    I think it is really creepy how she is smiling in many of the photos I have seen over the course of this.

    Most people would not be smiling like that under similar circumstances. Has anyone noticed this?

    A person that is innocent doesn't have to change their story a million times. I think this girls family needs to really take a good look at their sweet little Amanda, I think they will be in shock once they see who the real amanda is.     with this happening the way that it did, and in the head Christian World, I hope that many people learn alot from this. Color was not an issue at all here. There are many people from african coutnries that have lived in Italy for years and have lived there with their neighbors in peace. Right now, stereotyping only clouds the issure. However, I do know that there are strict laws for the citizens adn worse for the non citizens. And I cant see how anyone who happens to not be a native of that country woudl ever feel comfortable enough to just not give a crap about how harsh the laws are for even stealing a stick of gum when they are not from that country. If you people have forgotten, there are organized crime bosses that are native to the country that just seem to find a niche for over riding the law at times especially if you owe them money......

    Amanda isn't guilty b/c she's a slut or has HIV...she's guilty b/c she's changed her story a zillion times, and has tried to put the blame on everyone but herself. She's clearly guilty, whether the jury finds she is or not. She has been telling multiple lies from the start--even pointing the finger at a completely innocent man. She acts like she's guilty. Being easy or having HIV (allegedly) has nothing to do with it. Her guilty behavior does.

    A 'slut' - I don't think so. This is 2008 and sex is open and often and with different people. I'm almost 71 years old and thank goodness young people are 'allowed' to have sex when they want to.
    Saying that they are guilty so soon is just not the fair thing to do.

        Maybe what this competent 71 women is trying to say is that we all have sexual desires, and just because we exploit those desires, it does not make us murders. If the girl is the murderer then that is obviously wrong and if sex was used in the murder then it was contorted and then became evil. Sex in and of itself is not evil. It can be beautiful and pleasureful. It is the physical act of love. LOVE not hate not evil.

            If the sex was not used in a way that would harm her or her partners physically or emotionally, and was protected, (and we're assuming she doesn't have the flu) what makes it nasty? Love has many faces. Feeling the warm, soft skin of another living human against your own can be love. The act can be blissful in and of itself. It releases joy, it is healthy (if done right) satisfying and the memory can endure and bring a smile to your face for yeras.

              Right on!... if it is with your marriage partner , ot every other guy/gal you come across and feel attracted to. What's your sacrafice to God then, who prefers that you save yourself until marriage and keep this intimate relationship and feeling between you and your lifelong partner? God gave you eyes to see with. ears to hear with, mouth to eat when hungry, legs to stand on (while many others out there are cripple) and you find it hard to sacrafice sex and the "feeling of human skin against yours".. we humans always ask and want more and when it is time to sacrafice for God..we find it hard to do.                   Because marriage is sacred and that's what God commands. Maybe this was also his way of helping in addition to keeping it sacred for marriage, help us avoid diseases, unwanted pregnancies for young girls who end up raising these children alone. Not everyone, especially before was eduacated about STDs , ect..and the way I see it that this was a way for those people to avoid getting all that. Maybe to us ..having an experience with someone prior to marriage is not less important- or the experience not less important, but to God it is more important so at the end the Creator of All- humans, animals and worlds- His call is much more important that my opinion of how to carry out my sex life. His call had a purpose- we should abide- THAT is the most important thing. Now I know you think I am a nun.. go ahead ..doesn't matter..lots of people try to deviate me from what's right to what's more cool./hip/in ...it's never worked.

                    Well they make condoms and birth control and I don't think people should have sex until they are old enough to be responsible enough to use these things. Marriage is sacred because we find someone that we can be ourselves with. Someone who makes you happy. Someone who loves you in all your weirdness and badness and morning breath and misspoken words and temper tantrums and wrong opinions. It is because we find someone we can forgive all that in as well. It is sacred because of the power of your love. It is sacred because you would do anything to defend it. Because you would never chose to wake up anywhere except beside that person. Whether that be in a palace of a ditch. To stand beside them whether it be beside the finish line of a marathon or in a hospital chair for months watching some you love die. It is sacred because it means that you never have to walk alone again. That you have someone to be there no matter what to help you and support you and love you. I just wanted to find out why you thought is was. I was so hoping you'd have a better argument than "that's what God commands."

                      What you have pointed out is only the obvious. Did you ever think that maybe for the reasons you mentioed God wants it to be sacred. Marriage is not just about sex, but all you mentioned above. And for the one you love- like you described above- which sounds Oh so great- wouldn't you want to save yourself for such a person?For that one person who will hold your hand to the very end and all the wonderful things you mentioned about - wouldn't it be great if only that one person really fully had you0 and no one before them?                         And I don't want to hear because God commanded it, because it is not a reason. Why did God command it? Then if that reason is valid then your argument becomes valid don't hide behind theological hearsay. And if you only use the line because God commanded it because its what people don't want to hear then your whole reasoning processes seem to be flawed. (but I kind of already suspected that )

                        I think your are confusing ownership with love. The only person I want to "really fully" have me is myselfe. Life is a journey and I wouldn't want someone I loved to have stifled healthy desires just because they hadn't made it far enough down the road to meet me. I love myself and my sexuality is apart of who I am. It is healthy and mature. I wouldn't want to stunt its growth and become frustrated. Sexual repressions and frustration can lead to aggression, stress, social awkwardness, lack of confidence, and lots of others. Not to mention the fact that I will be awesome in bed when I met the person I will marry. I have learned lots of ways to pleasure the senses. Way I would never know if I hadn't experimented. Give me crazy good, insanily pleasurable oral over some absurd sense of ownership any day!!!!!

                    i comepletely agree with you. nun jj! god intended sex to be more than just touch. It should not be the way america has portrayed it. it is not a good thing that sex be so open. I don't know if everyone has seen some of the crap on tv and the internet that i have such as two girls and one cup, but it is repulsive. where is the fantasy to sex anymore? people are letting "it" be so known that they have to come up with or reach for new heights of sexual fantasy or pleasure. I think that has a great deal to do with this case

          The fact is, Christianity uses circular logic. And the Christian bible is not the guidelines for law in this or any country that I know of. You must be able to provide rational logical arguments for the basis of your opinions to be considered in rational logical conversation. You can't just say that God said it and so be it.             When there were no laws in the world, where do you think people got them from? If it wasn't for God's words in his holy books, mankind would not know where to began in forming sensible laws for people to live in harmony . Even till this day when you are under oath, you must place your hand on a holy book and swear. So God is a pretty good arguemnet to me. And there were senisble socieites with sensible laws before Chrisiantiy.     these people are in prison for what they done, and they deserve to get hte punishment, the court can throw at them later this year.

          I focused on Amanda because most of the nasty comments are about her personality. And mostly is repeating one and the same - She is guilty coz she is a slut and has HIV! OK, Amanda likes to make it often and with different patners, she was negligent not using condoms and she got HIV, but.....is that making her bad person?

    I share the opinion of mmm...wiiine! Nomatter what is written in the dairy of Amanda, that doesnt make her a murderer! I am not a saint, I just dont understand why one person has to be judjed on base of its behavior!     What can i say, I like to pass judgement on my spare time. Being a United States citizen has provided me with this freedom. You have been "ENLIGHTENED" spriritual one......Currently attending college has proved to me that whatever we are taught at home or how we are raised by our family does not guarantee that we will live a sweet an innocent life. In fact many people that I know are exactly like Amanda, they practically give themselves away to anyone who will provide them with attention. Its all about attention with students. I can only imagine that Amanda disliked her roomate because she was stealing some of her attention from other guys.
