Many of us who live in the USA feel much the same about the fate of those been perished,we know nothing have been done to salvage their pride and dinity. It has been over six years since that small band of terrorists attacked the World Trade Centers, and our country has never been the same since.

Our land of freedom and good will has become a land of suspicion and fear. It seems like the terrorists won. They planted the seed of fear in the hearts of our people. Our people allowed that seed to blossom into paranoia, then chose weak leaders willing to sacrifice our sacred freedoms in the name of security.

Immediately after the 911 attack, people began to attach US flags on their cars. They pasted small signs on their window and auto bumpers with sayings like, "united we stand", "we shall never forget" and "God bless America".By the way all these stickers are made in China. We call this "bumper sticker patriotism". These same people cowered at home, afraid to fly in any airplane, terrified of another attack.

They became suspicious of all strangers including creating many bad experience obstacles that violates our citizens of their decency at our airports.

We scares the foreigner Businessman and tourists to come at our freedom land. Our economy becoming worst day by day since.

We allowed ourselves becoming far apart with Rest of the world.

Opportunistic politicians promised to restore our security by enacting precautionary laws and regulations.

Slowly, they robbed us of our essential freedoms with FISA etc, all in the name of protection.

Anyone who spoke against them was labeled a coward, a traitor or a fool.
I do not despair. Democracy has a resiliency that allows it to heal itself given enough time. The people of the USA are already beginning to awaken. They realize that our leaders have eroded our basic freedoms in the name of security, and they do not like it.Our last election was a beacon of hope but yet we be decived.

Many of the conservative exploiters of fear that we intends removed from office.

Slowly, our politicians are beginning scares about our awakening to restore our cherished freedoms.

We are not a people who believe in aggression, in torture or in the violation of human rights. The foundation of our government is based on "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness".

We were once the beacon of hope for oppressed people in other lands and we want to gain that title back. Most of us can see that we erred in allowing our freedom to be sacrificed so cheaply.

I think we will fight to restore it.Our courage is slowly returning.

Mccain is right, ppl do know him for being a Major Flip Flopper.

  • Posted By: GregHere @ 07/29/2008 6:08:38 AM

..................................................McCain is always working behind himself to cover up gaffes or attempting to redirect bungled statements, past speeches or in the policy pisitions he has taken in the past. McCain is not up to date or on top of enough action that needs to be taken. His Political Handlers are having him move from "pillar to post" to reposition himself inorder to look better for the media.....McCain is rediculous!!!

  • Posted By: bajan man @ 07/29/2008 1:08:32 AM

maccain is a schumuck who has no charisma and makes absolutely no sense when he speaks. his only defense is to attack obama patriotism because he knows he cant go head to head with obama on any issue. that is the reason he keeps emphasizing the "surge" and not the war he voted for. all of a sudden the conditions on the ground are good enough to withdraw in 16 months. whatever happen to having the troops in Iraq for a hundred years? how convenient that the conditions on the ground got so much better after obama visited Europe and practically everyone expect petraeus (a bush crony) are in favor of obama''''s time table. his strategy is so transparent and any idiot who votes for this guy deserves all the disaster that he will bring to the white house. so don''''t start whining and bicccthing (like his adviser said) about how horrible of a president he is when he is elected. frankly 3 times you had a chance to lead the country in the right direction since Clinton and three times in a row you are going to fail

  • Posted By: bajan man @ 07/29/2008 12:57:55 AM

Yes, there is still racism in the United States, but that is not a factor McCain can count on anymore. The African-American population in the US is only 13%, yet Obama has a lead in the polls. So as time passes the vestiges of racism become less of a factor than in the past. And though I truly believe McCain is a racist because of his reference to all Asians as "Gooks," fortunately he is a remnant of a past that no longer finds race a significant part of the American landscape.

When is the media going to explain why McCain's offshore drilling is not going to have any measurable impact on gas prices? Because the US gas goes to the World Oil Market and we buy it back at the current market price. The rapid increase in demand from China and Middle East countries means we need some worldwide energy sources. Europe is way ahead because the usually have good public transportation and they often drive tiny cars.

The Republicans know the facts. It is all politics to fool the voters, just like the gas tax holiday. When is the media going to ask McCain about submitting a bill to Congress?

McCain has a terrible record for most issues that are not for the wealthy. He has a terrible record for women and educations issues.

Sam Donaldson is in Rare Form as he Disects McCain's Hard Week, in the Political Trenches.

You will Die laughing at all the Gaffe's, Dibacles and Blunders of John "Semi-Senile McCain !!!

I respectfully disagree. People do NOT know the real John McCain, but they are beginning to.

This is NOT the McCain of 2000. This is a totally different McCain who is pandering to his base and whoever he has to for votes.

