Unlike governments of the past, the American Fathers set up a Government Divorced from Religion.

The establishment of a (Secular Government) did not require a reflection to themselves about its origin; they knew this as an unspoken given. However, as the U.S. delved into international affairs, few foreign nations knew about the intentions of America.

For this reason, an insight from at a little known but legal document written in the late 1700s explicitly reveals the (Secular Nature of the United States) to a foreign nation.

Officially called the "Treaty of peace and friendship between the United States of America and the Bey and Subjects of Tripoli, of Barbary," most refer to it as simply the Treaty of Tripoli. In Article 11, it states:

How can we as Christians condemn other religions and sects of society when Jesus dined with tax-collectors, fraternized with lepers, and loved all people???gentile or jew? I believe that Obama is trying to be a good Christian, which is something that most evangelicals have let slip away because it's so much more "fun" to sit on a high horse with a posse hypocritically telling other people how sinful they are. The bigotry must stop. Can't you see that Mohammad, Jesus, Gandhi, Siddhartha Gautama, etc all would have loved each other? We must strive to be the kind of Christian that Jesus would want us to be, which is what Gandhi is trying to say.

We all have core truths... We all have core truths as in what we "hold dear to our hearts" I believe we should all have enough brains to seperate the desparately ill, sin filled, mans heart, as in "what I feel" from the fact that we almost 75% say we believe in Jesus Christ. Well folks.... either he is who he says he is, or he's a lunatic. I have some of the same history as Barack but I know without hesitation that I am man and Jesus Christ is God! Like I said, the media is biased and blatantly pushing for Obama. Week after week there are stories showing his virtue, work ethic, vision, etc...........what a bunch of crap. If it wasn't so dangerous and pathetic it would be funny.

Reverand Wright is Obama's paster for 20 Years, 20 YEARS! And he doesnt have the judgement to know that this man preach's hate of the United States and the white man? Come on people, wake up! We all knew within minutes of Wrights press conference, to think that Obama doesn't share some or all of these core beliefs is ignoring history and fact. You need look no further than his past associations with the most corrupt of people. He is the prototype politician who will say whatever he needs to get power. All of his history of politics and personal life contradict what he now says.

This article is a bunch of bull sh**!! A typical politian trying to cover his butt in order to gain votes since he is falling in the polls. If he waffels on his own souls future what will he do with this countries future???? I am a Democrate who has never voted for a Republican in my life and will not this year either BUT I will not vote for Obama either........guess I will just throw my vote away this time.

Conspicuous in its absence is any discussion of Obama's stand on reparations for slavery, which is a cornerstone of black liberation theology. Why is it not one person has bothered to ask?

I'm sure her reasons were quite different ... but put me among the unrepresented, there is no political party that says I should be free to choose my neighbors, who I work with, who my kids go to school with or what I have to hear in my neighborhood ... until there is, I'll continue to vote for the lesser of the evils, and that is not Obama

America is one of the most religious christian nation in the western world.
There is a separation , yet people came here years ago to have freedom of religion, not freedom from religion and that is the way it should stay. Once our freedom are denied we will loose all of them one by one.
So respect those who believe and those who do not....

As a Presidential candidate, they will work as hard as possible to keep their religious views and beliefs out of the spotlight. (President Carter made himself perfectly clear on the other hand) If this cannot be done, most candidates will attempt to walk (atop the proverbial picket fence). Hence, most all the "PEOPLE" of our nation, yes, those who are a member of a particular ethnic group, especially belonging to a national group by heritage or culture too; whether their faith is in a god, God, or in themselves ,could give that candidate a fine reception, a fine one indeed!
Obama's short autobiography of "FINDING HIS FAITH", were both interesting and vague; interesting, because he took a LEAP of FAITH in sharing the (roller coaster ride) that he has experienced up to this point. Did I say, "up to this point"? Due to the (Steven King ending) of this interesting story re his faith, it dropped from interesting to VAGUE; vague meaning, Obama and the writer did not leave us any absolutes re to WHAT PATH does Obama intend to walk on, and in what direction. Obama has been open and my wife and I admire that! Nevertheless, his roller coaster ride continues in short of being sure..."Will America still want me if I...?"
