    When an American citizen refuses to answer a congressional subpoena, it is not theater to haul his ass back into the country, bound and shackled, to explain why he did so.

    This is an affront to the constitutional authority granted to Congress. Whether or not Mr. Rove's claim of executive privilege is warranted is the courts' decision.

    Mr. Rove may be right that the hearings would be a circus. Too bad that's not a legitimate reason to skip them . After all, the next time it may be David Axelrod giving a Republican-led congress the middle finger.

    Congress ought to gather up the balls God gave them, and declare him a fugitive from justice until he sets foot in the Capitol building.

    After seeing with our own eyes what the Republicans have done to this country, IF people still vote for Republicans, their heads should be examined.

    Bush = Republican.

    Cheney = Republican.

    Rove = Republican.

    McCain = Republican.

    The Party that destroyed our country, destroyed humanity, and destroyed this earth = Republican.

    Karl Rove has committed treason. He should be arrested, tried, and excuted according to the law. Rove, Bush and Cheney think they are above the law. If this country has any law and justice, these are the first three people that really should face justice. Their crimes: Destruction of the country and destruction of the humanity.

    It's not just Rove, or Abramoff or whoever. Our whole Republican Party is infected with corruption. Look at this latest scandal:

    Did McCain's Chief Foreign Policy Advisor sell us out? Seems like he was in the middle of the money for absolution scandal that the UK Times Online discovered.

    "In a further link, Randy Scheunemann, chief foreign policy and national security adviser to John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, was listed in the WSE brochure as part of its executive team. Scheunemann and Associates, his lobbying firm, is reported as having represented the Caspian Alliance in 2005.

    At the undercover meeting last week, Payne said Scheunemann had been ???working with me on my payroll for five of the last eight years???. When confronted over the link to KMG, Payne declined to comment."

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/...

    What a surprise, it looks like one of the guys behind one of the worst foreign policies in our history is a sellout. If this guy goes down with Phil Gramm and all the other McCain lobbyist advisors who are dropping like flies, who will be left? McCain himself? They guy who doesn't understand the difference between Sunni and Shia? He'll really steer us right in Iraq. This is looking really really bad for McCain.

    This Congess has been dragging people in for hearings and erroded it's CREDIBILITY with approval falling into single digits.
    Now this pathetic Congress has to make it's move! Rove is betting a Congress this out of touch is too inept to do any harm to him personally, professionally or politicly.
    Most of this Congress is worried about one thing, now! How to stop the de-Kennedy-izing of America and keeping the AMERICANS SUCK FIRST banner high!
    Nothing is more important to the Democrats in the congress. Rove is not! Creating conditions for an Obama victory is not!
    But the DNC could dispose of their ugly banner, improve their approval with the American public and thereby create conditions for an Obama victory!
    Will they do that?
    Nah! They'll clutch their Americans Suck first banner like a wino clutches a bottle.
    They aren't as concerned about Rove as they pretend to be. This is politics.Rove apparently sees a DNC in CHAOS! His conduct spells it out like a neon sign.

    Uh oh! The Dems are "furious." Better just get it all out in the only tool you have not given up, the Strongly Worded Letter.

    • Posted By: firstborn57 @ 07/20/2008 7:37:54 PM

      i don't thonk it's only the dems that are troubled by Roves' behavior. He's defying a court order and for most people that just simply is not allowed. He should have at least showed up for the supoena and claimed executive power, but to act like a jerk and take off for Russia on a business excursion is to say the least....tacky!

    • Posted By: mrzoid @ 07/20/2008 2:42:51 PM

      Perhaps its a good thing the democrats dont believe in unconditional detainment huh?

  • Posted By: Bob Wilkinson @ 07/20/2008 7:32:54 PM

    Uh Oh--sullydog has spoken and like his counter parts he has very little to say that makes a defense thats even alittle close to the mark. Making silly remarks seems to be their only defense.

  • Posted By: firstborn57 @ 07/20/2008 7:29:30 PM

    Rove is as guilty has any other white collar criminal and should be rounded and hauled off to jail immediately...do not pass go...do directly to jail.

  • Posted By: Bob Wilkinson @ 07/20/2008 7:22:34 PM

    Rove is definetly guilty and if he's guilty so is Bush and Cheney. That's a given. The reality is none will see time in jail nor even be fined . They'll be inconveinced. For our law makers to to be effective we'll have to overhall our Department of jJstice. For that to happen we cannot allow the Repuplicans to be impowered until they get the message we cannot and will not tolorate the misbehaviorwe've lived with for 8 years.

    Karl has hand his hand in so many illegal activities, he belongs in Guantanamo. Let's waterboard hi, see how he likes it!
    I know Don Siegelman would like to be the first one to torture him, but I'm sure he'd have enough honor to use his bare hands.

  • Posted By: hk106 @ 07/20/2008 6:41:12 PM

    Well now that the House Judiciary committee knows where he is and when he will return and to what airport, the House seargent at arms can be waiting for him.
    Let the circus he predicated come to fruition.

    Let's see some action Congressmen Conyers.

    Bush's buddy, "turd blossom", needs to be held in contempt. Personally, I think a little jail time for Rove could only help to reestablish the rule of law back in the good old USA

  • Posted By: techresmgt @ 07/20/2008 2:52:27 PM

    How is it that an American citizen that is allegedly a high profile personality, ignore and snub his nose at a court order? Our judicial system is broken, weak, and ineffectual; for the average citizen. They should throw this bum in the hoosegow, quick, fast, and in a hurry. Most Americans would applaud this move. This guy really steams my clams.

    Karl Rove's head is an upside-down ballsack.

    Karl Rove is a criminal. He, and others in this Administration have no respect for the Constitution, the offices they have been priveledged to serve in or the rule of law. The Justice Department has been their personal office of cousel. Sadly, the Congress has no moral fiber and as a result, our country no longer does either. There are so few honest men in Washington, they stand out like heros instead of being the norm.

    Rove is a criminal. The disrespect that he, and others in this Administration have shown for the Constitution, the Congress and the Rule of Law is only surpassed by the compliant Congress and co-opted Justice Department that are just as culpable.

    Karl Rove and George Bush. Sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. The pendulum is swinging and it is natural to want to move with it. Let's steady it. Let's learn from this. After all, it is the system that we have in place that allowed these two and others to flourish. Let's avoid the knee jerk reactions and mob mentality and allow time to heal. There is a nonviolent process that needs to take place, it will be slow but steady. Let's use this difficult time to teach our children about being an informed citizen and democracy.
