"Obama spoke about the competing demands on a commander-in-chief: whether it would be more pressing to send more troops to Afghanistan or spend more money at home."

That statement alone should tell anyone that it is not about the thoughts of the person but of what he represents as "a" commander-in-chief. Bush looks at himself as "the" commander and that his say so is the final word. I'm sure McCain will adopt the same policy.

Obama will make the better commander-in-chief as he is obviously vision focused on how to govern the country through due process and bringing back the checks and balance system. He knows what must be done to regain respect around the world as well as from the citizens of the United States. Obama will develop policy that confronts the ill mannered politics of old. New policy to address job losses, wage earnings, health issues and foreign exchange. I look forward to a new insight to D.C. I believe this is the government that was written into the Constitution.

oh yes, checks and balances, just like the congress applies to those earmarks that don't go through the system, the ones Obama has requested for his political cronies and financial supporters and even his wife, the ones that McCain has spent years bringing to taxpayer attention and working to end so that all appropriations would go through the system of checks and balances that characterize a truly transparent government.

I may have erred in referring to Holy Roller as "he", and if I was in error, I ask forgiveness from "her" if that is the case. No harm intended. I had presumed that if He were actually a She, that the feminine version, Holy Rollesse would have properly designated the blogger at issue.

Or maybe better, "Rollette", as in the French feminine diminutive form. Very respectable.

So is anyone surprised that he is in Jordan, what with his pro-Palestinian ties in Chicago?

If he really wants to address the threats to US's position in the world and our economic situation as it relates to the global economy, then he should be in China, not Europe and the Middle East. This is a road show that will change nothing about the military power of China, the impact of its economy on the US dollar and global trade, including the price of oil.
