    - Maliki whom Bush installed endorses Obama's plan for Iraq
    - Merkel another conservative and German chancellor endorses his world vision and listens to his demands for more partnership and more troops to Afganistan.
    - Sarkozy, france's conservative president and Bush friend endorses Obama's American-Europe vision (that could actually help us economically and militarily).

Isnt this guy a brilliant negotiator at least? Is anyone still thinking its a bad idea he at least try to talk down our enemies as REagan did in the 80s?

Meanwhile, five days after releasing a documentary criticizing Obama for flip-flopping on Iraq, the McCain campaign argues that Obama is too inflexible on Iraq.

quiet down, likeitis - we're trying to have a conversation here. do YOU have 5 good reasons why McCain would be good for regular Americans?

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 07/25/2008 2:28:19 PM

Seems to me LIKEITIS has been unbiased here lately and well, telling it like it is. Why are you so afraid of the truth?

Sportthing - stay focused. I mentioned NOTHING about race. 8 YEARS of the most disastrous presidency in U.S. history. D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R. Can our country survive 4 more years of the same with McCain? Give me 5 concrete reasons why McCain would be great for America. 5 reasons WITHOUT childish bashing of Obama.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 07/25/2008 2:00:34 PM

      Mary jane it,
Please consider an education. My name is clearly sportlock. You did mention race. And you propose that Bush was a disaster? Wanna know something that Bush and Obama have in common? NO EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!!! Well then again Bush was a GOVERNOR. Far more responsibility then a senator who votes present and I want a redo on my mis-vote. Anyway, so you propose that the next president should have no experience also and you expect different result? Lets see here Bush no experience Obama no experience= change? Very funny Mary, very funny

Hi Varacefan - thank you for at least thinking. Appreciate it. Here is the question. Who's side is Bush/McCain on? When this is what we know:

The families of the victims of 9/11 sued the terrorists. I asked my friend (who previously worked in the Treasury Dept. and then worked on the case on behalf of the families) how can you sue the terrorist? They followed the money. The money that funded the 9/11 terrorist attacks was linked to members of the Saudi Royal family. Who defended the the Saudis against the families of the victims of the 9/11 attacks?

The answer to this question will tell you on who's side these guys are on. James Baker (who got Bush into office and has endorsed McCain) and his law firm defended the Sausis against the families of the victims of 9/11.

Plain and simple - if for no other obvious reason. These guys do not care about you or me. They care about the money.

After 8 years of the most disastrous presidency in U.S. history with 4 more years of promising to stay the course - anything less than a landslide for Obama is a fixed election.

    • Posted By: varacefan @ 07/25/2008 1:12:51 PM

I will agree it has been a tough 8 years. The Clinton years were much better from a stand point of world peace and all around good times. However, we now know that it was not as peaceful as we once thought. Their were people plotting to kill us and change our way of life. On Sept. 11 2001 our lives were changed and our country was changed for ever. I remember watching those towers fall and thinking, life will never be the same. It has not been the same. Like Pres. Clinton, G. Bush has made some mistakes for sure. Some would say "but at least Clinton didn't get 4000 of our young men killed for nothing". That is a good point. However I believe Pres. Clinton's lack of action in the beginning did in fact play a part in getting those men killed. I don't think for a minute it was purposeful but it did set us on a colision course with the people who want us dead. Obama may very well win this election. If so then that's just the way it is. But to hear people like yourself blame everything bad on Bush and give him credit for nothing such as no more attacks on our country is just not being honest. Blaming Bush to some is like a sport. They never liked him and love to point out any possible mistake he has made. Thats okay with me but to hear some of the outlandish statements made about him just proves the hate these people have inside. I donot hate Sen. Obama, I don't even know him. If elected I hope he can take the heat of being second guessed and poked fun at like Pres. Bush & Pres. Clinton have been. Pres. Bush and Pres. Clinton have to be the two most second guessed and teased Pres. in history. I wonder if the same can happen to a Pres. Obama without the word racest being used in return. We May See!

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 07/25/2008 12:18:55 PM

I called it the other day! If Obama doesnt win, its because he stole the election and although McCain will get 1% of the black vote and Obama will get 46% of the white vote according to the recent polls. White people will be called racist. LMAO
1% of the black vote for the white guy
46% of the white vote to the black guy

      And WHITES are racist!!!!!!! LMAO

  • Posted By: laredotech1 @ 07/25/2008 1:12:38 PM

Bottom line likeitisnt, they are citizens and I will get them to vote to help get their parents to stay here where they belong. Criminals lol, really.

