Yes, McCain. That is exactly what we women want. More jobs for our husbands and sons so they can support us and we can stay in the kitchen like we should. Alright, so that's not really what he said, but he's pretty close. It's aggravating that whenever McCain is asked about women's issues, he says "he doesn't think about that very much" or reiterates issues we already know about. If you want to talk about the military in terms of women, McCain, let's talk about what you're going to do about the all-too-common sexual assaults of women soldiers.

I agree. McCain just do not have any depth on anything topic. Because he is not interested.

This would only help us in a one percent way: short term answer or minute answers from McCain. A better plan is to bring hope across the world (McCain could never accomplish that). Obama's travels seems to have brought the gas prices down. I don't see anything else working. But of course there has to be other plans to keep the prices going downward, and renewable energy is a good Long Term solution.

Renewable energy solutions are LONG TERM ANSWERS.

Does Newsweek think that it knows John McCain and therefore will accept nonsense answers? Question: "You've advocated for lifting a ban on offsore drilling. Why is drilling there preferable to drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge?" Answer: "Because the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge" In othere words, it is what it is and if John McCain says it, he doesn't have to explain his policy and it looks like Newseek is going to let him get away with it.

Restore Progress, Economic Stability and Diplomatic Ties: Elect Obama '08!

Restore progress (through empty slogans), economic stability (through more and more taxes), and diplomatic ties (caving into enemy dictators and putting the U.S. at greater risk of enemy attack and loss of life). Yes this is the Obama plan.

Or what about your ideas on helping women and their families pay for child care in the current economy? All I'm saying is that McCain is way out of touch with women voters and it doesn't seem like he really cares.

Yes, McCain. That is what we women really want. More jobs for our husbands and sons so they can support us and we can stay in the kitchen like we should. Alright, so that's not what he really says, but it's close. It's just so aggravating that McCain can't say anything productive about women's issues. It's either "I don't think about that very much" or reiterating issues we already know. Yes, women care about the economy and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but what about things that are more specific? If you really want to talk about the miliary in regards to women's issues, how about addressing the all-too-common sexual assault of women soldiers? Or in the economy, tell us how you're going to help women and their families pay for child care. I just think McCain is too out of touch with women voters and it seems like he doesn't really care.

When is a reported going to ask a real question to McCain and insist on a real answer, like they pounded the tar out of Obama on the Surge? I don't want to hear, " I can't answer a hypothetical ", or " I think the American people feel ", I want to know how YOU think and feel. Like "off shore drilling'. The whole world knows that more drilling is not going to give the Americans a break at the pump, so how can McCain say this is the solution to high gas prices and that Obama is the reason for high gas prices? Don't the Oil companies set the prices? That statement, solution, and accusation alone tells me McCain is a delusional liar and will be a worse POTUS than Bush. Who would have thought we could have a leader worse than Bush?

When is a real reporter going to ask McCain a real question and demand a real answer? I don't want to hear,"I'm not going to answer a hypothetical" or " I think the American people think", I want to know how YOU think. When is someone going to pin him down on the Off Shore Drilling like they hammered the tar out of Obama on the Surge? The whole world knows that more drilling isn't going to lower the price of gas one iota. The Oil companies control the prices.Yet he tells us that Obama is responsible for our high gas prices. That statement, solution, and accusation alone scares the crap out of me. For me, McCain is a delusional, arrogant, psychopathic liar and a real danger to the American people and the stability of this dangerous and fragile world we live in.

And that expansive dreary black block counterbalancing your photo's portrait , ,,the McCain presidency?,,,,,,,,

HEY, JOHN !!,, LOOK US IN THE EYE WHEN PRESENTING YOURSELF TO US ! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, John?,,,,,,,,,,,,,

    By gosh he's asleep.

Next thing you know, John McCain will be telling us that he didn't graduate in the bottom 1% of his Naval Academy class. He'll probably try to tell us that he graduated in the upper 1% and its just that people haven't been told the truth. He's a flip-flopper and a puppet to big oil...just like Bush. I'm surprised McCain has had any skin cancer as of lately since his head is so far up Bush's a....

