Another very very bias article on Obama. We are at the point in America that almost all the media is controlled by the radical left wing and is this any different than communist controlling what their people read and hear now and in the past. No, not much difference. I really would like the American public to have the news as I read and saw in the past. You of the media are not doing your job, news unbias, just the news, the hard news. Where have the great reporters of the past gone, why has not the young reporter of today studied their style and gone on to be great reporters as we once had. Damn you for creating such crap for news.

Now that is just not fair, they are discussing the fact that McCain is blaming Obama for the hight Price of Gas. Now don't you think that is important LOL!

      • Posted By: jimbo3800 @ 07/21/2008 6:16:58 PM

Obama has opposed nearly every initiative to explore and drill for more oil here. So he absolutely deserves the blame; he is part of the problem.

        • Posted By: sjpersonal @ 07/22/2008 11:00:13 AM

OK, I am also against off shore drilling, but please answer me this, just how in the world is Obama the cause of the high gas prices today. Did he somehow go back in time and do something, this accusation makes absolutely no sense.

Maybe we're being a little to hard on the mouth-breaters. After all they've nowhere else to comment. They can't go to Fox. As soon as things get tough over there Fox shuts down the blog. Fox news you listen, we'll decide.

THIS IS HILARIOUS - "CHANGE" HAS ALREADY STARTED

Before Obama's run . . . Bush/McSame said any timetable was off the table. Now that Obama has pushed for timetables, every Democrat & Republican including Bush is talking timetables.

Before Obama . . .Bush/McSame said troop withdrawals was the same as "cut and run". Now with Obama the Iraqis, Americans, and politicians alike are saying its time to come home. All except McSame.

Before Obama . . . Bush/McSame said it was appeasement to have any form of dialogue with Iran. Now after Obama insisted he would talk with Iran under the right conditions, suddenly Bush & Rice are in back-channel communications with Iran.

Before Obama . . . The Religious Right claimed it not possible to be a Democrat or Independent and still be a Christian. With Obama, a Democrat may outwardly where his/her Christian views and not be attacked by the hypocritical Religious Right.

Before Obama . . . Democratic nominees took taxpayer funded campaign welfare. Now Democrats turn down campaign welfare.

Before Obama . . . The world hated us and wished us ill-will. Now with Senator Obama in striking distance of the Presidency, the U.S is being cheered as admiration for America vaults skyward.

Before Obama . . . Lobbyist ran rampant & reckless over middle-class interest. With Obama in striking distance, lobbyists are running desperate and scared.

    Before Obama . . etc. . . etc. . . etc.

    GOD Bless America!
    GOD Bless Obama!

Most of McCain's Inuries were Prior to the "Hanoi Hilton" Something that John McCain's own words cannot help him ....EVADE

    John McCain's Collaborations:

During his 23rd mission over Vietnam on Oct. 26, 1967, Lt. Commander John McCain was shot down by a surface-to-air missile.

To relate the event, McCain later recalled that he was "flying right over the heart of Hanoi in a dive at about 4,500 feet, when a Russian missile the size of a telephone pole came up--the sky was full of them--and blew the right wing off my Skyhawk dive bomber. It went into an inverted, almost straight-down spin. -U.S. News and World Report, May 14, 1973 article written by former POW John McCain

"I pulled the ejection handle, and was knocked unconscious by the force of the ejection--the air speed was about 500 knots. I didn't realize it at the moment, but I had broken my right leg around the knee, my right arm in three places and my left arm. I regained consciousness just before I landed by parachute in a lake right in the center of Hanoi, one they called the Western Lake. My helmet and my oxygen mask had been blown off. "I hit the water and sank to the bottom . . . I did not feel any pain at the time, and I was able to rise to the surface. I took a breath of air and started sinking again." -U.S. News and World Report, May 14, 1973 article written by former POW John McCain

After bobbing up and down, he was eventually pulled from the water by Vietnamese who had swam out to get him.

