Wow, another groundbreaking sofball interview with McCain; I have never heard a serious interview yet. I believe that the Media refuses to challenge McCain on anything and we get nothing but interviews just like this. Is this your attempt to "inform" voters?

You are right- but we also know McCain's rep for something else-eviserating the journalist who has the temerity to ask the same question more than once. UTube has the videos showing McCain's hideous temperament. He has also tried the reverse scenio for Palin-everyone is picking on her and any journalist asking legitimate questions (unscripted ones) is engaging in attack journalism. Well, John, we also know you well enough to see you want elected-at any cost- to the American people. One more thing, if you love our Veterans, your voting record doesn't show it. Your excuse of "pork attached to that bill" is crap. What bill(s) have you written for them? You lie about everything, that's what we know for sure.

..............................McCain has this Military Pedigree that he feels that Militarism is why he is here on Earth. His family has been deeply involved with the military, McCain went to the Naval Academy where he was indoctrinated in Militarism.....What do you expect from McCain except Military Bluster?? John used his POW Hero Status to help him in the business world then the "Military Man" image got him elected as a Congressman then Senator. McCain is driven to gain Power and use Military Power soon.......he is not going to wait 2 or 3 years before he starts bullying other Countries around and probably keeping us involved in combat for his whole 4 year term if he lives that long.

Why is Mc Cain so angry? Why is it all he talks about are veterans and war? Does Mc Cain want to be President of the United States or just Commander in Chief? Will he push the button if he get's angry enough? Will we survive another fours years of madness?

Is it just me or what? I didn't really read anything about offshore drilling, or women's votes. In fact, I didn't really read anything that answered anything. Gezz, take straight and answer the questions. I'm not stupid!!!

  • Posted By: halpertbarry2860 @ 09/28/2008 3:31:23 PM

Anyone that votes for John McCain is, in my opinion, a complete idiot. John McCain will just continur the bad polocies of Gerore W. "the king" Bush.

Was it me? Or did he remind anyone else of the crabby old man who lives in your neighborhood who screams at the little kids when they walk across his lawn? He came across as cantankerous, contemptuous, and just plain mean-spirited. His body language spoke volumes.

  • Posted By: Miss_Lola @ 09/28/2008 11:25:24 AM

yeah, the American people know you, and will send you back to Arizona...or one of your other forgettable homes come Nov. 4th.

After watching the debate last night I have come to realize that McCain's gaffes are more than that. How can a potential president of the US offer a lesson to the other candidate during a debate on National TV, claiming that in 1999 pakistan was a failed state?

That is not a gaffe. That is even worse than a mis-statement. That is just plain wrong.

It shows me that it is McCain and not Obama that does not understand.

John McCain, yes we do know you. From the time you were a pow, brave and true, and a songbird for your fellow captives, you have bragged about it. Yes. we know you. We understand you were a prisoner of war. We understand how bad you had it. Now we ask you to be forth right in your answers. In the interview, "The American People Know Me" you did not answer one question asked, but you were able to beat around the BUSH to avoid any out-right answering the questions. We The People want streight answers.
I understand you are very good at running from responsibility for your actions. I also know you were born rich and will always have financial support. Please, give me one example of how you supported yourself as a regular citizen, with a regular job, so I can know you understand what our citizens are going through. Why do I ask this? Because, my husband got his Purple Heart in Veitnam and came home and married me 36 years ago. I had 5 childran, had been deserted at 29 by my first husband of 11 years. I had cancer at the time and my ex-Mother-in- law and my husband took care of my children and I until my recoverery. We then got married.
You on the other hand ran from Carol, an invilid, and found a way out of such responsibility. You have rattled the war drums against Russia in the last few weeks. Every other word is POW, while my husband doesn't want to talk about his time on the front lines, nor watch movies about it, because it is behind him. He has made a sweet life for my children and I. His favorite gig is playing Santa for the Atistic Foundation.
McCain, enjoy your money, and bought friends of big business, the Presidents, CEO, that will turn their back on you as soon as you are out of politics. I know because as a child, very wealth, I bought friends too.

Democratic disdain for energy production by US companies is evident with the current ownership of former US energy companies. Is it any surprise that the jewell Arco Oil Company which owned 80 percent of our Alaska Oil Reserves was bought out by British Petroleum Corporation at the end of the Bill Clinton???s second administration due to the hostile Democratic attitude toward energy companies. It is no accident that the largest US builder of nuclear power plants, Westinghouse???s Nuclear Power Construction Division was bought out by Japan???s Toshiba Corporation. While 80 percent of France???s electricity is generated by nuclear power, only twenty percent in the US is generated due to the successful efforts of Democratic party to kill the US nuclear power industry. Significantly, nuclear power is not considered a mainstay of Democratic plans to address our energy crisis. There is also a worldwide shortage and backlog of orders for oil drilling platforms and oil drilling ships but US shipyards are not building these ships. Only one percent of the world's commercial ships are built in US shipyards. Hold your breath for the Democratic outcry and push for government help to US ship builders to build oil drilling ships in the US.

