any means, but the damage was done and she deserves privacy to cope with the changes in her life. You ruined it, you stupid trash rag!!! Sally

I dont feel it glamorizes teen pregnancy unless you view and present it to others in that manner. Actually in my house this would be used as a learning tool. I would explain once again to my now 10 year old daughter how having sex before your truely ready to handle the full scale of consequences could lead to pregnancy or much worse a disease that cant be cured. I would tell her how different life would be for her in this same situation seeing that we dont have all the money and fame that comes along with being a celebrtiy who is already pretty much established in most areas of their lives. I also feel society as a whole is responsible for the many teens having illegal abortions and resorting to other measures trying to exscape the assumed reality that your life is over after a teen pregnancy. I myself had my daughter a month from my 19th birthday granted I was already a High School Graduate, I began college when my daughter was 4 mths, graduated with my associate in Accounting 3.27 GPA in 18 months. I then went back when she was 3 and obtained my BA in Business Economics 2.87 GPA by the time she was 5. When she was nine I bought my first home. I have to attribute most of my success to the fact that I wanted better for my daughter and I tell her daily that Im blesssed for having her come in and change my life. My mother and father have been nothing but supportive through my entire journey and my mom actually lives in the home that I bought for us three!!!!!!!! I say we stop focusing on the negative aspects of teen pregnancy and assist in helping these young women achieve their goals despite their situations!!!!!

I am done! Not the teens aren't already having sex way to early but these magazines glorify it. What makes me crazy is that no where is it discussed that the punk that got her knocked up should have been jailed for statutory rape. However, since the Spears family is the poster child for the Anti-Bradys I guess it's par for the course. She, like her 15 minutes of fame is up sister, had a great career going and then detroyed it. And now she is saying how everything is peaches and cream. For her, sure, she has all the Disney money but what of the girls she influences? What's next? Hanna Montana gets a sex change?

Not only does it give young girls the "green light" when it comes to pregnancy but no one even discusses the fact that the boy friend that got her pregnant should have been locked up for statutory rape. But since the Spears family is the definition of the anti-Bradys there is no way that mother of these two bimbos was going to press charges! And considering that we live in a country that has states that now require daycares in their highschools and some junior highschools, what can you expect.

More stories need to be done on those people that have had to sacrifice their dreams in order to provide a better future for thier offspring. An overprivileged teen raising a child just shows that lack of parental involvement and immaturity present. The child will probably never have want for anything financially; completely different for the mahority of America that just tries to make it day-by-day.

Another great story of an overpriviliged individual bearing a child. The only positive is that at least the child will be financially supported. I agree with the other commentators. Teen pregnancy is not anywhere close to being a new concept. However, stories of how the rich are having kids as single parents is pathetic in comparison to a single parent that sacrifices everything to provide a possible future to a new born.

no I don't think it does, personally I don't think teen pregnancy its something new in the U.S.A. she just happens to be a celebrity.

no I don't think it does, personally I don't think teen pregnancy its something new in the U.S.A. there's hundreds of girls out there that are already moms she just happens to be a celebrity.

I don't have to read the article to reply to the idea that this girl's picture on the cover of a magazine somewho glamorizes teen pregnancy: Absolutely NOT! Teen pregnancy is not new, people, and it certainly isn't going to change just because some celebrity teen gets pregnant and has a baby. It is up to parents to be role models for their children....of course, teens are going to do what they want to do. I don't think it sends any more of a messages to teen readers than does television or radio. Gossip Girl's Blake Lively has been somewhat of a role model, and she is currently on the cover of several magazines. Now, do parents have a problem with the fact that her character on T.V. is a teenager, who is having sex with her boyfriend? If teens can allow their children to watch Blake Lively have sex on television in a show about high schoolers, then this whole Jamie Lynn Spears thing shouldn't be an issue.
Overall, people rely too much on media to instill values in their children. Of course, the Jamie Lynn thing is real...it's not an episode of a T.V. show. She just happens to be a teenager who got pregnant. Parents, get over it and worry about your own children, not somebody else's!!!!

The problem is NOT teen pregnancy. As a Christian, I remind the readers that Mary was about 14 when she gave birth to Jesus. The problem is, first of all, where is the father? The father must be there for the mother and the child(ren) (preferably married - yes, teen marriages can an do work). Is the extended family - grandparents, uncles, aunts, involved? It seems that in today's world, we are losing touch with what the family is.

As a Christian,I would like to remind the world that Mary was probably 14 when she gave birth to Jesus. The problem today is NOT teen marriage or teen pregnancy. The problem is that families are not involved enough. Traditionally, the teens parents would still be very much involved in the upbringing of the grandchildren. Extended families lived together.

In the world we are living in today with issues of gas, food and money . This dumb magazine pays 1 million dollars for first shots of Jamie lynn Spears baby. I am outaged because this does promote teen pregnancy, like mothers of teen daughters do not have enough problems. I had my son at twenty-four and it was rough, having a baby is demanding and requires patience. Honestly I think she thinks this is going to be fun, like a game. Her sister thought the same way and look what happened to her and how is it a coincident that all of a sudden she is engaged to married, you are forcing marriage on a seventten yera old girl so it can soften the blow ..... too late for that. I am just sick of hearing about the Spears family drama as much as I am sick of hearing about Brda and Angelina..

Great! just great! Another mouth for the world to feed. It's clear as glass that Jamie doesn't give a toot about the Earth. Also, she isn't smart enough to have used birth control. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I'm willing to bet she has issues down the road just like her sister.
I am a 32 year old man and I took responsibility to NOT have kids, I think we have more kids who need to be adopted vs making new ones.
Yes there are many young girl who are more then likely going to get knocked up becuase they could think that "being a mother is the greatest feeling in the world". If that is true once you are a mother the rest of what you experience in life is going to be rather dull. Cause you are tied to that baby for 18+ years!

i do believe Jamie can be a good roll model for teens in both areas dealing w/pregnancy,as a teen , as well as, parenting as a teen! she is YOUNG however, i do see her really as a down to earth genuine MOTHER, who will take CARE of her child, and lead a stable productive life!

I think that it is disgusting how this magazine is promoting her pregnancy. I was twenty-four when I had my son and it was very hard and diffiult. I dont care who she is or who her family is the fact that she is a baby herself is sending a very negative picture on having a baby at seventeen. To tell you the truth I am sick of hearing about her and her family as much as I am sick of hearing about Brad and Angelina.

I understand Jamie Lynn has very unusual circumstances, but I think anyone who has a baby at her age has made a very limiting choice, I don't care who you are. Maybe it's not a "bad choice" for each individual person, and that is by no means what I am trying to judge, whether it is "good" bad"... But it IS limiting... You have to give up a lot in return for being so young and being responsible for another life. I wish the best to young Miss Spears, and I hope because of her unusual circumstances she will have the ability to possibly get an education and have extra support that a majority of young teenage mothers do not have. Before any young girls decide to have a child and keep it they need to take into account the amount of family support, spousal or significant other support and financial ability they have... They probably aren't going to be able to hire a nanny and go on with their lives, not to mention the stigma having a child as a teen brings, no matter who you are...

On the cover of "OK!" no less...
At least the y will both be able to play with "Barbie"...
I do not deny the beauty; however, one is allowed to question if she is mature enough to raise a child. Let alone herself. What a crock...I bet the same issue has an article of the dangers, downfalls, hardships created by teen pregnancy.
