Fashion Police: Flint Cracks Down on Sagging

As an almunae advisor to a Kettering University (located in Flint) sorority chapter I learned that while Kettering fraternaties that are all male have chapter houses where members live, sororities cannot. You see, according to local laws in Flint, if more than six women occupy a house within the city of
Flint is is deemed a brothel. The no sagging law pales in terms of ridiculousness in light of this absurd law.

to sagging sucks. you are the dumbass. if you knew any history what soever you can speak. until then shut the hell up. the first recorded incident of "sagging" was a fashion in the jazz and blues african_american clubs between 1925 &and 1926.this is clearly a man with dislike for a style, although i do not agree with it i understand his opinion, .it is not a good look and it does not say alot about the men that wear it ;but let's not forget it is attire for a teenager. we all had our phases and made alot of fashion mistakes as teens some of us still do. however, dislike for another persons fashion taste does not give the right to violate a persons rights.

I thought that "sagging" actually came from prisoners and that in prison it means your available.

This guy is crazy. How can anyone justify the money and time in arresting young adults because of the way they wear their clothes. I lived in Flint, and the City should definetly be focusing on some other issues such as safety and crime. The jail was recently closed due to a budget short fall. Where does he intend on harboring these so called criminals when they do not pay their tickets and a FTA puts them in jail??? Come on, what a joke. My 10 year olds sags; he is tall, skinny, and no hips and his jeans sag down along with the belt. I won't be going to Flint with him. :)

Sagging in the jails and prison was a sign who takes it in the rear. When they got paroled they would wear this style to let others who have been released that they are available. This takes out the guess work and gives the parolee a better chance to find the recievers. This still takes place today.

Sagging is not a fashipn trend, unless you've been to prision. This "style" is derived from convicts. I can't say it should be against the law, becuase I believe in civil rights, but it should not be marked a "fashion" anything!

Amen to the City of Flint and it's police. It's about time someone took a stand. City Council of Flint, stand behind your Police Department, soon other cities will follow. Thank you.

Showing off your underware in public is not a fashion statement, it is a hostile statement done to intimidate the majority of the public. Lets face it the style as it is called only by those that dress in this garb was originally done to draw attention and disorder to those people who would otherwise be ghosts, because they have no respect for the people around them because they have no respect for themselves. Their parents should be the one that gets the fine if they are under the age of 17. If these type of people had any type of values they would only dress like this when they are around their own kind who does not find this dress repulsive. But them that would not be the point, would ity, the only reason they dress like that at all is to just intimidate the rest of the population. As far as the police are concerned records show that that sagging is more associated with gang violence and drugs than not, the polise are just looking out for people who respect others and their space.
