John McCain doesn???t know Shiites and Sunnis are Bitter enemy since Saddam days, Also this spring, McCain twice appeared to mistake again twice between Sunnis and Shiites, two branches of Islam that split violently

John McCain doesn???t know where is Pakistan? , McCain responded I'm afraid it's a very hard struggle, particularly given the situation on the Iraq/Pakistan border. The ABC posting added: Iraq and Pakistan do not share a border.

Somalia for Sudan: As recounted in a reporters pool report from McCain Straight Talk Express bus on June 30, the senator said while discussing Darfur, a region of Sudan: How can we bring pressure on the government of Somalia?
Senior adviser Mark Salter corrected him Sudan

Germany for Russia memorializes McCain referring to President Vladimir Putin of Russia following a trip to Germany as President Putin of Germany by the way Germany Never have a President only Chancellor.

This spring, McCain said troops in Iraq were down to pre-surge levels when in fact there were 20,000 more troops than when the surge policy began.

In perhaps the most curious incident, McCain said earlier this month that as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, he had tried to confuse his captors by giving the names of Pittsburgh Steelers starting players when asked to identify his squadron mates. McCain has told the story many times over the years but always correctly referred to the names he gave as members of the Green Bay Packers

In Phoenix earlier this month, McCain referred to Czechoslovakia, which has been divided since Jan. 1, 1993, into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He also referred again to Czechoslovakia during a debate in November and a radio show in April.

""WAKAKAKAKA "" This Guy deserves to Be the President of United Fools ..........I laugh my Ass off.

Here is a great article from Germany....it show's not every German drinks Kool-Aide.............

Once again it's Der Spiegel that manages to put Obama's Berlin speech in perspective..............

The [estimated] 200,000 onlookers who thronged to listen to Obama's speech should not deceive us. Listening is not the same as agreeing. Obama divides people, and not along traditional party lines.
It is, anyway, a great mistake to divide the voters in Western nations into left and right, aggressive and peace-loving, market orientated and critical of capitalism. In reality there are just two types of voters: the romantic democrats and the common-sense democrats.

So far, Obama has been the candidate for the romantics. His skill lies in enchanting his supporters with words. Whatever is held against him, his supporters turn into his favor. The man is an unknown quantity, no mud sticks to him! The man is measured, no, he is visionary! He wants to save the entire world, but it does desperately need to be saved, doesn't it?

It would have been interesting to find out how the reconciliation between Muslims and Christians will come about, when shortly before his departure he threatened the Islamic Republic of Pakistan with a military strike against its border region with Afghanistan. Pakistanis value their sovereignty as much as Americans.
Is it not foolhardy to set a timeframe for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq at 16 months, when American generals fear another civil war? In Vietnam, they point out, the killing did not end after the US withdrew its troops.

And then there is the breathtaking list of domestic policy promises: affordable health insurance for the 47 million currently unregistered Americans, tax exemptions for all retirees on pensions under $50,000, higher minimum wages, multi-billion dollar infrastructure projects and finally tax credits for most Americans to boost the economy. How can that be paid for, if, as Obama has categorically ruled out, he isn't going to raise taxes on the middle class? Or is he planning for the US to go even more into debt (something he has equally vehemently ruled out)?

Of course, Obama may have no option now than to continue to offer the sky. At first many election strategists thought voters wouldn't believe politicians, promises anymore after their experience with Bush. Surprisingly, the opposite seems to be the case: Right now they'll believe everything.

    NOBAMA!!!

Barack Obama's rising stature as a world leader with potential to bring about 'changes the world can believe in' is an unprecedented phenomenon seen after many long years of contemporary world history. He symbolizes Dreams, Hopes, and Inspirations! In simple words: He is simply Great!

And today, the word of the day in the corporate press is... "presumptuous." Used in a sentence: Senator Obama is being presumptuous during his trip -- acting all presidential and dignified. How dare he be presidential while running for, you know, president. Presumptuous. During the live CNN web feed of the Berlin address, an anchor used it to describe the event. Joe Klein used it in a blog post today. Of course Joe attributed it to racist voters rather than very serious reporters -- racist because it's presumably a synonym for 'uppity' and we can't accuse the press of such awfulness. And Candy Crowley used it in her post-address analysis on CNN. That's a lot of coincidences. "Presumptuous" must really be a popular word. Odd that it's being used so often by people who want Senator Obama to win.

AP: "In a speech that risked being seen as presumptuous..."

TIME Magazine: "capable to become the Commander in Chief of a superpower -- without seeming presumptuous..."

