Quality Wins

The list of this year's Emmy nominations has our critic pleasantly surprised.

Comment: I agree about Amy Ryan from the Office--however she only appeared in one episode, so.... ? Also I'm very excited to see Kathy Griffin nominated for her hilarious and, at times, touching show on Bravo AND her stand-up special! I hope she takes home an Emmy.

Comment: The fact that 'The Wire' didn't receive an Outstanding Drama Series nom or any acting nomination is an absolute joke.
Once again the Emmys prove that they should be taken with a grain of salt.

Comment: I think that the quality of tv has dipped sharply this year. Four of my favorite shows were canceled while mindless reality shows and sitcoms flourish. I think the four shows that were canceled were some of the best written on tv; {Jericho, Moonlight, Shark and Women's Murder Club]. We have all but stopped watching the networks now and paid extra to get more satellite channels. Obviously the networks are shopping for a low IQ demographic.

Comment: Comment: Herein lies the greatest Emmy oversight of all: Brad Beyer, "Jericho," CBS. In a particularly heart-wrenching scene with deaf kid sister Bonnie (Shoshanna Stern), Beyer had viewers feeling every pinch of emotion, crying right along with him as he signed his goobyes and "thank you....thank you." I'll never forget Jericho, or the non-verbal acting brilliance between these two characters. "Jericho" itself was a quality drama that was sadly overlooked.

Isn't it ironic: Xerox is hoping it can profit by teaching companies how to reduce their printing.