All of you obamamohammed groupies, make me sick, to my stomach. I'm fairly certain, many, if not most, are very patriotic American's. Your just naive and easily influenced. Many of you are kids, and don't know any better. Others are older, and just trendy. A few are just dumb. And some are caught up in a racial pride deal. While I don't care for any of these reasons, I think ya'll are pitiful, I at least ,can smile and shake my head, in amazment. It's the other substantial group that makes me sick.... that are just a bunch, of punks and sissies. Like Hussein, Pelosi, Reid, Dean, and Big Daddy Soros. Your Emporer and High Priest.

You know who you are. You think America is evil. You support our country's avowed enemies. You want to see the military diminished, if not completely eliminated. You think, America needs to be punished, That she's evil. You think a socialist, euro-trash, govt. nanny state, would save the nation. You want America, as we know her, destroyed..

Well it's not gonna happen. America was founded by GOD, and there is no power on earth, that can bring your fantasy to reality. I know. I know. Hussein is a Messiah. He can manifest his will. Yeah right. He is a two-bit charlatan. He is a Crook and a Fraud. His handlers, with help from the so-called MSM, have performed admirably well. BUT, the play time's about over. It's time to get serious.

Hussein is about to be revealed as the cheap copy of Jimmy Carter, that he is. A lot fewer morals, but a cheap copy, just the same. And the original JC, almost did destroy America. We learned our lesson, with Mr. Peanut. And he wasn't even a mohammed.

I hope ya'll ain't bet the farm, on this election. Cause if you did, you are about to be homeless.

The punk refused to visit the wounded. Hussein is a puke and a sissy. Probably afraid some of the wounded G.I.s, would kick his ass. He DID VOTE NOT TO FUND THEM. They know what he is.

He is a piece of crap.

    NOBAMA!!!

    • Posted By: fiber artist @ 07/25/2008 8:22:01 AM

And your buddy, McBush has voted repeatedly to not fund the Vets, just the War. He was against the latest GI Bill? How's that for supporting the troops? His reason - it would make it too enticing to leave after your tour was up, they are so desperate for bodies, they would rather entice them to stay with a $50K signing bonus than to offer them an education.

      • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 07/25/2008 12:51:55 PM

Why did Bush AND McCain say they were rejecting it? Do you know or are you talking out of your azz again? Please, please, do tell............ Ya dont want to do ya? They said it wasn't ENOUGH!!!!!! Man you libs are getting desperate

  • Posted By: amendment2man @ 07/25/2008 9:41:46 AM

wait until november. the press does alll it possibly can to build up this joke of a candidate.

The main point that keeps coming up about him from the beginning---EXPERIENCE. the next is vagueness as evidenced by the msn article regarding his euro trip. even euro leaders were struck by his lack of specifics and skirting the issues. Why? he really has NO STAND on issues and blows with the wind whether it comes for alqueda or some foreign rogue nation or wherever he visits he agrees with them without being principled.

he is a Media creation. not the right choice for President.

I dont know where you all get your figures as I live in Miami the most hispanic of all US cities. NOT ONE of my hispanic associates or any latino that I speak to wil vote for this hack. who do you all survey to get these results?

    • Posted By: josemarti @ 07/25/2008 11:31:56 AM

You must be Cuban. Everyone knows that Cubans, Argentinians, and Chileans are not really Hispanic.

      • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 07/25/2008 12:34:13 PM

Oh so the newsweek poll is mis-leading once again then? So he's going to pull the hispanic vote, just not the Cuban, Argentinian, and Chilian vote? You must be one of those racist, hypocritical, bigots that call everyone else a racist bigot then huh? But just so everyone knows, according to jose here. Newsweek is again telling partial truths in favor of the savior. According to Newsweaks BIASED inflated poll, Obama will get the hispanic vote. Just not the CUBAN, ARGENTINIAN, OR THE CHILEAN VOTE...

  • Posted By: jkyleh @ 07/25/2008 9:56:51 AM

miltongalfas - your comments about racist are absurd. What comes out of a man's mouth or woman's is what is on the inside.. Did you fall asleep in the 50"s and just wake up? When have you ever seen a candidate discuss American politics overseas. It does not happen and he's not in position to do so.

The gang "fist bump" - give me a break. I wonder if you thought the high five was some subversive move as well or a pat on the back is some child molestor code.. So what if there is a major white male backlash. The tide has already turned. Minorities and women have stood up and had enough already. You act as if we live in a utopian society engineered by white men. White men have run this country into the ground and if you wish to have more of the same than grandpa McCain is your man. I believe that this country and the world are tired of the American cowboy antics of the past. We are beyond that. Get on board this moving train of change or stay stuck mired in ignorance.

