    What Obama does not seem to understand is that the Brandenburg Gate is something you earn. President Reagan earned the right to speak there because his relentless pressure had brought the Soviet empire to its knees and he was demanding its final "tear down this wall" liquidation.

    Who is Obama representing? And what exactly has he done in his lifetime to merit appropriating the Brandenburg Gate as a campaign prop? What was his role in the fight against communism, the liberation of Eastern Europe, the creation of what George Bush 41 -- who presided over the fall of the Berlin Wall but modestly declined to go there for a victory lap -- called "a Europe whole and free"?

    There''''s nothing new about narcissism in politics. Every senator looks in the mirror and sees a president. Nonetheless, has there ever been a presidential nominee with a wider gap between his estimation of himself and the sum total of his lifetime achievements?


    Obama is a three-year senator without a single important legislative achievement to his name, a former Illinois state senator who voted "present" nearly 130 times. As president of the Harvard Law Review, as law professor and as legislator, has he ever produced a single notable piece of scholarship? Written a single memorable article? His most memorable work is a biography of his favorite subject: himself.

    For the first few months of the campaign, the question about Obama was: Who is he? The question now is: Who does he think he is?

    It is now clear that what is left of the Republicon Party, after being fatally poisoned by the Bush administration, intents to commit suicide by nominating Senator John McCain (R-Hanoi) for the presidency. Where do I start?

    THE EARLY YEARS

    McCain spent his boyhood in exclusive boarding schools where staffers were paid to put up with his tirades. We all did some immature things before we matured. But with McCain, the tirades continue today.

    Had he not been the son and grandson of admirals, there is scant chance he would have been admitted to the U.S. Naval Academy. Given his behavior patterns and academics, had he not been the son and grandson of admirals, there is little doubt he would have been thrown out. Instead, in 1958 he managed to graduate 894 out of 899. Had he not been the son and grandson of admirals, he is no chance he would have been accepted into the prestigious naval flight training program over far better qualified officers. On his way to becoming a North Vietnamese ace, the aviator lost 3 expensive aircraft on routine, non-combat flights. Little was made of all that, because he was, you know, the son and grandson of admirals.

    McCain???s most horrendous loss occurred in 1967 on the USS Forrestal. Well, not horrendous for him. The starter motor switch on the A4E Skyhawk allowed fuel to pool in the engine. When the aircraft was ???wet-started,??? an impressive flame would shoot from the tail. It was one of the ways young hot-shots got their jollies. Investigators and survivors took the position that McCain deliberately wet-started to harass the F4 pilot directly behind him. The cook off launched an M34 Zuni rocket that tore through the Skyhawk???s fuel tank, released a thousand pound bomb, and ignited a fire that killed the pilot plus 167 men. Before the tally of dead and dying was complete, the son and grandson of admirals had been transferred to the USS Oriskany.

    WASHINGTON ??? Jesus is black. Merging Marxism with Christian Gospel may show the way to a better tomorrow. The white church in America is the Antichrist because it supported slavery and segregation.

    Those are some of the more provocative doctrines that animate the theology at the core of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Barack Obama's church. Obama's speech Tuesday on race in America was hailed as a masterful handling of the controversy over divisive sermons by the longtime pastor of Trinity United, the recently retired Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.

    But in repudiating and putting in context Wright's inflammatory lines about whites and U.S. foreign policy, the Democratic presidential front-runner didn't address other potentially controversial facts about his church and its ties.

    Wright has said that a basis for Trinity's philosophies is the work of JAMES CONE, who founded the modern black liberation theology movement out of the civil rights struggles of the 1960s. Particularly influential was Cone's seminal 1969 book, Black Theology and Black Power.

    Cone wrote that the United States was a white racist nation and the white church was the Antichrist for having supported slavery and segregation. Today, Cone, a professor at Union Theological Seminary in New York, stands by that view, but also makes clear that he doesn't believe that whites individually are the Antichrist.

    In an interview, Cone said that when he was asked which church most embodied his message, I would point to that church (Trinity United Church of Christ) first. Cone also said he thought that Wright???s successor, the Rev. Otis Moss III, would continue the tradition.

    Appears Hussein is a man of character, after all. I just picked up this thank you letter due to be released across the country, to all his supporters. I apologize for all my negative comments. He may well be the Messiah...........

    As your future President I want to thank my supporters, for your mindless support of me, despite my complete lack of any legislative achievement, my pastor's relations with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan dictator Moamar Quadafi, or my blatantly leftist voting record while I present myself as some sort of bi-partisan agent of change.

    I also like how my supporters claim my youthful drug use and criminal behavior somehow qualifies me for the Presidency after 8 years of claiming Bush's youthful drinking disqualifies him. Your hypocrisy is a beacon of hope shining over a sea of political posing.

    I would also like to thank the Kennedy's for coming out in support of me. There's a lot of glamour behind the Kennedy name, even though JFK started the Vietnam War, his brother Robert illegally wiretapped Martin Luther King, Jr. and Teddy killed a female employee with whom he was having an extra marital affair and who was pregnant with his child. And I'm not going anywhere near the cousins, both literally and figuratively.
    And I'd like to thank Oprah Winfrey for her support. Her love of meaningless empty platitudes will be the force that propels me to the White House.