A mob gathered on shore and McCain was bayoneted in the foot and his shoulder was smashed with a rifle butt. He was put on a truck and taken to Hanoi's main prison.

After being periodically slapped around for "three or four days" by his captors who wanted military information from him, McCain called for an officer on his fourth day of captivity. He told the officer, "O.K., I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital." -U.S. News and World Report, May 14, 1973 article written by former POW John McCain

McCain was taken to Gai Lam military hospital normally unavailable to American POWS. (U.S. government documents)

"Demands for military information were accompanied by threats to terminate my medical treatment if I [McCain] did not cooperate. Eventually, I gave them my ship's name and squadron number, and confirmed that my target had been the power plant." Page 193-194, Faith of My Fathers by John McCain.

  • Posted By: Omaar @ 07/22/2008 12:25:53 AM

John McCain seriously violated the Military Code of Conduct by trading "military information" and making numerous public statements that appeared favorable to the communist war effort in exchange for "special treatment."

The Code: Consisting of six articles in simple language, the United States Military Code of Conduct orders American military personnel to resist capture at all cost and if captured; to attempt to escape, to give the enemy no information other than name, rank, serial number and date of birth, to take charge if senior, to obey orders of the seniors, to accept no favors from the enemy and to make no written or oral statements disloyal to the United States.

In the original writing, the Code was declared the definitive code specifying the responsibilities of American military personnel while in combat or captivity.

The Code holds U.S. prisoners of war responsible to protect--at whatever cost--the cause for which the United States stands by continuing to carry on some form of resistance with the enemy. The establishment of the Code of Conduct was the result of what was considered in 1955 an embarrassing high number of U.S. servicemen held prisoner during the Korean War who apparently did little to resist collaborating with the enemy.

And even Maureen Dowd appears to have bought into the McCainites' Euro-phobia, suggesting Obama "can't be seen as too insidery with the Euro-crats" lest Obama-wary Americans "wonder what he's doing there, when they can't pay for gas, when the dollar is the Euro's chew toy, when Bud is going Belgian and when the Chrysler Building has Arab landlords." And don't forget all those German cars on our roads. Which we can't afford to drive because gas is too expensive (for which, according to McCain, we can blame Obama).

Of course, at no point does the McCain campaign or anyone in the media point out what, exactly, is the danger to America if our closest allies actually, you know, don't hate us.

They also fail to mention that along with being our allies, the European countries Obama is visiting are also democracies -- so it's a lot easier for their leaders to make nice with us if their constituents don't view our president as an object of disdain and ridicule.

And, as Jason Linkins points out, George Bush keeps giving them reasons for ongoing disdain and ridicule. As does McCain. Is it really better for America's standing in the world to have a president who doesn't know that Czechoslovakia no longer exists and who thinks there is a border between Iraq and Pakistan?

Iraq has shown us what an essentially go-it-alone war looks like.

And the resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan -- resulting in more U.S. troop fatalities there in May and June than in Iraq -- is a tragic reminder of the consequences of a U.S. military spread too thin, and of not having our allies fully backing our efforts.

Given a recent poll showing the German public prefers Obama to McCain 67 percent to 6 percent, it's no surprise that McCain would try to spin his opponent's popularity there as a black mark on his record. It's also no surprise that McCain isn't willing to admit that our allies' antipathy toward Bush and his policies -- exacerbated by the contempt the Bushies always seemed to delight in directing at them (see Rummy on "Old Europe") -- has cost us dearly in blood, treasure, and goodwill. But it is a surprise that the media are so eagerly parroting the "popular is a problem" meme.

Thankfully, most Americans understand that having a president who is lauded around the world is infinitely better than having one who is loathed.

