Oh - forgot pearsoncrz -- here's some info on McCain and the telecoms. He's big on being in bed with their lobbyists - you know - the guy who abandoned his disabled wife and 3 kids for a young, richer beer heiress, whom he also abandoned in her time of need...

BTW - this has a lot to do with you and me...and keeping the internet free - you might want to pay attention to the following:

Recent reports on McCain's relationship to telecom lobbying focus on his noted opposition to "net neutrality" efforts aimed at preventing broadband companies using their ownership of internet "pipes" to discriminate between content providers based on profitability. At present, the internet is a "neutral" playing field with free and equal access to all, and any censorship or "gatekeeping" by carriers strictly prohibited. On grounds of "free competition," however, McCain has supported the efforts of broadband carriers such as Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon at gaining congressional permission to control access to websites on a two-tiered basis consisting of a fee-based "fast track" for more profitable websites and a "slow track" for sites whose owners can't afford the fee. In effect, carriers would be permitted to replace our current open internet with a fee-based caste system, and even to block access to competitors' websites.

Sen. Obama has been forth-right and honest about his feelings on faith. I fail to understand those on this site who seem to demand so much proof from Sen. Obama and not a peep out of any of you as to where Sen. McCain stands on these same subjects. One of these two men will be the next president. That person will bring their life experience to the job. I have found nothing in Sen. Obama's life that would cause me to have any concern about his desire to see our country move forward in a positive way. It is those who buy into false rumors and hysterical unnuendo who make wrong judgements about Obama. I believe he is a good and honest man who is intelligent and forward thinking. He will do great things for our country but he along with his supporters understand that it will not be easy and that no one can do it all.

mj, on the question of fiscal responsiblity, you have no grounds to tie McCain and Bush together. McCain has been fighting for transparency in Congress for years, openly opposing earmarks, and making sure the taxpayers knew where their money was going, where all the pork was being sent.

Obama, on the other hand, requested millions to benefit his friends, major contributors, and even his wife.

Look at what they have done before you post such silliness.

So maybe you could answer me this...why do my hard earned tax dollars go to no-bid contractors like Haliburton (who put their headquarters offshore so they wouldn't have to pay my heard earned tax dollars back to our country.) Why are my hard earned tax dollars going to KBR, BLACKWATER (who are accountable to no one) and Big Oil.

Personally I'd rather pay my hard earned tax dollars to rebuild the infrastructure in America, or to pay for the national guard (to be kept on our soil,) or for education (you know - we're becoming kinda dumb compared to the rest of the world.)

Bush and then McCain will spend our hard earned tax dollar on no-bid contractors like Haliburton, KBR, Blackwater and put through policies that help Big Oil -- and these companies are not our friends. They make a lot of money by being at war. And McCain will keep us at war - to help his corporate friends.

Now you as a retired marine - might enjoy being at unnecessary wars - but I would prefer we defend ourselves from Al Qaeda types who operate or receive money from places like Saudi Arabia or Pakistan. Bush/McCain do not want to touch these countries - because they are in bed with them.

Well, that says it all for me. Religion is nothing more than a political tool for Obama, a way to reach people. That's pretty much what he said in the faith forum too. He didn't talk about his faith, he talked about the importance of talking about faith for politicians.

Golly-This article just wants to make me die and go to heaven.Wait a minute I know how Obama can not raise taxes and balance the budget. He can feed everyone by changing water into wine and multiplying the fishes.

If the authors of this piece inteded to present Obama in a good light, thet've done so to me, conservative, to some degree by merely mentioning that He's read Graham Greene. Having read Greene, Obama can't be all bad.

It is nice to know about Mr. Obama's spiritual life. But it's still beyond me to see some people are going to vote based on the candidates' religious views. Look at President Bush, a self-proclaimed born-again Christian. He did not turn out to be a good president for America. We are choosing a president and not a pope. Let's choose our president, a politician, with secular standards.

I have to respectfully disagree with the spirit of your comments about John McCain. I won't denigrate his service and god knows he went through hell in that POW camp, but he took part in several propaganda videos regarding the war during his detention. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0608/11429.html

He did speak out against his country and in his own words, "Every man has his breaking point. I had reached mine." Please make sure you research your claims fully before presenting them.