I am a resident from Arizona. This man has done nothing I can recall as helpful to anyone here including veterans. McCain is NOT SO PRO VETERAN as people assume. He has hid this very well. Check the record of his votes. The latest was the bill sponsored by Senator Webb and others for educational benefits for returning veterans. He voted AGAINST IT. People ASSUME because he was a POW he is for veterans. The record proves different. And now he is trying to disparage Obama on his Landstuhl
decision because Obama did NOT want to use wounded troops for political gain WHILE MCCAIN IS DOING EXACTLY THAT IN HIS LATEST AD.

He does not know so much about war as he says. Folks, HE WAS A POW and that deserves respect but IT DOES NOT MAKE HIM AND EXPERT. He held no field commands. He was a glamour boy that flew airplanes. DO NOT ASSUME that makes him an expert on the strategy of war. Field commands do that.

Do NOT assume just because he has been in the Senate forever that makes him so knowledgeable. Ask why he could NOT achieve more than he has before the age of 71 with a POW background. Its because he just does not have it.

Listen to him carefully. Any rational, open minded, unbiased and non racist person would have to agree he is really lacking in so many ways. The so called "surge* is the only thing he has been even close to right on and then he fails to consider "political achievements" in his assessment of its success.

It is unfortunate that John McCain, a man who deserves a nation's respect as a POW is a man without vision and is oriented only toward violence in solving our future problems.

HE IS WAR IN IRAN WAITING TO HAPPEN.

    2. D'Mitry MedVedev 42 Yrs Old, Today's Young... Russian President

    3. Brack Obama 46-47 Yrs Old..Democrat Presidential Candidate

    4. John McCain 71-72 yr Old, republican Presidential Candidate.

JOHN MCCAIN SAYS "HE KNOWS HOW TO WIN WARS" NAME A MILITARY STARATEGY, THAT JOHN MCAIN CONCIEVED, CREATED, AND THE MILITARY JOINT CHEIFS OF STAFF, SIGNED OFF ON, HAD IMPLEMENTED IN A WAR(S) THAT PROVED TO BE SUCCESSFUL. THE HIGHLY MENTIONED "SURGE" WAS NOT JOHN MCCAIN'S CONCEPT, CREATION OR MILITARY STRATEGY, HE VOTED YES TO IT, AS OTHERS, THE MILITARY STRATEGY WAS GENERAL MCFARLAND'S, NOT JOHN MCCAIN'S, THOUGH HE PRETENDS LIKE "THE SURGE" WAS HIS MILITARY STRATEGY, IT WAS'NT IT WAS GENERAL MCFARLAND'S CREATION.

  • Posted By: Omaar @ 07/28/2008 6:49:28 PM

JOHN F. KENNEDY WAS THE YOUNGEST PRESIDENT AGE (43) AN RUSSIA'S NEW PRESIDENT D'MITRY MEDVEDEV IS AGE (42)THE DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, BARACK OBAMA IS AGE (46-47) SO MUCH FOR AGE AND EXPERIENCE...

MCCAIN IS TOO OLD, FEEBLE MINDED, SEMI-SENILE, HE CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT HE SAYS, EVEN ONE DAY AFTER STATING WITH SURETY THAT HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT, ONLY TO CHANGE IT THE NEXT DAY, LIKE "THE SURGE' AND SAYING THAT OBAMA'S "TIMELINE" SOUNDS RIGHT !!

THEN SUNDAY, MCCAIN CHANGES THAT AGAIN. ALSO IN (PA) LYING ABOUT REMEMBERING THE NAMES OF THE PITTSBURG STEELERS WHILE A POW , THOUGH IN HIS BOOK & MOVIE, MCAIN SAYS EXPLICITLY, THAT IT WAS THE GREEN BAY PACKERS NAMES HE REMEMBERS.

BUSH AGREES TO A "TIME HORIZON" & THIS WEEKEND STATED THAT THE IRAQI PEOPLE, LIKE OBAMA HAS SAID, SHOULD CONTROL THEIR OWN DESTINY.

THE BLOODY ANBAR AWAKENING HAPPENED IN 2006, THOUGH MCCAIN SAYS IT WAS DURING "THE SURGE" OF 2007 AN THAT "THE SURGE" PROTECTED THE SHEIKS IN THE AWAKENING AT ANBAR. "THE SURGE" TOOK PLACE IN 2007 AND IT HAPPENED IN BAGDAD, NOT (ANBAR), WHICH WAS IN 2006 & MANY SHIEKS WERE KILLED, NOT PROTECTED, BY MCFARLAND'S SURGE.. NOT MCCAIN'S MILITARY STRATEGY, WHICH HE'S TRYING TO TAKE CREDIT FOR. MCCAIN JUST VOTED YES ON "THE SURGE". ITS MCCAIN'S GLASS SLIPPER, OR SO HE THINKS.

  • Posted By: Omaar @ 07/28/2008 6:44:38 PM

    OBAMA'S "57 STATES" MISSATEMENT MEANT.....

IT FEELS LIKE... I'VE BEEN OR HAVE TRAVELED TO... "57 STATES"

ANYONE CAN HAVE A FEW MOMENTS OF MISSTATEMENTS, BUT JOHN MCCAIN HAS ACCUMULATED DOZENS WITHIN 1 WEEK !!!

