    John McCain's sole idea to "drill here and drill now" won't produce oil until the year 2030, and then it will only be 200,000 barrels per day. In comparison, the government estimates that if everyone made sure their car tires were fully inflated, we could start to reduce our oil consumption by 800,000 barrels per day, right now.

    What just happened? Evidence. A secret that has been judiciously kept for five years just spilled out. All of what follows is new, never reported in any way:

    The Iraq Intelligence Chief, Tahir Jalil Habbush -- a man still carrying a $1 million reward for capture, the Jack of Diamonds in Bush's famous deck of wanted men -- has been America's secret source on Iraq. Starting in January of 2003, with Blair and Bush watching, his secret reports began to flow to officials on both sides of the Atlantic, saying that there were no WMD and that Hussein was acting so odd because of fear that the Iranians would find out he was a toothless tiger. The U.S. deep-sixed the intelligence report in February, "resettled" Habbush to a safe house in Jordan during the invasion and then paid him $5 million in what could only be considered hush money.

    In the fall of 2003, after the world learned there were no WMD -- as Habbush had foretold -- the White House ordered the CIA to carry out a deception. The mission: create a handwritten letter, dated July, 2001, from Habbush to Saddam saying that Atta trained in Iraq before the attacks and the Saddam was buying yellow cake for Niger with help from a "small team from the al Qaeda organization."

    The mission was carried out, the letter was created, popped up in Baghdad, and roiled the global newcycles in December, 2003 (conning even venerable journalists like Tom Brokaw). The mission is a statutory violation of the charter of the CIA, and amendments added in 1991, prohibiting the CIA from conducting disinformation campaigns on U.S. soil.

    So, here we go again: the administration is in full attack mode, calling me names, George Tenet is claiming he doesn't remember any such thing -- just like he couldn't remember "slam dunk" -- and reporters are scratching their heads. Everything in my book is on the record, with many sources. And so, we watch and wait....

    There will be more falling by the wayside after this book is read and there may be an impeachment in the works. Wait there already is! This will give it lots of strength. If you are a patriotic American write all of your congressmen/women and senators and ask them what's up with this.

    There's been a huge transfer of power to oil producers. Even at $100 a barrel, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates will earn almost $8 trillion in oil revenues between now and 2020, estimates the McKinsey Global Institute. More troubling are the political implications. "This has really strengthened the Iranians, Russians and Venezuelans to be more provocative in the world," says Larry Goldstein of the Energy Policy Research Foundation. Although governments control crude supplies, private companies have dominated distribution. Anyone can buy oil at a price. Now oil could become a political commodity offered to friends at a discount, withheld from rivals.

    How can we retrieve some of our lost power? The first thing is to get out of denial. Stop blaming oil companies and "speculators." Next, we need to expand domestic oil and natural-gas drilling, including Alaska. Although we can't "drill our way" out of this problem, we can augment oil supplies and lessen price strains. It might take 10 years or more, because new projects are huge undertakings. But delay will only aggravate our future problems.

    Argue against this SIMPLE TRUTH. Show us all how really goofy, a devout obamamohammed, can really be. Can't blame that on whitey......OOPs...sorry...I forgot how good at that you are.

    Now, this is only what a second party SWORE to...Obama was being coached by his "white team" in the art of debating, so the guys suggested that they video the session so O could review it and see where he may need some polish and help.....SO, he practiced looking in the mirror, to see is he looked sincer enough..Well, dude,, this is hard to believe, but after 2 hours of debating in a heated, horns locked, facing all the critical issues of our nation...Obama LOST....Now, that's sad, I'm starting to feel sorry for the fake...he's got his butt whipped by Hillary so, needless to say if he can't win a debate with himself...I'm sorry all you O supporters..he's gonna be hash when John M...chews him up and spits him out....Gotta love TRUTH..

Only 15 members of the U.S. House opposed it, and it passed the Senate unanimously on a voice vote. Sen. Obama voted twice against this legislation.

The time between his first campaign for the Illinois State Senate in 1995 and his race for U.S. Senate in 2004, which can fairly be called the LOST YEARS, the span of years that you never hear Obama talk much about.

    Enquirer's editor, David Perel tells Radar that while he is "definitely" in possession of photos from Edwards' bizarre early-morning tete-a-tete with Enquirer reporters at the Beverly Hilton last week, he won't be putting them in tabloid's next issue, or making them accessible online.