WHY IRAN IS A GREAT THREAT:

It is Irans APOCALYPTIC world view that distinguishes their likelihood to use a nuclear bomb than other governments (US, Israel, etc.) with nuclear weapons capability. See article excerpt below I obtained from a couple sections on this site:
    http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/Threats_to_Israel/Iran.html#threats

    THREATS AGAINST ISRAEL AND AMERICA

The only way to confront the Zionist enemy is the continuation and fortification of resistance and Jihad, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was quoted as saying September 3, 2005, in a meeting with the militant group Islamic Jihad's secretary general Ramazan Abdullah (AFP, September 3, 2005).

In October 2005, recently elected PRESIDENT MAHMOUD AHMADINEJAD QUOTED AYATOLLAH KHOMEINI AND DECLARED: AS THE IMAM SAID, ISRAEL MUST BE WIPED OFF THE MAP.

The president added: And God willing, with the force of God behind it, we shall soon experience a world without the United States and Zionism (AP, October 26, 2005).

President Bush said February 16, 2005 Iran has made it clear that they do not like Israel, to put it bluntly. And the Israelis are concerned about whether or not Iran develops a nuclear weapon, as are we, as should everybody. Clearly, if I was the leader of Israel, and I listened to some of the statements by the Iranian ayatollahs that regarded my security of my country, I would be concerned about Iran having a nuclear weapon, as well. And in that Israel is our ally, and in that we have made a very strong commitment to support Israel, we will support Israel if their security is threatened.

Irans non-conventional weapons are not a threat only toward Israel, they also pose a danger to the United States and its interests around the world. And the American people recognize this danger. According to a January 2006 Gallup poll, 19% of Americans see Iran as an immediate threat to the United States and another 65% said Iran is a long-term threat.

On June 15, 2006, Irans defense minister, Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, signed an agreement with his Syrian counterpart, Hassan Turkmani, for military cooperation against what they called the ???COMMON THREATS??? presented by Israel and the United States. Our cooperation is based on a strategic pact and unity against common threats, said Turkmani. We can have a common front against Israels threats.

    WOULD IRAN USE THE BOMB?

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes the most important task of the Iranian Revolution was to prepare the way for the return of the Twelfth Imam, who disappeared in 874, bringing an end to Muhammad???s lineage. This imam, the Mahdi or DIVINELY GUIDED ONE, Shiites believe, will return in an APOCALYPTIC BATTLE in which the forces of righteousness will DEFEAT THE FORCES OF EVIL and bring about a new era in which Islam ultimately becomes the dominant religion throughout the world. The Shiites have been waiting patiently for the Twelfth Imam for more than a 1,000 years, but Ahmadinejad believes he can now HASTEN THE RETURN THROUGH A NUCLEAR WAR. Ayatollah Hussein Nuri Hamdani explicitly said in 2005 that THE JEWS should be fought against and forced to surrender to prepare the way for the coming of the Hidden Imam.

It is this APOCALYPTIC world view, Middle East scholar Bernard Lewis notes, that distinguishes Iran from other governments with nuclear capability.

Homosexuals should not be aloud to spend time with children and corrupt there minds. Homosexuality is just as wrong as Murder they are both depraved sick crimes against what is natural.
Both these crimes fly in the face of what is normal decient human behavior.
Anyone that supports homosexual activity is a contributor to it.
    Homosexuality is wrong.
Its is not diversity it is perverisity
They should be given the mental help they need.
It is not about left or right wing politics its about right and wrong.
Homosexuality is wrong and always will be just because you say its not does not mean its true.

Boy. You Republicans are haters in the worst way. Why do you hate Obama so?
This guy tries to be on the up and up, but you still tear him down. Not one skeleton in his
closet, but you hate, hate, hate!

Come on now, Obama is not the reason America is knee deep in sh@t today.
He is not the reason Americans are losing their homes.
He is not the reason Americans are losing their jobs.
He is not the reason gas is at $5 a gallon.
He is not the reason over 4000 of our children have been killed in Iraq.
He is not the reason damn near every child has been left behind.
He is not the reason for your shortcomings.

I can???t believe as bad as Bush ran this country you would rather have an antiquated
Warmongering a**hole in the white house. Come on now. America is not only in a bad economic situation, but our integrity is in question.

