Fashion Police: Flint Cracks Down on Sagging

How stupid that people have to be told to pull their pants up before leaving the house! Get real! Are they too lazy? Do they think it looks good? Stupid is as stupid does! Try getting a decent job looking like that! Unless the ACLU is hanging around threatening to sue, you will have a hard time getting any job!

If my kid tried to leave the house with his pants "sagging" he better have a roll of tape on him because his jaw will be "sagging" after I knock him one. I don't know how these kids think showing off there *** stained boxers that mommy still washes for them is cool? They need to grow up. No "Man" would ever display himself so poorly. When these individuals walk into my office looking for work I have them escorted out and advise them to come back when they are dressed like a professional. Good luck getting a job dressed like that. Hat's off to the officers that are finally doing something! Crime starts at the root. First the kid believes he's "cool" then he robs someone. If they kids are looking for "style, man" buy a GQ and look at the pictures. You don't have to know how to read to look at pictures!

I was born in Flint, back in '68, when Flint was a nice city to live in, but the last 20 years have been hell on Flint, with all the plants closing and the downtown area not taking off like City Officials thought it would...Even their redevelopment plan flopped. A lot of the blame should go to the Mayor himself, but you won't read about that here. Too many cover-ups and not enough money for the things Flint REALLY needs.
I was smart enough to move away before things got too bad, but I feel for the people who still live there. All I can say now is, "The last person to leave Flint turn out the lights."

I think that it is about time that a city official has the testicular fortitude to stand up to these slobs. It not only makes the "saggers" look unclean and like a delinquent, it makes the rest of us who try to have a decent appearance sick to our stomach, I say that the award for the biggest cohoneys for the year should go to Mr. Dicks. I just think this is hilarious. I had it when guys sag, or for that matter when girls wear their pants so low you can practically see their pubic area. But, if they take away this, they might take away other things that I consider fashion, or comfortable for that reason. I think their has to be a balance. But I still think it's funny.

The unemployment rate in Flint Metro Area is 7.80 percent(U.S. avg. is 4.60%). Recent job growth is Negative. Flint Metro Area jobs have Decreased .... With that said, we now know it is not the result of a "heavy" wallet that causes the pants to sag

It's about time someone took action on this! If boys/young men are going to only halfway wear their pants, why do they put them on in the first place.

I wish they would outlaw it everywhere -- it disgusting looking, but so are the low rider jeans the girls wear with their muffin-top fat roll hanging out..... There is a store in my town with a sign on the door that reads --- 'keep your pants up around your waist, or don't bother coming in'....

Oh please....I grew up in Flint (escaped at 21)....Chief Dicks needs to reevaluate that city's priorities. They are plagued with unemployment, foreclosures and violent crime.....get a grip Chief....let the fashion police handle the sagging.....you should stick to real law breakers!

Good grief! Now we have cops setting dress standards. Although I don't particularly care for the 'sagging' look, I feel that in no way does it violate the current standard as established by the conduct policy as stated in the article. I'm sure that there is enough real crime in Flint to keep cops occupied without this nuisance added to their duties.

Sagging has been around since the end of the 1980s. While most of these kids think it is simply cool to look this way, the look is the result of gang-bangers having to wear baggy clothes in order to disguise the fact they were strapped. Its also comes from not being allowed to wear belts in prison.

Why regulate this now? While I hate the look, after twenty years "sagging" is now part of urban cultural expression and for that reason should not be regulated.

I Like it! I am 20 yrs old and have a professional job! There is no way you would ever get a job like that!! So put some good cloths on and get a job!

would you vote Obama for president if he were "sagging"?...the only people who would be cool with that, most likely don't vote. If McCain was "sagging", people would just say the old man let his pants fall down again...It should be every Americans' right to look like a dumb*ss if he or she chooses; but if you get treated like a dumb*ss, that's par for the course.
