Cynthia McKinney and the Green Party offer a choice that represents the positions of the majority: an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan; single payer, universal health care; an end to the highest incarceration rate in the world and an energy policy that phases out nukes and fossil fuels without relying on cropland and deforestation. Rep. McKinney has boldly stood up to special interest lobbies and has endured attempts at character assassination. Now it is time for progressives to stop enabling the lame corporate candidates and to back a respectable alternative.

In 2001 the United States withdrew most of its diplomatic participation in the United Nations' World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia And Related Intolerance in Durban, South Africa after it became clear that the gathering would give prominence not only to anti-American but also to anti-Israel and anti-Semitic leaders. Despite this, seven members of Congress including Congresswoman McKinney attended, and they, plus another seven congressional Democrats, lent their prestige to what became an anti-Jewish hatefest.

In May 2002 McKinney was one of 17 House Democrats who voted against a House Resolution (HR 392) expressing support for Israel as it faced terrorist attacks that killed more than 600 civilians. The resolution she opposed stated that, "the United States and Israel are now engaged in a common struggle against terrorism."

In 2002, after McKinney lost her bid for the Democratic nomination to her seat in Congress, her father offered the media a four-letter word as explanation: "The Jews, J-E-W-S." McKinney lost to a more moderate African-American woman, Denise Majette.

Many Jewish leaders had given support to her opponent after it came to light that McKinney had taken huge political campaign contributions from radical Muslims, including some with links to terrorist-supporting organizations. McKinney also had the support of Minister Louis Farrakhan.

In 2000 Cynthia McKinney was one of only 15 Members of Congress to vote against the "Born-Alive Infants Protection Act." This measure provided that if during the procedure commonly called a "partial birth abortion" a nearly-born infant slipped entirely out of its mother before its brains were vacuumed out, it would acquire the human rights of a person already born.

Cynthia McKinney is a racist, anti-semitic, conspiracy theorist who:

Congresswoman representing the 4th District of Georgia, DeKalb County
Member of the radical Progressive Caucus
Voted to legalize the killing of babies after they are born
Voted against a resolution supporting Israel in the War on Terror, but refused to vote for a resolution condemning the anti-Semitic statements of a disciple of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan
Told a Saudi prince she would accept his offer of $10 million that New York Mayor Rudi Giuliani rejected because it came with anti-Semitic strings attached
Provided propaganda for Communist FARC guerrillas in Colombia
Voted against school vouchers for black parents in Washington, D.C.
"We know there were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11. What did this administration know and when did it know it, about the events of September 11th? Who else knew, and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered????.What do they have to hide?" -- Rep. Cynthia McKinney
"Ms. McKinney is a racist and anti-Semite of the first rank. If she were white and male, she would be David Duke." -- Peter Swartz, Professor Emeritus, Cornell University
"She is a racist. She bases everything on race. Everything bad that has ever happened to her is because she's black. She's anti-Semitic, that's who she is." -- Rep. Tom Delay (R-Texas)

I tried to help Hussein. I said it several times, in this forum. Hussein should have chosen Cynthia, as his running mate. Same ideology, same attitudes (oh, sorry....thats MicHELLe), same base constituency. Did he listen, to HolyRollers advice??? NOOOOOO. so now, the potentially unbeatable, I HATE WHITEY ticket, goes down the drain. Wonder what Imam Wright and Louie F think, about this?

Straight up, though....McKinney will hurt Hussein BAD. Much of the militant, left-wing, base that so loved their messiah, will lose their religion faster than you can say, well....Jim and Tammi Faye. She will do far more damage to Hussein, than Nader did to Gore. And that was the game breaker. Hussein is in big trouble. Wonder who Jesse will vote for?

    NOBAMA!!!

    NEW YORK TIMES
Obama Wont Commit to Event at Military Base
    New York Times | Kate Zernike | July 12, 2008 12:39 PM

A coalition of military groups is planning a nationally televised town-hall-style meeting with the presidential candidates near Fort Hood, Tex., the largest active-duty military installation in the country. But so far, only Senator John McCain of Arizona, the presumptive Republican nominee, has agreed to attend.

