John McCain needs a lot more that what Mark Slater can dream up. No matter what he can NOT change the fact that McCain is an old headed war monger, who is forgetful to the point of embarrassment. Once the debates start, America will see a pathetic old fool who really needs to retire from Politics. McCain's idea's are stale, and only the not too bright NASCAR crowd will support him, along with the angry old white people.

When people attack McCain because he, like all of us, does not remember everything are being somewhat hypocritical. Obama has had so many gaffes and flip flops it makes me wonder if he has the mental acumen to really be President. Sure, Obama is good at prepared speeches with a teleprompter. But when it comes to being spontaneous, Obama stutters and stammers like a nervous school kid. As far as the NASCAR crowd, most of them are more intelligent than Obama's stuffy and impractical wine and cheese snobs. This kind of snobby comment a true reflection of the Obama campaign.

      widollar -

You claim that John McCain ???is an old headed war monger, who is forgetful to the point of embarrassment.???
What leads you to believe that he is a war monger?

He has valiantly served in the US Navy, and even endured 6 years as a prisoner of war.
And further to his credit, he even dumbfounded his captors and tormenters by refusing to be released early, thereby frustrating their propaganda efforts.

You may be too young to realize that a person who has endured the brutality of war rarely is willing to discuss what he or she has endured at the hands of the enemy. And they do regret that they have HAD TO participate in a war, either on an enlisted or a conscripted basis. But they do value freedom and liberty, and they are even willing to fight again for it, if necessary.

Meanwhile, sometimes even their sons and daughters, who have not had to put their own life ???on the line,??? delight in mocking their courage, even to the point of calling them a war monger.

And yes, John McCain has probably forgotten more than you have even learned. And he deserves our respect.

It appears as though Barack Obama is the one who is trying to be a war monger.
Sure he wants the US army to surrender to the terrorists by withdrawing its troops from Iraq. But he has stated that, if he should ever manage to steal the election (my qualification), he would direct the US forces to invade a sovereign country, Pakistan, in order to apprehend Osama bin Laden, only then to have him tried before a civil court, with the possibility that he might be released. This neophyte doesn???t even realize that could plunge the whole middle east into insurrection and mass genocide. Now, there???s your war monger!

Once the debate begins, it will be Barack Obama, without the use of a teleprompter and his cast of 300 foreign policy advisers, who will be exposed as a pathetic fool.

Why do you feel compelled to try to demonize the NASCAR crowd and what you regard as ???angry old white people????

Hey, Obama has tried to portray himself as the great unifier.
What a false claim - no, in reality, he is just a paltry 2-bit morally bankrupt divider!

looks like no one read the article or cares about McCain

It wasn't worth the read but I agree people should read it. It is not that no one cares about McCain its that he just offers so much more of the same, why bother.

may we all be spared more of the same

Not up to the task of research? I just love the people who come to the party late, don't know what they are talking about, twist everything and then expect everyone to do the home work for them. Good luck with that

Turn your uniformed mind into ongoing mental PAIN with your vote for McCain

Oh and Davole one hint there is an entire web site totally devoted to Bush Jr AKA "The Smirking Chimp"
Nice try with that dance but it isn't working the "Twist" hasn't been popular for over 4 decades. But you keep going at it I am sure you will find some other right wingers to convince of your fallacy. LMFAO

      Driver of wagons -

Don???t get too close to the horse???s rear end - even though that does tend to be your prime source for material to post.

You???re circling the wagons already - that???s a sure sign of an inferiority and persecution complex!

As to your biased reference to ???Bush Jr??? - neither of the 2 US presidents with the last name Bush have either a Sr. or Jr. designation - research the names of the US Presidents, if that task is not beyond your capability.

You inaccurately assume that I will vote for John McCain.
As a Canadian, I am not privileged with that option.
But I do appreciate and support the Republican platform.

I do realize that you would prefer to get your???take??? on the news from a website such as the one to which you refer, but I do not credit it with offering any valid creditable facts or opinions.

How about the Cartoon networks - are they also some of your esteemed sources for informed opinion?