The National Journal: "He is well aware voters here at home might see that as presumptuous..."

Washington Post: "Whether by the end of this week he will be seen as presumptuous or overly cocky..."

Chicago Tribune: "That means walking the fine line between looking presidential and appearing arrogant and presumptuous..."

Boston Globe: "plus the growing sense in some quarters that the presumptive Democratic nominee is getting a little presumptuous..."

Can you feel the wanting-Obama-to-win love radiating off your computer screen? No?

The reality is that positive coverage of any Democrat is limited and temporary for fear of networks and newspapers either being accused of liberal bias or being tossed out of the very serious barbeque loop. Regardless of whether the Democrat, in this case Senator Obama, is having a good day, it's somehow unethical to report on such good news for too long without deliberately concocting an antidote to appease the far-right. So rather than standing up as the only industry explicitly named in the Constitution and defending the very basic idea of journalistic integrity, the corporate media is all too quick to capitulate to these specious Republican attacks -- that is, when they're not tossing their ethics aside and taking bribes in the form of barbeque and McBusch beer from a candidate whom they're supposed to be covering objectively.

It was telling that Mr. Schoendorff said, "In France, they'll give you the diploma, not necessarily the job that goes with it." I think that that sounds like the textbook Obama supporter; one who expects the government to give him everything he needs. If you like high taxes, high unemployment and big government like the French then you love Obama.

Ok, first, the statistics in this country in regards to degree/employment correlation is very clear: most people end up in an industry outside of their field of collegiate study. Second, the French unemployment rate sits approx. 2% higher than the USA's. Third, the higher tax rate in France is directly tied to the higher amount of social services provided by the national government.
I know its a popular tag line to imply that European countries are oh so bad, but try to at least take the actual statistics into account.

A weak U.S. is to the benefit of many other countries including Germany, France, Russia, China, Iran, Hamas, -------- Do Americans have the guts to elect a president who is favored by our enemies and/or hostile foreigners?

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/25/2008 8:17:01 PM

My gosh, who are you calling "hostile foreigners" - the entire world? That is truly sad. America has TONS of support, sympathy and admiration around the world. Especially when we nominate a really cool and smart, savvy leader (who happens to be in a Minority) to be our Democratic leader.

That is very admirable, and I hope we can elect him this Fall - it will break all precedent and go a long way toward erasing our hideous past of racial violence, segregation, discrimination, ignorant prejudice...

We have been ranked second only to South Africa, at the peak of Apartheid, in terms of our level of prejudice and discrimination. Are you proud of that?

      • Posted By: tedstevens @ 07/25/2008 8:56:10 PM

There is nothing cool about Obama. He is a slimy politician just like McCain. Pick the less slimy of the two.

Your comment on Apartheid is appalling, you obviously have no grasp of what you are talking about. .... give me a break.Second only to South Africa

Your brother may be your best friend most of the time; however, he may appear as your worst enemy when it comes to competition for vital resources. America is now competing with many other countries for food and energy. We are programmed to be enemies, not because we want to wrestle them down, and vice versa. Be careful to what others really want to do to us under their smiling masks.

Imagine that, an American politician who is liked and admired outside the U.S. Sorry McBush, go buy some cheese.

    • Posted By: tedstevens @ 07/25/2008 8:49:49 PM

Yep, I also imagine that the socialist NOBoma is pretty well liked by the Europeans.

Keep the change... I'll go with the Annapolis graduate, ex-POW, Vietnam vet over Newbie McFeelgood anyday.

The definitive Obama puff-piece. Thanks, but after 6 Obama Newsweek covers I think we all know who the media is carrying water for.

ARE REPUBLICANS REALLY DETERMINED TO WIN THIS ELECTION?

    http://pacificgatepost.blogspot.com/2008/07/john-mccains-peculiar-path-along.html

    ??? perhaps not.

    • Posted By: notroubleatall1963 @ 07/25/2008 8:23:01 PM

Yeah, maybe McCain is getting tired - it must be gruelling to be on the campaign trail at any age. I cannot imagine why he wants to be President after Bush's camp already "dissed" him in 2000. That must have been so humilitating, and someone in your own PARTY (GOP) who proclaims to be pro-military... so McCain is not only "second choice" of the GOP, he's obviously "second choice" of many Americans in the General Election...

I admire him for his gumption, and for his heroism. I do, however, feel a teeny bit sorry for him - he may well be better off retiring soon. Let's see who he picks for VP.
