      Contradiction? Are you SURE you want to go there? Alright, let's play:
      McCain was for upholding Roe v. Wade in 2000 and now opposes Roe v. Wade.
      McCain opposed offshore drilling, now he is for it.
      McCain opposed Bush's Paris Hilton tax break, now he is for them.
      McCain opposed torture (having been tortured himself), now he has voted for it!
      McCain opposed right wing Christian demagoguery, now he is all for it.

      I could write more, but really, I can go and on. Obama has changed on some issues but they are not drastic and certainly not as many as McCain's.

        OBAMA SAYS: Dont tell me words dont matter!


        OBAMA WORDS: Iran, Cuba, Venezuela -- these countries are TINY compared to the Soviet Union. They DONT pose a serious threat to us!


        TWO Days later . . .


        OBAMA WORDS: Iran is a GREAT threat! Iran is a GREAT threat (REALLY)! Iran is a GREAT threat (I AM NOT KIDDING HERE)!


        WHAT does Obama really believe?? What are we supposed to think if he tells us words DO matter and he flip flops on such a major belief issue??.

    Barack Obama is a very intelligent person who gets it. He will make us all proud he will bring our dignity back home and he will strengthen our standing in the world as we once were. Land of the free and home of the brave.

    Obama symbolizes hope and positive outcomes, not just for America but for the global citizens who aspire to the above state. It's a win-win for everyone. Very nice comments - I agree with you wholeheartedly!!

    In recent times I must confessed this is about the best article I have read about Sen. Obama and his foreign policy articulations. I must give exceptional kudos to Zakaria for his objectivity, sincerity and realistic perspective of what this dynamic, humane and energetic senator from Illinois is trying to do for the entire world.

    What a pleasure reading through ever line of this article and considering the fact that most of the statements contained therein are absolutely correct and manifest the necessity of visualizing and orchestrating a kind of new world order that Obama is proposing even makes the reading more exciting and meaningful.

    This is a remarkable write up and must be commended, since the write in this case Zakaria clearly and conspicuously understand the task before the entire humanity and not just the American people. By and large the world is in dire need of an American leader that will bring sanity, peace, togetherness, neighborliness, broadmindedness and tolerance to a polarize world.

    My summation is that President Bush has failed the world and Sen. McCain is tolling in an exact fashion, assimilating and propagating all that the incumbent stands for, while at the same time enjoying the benefit of being close to him, s manifested by the undue ???fairy tale??? favoritism and nepotism by the syndicated media.

    A word is enough for the wise.
    It is such a pleasure reading from you, Zakaria and thank you so much for your foresight and insightful representation of the reality of our time.