    Americans should vote for me, not because of my lack of experience or achievement, but because I make people feel good.
    Voting for me causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined, racist guilt. I say things that sound meaningful, but don't really mean anything because Americans are tired of things having meaning. If things have meaning, then that means you have to think about them.
    Americans are tired of thinking. It's time to shut down the brain and open up the heart. So when you go to vote, remember don't think, just do. And do it for me.

    Goerge W. Bush Sr. had the CIA Experience, the 2 Terms as President under (Mr.666 Himself) Ron-ald Wil-son Rea-gan and his A## only lasted 1 term as President of the USA.

    Bush Sr. left the Oval Office with Very low Public ratings, with his Experience, Military & CIA & VP Presidential "Experience"

    His Son Bush Jr. had only 1 term as Governor (State-Regiona Experience)

    Note: Bill Clinton & Jimmy Carter had only State -Regional Experience as well, Not National or International "Experience"

        How can people who offer this kind of hate live with themselves? People like this poster could never have walked in John McCain's shoes. What he went through changes people. So many of the men that survived what he did came home to find they had changed so much and that their wives had changed so much that the marriage was no longer viable. That should be listed as one more sacrifice for the mean spirited people in the USA to be able to spit out such garbage as the original poster. Shame on that individual - not sure that he/she cold be called a human.

This article is just another religious litmus test, and a fine example of the kind of fluff that passes for serious news in today's media. Newsweek, do America a favor and start addressing the real issues of this election, not more garbage about the candidate's faith or lack of it.

      It is an unfortunate reality that the majority of the nation's voters actually believe that a candidate's faith is an important and critical issue. If not simply because of the questions of the candidate's faith than rather how the candidate intends to impose his faith on the nation (ie: McCain). Faith is actually a relatively newsworthy issue, but it certainly shouldn't usurp actual campaign news, this I agree with. But it's not wise to trivialize what so many hold as crucial. Not faith or religion, mind you, but it is very dangerous to ignore something just because it's not important to you.

    If a soloist sang to a sweet melody with her voice but with her hand played a different tune, the dissonant chords would offend the hearer more than if she had sung what she played. Thus, to sing to truth with our judgment but play wickedness with our hearts and hands is more abhorrent to God than the harmony of poor judgment and an unholy life. Like that's never been tried before. Read the story of the lady spending 24 hours waiting/dying in an emergency room and you'll get a glimpse of our future when the government runs the health care system. If you think your company paid plan is bad now, wait till the Democrats put the uninsured in front of the line. Relax, clear the demons in the false self which began around age 2 when it was told it had a name and problems ever since. Let Intelligence provide flows not trickles. Seeds grow into trees and humans grow in Gods, confirming what Jesus said, we are all Gods. If our teenagers knew this, they would love everyone in nature and be militarily untrainable.     I subscribe to Newsweek but I must admit, I've finally reached the point where I am tired of seeing Obama face on the cover. The major media apparently has forgotten the common people in mid-america. Many i have talked to have reached the same conclusion. Obama is being shoved down our throats and the saturation by the media has turned off many voters who are tired of seeing his face. We don't care what he beleives, we don't care about his early days and the supposed hardships nor do we care about his wife. Many people have had to endure hardships when the left college and all survived. Every thing Obama does is blown out of proportion. All the people want to hear is what he plans to do should he become president. We have heard the beleif and change and all the other nice words, but how will he accomplish all the things he plans to do. Remember too much of anything becomes a turn off. I think the media is actually doing a mis-servie to Obama by the over exposure.

Wright is an old fart who just went crazy one day and tried to drag one of his congregants down with him to get some cheap national publicity. It was a good little church to go to until the old man just went crazy. Obama had to shake him off just like a mad dog with a grip on your pants leg. Religion has crap to do with the presidency. The presidents are finally getting wise about these maniacal preachers, same as Mc Cain and Hagee. Hagee tried to do the same as Wright in a smaller way, to get big publicity. He has a TV "scream and shout at 'em and threaten 'em with hell if they don't send money in the mail" program and made millions more after Mc Cain foolishly stood beside him one day. Mc Cain wised up and shook him off his pants leg same as Obama did Wright when Hagee got inspired and started discrediting the Catholic church. There went the Catholic vote. Nixon had Billy Graham in one day declaiming Jews, of all things. It is getting to where it is too risky for a politician to stand around these guys any more because of the millions that the preachers can make that used to not be the case when it was safe to get a few "religious votes". Forget it. It Doesn't play.

    Preachers are relegated back to your Sunday morning misery, after which you can go home and eat a good meal and watch football until the next session next Sunday. They have nothing to do with government and if government has any sense it will have nothing to do with them either. Preachers do God work. Presidents do people work. The two don't mix very well because the preacher always wants to claim higher authority. They get in the way during the week. Good for nothing more than a refresher course one morning a week. That's it.