    • Posted By: amendment2man @ 07/25/2008 10:10:51 AM

it has nothing to do with race but rather the basic intelligence and realization of the voter base and their grasp of issues.

The obama campaign has been basically a shifting platform which really does blow with the wind
      AT start Now
      1. unconditional withdrawal from Iraq need to assess conditions and talk to commanders

      2. unconditional talks with hamas/iran etc. conditions abound ( as all the world knows)

      3. historically votes against the 2nd amend. supports(Panders) the 2nd??

not to mention the now buried but not forgotten rev. wright(wrong) debacle and the lies which accompanied that whole affair.

wake up and see the reality. this man is not qualified even if he was polka dotted.

oh, btw i am not white.

      • Posted By: Chris from Baltimore @ 07/25/2008 10:58:03 AM

Perhaps YOU should "wake up and see the reality", whether or not you "are not white."

The issues you raise have nothing to do with me paying my mortgage, putting food on my table, keeping my job, saving for my retirement, gaining on my investments, or affording food, fuel and healthcare.

"Reverend Wright?" Yeah, THAT issue really impacts MY life and the lives of my family...if you believe something as insignificant as THAT will influence my vote, as opposed to those things that actually touch my life (and the lives of my family), then you REALLY DO need to "wake up and see the reality."

        • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 07/25/2008 12:25:38 PM

Umm Racist wright is a drop in the bucket next to all Obamas flaws. Did you just wake up from a coma or something? Why cant you just admit your voting for him even if you found out he raped a 10 yr old because he's HALF a minority? Do you hate the white in Obama's eyes? Go ahead and say it, no reason to be scared. Your safe at home, it's ok.

This is the first time I will vote. I registered myself and others because I felt that the republican party is way out of touch with immigration. I have been trying very hard on my days off and going to latino communities and registering citizens. I have been telling them about how republicans are trying to deport them and their kids will end up homeless and by themselves. That really gets them interested. My family and I are really have been really motivated by the real interest in wanting to vote in this coming election. I notice that republicans use scare tactics to get people to vote. I also notice it works the other way around. I have been scaring these teenagers of voting age and their siblings about how they will be homeless and by themselves if a republican is elected and they don't go and vote and help get Obama elected.

  • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/25/2008 11:43:10 AM

The Europeans embraced our Black entertainers when we marginalized them. Josephine Baker is a case in point - she was adored by French fans in Paris, and rejected, reviled and belittled by mass audiences here. There are a great number of Black and Hispanic artists in this country who have suffered the same treatment.

Is that how you want our country to be perceived by the rest of the world? I guess those of you who spout racist sentiment probably don't give a rat's *** how the rest of the world sees America?

Well, guess what? Most of us are smarter, better educated and more broad minded that you. And Obama will win the election this Fall. Give the guy a chance - he's head and shoulders above our current leader.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 07/25/2008 12:09:15 PM

Well since you know Obama will win in November I guess there is no reason for you to beg for the hispanic vote huh? Wait a sec, I'm having deja vu, heard all this before. Oh yeah, GORE!!!!!! BTW, how did that work out anyway? LMAO

  • Posted By: adelina @ 07/25/2008 11:49:44 AM

It depends where this poll was taken. Maybe among very young hispanics. I am latin and a democrat and so are my friends and we for the lst time in decades are not voting democrat: lack of experience, had done nothing for our communities, don't know who he is and most of all, obama was only interested in the hispanic vote when he saw he was loosing to Hillary because of it. Before the primaries he did even mentioned he hispanics in USA, completely ignore us. For many years elected officials here in NY had travelled to Israel and established networks within the political establishment. Obama went to Israel with an entourage that looks good on tv but won't get him votes in the South Bronx or Washington Heights. He is not reaching out to the officials/party leaders in certain communities, specifically among hispanics. But what is he substantially offering the hispanic community for their votes? Obama seems to be suffering from the entitlement mentality and assumes every minority is voting for him? We have a surprise for you.

    • Posted By: SPORTLOCK09 @ 07/25/2008 12:06:39 PM

He is banking on the same thing as the black vote. Im a minority like you , vote for me. Dont believe me? Please refer to mariadcruze post above.

  • Posted By: adelina @ 07/25/2008 12:00:27 PM

Give me J. Jackson, Andrew Young, C. Powell even Sharpton, anytime. They have been there, we know what they stand for whether you like them or not. Obama is a puzzle and an arrogant opportunist. Smooth talk and says what everybody wants to hear. And the trip to Europe and the Middle East? it will not convince me of his lack of foreign relations experience.

  • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/25/2008 11:36:29 AM

Americans are notorious for racism, second only to South Africa at the peak of Apartheid.

Can we not set aside our differences and look at our candidates as both pretty awesome - regardless of party preference - and try to understand that the rest of the world is mostly not racially concerned as we are?

It's too bad that such an EXCELLENT candidate as Barack Obama must "suffer" on all these blogs at the hands of racist detractors, people who think he's "playing the race card" and people who just don't get the fact that we're trying to move beyond all this nasty prejudice.

I think many of the Latinos "get it" - they too have to suffer racism and prejudice all the time - our stupid cries against "immigration" and illegal immigrants - like they really take advantage of our "wonderful" so-called system that is terrible - we hardly get anything for our taxes here in this country. Food stamps? You're worried about someone getting food stamps? Would you rather have them starve? Give me a freakin' break.

Our educational system is falling far short of this country's ideals and goals - we should all be embracing our multi-lingual, immigrant-rooted, pluralistic society and just focusing on issues such as the economy, the war, the energy crisis, etc. Stop talking about racist this, racist that - it's just too old-school and stodgy.

Have none of you ever been in the minority, EVER, in your entire lives? I find that extremely hard to believe. How did it feel to be left out, discriminated against, discussed and dissected, criticized for no fault of your own? Grow up.

  • Posted By: fiber artist @ 07/25/2008 7:57:18 AM

Holy Roller; if you were better educated, you would have read the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. You would also know that most of the Founding Fathers were totally against a "State Religion" and indeed, it was Jefferson who urged a "wall between church and state". They were breaking free from a Church-run country - England. I not only have more years of public education than you I'm quite sure but I actually read, and I carry a copy of the above mentioned documents in my purse. I'm voting for Obama because he will take back the America I grew up with, the one with ideals and morals to not torture people and use the working people to make the rich get richer.

    • Posted By: lb078 @ 07/25/2008 8:11:06 AM

      i'm all for education and pride in our country, but you carry copies of the declaration and constitution in your purse? you must be the life of the party.;}

      • Posted By: fiber artist @ 07/25/2008 8:18:49 AM

It's a handy little book with not only those documents but also facts and writings of the founding fathers. Guess what - I'm an artist and very creative person, not some geek, but I like to be able to rebut the stupid and Wrong ideas people have about the founding of this country. All citizens ought to be required to read the true human history of this country, not the "god" version. These so-called christians are all about hate.

        • Posted By: lb078 @ 07/25/2008 8:28:44 AM

to say they're all about hate is maybe a tad overboard. they are pretty annoying though, i'll give you that.

          • Posted By: catspaw @ 07/25/2008 11:14:52 AM

Ibo78, HollyRoller is about hate, he loves to use the bible and anything else to put Obama and anyone of any other faith down. And he has no idea of what he is truly saying to others and what his words are to the Christ.

  • Posted By: jkyleh @ 07/25/2008 10:24:00 AM

It disturbs me about this race thing. The only color that has mattered in this country is "GREEN".. Understand this - Enron, WorldCom, etc were not run by minorities. The "white" men screwed everybody. It mattered not what color the employees were. You can stay mired in the race game or come together and start living with love and peace with our neighbors. We already know what does not work. Why not try something different. I don't recall seeing any of you political armchair quarterbacks or bashers throw your name in this race for the whitehouse. It's much easier to hide behind your keyboard and make stupid remarks.

You talk about experience,, well granpa McCain has been in office for over 30 years and now he decides that the world is out of whack and he had absolutely nothing to do with it.

This government has committed crimes against another country and for what? Follow the money. The surge worked he consistently proclaims. Did Colen Powell not suggest going in with the correct amount? Did Obama say the war was wrong? So we would not need a surge had we not gone. A strong man knows how to control himself. It is not a weakness to show constraint and understanding. This country and the world follows a religion with Jesus as its head. Did demonstrate power through force?

Whether we have the absolute best candidates running for president pales in comparison to our individual personal responsibility to help and love our fellow man. We have to pick one of these characters and accept who wins.

As I write this bombs are blowing up and killing people. When we will learn to stop the petty bs

    • Posted By: collymore @ 07/25/2008 10:57:05 AM

i could,nt agree more with some of your comments. truth and love are two powerful attributes, think about genocide throughout the world.think about the families in iraq that are displaced etc think about all this talk about race . love knows no colour and it has no bounderies. people need to stop being so narrow minded. this earth is a planet with humans living on it surface, many different colours, sizes, cultures. this is not only about america, this is global. is america going to create another planet ? i believe in freedom, patriotism and so on,but if you are not your brothers keeper what can you say to me?