CBS has agreed to broadcast the meeting live from 9 to 11 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, Aug. 11. The candidates would face questions directly from an audience of 6,000 people, made up of veterans, service members and military families from the base.

8 Min Video: Montage of Contradictory Statements by OBAMA on IRAQ

    Subliminal Messaging, or Over-Active Imaginations?
    July 18, 2008 5:54 PM
    By Rick Klein

    EXCERPT:

There is a longtime tradition in political advertising to look beyond the message to the subtext -- and even to the subliminal.

In that spirit, a veteran Democratic operative offers an interesting observation of the newly released anti-Obama Web video produced by the McCain campaign. The VIDEO is an EIGHT-MINUTE montage of sometimes CONTRADICTORY statements about the Iraq war made by Sen. Barack Obama.

Warning: Make sure you are sitting down before you watch this video. . .you may become dizzy.

The base that McKinney is drawing into the Green Party are the millions of people of color and other progressives who are disenfranchised at the polls and by the system, and the near-majority of them do not vote. Her candidacy needs only 5% of the votes cast in order to establish a third party, which we need to hold whoever wins accountable to the American people. I wonder, is she planning on assaulting any more Capital Hill police officers?

      • Posted By: sharenews @ 07/19/2008 3:31:34 AM

Hey I dont care, if she can pull in any undecided voters or Hillary Supporters (or non voters) to lessen the likelihood of Obama getting elected more power to her. Now I know who she is. I remember that event that occurred between her and the police now.

I can't decide whether Cynthia McKinney is obtuse or just evil. She can only hurt the Democratic party when she hasn't a chance of winning in November. Sometimes I think black people are like crabs in a barrel....(witness Jessie Jackson)....as soon as one reaches the top, the others pull him right back down.

There you go, You are the first idiot on this blog. Congratulations, by your name I would assume that you would be busy putting staw in your children's shoes, or cleaning your father/baby daddy's spitoon. You brain dead, morally bankrupt, inbred cretin!

There has never been a November election for President in which i cast my vote for a third-party candidate, NOR do I intend to do so this year. ...However, regarding this notion of third-party candidates being spoilers, even SUPPOSING that, as a voter, I might consider voting for a third-party candidate, the notion that such a cabdidate would be "taking" my vote from the major-party candidate I would otherwise vote for, feels offensive to me: My vote does NOT "belong" to ANY candidate until I actually cast my ballot in November. EVERY candidate who wishes to receive my vote (including third-party AND major-party candidates), must EARN my vote; NO candidate has any "claim" on ANY citizen's vote, until citizens FINALIZE their choices by actually CASTING their ballots in the election.

You know the Green Party' s agenda sounds good. In order to start another party other than Dem or Rep takes time. It would be nice to have 3 -4 parties running. All od her Ideas sound wonderful. The Dept of Peace is good. If we could get a law passed the those in the US house of reps and Congress could only serve 3 terms that would be good as well. How many people just keep going back election after election? According to the Dem Party none of them can work together or accross party lines without the help of Obama? Some of these people have been there 20-30 years? Doesn't that make anoyone else question just what have our US Congress and US House Reps been doing since they can't get along?
Maybe putting a few more parties in there will help them work together and give us more choices in the elections. I might give my vote to the Green Party? Just to support the idea of getting a 3rd party in the main mix. They only 5% for federal funding. Since Obama didn't take his - maybe he could give it to them to get them started............

Perhaps you should not assume that if one black person reaches the top that all others should submit their opposing principles. What do you say of Bob Bar and Ralph Nadar?

  • Posted By: cynthiarocks @ 07/16/2008 1:06:03 AM

Niether Cynthia McKinney's Power to the People campaign nor the Green Party take any lobbyist or corporate funding as a matter of principle, it is all small grassroots donations from those who support an independent candidate for office. The politics of the Green Party (peace, ecological wisdom, social justice and participatory democracy) are supported by voters and non-voters who will not vote for Obama anyway

What a crock of patudy. It's a small percentage of black people who just get on my last nerve. Envy and down right ignorance are precisely the reasons black people have not advanced any further than they have today. We don't know how to support one another and be happy for someone other than ourselves for acheivements. This just discus me. I hope she only gets two votes, hers and her running mates.

Go Green Party.... 5% of the vote is do-able if we help!!!