    "It's a story that we're taking a long view of," Perel told Radar by phone. "We've got a big exclusive coming out this week, and we are on the trail of some stuff that's even hotter. But no one will dictate the time-table for when we release our unpublished material. We've been setting the agenda, and will continue doing so."

    Perel declined to comment on the record about the nature of the unpublished material he is withholding, but did say that he "plans on releasing the photos when the time is right." He was similarly mum about what the Enquirer's "big exclusive" is. We've heard that the tabloid has established a financial link between Edwards and his rumored mistress, Rielle Hunter, though what that means???clandestine child support payments? Hush money????is unclear. Perel refused to confirm this, saying only that "it's always a good idea to follow the money." We've also heard from multiple sources that a major TV network is currently in negotiations with Hunter to secure a primetime interview, which would be the first serious play the mainstream media has given the story. Perel refused to confirm this as well.

    Big exclusive or not, the decision to keep the photos under wraps is a curious one. "A lot of people are holding off on passing judgment until they see evidence that Edwards was actually visiting Hunter at the hotel," says a political reporter at the Huffington Post. (Evidently, Fox News' independent corroboration of the account via an anonymous hotel security guard doesn't prove anything beyond all reasonable doubt.) "If they have them, what reason could they possibly have for not having released them by now?" Perel denied that releasing incriminating pics at this juncture would buttress his publication's story. "We spent seven months reporting this out, and ended up nailing him with a time and a date and everything," he says. "And then had someone else confirm it. There's a bigger story at play, and we think we'll be better off putting them out there later."

    But you do have photos from the night in question, right? "Yes, definitely."

    Here a little more for you babies to cry about...The electoral count stands at 238 for Barack and 163 for McCain. that's in the bank for both, and 137 toss up states.

    If the total was adjusted awarding the electoral votes to the candidate leading in the polls for the toss up states, the count would be 322 for obama and a measly 216 for McCain.

      First, you don't need to insult the people who have a difference of opinion with you. These boards are supposed to be thought provoking discussions, not childish name calling of each other.. Grow up. Second it is my opinion that Obama won't debate McCain in a town hall style debate because he then does not see the questions before hand and cannot have a canned PC answer resady. In a Town Hall debate, questions are random and the participants must think on their feet, without the benefit of a research staff to act as a crutch. That being said, this makes it a very risky platform for both participants. Neither one knows what sneaky garbage question might get thrown at him. But at least McCain has the guts to put it on the table as an option - knowing full well he could FUBAR and that would be that. Obama has refused the challenge - apparently too conservative to boldy step into an unscripted arena. That makes some suspicious of him, as life is not scripted, nor is the presidency.

        I'm not exactly sure, given the amount and frequency of gaffes, why Reps would think Mr. McCain would have an advantage over Mr. Obama in a public speaking arena. I'm also not sure why Reps say Mr. Obama is a "smooth-talker" one minute, then say he will falter all of a sudden in the next. Seems peculiar.

        Get Real, There's nearly no risk at a town hall meeting. Care is taken to share the audience invitees equally between the candidates. Everything uttered by either candidate will be wildly cheered or booed. the competition is between supporters instead of the candidates. Put mcCain in front of the same spotlight as the candidates were under during the primary. If you do mcCain would melt like new snow. no one blames McCain's campaign for not wanting to subject him to a venue that expose the fact that mccain can't think on his feet. As for what you call insults, try this one on for size. You seem to think you're intellegent enough to see the issues for what they are. If that's the case, why are you backing a candidate who is willing to send thousands of out best and bravest young women and men to die in iraq for a war you know was invented using phony evidence cooked up by the Leaders of the G OLD P?           John McCains Town Hall meetings are in a format in which random questions, unscripted, are addressed to him by audience members. He does not know what question he has coming around the corner from his audience, and that speaks volumes to me that he is a man who has the integrity and confidence to be able to answer questions on issues and state his solutions, on his policies, on the Iraq war, etc. It also says a lot about the character of this man given he is willing to meet and receive questions in such an open forum with the people who count, us voters.

