Fashion Police: Flint Cracks Down on Sagging

How ridiculous! Come on....there are far more important and illegal things to worry about. The "style" may look stupid to some (I don't like it) but each to his own. Do we still live in America???

For the record I would like to say that I can't stand to see someone with their pants sagging below their butt. However, do I think it should be a punishable offense that could lead up to a year in jail? Hell NO! Our jail system is already over crowded. Just think, when you go to jail and some big ol' dude who is convicted of murder asks you why you are there and you have to tell him because you wore your drawers too low. Please! I think this police officer should be fired. It is my opinion that the Law enforcement agencies should stick to enforcing the law instead of writing it. I'm sorry but just because you are a police officer doesn't make you an expert on law. This is just another example of the police harassing the public. I hope this officer gets what is coming to him. Here's an idea. Go out and catch real criminals like murderers, rapists, thieves and leave the innocent kids with saggy pants alone.

This is completely ridiculous. This is a very scary trend in lawmaking as people in power feel that they can legislate using their own person beliefs and preferences. I have absolutely no problem with guys "Sagg'n" it. People should be able to dress the way they feel without society dictating what they should be wearing. Next thing you know, they'll pass a law on haircut styles and hair lengths..like your in Catholic school or something. Come on people, get a grip. Also, if they are passing a "Sagging" law, where's the "Thong" law..let's be fair now..gotta include the girls too.

Are you kidding me. I must say, most of the people that have posted comments on this subject are dead on. I am a mother of a 14 year old and he isn't into this fad yet but, I am sure that at some point he will be. So long as his bare skin on his butt isn't showing I am ok with that. While it isn't the most flattering way to wear your pants, it is their way of expressing themselves. Lets think about this for a moment. A journey back in time if you will. Leg warmers, not the hottest look oh but wait, you were not the bomb unless you had the sweater to match. Parachute pants, so attractive when you can see every dimple of cellulite. None the less we wore these things. As so many of you have said, whats next. I must say all of you out there in tv land that made comments about fat people wearing certain items of clothing, I totally agree. Why is it acceptable to have your flap hanging out bare skin and all. Talk about indecent exposure! Ugly people, perhaps they need to be locked up as if they were leppers. We must remember that this man is in an interim position, INTERIM being the optimal word. I understand the safety factor as far loose clothing being caught in machinery but that should have been for the employer to deal with. Hiding weapons, DUH, cavity searches are done for a reason, conceiling weapons can be done with or without baggy pants. I see people everyday that have no business wearing the things that they do and i am sure that many of you have said "do they not look in a mirror before they left their house." I am not a believer of the theory that even large people can look good in certain things if they posess confidence. Perhaps some people shouldn't be so confident. Back to the subject at hand. Summing it up, this man has not right to take this to such an emtreme. This should not be a law. Perhaps he thinks that a molester can still be a molester so long as his pants fit his butt.

The individuals who like to "sag" look hilarious! Definately makes for a good laugh when you're having a bad day!

I think people should wear what they want, when they want. Sagging isn't harmful to anyone... It's your own preference. Just because some people have nothing more important to worry about they try to nit pick other things and people. Everyone has their own view and the way they see and do things. Thats just the way it is and they shouldn't have to change because it "offends" someone else. Get over yourself, and worry about you and your beliefs. And stop trying to change everyone else. How boring would it be if we were all the same with same dress codes,views and beliefs? Quite boring.

If a woman walks down the street in Flint Michigan wearing a two piece bathing suit, how is it ruled in comparison to sagging? If someone were at the beach and sagging and a woman is wearing her bikini or thong bathing suit, how do you effectively rule which is illegal???

I think all cities should support this ban!!! These kids don't know how stupid and unkept they look!!! Shame on them. You call this style? Be real!!!

I don't want to look at other peoples underwear, whether its a thong showing when girls wearing low cut jeans sit down, or some guys underwear because no one taught him how to "pull up his pants". This is a reflection on the parents for allowing them to buy clothes like that to begin with. It's not freedom of expression unless your expressing your lack of morals.