Why is it that Bush, and McCain want to stay in Iraq, and had no exit strategy, but along comes Barack Obama, and the Iraq government agrees with Obamat hat 16 months is a good timetable to start with.
Because Halliburton hasn???t made enough money yet, that???s why!!!
Did it ever cross your mind that other peoples across the globe want leaders they can debate? Leaders they can sit down with and work out different strategies for different problems. Leaders that will discuss first without threats.

You must remember only a few weeks ago Barack Obama was naïve because he supports getting our troops out of Iraq. And those Americans that would sit and talk to our enemies are appeasers.
What happened Republicans? It seems now its okay to be naïve, and appeasers. All at the same time.

I don???t care how stupid you are, you have to be able to see that leaders around the world are eager to deal with Barack Obama. The regular everyday folks around the world also see a chance for America to be the champion of causes the way we once were. To regain the respect we once had of policing those who would do harm to our allies and their neighbors.

But you people are too busy trying to convince yourselves that Barack Obama is a Muslim.
Barack Obama was a student in a school for Jihad.
Now these two are really stupid of you all. After all of the bulls*!t surrounding Rev. Wright, you still want to say Barack Obama is Muslim. Duh!!!!!!! You can???t have it both ways.

Come on. What is it? Is it because he???s Black? Or is it because you feel threatened by the fact that not only is he a Black man; he???s a very intelligent Black man? Smooth, Cool, and that frightens you!

I???ve even heard that when Barack Obama gets elected we???ll all have as much chicken and watermelon we can eat.
    Now boy that???s intelligent.

Either you want to succeed, or you want to fail. Another Republican in office is failure.
You can???t be that afraid of Change for the good. Or can you?????????????????????????

    Peace. Daddy!

    • Posted By: Debunked! @ 07/21/2008 4:47:43 PM

You are correct, Obama isn't the reason for anything because he haven't done anything except give speeches!

Also, had Bush listened to Obama and got out of Iraq, we would not see the progress that we are seeing now! It is only because of the surge that we can talk about timetable or time horizon! Also, Obama himself have flip flopped on the war and he wasn't in the senate when the vote was taken so we don't know how he would have voted and it has been quoted that Obama himself said the same thing!

Give Bush some credit for something! And Bush DID NOT jack this country up by himself. Republicans AND Democrats helped! What have the Dems done since they have been in control?? How about CONGRESS WORK TOGETHER TO FIX THE PROBLEMS!

You talk about change---------please give details as to what kind of change Obama has brought to the US senate and State Senate?

What is the change can we believe in? Where is the DEFINITIVE record to back up the change?

Again, people are SICK of the race card! AGAIN, THOSE WHO OPPOSE HIM DO SO BECAUSE WE BELIEVE HE IS NOT QUALIFIED, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS RACE!!!

      • Posted By: ApostasyUSA @ 07/21/2008 5:00:37 PM

Had Bush listened to Obama, 4100 Americans and countless innocent Iraqi civilians wouldn't have died in Iraq in an unjust war.

Please you Republican toe tapping tools.....go away.

        • Posted By: RetiredMarine @ 07/21/2008 8:07:58 PM

Maybe not, but how many thousands more would have died in our own lands after more terrorist attacks? Give Bush a little credit. After responding (something his predesessor failed to do) we haven't had an attack here at home.

Use your stupid statistics all you want because they are meaningless. How many people died in unjust traffic accidents in the US during the same time we have been in a war? Are automobiles your next target?

      • Posted By: Kboogie @ 07/21/2008 5:39:50 PM

How has Obama flip-flopped on the war? His stance hasn't changed. He wants to immediately begin to withdraw forces. He's NEVER swayed from that position.

      1) Bought Homes they could not afford.
      2) People loose jobs everyday, markets change
      3) The last time I looked the Pres. does not set the gas prices.
      4) Men have died in wars forever. Wasn't aware that we were sending children to fight!
      5) Have you not heard, Test scores are up!
      6) Your sucess is up to you not what the federal goverment does for you.