You state that the ???Twist hasn't been popular for over 4 decades.??? Right on!
Neither has socialism, which was tried and debunked in the 50's & 60's.
But Barack Obama sure seems determined to base his campaign on those failed policies.
And it wouldn???t surprise me if Obama decided to reintroduce the ???twist??? as the democrat party???s official sports activity. He???s well on the way to doing that already by his numerous flip-flops.

Instead of trying to grandstand by posting your reply as a COMMENT, you might more humbly decide to post it by using the REPLY button. Comprende?

And in conclusion, in regards to your use of the initialization ???LMFAO??? - if you were to diet, and exercise, it might not be as FAT as it is now!
But I have to admit - it sure does suite you by "rounding out" your opinions!.

      • Posted By: Driver of wagons @ 07/21/2008 10:17:38 AM

You could take that on the road because your nonsense might do good on the Burlesque circuit. Oh, thats right that circuit died a long time ago just like your ideas.

I like posting Replies as comments because sometimes it gets people who don't know how to hold their emotions in check, get all full of themselves. Jr is something I could care less if "Dumbya" was named or not. it just puts him a that light which he most assuredly deserves.. As far as the "Smrking Chimp" reference thats all it was.I don't frequent that web site although I have been there and it has been mentioned in numerous blogs for years.

Your just a name on a page and really of no consequence what so ever, just and opinion just like everyone else who comes here. But unlike most who come here you really need to get over yourself.

        canadian? really?

OBAMA 8 Min VIDEO: Montage of Contradictory Statements on IRAQ

    Subliminal Messaging, or Over-Active Imaginations?
    July 18, 2008 5:54 PM
    By Rick Klein

    EXCERPT:

There is a longtime tradition in political advertising to look beyond the message to the subtext -- and even to the subliminal.

In that spirit, a veteran Democratic operative offers an interesting observation of the newly released anti-Obama Web video produced by the McCain campaign. The VIDEO is an EIGHT-MINUTE montage of sometimes CONTRADICTORY statements about the Iraq war made by Sen. Barack Obama. (Continued in full article link below).

Warning: Make sure you are sitting down before you watch this video. . .you may become dizzy.

Where have you been all of my life - OK, for the last week, to be specific?

I had a few (let???s call them) minor altercations with a few overly zealous bloggers on the old 15 point poll site, but that has been ???cleaned up???.

Although I???m still a relatively newcomer to this Newsweek site, I did manage to track you down to your post on this topic.

That 8 minute video is sure a ???keeper.???

I would suspect that there is a perfectly logical explanation (excuse) for those Barack Obama???s apparent flip-flops regarding Iraq.

His vast consortium of speech writers may alternate in supplying his talking points, or else they may be so elitist individually that they don???t bother conversing with one another.

And then there???s also the probability that the Republican vast Right Wing Smear Machine has deciphered the software which feeds Obama???s Teleprompter, and has reprogrammed it to make Obama merely appear to be inconsistent in his pronouncements.

Hopefully you???ll keep your word about reviewing and responding to my replies to your posts.

          Hi Beautiful -

How's the night owl(ette) - up and "at it"?

All quiet here on the Northern Front!

I had a few minor skirmishes with a few bloggers earlier yesterday.

I think that a summer school day tripper's bus dropped a few kids off at a local library to enable them to do some research and gain some knowledge regarding the US political scene. But, kids being kids, it appears as though they preferred to hit the internet to blog their similar somewhat naive opinions to a broad audience.

We conversed a bit, and then I guess they had to get back on the bus to depart.

Outside of that - not much else to report.

I'll check this site later this morning and then tonight to see whether you have posted any of your usual interesting informative blogs.

Thanks for responding to my replies.

          Ciao for now!

The Deceitful Negligent Committee (DNC) should not have messed around with the democratic process and shove Obama down our throats by fixing the outcome to turn out the way it did. It will be a pity if a white female or black male Democrat is not the next President, but we can all thank the DNC and the Mainstream Media (MSM) for their bias towards Obama ensuring that (come H*ll or high water), this man was going to be the democratic nominee to run against McCain.

