Since the entire idea of gays being a threat ot morale has been shown to be gabage years ago, it is time that the US join the ranks of civilized nations and let gays and lesbians serve openly like the Canadians, British, and Israelis (to name just three top flight militaries) have for years.

If our military is not able to train its soldiers to act like intelligent adults, and toss out follish prejudices, then we have far greater problems then "morale".

I am fairly sure that men and women who serve so bravely and honorably in our Army, Navy, Marine Corp, and Air Force are intelligent and skilled enough to not fall for the "detriment to troop morale" garbage. They already know of gays and lesbians who have served and died fighting next to them and know that those soldiers are just as skiled and honorable as the straight ones.

Thank you! Finally someone with some sense.

This polciy has been used as an excuse for way too long. Perhaps there is some other reason the lawmakers and those in the top ranks of the military support the policy.

Could we have closets full of men and women who hide behind this policy? Would NOT be the first time, especially in politics. Closet doors are getting blown off the hinges daily, and usually it is the person hiding that triggers the exploson.

It's the 21st century people. Wake the hell up!

"Don't Ask, Don't Tell" should have been abolished long ago. Those in the White House, in the military, etc. have used this as a National Security excuse for way too long. It is nothing more than a tool that the military uses to discriminate. Nothing more, nothing less.

I have both a niece and nephew in the Marines and have spoken with them and many, MANY of those they serve with regarding this issues and overwhelmingly the majority thinks it should be lifted. The one thing I hear over and over again is that they don't care if the person watching their back is gay, straight, bi-sexual as long as they can shoot straight.

END "DON'T ASK, DON'T TELL" today!

Gasoline prices are at an all time high and we are continuing to focus on the gay lifestyle? Are they mad or just completely incompetent?