You can try, but I refuse to let you or people like you drag me down. While you are crying hard times I am trying to figure out how to do even better. You can bet I won't be counting on anyone but myself to get it done either. Anyone betting on Obama to make their life better is in deep trouble. The Pres. no matter who he is cannot do it for you.

The reason the news media has not taken a 3 point improvement in Obamas approval in polls and doubled it into a"6 POINT JUMP!" due to his little trip outside CONUS is because... there's no jump. The news is as silent on poll info now as the liberal press would be if his approval were dipping slightly... right now.
And it's for this likleyhood that the networks sent news anchors (who are bitter and cling to their hatred for Conservitive Americans) to provide an emergency boost or acceptable "backdrop" for this sad character.
I'm glad he did get one experiment in bravery in meeting personally with military professionals! Face to face with the people the DNCs' campaign of Americans Suck First target for ridicule daily.
Things are not going well for the Obama campaign. His global diplomacy skills are being taxed to the limit, and not expanded. He's ducking the news media! Friends of his!

This world trip that Obama is on is doing him so good. Everything that Obama said is happening. He will become our next President.

  • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/21/2008 6:37:37 PM

This is Bush policy: As US President, he helps his friends the Saudis and the oil business execs make MAXIMUM profits. He also likes to help his Daddy's friends at UTC and other big military contractors (Oh, and Don't forget KBR, Cheney's old company)... get ahead and line their pockets with war profits.

Don't kid yourselves - the Bushes and their ilk don't give sh-- about Government; they're ALL ABOUT PROFIT and see the White House as the penultimate road to maximize wealth. It's not about "we the People" or anything - it's "We are PROFIT" - totally self-serving, hypocritical cynics.

And McCain is right along with 'em - coz he has to be - the GOP way is never to criticize the incumbent President - now ain't that sweet?

  • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/21/2008 6:22:53 PM

Is there any doubt in anybody's mind here in the US that Obama will be a great commander-in-chief, considering the two GOP morons (Bush, McBush) are now singing the same tune - and Al-Maliki is proposing the same thing too?

McSame calls it like Bush sees it; Obama calls it like the rest of the thinking, intelligent world would - and it's common sense, nothing more. Duh.

  • Posted By: Marquette70 @ 07/21/2008 6:13:51 PM

It is hard for people running for President to say the same thing without saying the same thing. For example, the goal in Iraq has always been, get in, have the Iraq govement train troops and police, sort out the oil for the Iraq people, pass a few laws, have a small US force in the mideast and bring the troops home. Obama calls that a time table, John calls it let the events on the ground determine the pull out. Same, Same. Neither will leave if the events on the ground are not good. Both will bring troops home if events on the ground is good. Iraq, to there credit, is using our election to get the best deal from us and our press will make a big deal out of nothing to keep the 24 hour monster going. So, lets say the the date of the pull out will be May 21 2010 and we will leave 50-60,000 troops, unless events on the ground is not good. Then we will stay. Next subject.

To WiilNotVoteObama - who is paying for the Iraqi war? $1 billion a day war? A war that we never should have entered? The American taxpayer, that's who! And taking away our rights?!? If you're talking about what's breaking our backs, look no further than your own "conservative" lawmakers and president. You guys are a joke. You lash out against liberals because you know everything you accuse them of are things your chosen leaders are guilty of...well go lick their balls, pack up and leave this continent. Because people like you have spent too much of my money and taken away too many of my civil liberties and rights. This is no longer the America it should be because of your greedy @$$ es. FU CK IN conservatives! You don't even deserve that label. Just a bunch of money grubbin' @$$ holes who feed on fear and bigotry while stuffin' your pockets with taxpayer's cash. That we'll be paying for the next 10 generations, IF this country's financial system doesn't completely collapse. GO TO H3LL.
