There are no easy questions during Obama's road trip

    Comment: Ok dudes and dudettes... Pakistan and Afghanistan are the "re-newed" fronts on the war on terror. The war on Saddam Hussein has been over since he was executed by a war monger. The civil war between the tribes after that should have been quelled by the Iragi Government. Sure you can argue that, "dude, there was no Iraqi government," which would be the big picture, there already was an Iraqi government even though we didn't like that Iraqi government which did not have WMD's nor links to Al Quaida.

    Barack Obama supported the war on terror, he didn't support the war on Saddam Hussein. He saw that it was a mistake to turn our attention away from Afghanistan and Pakistan. McCain was all for going into Iraq. McCain could have cared less about what would happen to Pakistan and Afghanistan since he was busy laying around in hospitals and his sick bed at the time.

    McCain is too frail, can't think on his feet (when we get attacked again on his watch), cannot connect with World Leaders, cannot manage the militaries, Is ready to plunder the land with drilling (destabilizing wildlife even more than it is today), he continues to draw Social Security even though he is ready to axe it along with our benefits, he is quick to judge his fellow countrymen that oppose him and so on and so forth.

    McCain would best be suited to remain in Congress which he is even jeopardizing re-election once he loses this election. So ask yourself GOPers, ex-Hillary supporters (which if you aren't backing Obama, then you turn your back on Hillary who supports him) and anyone else not up to date on the current GLOBAL situations, who do you reakky think is best suited for the leader of the free world?

      Comment: Cloudsmoke, you lie. Obama wasn't in congress and didn't support or vote against anything. He won't take a stand on controversial topics, except when he needs to pay back one of his financial supporters, the way he did with his recent FISA vote. Why do you think he had so many "present" votes. He flip flopped on Rev. Wright, and called his own grandmother racist, a lie to placate the whites who were outraged at his allegiance to Rev. wright. He switched from pro-Palestinian to pro-Israeli when he decided to run for national office. He changed his mind and decided that faith based initiatives (which have a history of supporting racially segregated education) are a good thing.

      Obama is not suited to a leadership role. Rev. Wright had it right, Obama will say and do what ever he thinks he needs to say and do to get elected and stay in power. With the economy in turmoil, that isn't the kind of president we need now. We need one who will stand up and say "NO" to frivolous earmarks and pork barrel spending, the way McCain has done.

        Comment: Where did I say I lied? Obama was voted into Congress in 2004 so yeah that does make him a Congressman. He didn't and still doesn't support the war. I don't support the war and the Americans that vote him into office in November will say, "we didn't support the war." So get over yourself and give up on trying to call people out, you don't know squat. Flip flop is a GOP invented phrase, so use it on your own candidate. I see you still on that same old Rev. Wright material... it's outdated my friend. If that's all you have, then you have no argument.

        McCain on the other hand, doesn't have a platform for the ecnomy other than standing in front of a restaurant or in front of cereal looking like someone applying for the store manger position. Obama has presented his Social Security, Economic, Energy, Foreign Policy, Global Poverty and even addressed Black America platforms. What has McCain presented, not a thang... not a thang. =)

        McCain will not make ground because he is too busy whining about Obama this, Obama that. He doesn't know where he is half the time, much less he can't even read a map to know what country is what and which Continent is where. He can't remember how he voted on issues when asked so he obviously didn't think to hard about whether to say yea or nay because he was following suit to the Republican votes. This election is too big for you. Stay on the porch.

          Comment: Cloudosmoke. I think that you missed Pearson's point. He probably meant that Obama was not a Congressman when the whole thing was voted on in 2003. That was ONE year before Obama was elected.

          As far as McCain not thinking on his feet, your pal Obama isn't good at it either. When Terry Moran peppered Obama with questions about the surge, all Obama did was stutter and stammer around. He gave a very incoherent answer. Yeah when Obama has his prepared speech of CHANGE, HOPE, YES WE CAN he does alright. But in answering pointed questions he doesn't strike me as being the fastest thinker.

          As far as policies for Obama: no energy policy, economics (raise taxes), foreign policy (appease terrorists and dictators). It sounds like you better stick to watching Bill and Ted's Big Adventure (DUDES and DUDETTES). This election is definitely too big for you.

    And today, the word of the day in the corporate press is... "presumptuous." Used in a sentence: Senator Obama is being presumptuous during his trip -- acting all presidential and dignified. How dare he be presidential while running for, you know, president. Presumptuous. During the live CNN web feed of the Berlin address, an anchor used it to describe the event. Joe Klein used it in a blog post today. Of course Joe attributed it to racist voters rather than very serious reporters -- racist because it's presumably a synonym for 'uppity' and we can't accuse the press of such awfulness. And Candy Crowley used it in her post-address analysis on CNN. That's a lot of coincidences. "Presumptuous" must really be a popular word. Odd that it's being used so often by people who want Senator Obama to win.