In addition, I suggest you re-read my post. I express my opinions and views, no hard facts. I have looked at the qualifications of both candidates. If find both lacking in many areas, and neither very strong in any area, Obama more so than MCain, he touts change fo rthe sake of change. That is not good. He is an eloquent and practiced speaker, a nice change from "nucular." but that doesn't qualify him to be president.All this does not mean I am for MCCain, it just means I feel that Obama is less qualified. Stop trying to lump me in with all the other morons that will blindly follow one candidate or the other, I am an independent thinker and not a sheep.         Obama won't bother doing a townhall coz they're so hokey. Typical that McCain would like that format - it's all he ever does: stump in front of smaller audiences, and it's all hecan really do. He is so not competitive against Obama, the election is pretty much already over, if you ask me. There is just not much sense in voting for a 72-year old guy who should be thinking about retiring - can't believe the GOP is allowing this to happen. Surely they have other candidates who would be more of a race - this election is just a snoozer.

        Maybe Hillary should join McCain's ticket and draw all the voters who don't like Obama to their side. At least it would be something interesting.

        My credibility is right on. Enquirer hits stands tomorrow. PICTURES and more. Check out GOOGLE...John Edwards Caught.....hundreds of sources. Reported worldwide. It's true. You know it. AND Hussein has QUICLKY moved away as a VP candidate. FOX at least tells what is happening. The rest RUN for cover. If this had been a Republican, it would have been "BREAKING NEWS" Doesn't matter. They are going to be forced to carry the story.

          It's the same three "major" sources covering this "scandal" as it's been for days - The UK Times, Fox News, and the National Enquirer. Two of those are owned by Murdoch, who's been waging a right-wing propaganda attack on liberals with every paper he can buy for years now, and the other is, well, the National Enquirer.

          The "hundreds of sources" that you claim are covering this are no-name blogs like "Fashion.ie", "NewsBlaze", "NewsBusters", and the "Uncapitalist Journal". There's not a recognizable name in the bunch aside from the three I mentioned above, other the L.A. Times covering the *Enquirer's* coverage, which is something totally different than reporting on the story themselves.

          Why? Because there's no real evidence against Edwards. Just like with Larry Sinclar - a man whose allegations are so unfounded that there's not even a Wikipedia listing for him - things are so unproven that any respectable paper covering these things would be savaged for runnning tabloid nonsense.

          And Americans are getting sick and tired of people like you trying to destroy people's reputations with cruelty. The backlash is against YOU - sir or madam or whatever the **** you are - and the people running these kinds of trashy, unscrupulous attacks are going to start getting the short end of the stick.

          Shape up. You claim to be a Christian - start acting like one. You claim to believe in free speech - stop posting on these comments threads every half hour so that your posts drown out everyone else's and are the only thing anyone sees on the comments linked from the story. Otherwise, people see through you - AND break through your propaganda - like the tissue paper it so much resembles.

            Are you naive or hanging on to HOPE. Everyone who has an ounce of brain matter, knows this is the real deal. Enquirer HAS pictures. FOX has received independent verification from security, that the story is correct. Edwards ran when confronted by the paparazzi, leaving his mistresses room. Locked himself in the bathroom, and called security to get him out. VERIFIED by security to be factual. There is also a police report filed by the reporters. He's not going to wiggle out of this. WHO tipped the Enquirer is the juicy question. My guess is the mistress. She wants him to leave Elizabeth. He probably will. He is an ambulance chaser.

            Go this week to the grocery. Get a copy for yourself. How could you consider defending scum like this. If it had been a Repub., say Romney or Huckabee, it would be all over the NBC "breaking news". The Enquirer is NOT going to give their story and pics away. We have to pay to see them first.

              I have no idea what goes on in John Edwards' life, for the most part. The story could be true, it could be false. What I'm defending is the man's right to be considered INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY - that is to say, to allow him to live his life unmolested just because someone makes an accusation against him. Anyone can make a wild accusation, fair or unfair. And many do.

              If one screams bloody murder every time someone is accused of something, then the ONLY thing required to destroy someone's reputation is a wild accusation. Got someone you don't like and want to destroy them, regardless of what they've done? Start making things up, start a wild story, put energy behind a whispering campaign. Innocent lives can be destroyed all the time like this - INNOCENT people - if one just starts believing every destructive claim that's ever made. It's unfair, it's false, and it's one of the things our forefathers fought a *revolution* to get away from - British Imperial claims of suspicion that were the only things needed to start prosecution and persecution in that era. Due process becomes an inquisition. Prejudices rather than actual guilt are the things that destroy lives.