    DAMN !!!

SEMI-SENILE JOHN MCCAIN SAID YESTERDAY, THAT GENERAL PATRAEUS WAS HEAD OF THE (JOINT CHEIFS OF STAFF) THAT IS A CLEAR CUT LIE, OR IN MCCAIN'S CASE IT'S HARD TO DISTINGUISH WHETHER ITS A LIE OR A SEMI-SENILE, OR SENIOR MOMENT...

WHICH MCCAIN HAS HAD A SLEW OF, RECENTLY, WHICH IS A VERY BAD SIGN.

DO NOT COMPARE RONALD WILSON REAGAN, (MR.666 HIMSELF) TO JOHN "SEMI-SENILE" MCCAIN...

MR. 666 RONALD WILSON REAGAN WAS A THESPIAN-ACTOR, A MAN WITH A GREAT MEMORY, REAGRDING REMEMBERING LINES, DIALOG OR SCRIPTS....

THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO JOHN "SEMI-SENILE" MCCAIN...SORRY

ITS AN INSULT TO MR. 666 RONALD WILSON REAGAN...HE REMEMBERED HIS LINES, UNTIL ALZHEIMERS DEFEATED HIM, JUST LIKE CHARLTON HESTON, HESTON LASTED FAR LONGER, BECAUSE OF THE MEMORIZATION SKILLS AS AN ACTOR...

JOHN MCAIN, CAN'T COMPETE WITH EITHER OF THOSE 2 MEN MENTIONED ABOVE...SORRY

BUT THANKS FOR PLAYING THE GAME.

Yeah, America knows McBush. They know that he's a senile liar with no proposals or policies of his own. All he can do is slime Obama. McBush, just go away, and play golf or something. You are mentally and physically unfit to be president.

I am starting to question why people would take anything from this article other then he appears to be a pretty str8 forward guy. Sure, he, like Obama has his flaws and makes his fair share of gaffes but why in the world would you take the word of a Newsweek reporters very unashamedly biased opinion for anything other then This persons opinion?

    First headline reads.....
While riding in a black SUV through a crowd of protesters on his way to deliver a speech at the 2008 American GI Forum in Denver, Sen. John McCain spoke with NEWSWEEK's Suzanne Smalley. Edited excerpts:

1st Bad sign ........NEWSWEEKS Suzanne Smally
    2nd Bad sign........ EDITED EXCERPTS
Tailored to fit whatever Newsweek wants you to believe...

  • Posted By: Figerre @ 07/28/2008 5:18:48 PM

The American people may know McCain - that not this GW Bush Buddy - the 2000 McCain said what he thought and meant what he said --- this one isn't sure what he says and doesn't mean what he says. which is a shame.

  • Posted By: csude @ 07/28/2008 4:20:14 PM

Communist, Marxist, Politician Opportunist, A run this country into the ground with government welfare programs Liberal, lose a war we just won, stay anything to get elected and oh I can go on ??? yeah I will take McSame. McBush or McWhatever you want to call him

    • Posted By: just jerry @ 07/28/2008 4:28:49 PM

The crude, rude, and disrespectful way that Obama supporters treat those who oppose shows them and him in their true light. So much for a new kind of politics- looks pretty much like the typical republican campaign instead of a democratic one. That is the big change about Obama.

  • Posted By: KimNota @ 07/28/2008 8:49:44 AM

A better question about McCain's gaffes would be why is it Barrack Obama's gaffes go un reported while your's are always brought up to point out your age. On Memorial Day he wanted to honor our fallen heroes because he "saw" many of them in our audience. He said he campaigned in 57 states, skipped 2 at the advice of his campainge, and had two to go. A reason for National healthcare is so Azmeir is so affected children can have "breathlizers" on hand. How about calling Matt Lauer "Tim" at least several times during an interview in June. He said the allies liberated Auschwitz when it was actually tThe Red Army that liberated them. Obama even went as far as to say his uncle was part of the brigade. He said "Thank you "Sioux City" when he was in Sioux Falls. His parents first met during the famous march in Selma when he was already 4 years old by that time. He said we had a lack of translators in Afghanistan because they're all in Iraq. Howver both countries speak completely different languages. He said Iran doesn???t ???pose a serious threat to us because tiny countries defense budgets can???t do us harm. A few days later he canged his mind. I could show you more if you'd like. I'm just a reader but would think a reporter would be more thorough. I'm not saying you should have mentioned specific gaffes, just acknoledged to John McCain that although he hasn't made as many gaffes, he's portrayed that way.

    • Posted By: Jurr @ 07/28/2008 1:00:56 PM

They both make mistakes however McCain has a lot more, worse mistakes than Obama.
When McCain screws up he swings for the fences, then denies he messed up in the first place, then gets angry about how he was misunderstood.

      • Posted By: KimNota @ 07/28/2008 3:36:26 PM

Honestly, I've only notices a few times that mcCain didn't stand behind what he said and tried to twist it. It made me cringe. Obama, on the other hand is never even questioned.
