Look, it's this: Bluntly, if people REALLY want to sort through the truths about Obama, they have plenty of opportunities to find out. Most.. Of. The. Doubters. Just. Don't. Want. To. They simply want to believe that whatever's out there about him is true. Period. Why? Because they can feel better about themselves and completely "justified" when they don't vote for him in November. And further, yes, it's the White Elephant
Thing, race. It's not enough that the "obvious" reasons from their POV not to vote for Obama, such as Rev. Wright, the "bitterness" comment, Ayers, and any other things, whatever they may be is there, it's that these voters must have an EXCUSE not to vote for him. In my opinion, if you don't like Obama, just don't vote for him, and stop looking for any excuse to justify not voting for him. I'll respect a voter more if they're honest about not voting for Obama because of his race, than one who'll say they will vote for him, and won't (The Bradley Effect). Me, I'm voting for him. Yes, I'm black, but you know what? I would've voted for Hillary (I'm a Yellow-dog Dem). Heck, I've voted for white folks for years without batting an eye--because most their views were in line with my views. It's the ideas of my party and what they can do for me, not the race or sex of the candidate that I care most about. I wouldn't have cared if Bozo the Clown was running this year as the party's nominee, I would've voted for him. The Republicans have had their chance (McCain's, his in 2000), and they've blown it, and need to step aside. If Obama can't do the job (and his work will be cut out for him), he'll be out in four years. It's as simple as that for me. Huzzah.