              What do you actually believe about presumption of innocence? Is it something you believe should be part of the American legal landscape?

    Why didn't you mention in your introduction (or any place else) that the 200,000 people in Berlin were lured there due to a free concert by 2 very popular bands before Obama's speech. Or how about asking him why he couldn't mention that "those planes", "those pilots", "those ground crews working tirelessly" during the Berlin Airlift in 1948, were Americans. Why didn't he mention the rest of the world wanted to retract and drop a bomb to remove the blockade. Why didn't he mention that 31 Americans died while fighting that Blockade. Why didn't he mention Trumans' courage to go it alone. Why didn't you ask why he didn't visit our wounded soldiers in Germany. The Pentagon said he could go, just couldn't bring carmeras and media. They even allowed for the campaigne plane and planes to land nearby. I believe my subscription to this magazine is over in September and can't wait to not renew it.

      OK, gloves off, you started it. READ MY POST AGAIN and try to comprehend the meaning. I said that in my opinion (and I am allowed to have one) BHO doesn't want a town hall format because he can't have access to the questions before hand and therefore can't have canned, PC answers. Well, McCain can't have canned PC answers either - Think about it! The bottom line is McCain had the fortitude to put that chance on the table, knowing the possibilities, but Obama declined. Thus, my perception of the situation. Keep reading my posts - I feel that neither candidate is really qualified to be the President of the United States. I will probably not vote in November, Given a choice of gonorrhea or syphilis, I'll stay abstinent. Too bad the population of this country won't do the same. Think about the ramifications - we hold an election, but nobody votes becsue both candidates are morons. But there will always be some who will choose one or the other because they blindly follow the loudest propaganda. It is those blindly dumb people who can't or won't think for themselves that I refer to as weasels - because that is exactly what they are doing, weaseling out on their fellow citizens. Honorable people have defended this country for over 200 years to protect the rights of our citizens. The least the citizens could do is exercise those rights intelligently instead of squandering the opportunity away on one bad choice or another. Nobody ever said you HAVE to vote. There are many people who have said Obama is an open door of change, the sign of change, blah blah blah . He is just a politician, nothing more. So is McCain. The real change will happen when we let the government know, through actions in our local state and then federal communities that we are fed up with their antics. We as citizens must get involved in more than just a vote every couple of years to make it work right. Finally, DO NOT lump me in with any one group. You and Rush Limbaugh come from the same mold, just different flavors. You both blindly follow one line of thnking, considering anyone who says anythng even remotely different as the enemy. I suggest you sit down, review your own thought processes and decide if you are for a candidate for the right reasons or only because you are against the other candidate. If its the latter, You have obviously made your choice for the weakest reasons. Remember, I do not care for either candidate, the individual I feel is best qualified to lead this country pulled out of the primaries fairly early in the process.

I know that you didn't indicate or say that, he was making an analogy. It does happen here though, with some thinking that because I support McCain, I'm automatically a Bush man. Not all Reps, and even fewer Indy's like the Cowboy. I voted for Bush, and will defend him on taxes and a few other issues, but frankly, I have "enjoyed all I can stand" of him and can't wait for him to leave.

                I meant no offense, and once again, I could've been a bit more specific. I look forward to posting with you guys in the future!

                You really are dense. How can one defect from something that one was never a part of? Just because I am not for BHO (it's easier than spelling it all out, that's why I do it, not as a slight) doesn't mean I am for MCC (there, happy now?). I just feel MCC is the lesser of two evils (if there really is such a thing), and even then not by much. If I do vote, I may go in and write a name on my ballot. and not use one of the offered names. Who knows, it all has to start somewhere with just one vote. No matter who wins this popularity contest for president, we all have to live with it for another 4 years.

          Oh, and by the way, I can at least admit if I'm wrong. It was recently announced that BHO will be holding a town hall meeting (OK, not a debate mind you, but the circumstances are very similar) somewhere in Florida. Good for him, but it still does nothing to change my mind..

            Obama has done town meetings on occasion, but has not risen to McCains challenge to do a Town Meeting together, side by side, that Obama has not accepted doing when he was asked close to two months ago to conduct with McCain. He has not accepted even one. I for one would love to see it happen.but am not holding my breath. : - )