Give the land to every American and they can expeditiously see to the leasing of the land. Mercedes Benz limousine liberals and wacko environmentalists can finally keep their mouths shut and instead use their own fat checkbooks to buy up acreage and prevent development if they choose with the acreage they buy from ordinary Americans. Let Barack Obama and the Democrats tell the American people that they are better trustees of the offshore land with limited or no development and that each American is not entitled and should not profit from their 12.8 acres of offshore land.
Leasing and royalty payments are not insignifcant even for small acreage. An example is east of Fort Worth Texas where natural gas drilling companies are paying 25 percent royalties and $3000 leasing payments to owners of quarter acre homes for natural gas drilling rights under their homes

Under this proposal, every adult in the US would be entitled to 12.8 acres of mineral rights to offshore production. A lottery could be set up to randomly assign 12.8 acres to every American. You may end up with mineral rights to acreage south of Canada???s Hibernia offshore project 300 miles south of Newfoundland that is producing 50,000 barrels a day from only one well. The resulting lottery would create ten of thousands of instant American millionaires whose acreage abuts known contiguous offshore oil fields. A market to buy and sell acreage rights could be created which would put money into the pockets of those who acreage contains unknown oil potential. Turning over the acreage to ordinary Americans to collect leasing revenues and royalty rights will empower Americans and stimulate the economy. We do not need the Minerals Management Service of the Department of Interior and Nancy Pelosi to argue over the next four years which tracts of land should be leased and have that money end up going into the General Treasury. Its your money and you can get it now when you sell the rights to drill for oil and collect your royalties for the next twenty years.

The best way to effectively exploit our offshore resources and really help the average American is to divide up the 4.4 million square miles of US offshore economic zone among the 218 million Americans adults who are 18 years and older according to the 2003 US census. Because a square mile equals 640 acres and you multiply 4.4 million square miles times 640 acres, there would be 2.816 billion offshore acres to be divided among the 218 million American adults. The current federally leased acreage of roughly 100 million acres both onshore and offshore represents roughly only three and a half percent of the total 2.8 billion offshore exclusive economic zone acreage of land that could be leased and divided up by all Americans. Subtract out that acreage and you still have 2.7 billion unleased acreage. Granted this remaining acreage may not be the best prospects but we won???t know for sure until there is actual drilling. The Democrats say that there is 80 million acres leased and the oil companies are sitting on it. Well here are 2.7 billion new acres that new and older drilling companies can bid on.

Democrats under the leadership of Barack Obama want to effectively give away in trust our offshore exclusive economic zone by standing in the way of any current offshore development. Under the 1982 United Nations Law of the Seas Convention the US has an exclusive economic zone of 200 nautical miles and mineral seabed rights up to 350 nautical miles extending along the Continental shelf. A nautical mile is 6080 feet so our exclusive economic zone extends about 240 miles and mineral seabed rights extend 420 miles. The US has the world's largest offshore exclusive economic zone totaling 4.4 million square miles. In comparison, the total land area of the United States is only 3.4 million square miles.
On the East coast alone, if you drive from Key West Florida to Bangor Maine it is 2000 miles. Multiply the 2000 miles by mineral seabed rights extending out 420 miles results in a total of 840,000 square miles of ocean acreage. Because we have the world's largest offshore coastline which is twenty-five percent greater than our land area, it only makes common sense that we exploit our offshore resources to achieve our energy independence.

If John Mccain wrote his own speeches, he would be so far down in the polls he would have given up and left the race.

    1) Women have to have a right to choose to do abortion or not, to make a compain to convince them not to do it is another thing.
    2) Didn't he see CIR in the eyes of G. Bush Snr?
    3) Sorry, but 72 old with the mental trauma after captivity who doesn't care of the economy but really want to help his rep. friends to get more military contracts is a little bit too much.
    4) He says there is no ressecion? Ola-la I feel it every day on my pocket, the money I had after paying all the bills shrank in twice, and it with that I cut down on lots of things like, cheaper inet, cable, gas, food, going out, thanks God I have no kids!!! I would be broke!

McCain lacks depth on any issue.

  • Posted By: Anniep @ 07/30/2008 4:35:24 PM

I don't think the american people really know McCain at all, and I agree with Wesley Clark that, although I take nothing away from McCain's awful experience in Vietnam, it does not automatically qualify him to lead a country or an army.n I think he is a war monger, who will set the world back centuries if he gets into power, to say nothing of his lack of interest in the economics of real life. I wish people could tell the truth in this
campaign without everyone squealing like ...well, like politicians I suppose!

    • Posted By: TruthForward @ 08/02/2008 12:55:50 PM

Frankly, McCain can not fly the fighter planes of today: He is unfortunately an outdated man. When McCain was in his prime, he did not lead anything. And there has been no success in getting Republicans to believe in him.

McCain needs to give me some straight talk about why the Arizona border is essentialy OPEN to illegal immigrants and why he has done nothing to stop it....IN THIRTY YEARS. But he sure will spend trillions and kill thousands of our finest in the Iraq war...just to protect Israel's border. We all know that the Iraq war is to protect Israel. Iran is next because they threaten Israel....but he hasnt' even addressed Arizona's border problem...and I say this again....IN THIRTY YEARS!

    • Posted By: TruthForward @ 08/02/2008 12:50:30 PM

Right, McCain has been unsuccessful with domestic borders.