    • Posted By: Earthprotection @ 07/30/2008 8:50:36 AM

Buddone that comment about skin cancer was un-called for. If you don't like McCain, pick apart is proposals(my spelling is bad), but don't write hateful comments like that, especially for someone who has just lost a parent to that disease. It just fuels the conservatives. Be better than that. I'm not voting for McCain, but comparing him to Bush is rather dramatic. More so than Obama, but a far cry from the religious right. Both canidates are moving into the center, which is more conservative than most European nations. I don't support the death penalty and was saddended to hear Obama come across as a supporter. But in reality if he didn't take this position, it would hurt him politically like Dukakis before him.

Of course we KNOW you, John !!!!!! ,,,,,You're the poster boy of ADOBE PHOTOSHOP!!!

Gettin' younger-looking every day, Although isn't your head a little submissively bowed here !!

Like maybe you're looking like the usual Republican caught doing "something"? ,,,,And maybe like you'er standing in front of the judge about ready to receive sentencing?,,,And do we have a little too much Lady Liz
powder puffed on here?,,,,Or is this how you'd look standing in front of the Russian leader Medvedev after he said "boo"? ,,,,Or is this your look when caught in one of your lies.,,,If that's the case you must walk around in real life in perpetual side view .,,,Heck of a trick though I must admit.

Is it too much to ask to have at least one decent candidate to choose from? McCain is incompetent, and Obama is anti personal freedom and accountability. Neither is acceptable to me.

  • Posted By: Ezana @ 07/29/2008 11:32:49 PM

How are those tough? Where is the one about investing soc security in the stock market. Or on his regular and complete reversals in policy? Or his co-opting Obama's ideas? Or why did he higher the same people who slandered is daughter in SC in 2000?

  • Posted By: nirak @ 07/29/2008 5:43:25 PM

That is the problem John McCain. We know you all too well!

  • Posted By: topcat2001 @ 07/28/2008 5:23:02 PM

Nice article but the truth is that in America these kind of attacks work better than a real discussion on politics which is why McCain is doing it. If Americans stood up and said we wont take this kind of behavior then it wont happen but it has successfully worked in the last two elections.

I am pretty sure by Nov 4 Americans will find a solid reason not to vote for Obama such has "My God he eats FRENCH fries" or he is not wearing a "Red Blue and White" tie or some thinly disguised one such as "McCain is better experienced in foreign policy" so he can more easily make us feel better about a war which we dont know why we got into.

I am not making this up or exaggerating. Just check out the stats from the polls and interviews.

Kathie Steigerwald, a Dearborn, Michigan businesswoman who said she voted for Hillary Clinton but now plans to support McCain, offered an especially succinct recital of a narrative on which other interviewees offered numerous variations:

"I feel John McCain is a true American and I want to support a true American," she said.

But isn't Obama a "true American?" she was asked.

"I don't know," she said after a measured pause. "I question it."

    Why?

    "I don't know???maybe because of his name?"

More honest answer: Obama will never be white enough for this country so we will find some excuse or the other come Nov 4th. Like the Men's Wearhouse guy, "I guarantee it".

      Topcat,
Alot of this comes from the bad taste left by rev wright and we know this. Unfortunately, when you make a bed for 20yrs, sometimes you have to lay in it. And if it were McCain I would feel the same way. Lay with dogs, you get fleas. Alll politicians are crooks and frauds. Until we can get "none of the above" on the card, Lets try and pick the lesser of the 2 poisons.

      • Posted By: raddave @ 07/29/2008 3:07:02 PM

So McCain has fleas too? After all he was a close friend of Charles Keating.

    • Posted By: AskPlus @ 07/28/2008 6:33:48 PM

I understand your point. There is a lot of fear in the uninformed, less-traveled. Organized slander by bloggers in the form of caring, daring and blatancy keep the fires burning. When he is in office, bloggers like this Sportlock09 can go away and take their bludgeons with them. Just reading these blogs, you can see there is a percentage of ex-Clinton super-supporters that went the same way as this voter who forget why the were democrats. But, unfortunately there is nothing you can do with people with this type of life experience. You can't fix stupid.

by the way, this interview is an example of why most women don't have any idea about McCain's real views on women's issues: if they did the majority would not consider voting for him. THIS woman isn't fool enough to depend on the media to inform her accurately about this candidate--no correct that, EITHER candidate.
