i cannot believe a journalist is allowed to write such crap. This is nothing new, only a new journalist who should be writing for the National Enquirer. Concrete barriers have been on the streets since Opertation Enduring Freedom took over. The writer should be proud of himself for declaring the Taliban winners. I work in Kabul. We don't need a journalist paid big bucks for his story to beat down all the hard work the men and women of coaliton and US forces have been doing. Not the policiticans, including the militray big-wigs but the grunts who --if recalled, would leave Afghanistan in turmoil. Any Afghan will attest to Taliban in the alleyways as would San Antoinians attest to Gang's on the Southside.

Obama is right, enough with Iraq, these are the same pieces of trash who attacked us on 9/11, and we need to take them out. Unlike Iraq, we can approach Afghanistan with alot more troops and allied support than in Iraq, because nobody questions how important it is to stop these monsters. We must be more careful to avoid killing civilians because we need the Afghan people behind us, or we'll be stuck in another Iraq situation, therefore aerial bombing must be used very sparingly. Instead, we should gather as many forces as possible, including as many allies as possible, and launch a huge ground invasion from every direction. If Pakistan refuses to help, we will be forced to chase these terrorists into their territory. Enough is enough, war sucks, so let's do whatever it takes to end this s$%t, and make an example of the cowardly Taliban.

There was a good point made when someone mentioned our new ways of fighting wars after WWII. And, with that came "endless war". There is a fine line between killing in battle and killing indiscriminately and somewhere along the way, someone from the United States of America picked up our banner and started charging toward civilization with our own cultural beliefs as if they were the only ones to live by. We can not just fire bomb cities and kill without any reqard as we've done in the past, however we will never get anyone to submit otherwise. Hence; "Endless War". It's as if everyone has started the evolutionary race at a different point and now it's up to us to bring everyone up to speed. Why??? It's because those neanderthals live over something we need............. "OIL" (PERIOD!!!) There are solutions to this issue, and none of them are easy ones. However, if we are so hell bent on bringing civilization and democracy to these people, why is it that we've taken the "IMPERIAL PATH" to this issue instead of solving it in the civilized and democratic fashion? A civilized person would have looked to other ways to solve this issue and avoid the conflicts that we've gotten ourselves into. "I was always in agreement for the United States of America to go after the Terrorist that our out there, and rest assure, I believe that we will NEVER STOP looking for them, but when they are caught, they should be turned over to the World Court System so everyone can see that we are in fact simply looking for Justice". Mistakes have been made but can be rectofied, and although we can not bring back the thousands of people that have lost their lives so far, we can honor all of them by doing the right thing for Humanity. "It starts with good leadership"........

It???s like in the movies or Television drama series where CIA death squads are in operation to eliminate ???enemies??? of the United States. In Afghanistan, this movie is being played in real time with real people being killed and at times entire villages razed by an angry mob called the CIA paramilitaries.

As with most of the comments I've read,I agree that the media certainly seems to favor the bad and not any positive stories or views of the future of this war torn country! This really upsets not only morale for the people living in Afghanistan but also the families like me(my son is currently serving in Afghanistan) that hang on to every piece of news and article concerning this war!