Given that, Hillary supporters will not let the DNC shove their type of anti-McCain thinking (e.g. their push about McBush and old man) down our throats either as we consider whether to support John McCain (should Hillary not be on the ballot, which PUMA and hundreds of other organizations are pushing to make happen and it is starting to look like that might actually happen).

Hey, I sure like your explanation of the initialization ???DNC??? - very insightful!
Maybe you could manage to get that renaming officially sanctioned and changed at the democrat convention - I wouldn???t underestimate your compelling powers of persuasion.

Do you have an update regarding the number of supporters who have signed the Pledge of Togetherness, and endorsed any PUMA policy statements?

You???re definitely a credit to, and a leader for your organization!

p.s. I have to admit - sometimes you can be somewhat intimidating.
Just to ensure that I get on and remain on your ???good side??? - which is it?
Ah, I should have known - it would definitely be your Right side.

      Business Woman -

      Welcome to this political website!

Yes, I guess that it does take a business professional, whether woman or man, to realize your stated insight.

And likewise, that insight seems to be either ignored or unrealized by a heavy majority of the population who are content to reside on Barack Obama's democrat plantation in response to the promised hand-out droppings from the idolized messiah.

      Pathetic, isn't it?

If Jesus Christ could raise Lazarus from the dead, maybe we can resurrect the brain-dead Obamabots.

With less than 4 months until the election, Obama will try in ONE week to gain foreign policy/national security experience and to try to show some semblance of being a commander. Frightening. Equally troublesome, we are told Obama has 300 foreign policy advisers. Since no two of these advisers can agree on anything, Obama naturally flip flops. Pray for America.

Lets see bush says no to a time table to with draw our boys from Iraq but he's now for a "general time horizon" and OLD flip floper McSame is for a "general time line for leaving Iraq sounds like a time table to me but I forgot republicans don't flip flop the just re name it,now lets see Iran " we will NEVER negotiate with terrorist...hum seems the state department (on bush's orders) is sending mr. burns for direct meetings with Iran's nuclear negotiators ...but i'm sure bush and Mcbush will not call it flip flopping...they will come up with a new word for it...probably "new Iran approach" that sounds better than flip flop...Obama would send 2 brigades to Afghanistan now McSame would like to send 3...boy every thing Obama says needs to be done...the republicans are jumping throufg there ass to do....Who doesnt have the experence to be president...looks like bush and McSame to me

    • Posted By: sharenews @ 07/20/2008 4:39:37 PM

Yep, real smart of Obama to let all terrorists know the details of our plan now, before the election, so that when/if Obama gets in the White House these Al quida (sp?) nuts will already be redeployed and positioned pounce on us. Real smart I tell ya.

    • Posted By: Davole @ 07/20/2008 3:33:05 PM

      sparky 716 -

Definitely stay away from those intoxicating fumes, or else wear a certified welder???s mask!

It may ???come as a surprise to you???, but there is no candidate named either McSame or Mcbush on the presidential ballot. Gee, you???re spoiling your ballot even before the election is held.
You are of legal voting age, are you?

Yes, your fine President, George W. Bush, is consistent in his determination to delay any troop withdrawal until the security of Iraq is achieved and assured. That???s not really too difficult for you to understand, is it? And the surge is definitely working - even Obama acknowledges this every other day, as he continuously refines (flip-flops) his opinion almost on a daily basis.

Also, the US is not negotiating with any terrorist - it is merely conversing with a few Iranian officials. If you can find a dictionary, research the meaning of the 2 words - negotiate and converse. Notice - they do have different meanings.

Lastly , you must have been skipping way to many classes - I could understand why your parents, who probably pay for your supposed education, would consider themselves to be ???short-changed??? in the process. They appear to be entitled to a refund.

That observation and opinion derive from your quote - ???the republicans are jumping throufg there ass to do....Who doesnt have the experence to be president.
In case you can???t recognize the errors - throufg is not a word, there should be spelled their, doesnt should be spelled doesn???t, and experence should be spelled experience.
So, in one botched sentence, you have made 4 spelling errors - that indicates a lack of attention to detail, and thereby probably explains why your opinions are ???so far off-base???.