    AP: "In a speech that risked being seen as presumptuous..."

    TIME Magazine: "capable to become the Commander in Chief of a superpower -- without seeming presumptuous..."

    The National Journal: "He is well aware voters here at home might see that as presumptuous..."

    Washington Post: "Whether by the end of this week he will be seen as presumptuous or overly cocky..."

    Chicago Tribune: "That means walking the fine line between looking presidential and appearing arrogant and presumptuous..."

    Boston Globe: "plus the growing sense in some quarters that the presumptive Democratic nominee is getting a little presumptuous..."

    Can you feel the wanting-Obama-to-win love radiating off your computer screen? No?

    The reality is that positive coverage of any Democrat is limited and temporary for fear of networks and newspapers either being accused of liberal bias or being tossed out of the very serious barbeque loop. Regardless of whether the Democrat, in this case Senator Obama, is having a good day, it's somehow unethical to report on such good news for too long without deliberately concocting an antidote to appease the far-right. So rather than standing up as the only industry explicitly named in the Constitution and defending the very basic idea of journalistic integrity, the corporate media is all too quick to capitulate to these specious Republican attacks -- that is, when they're not tossing their ethics aside and taking bribes in the form of barbeque and McBusch beer from a candidate whom they're supposed to be covering objectively.

    What Obama may lack in "experience" he MORE than makes up for in "INTELLIGENCE" I hear nobody arguing his intalligence, especially not 894th out of 899 McCain.
    Obama also TRULY UNDERSTANDS diplomacy, not as McCain or Bush see it...that stupid step you have to pretend to go through before you bomb bomb somebody, but that diplomacy SAVES LIVES, American and foreign. Now I know that some of you blood thirsty chicken hawks think hey as long as more of them die than do Americans, we win, tell that to the nearly 4500 families that have lost their loved one in what John McCain described as a "WAR FOR OIL".
    Obama has ALWAYS maintained that the REALwar America should be engaged in is in Afghanistan, where those who attacked us make base. That war has been ignored by Bush and McCain for years, it was only a week ago that McCain first mentioned Afghanistan, pitty. I guess Bin Laden is NOT a priority for McCain or Bush for that matter.
    Obama has dignity, he has and still sticks to his character, where as McCain SWORE he wanted a "clean" campaign, at the first sign of his impending doom, he resorts to stopping just short of calling Obama a traitor...nice and clean, and how does Obama respond..."I feel sorry for John McCain". No mud, no name calling, as that is the McCian way of campaigning as is evident by his adds, his words, his actions, brought forth from his DESPERATION.

    Comment: Poor, poor Obama. Obama has to actually answer some real questions. Quite honestly, I have never seen Obama give a satisfactory answer to a question. What is Obama's energy policy? Granted he talks about looking at alternatives such as more green friendly solutions. That's fine, but we are several years away from this. In the short run, we probably are going to need to drill offshore and use nuclear power. Obama opposes both. I realize that we need to get to wind power, hydrogen cars, etc. but we are not there yet. So what does Obama want us to do? Walk to work or ride horse. (Sorry about the horse suggestion, PETA will not like this). In the cities they could use public transportation but everybody does not have this. Obama makes all of these idealistic speeches that mesmmorize his followers, but that still does not give us any tangible answers. I am sure that Harley will give us usual stale talking points and end it with "drillin and killin 08." Incidentally, Harley that is so brilliant. But whoever becomes President has to be able to deal with tough questions and pie-in-the-sky speeches don't cut it.

Problem with your thought process is, it doesn't stop a possibe problem in the future because nobody knows who was right and wrong due to your lack of follow through. In my household we listen to both sides of the arguement from the begining and side with the child who we feel is right and point out why we feel this way. We make sure our children understand that all actions will have a reaction or consequence, whether positive or negative. And I do have a question for you. If you do not take a side, or a stand, as Obama has not. When do we get to know how he feels on these key issues since, you know, he will be the voice of America and all. Seems like it's not too much to ask a man where he stands without the, I've got to cater to everyone speech.

    I had lunch with the mayor's wife recently so I think that gives me complete understanding of how my city's government works.
    Meeting with Petraeus is a start but hardly make him an expert.

As much as Otaxma has smoked should be wondering about his health? Also, Otaxma is releasing green house gases whenever he blows out CO from his cigs as well as tar and nicotene.