Am I correct to recognize and identify them as the species Obamabot mullets?
I???m somewhat guarded in making that assessment, since they definitely do appear to flounder.
Maybe they???re a crossbreed or hybrid version.

That species is of limited worth, for it doesn???t provide much of an actual sporting challenge - heck, it even falls victim to an unbaited hook.

The only thing older than John McCain are his ideas, depending in which of the 20+ you want to count that he has changed his position on. He is a hypocrite who will do anything to get elected. I feel so sorry for our children. McBush will not get elected, if he does, it may be time to look at Canada or elsewhere as an option to live. I am ashamed of the neonut government and what it has done to our country.

    • Posted By: Davole @ 07/20/2008 3:36:50 PM

      Liberal Lion -

Have you used the correct spelling for your screen name? Should it have been instead ???Liberal Lying????

No, I don???t agree with your empirical statement that ???the only thing older than John McCain are his ideas.???
I realize that you are probably still in elementary school, but have you ever heard of a document called the Constitution? That would definitely be older that McCain!

And it definitely is a benefit for anyone to adopt any and all sane ideas which would be older than the person adopting them.

You introduce an interesting assertion - that John McCain has changed his position on more than 20 ideas. Would you care to substantiate your opinion by listing those over 20 instances?
And how many of those changes display an improved viewpoint?

Then when you accuse him of being ???a hypocrite who will do anything to get elected,??? somehow you neglect to target Barack Obama with that criticism.
Have you noticed that John McCain began his campaign by staking a centrist platform, and that he may have fluctuated very slightly to the right and to the left, whereas Barack Obama began his campaign aiming to the far radical left (almost off the chart), and that he has recently attempted to do ??? an about face??? by shifting to the right of center?

As I have informed today another blogger, sparky 716, that no candidate named McBush is included on the presidential ballot, that might also ???come as a surprise??? to you.

I marvel at your thought process as evidenced by your statement ???McBush will not get elected, if he does, it may be time to look at Canada or elsewhere as an option to live???.
First you state that he will not get elected, then you immediately state that the opposite is possible, maybe even probable. I do realize that you are quite a novice when it ???comes to??? logic and politics.

Lastly, in reference to your belief that it may be time to emigrate - forget Canada as a destination, focus instead on Mexico, Cuba, or Venezuela!

  • Posted By: Jim MO and PA @ 07/20/2008 12:29:24 PM

Excellent suggestion - I heartily agree.

Also, while you???re ???at it???, you might care to contrast McCain???s advisors with those terrorist, financial criminals, and racist preachers who have served as advisors to Obama.

Please do your homework, ???brush up on??? some English grammar (hint - ??? ...would of causes some voters pause???, and then post your results in an unbiased format.

p.s. - Are you, sparky 716, & Liberal Lion all members of the same class?
      Is this a class project?
If so, your collective posts do seem to be bereft of any real class!

I s "McCain't and isn't able to Govern"sending Subliminal Messaging to women telling them you are totally screwed if i get elected? Is Salter writing his jokes also?

Senator McJackie the McJokeman, will prove to be even less serious and dignified in the role of Smirker-in-Chiefthen then what we have on the table right now. If that were even possible.

Last week, in response to a serious question about Iran, the Republican presumptive nominee joked about killing Iranians with weaponized cancer. This week, it's news about a joke involving gorillas and rape.

"Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die? When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, 'Where is that marvelous ape?"

In days past, it's been jokes about wife-beating, bombing Iran, Chelsea Clinton's looks, and Alzheimer's Disease. Based on these precedents, I can only imagine Senator McCain's forthcoming zingers about still-births, burn victims and Thalidomide.

Get a clue McCain Women don't like to be beaten and raped and also don't like to made jokes of on the subject

Wow Ho all of you people who are thinking about voting for "McCain't and isn't able to Govern"

So you want another Smirking Chimp for your next president?

Extend your non-funny PAIN with your vote for McCain
